Stopped by yesterday while visiting Salina. Place seems very new, but you could tell it’s a masterpiece in progress. Had an excellent variety of brews on hand, but their Root Beer Ale was my favorite. Ordered a pizza with andouille sausage(!) and tried a jalapeño wheat ale. Had a great time for the price as the pizza had good re-heat value. Will recommend.

Good beer. I like to get a tasting flight, because drinking beer out of small glasses makes me feel like Andre the Giant. The pizza here is excellent too. When you combine the brewing company’s great beer, and the pizza restaurant’s great pizza, this is an excellent place to come. I’m only in Salina once a year, but this is one place I make a point of visiting.

Great brews. Good selection. We loved the wheat and the vanilla Porter. The food was tasty. We had the boneless wings and Italian sandwich. We are from Colorado and love to try new breweries while traveling. This one definitely holds its own with the 300 or so in colroado!

I haven’t been back to Salina for a long time and was excited to see there were a couple breweries! Two others and I went to Big John’s on a Saturday night for dinner and drinks. We had wings and pizza rolls(or something similar) Food was good – very bar-ish and came in big servings. Beer was ok. I am more of an IPA girl and wasn’t impressed with the IPA. I started with it and my friend had the Rye. We then split a flight… ok selection just not great beer. We decided they are likely still figuring things out.

Went there on a Saturday night and had a great time. Staff was quick and very friendly. Root Beer and Cream Soda was awesome. My boyfriend enjoyed the beers and I loved their Chardonnay. Can’t wait to go back!

Big John’s is the perfect place for a good time! We held our HighSchool class reunion there on a Saturday night and staff was amazing! About 100 people from our staff showed up and have no complaints at all. We reserved half of the brewery and was able to decorate any way we wanted, had dinner catered from another restaurant and able to play our own playlist! We still tried their pizza and it was amazing, beer was great and enjoyed the wine. Will definitely be back!

It makes me so happy Salina now has TWO breweries! I hope they appreciate what an accomplishment this is for a town of their size. The support and local cultivation in this community have always touched my heart. Be sure to keep supporting places of business like this! They need it, and they are worth it. The menu is straight and to the point. It may be simple, but the ability to execute such a menu is very high. And with a fewer number of items they have been able to focus the flavor and quality into the items they do have. I tried the pizza rolls, and the hot wings. I was very impressed with both! The rolls’ dough was so incredibly tasty I’m still not sure how to put it into words. With pepperoni, cream cheese, and jalapenos, rolled into a little pocket of awesome. The sauce flavor I tasted on the wings was reminiscent of a PG-13 Memphis rub. It had great depth and a heat that stuck. And their ranch! The dressing was thick and flavorful and a perfect compliment to the heat in the dishes I tried. Service is more casual, which I think fits the environment. It’s great for relaxing. If you need something, ask, they are very accommodating. If you feel like being waited on hand and foot, or even, demand your water be refilled every 90 seconds, this may not be your bag, baby. And the beer! The coup de grace(the french version, for final blow) I tried nearly every beer. It was very easy to distinguish each style of beer from one another. What impressed me the most is there was some underlying flavor in the beer, maybe a malt, which tied them all together. You knew every beer was from the same brewery, even with the distinction of each style. The flavor of the Oatmeal Stout was divine, very comparable to Lawrence’s Free State. I had a great experience. I hope to visit the next time I am in town.

The owner contacted me and gave me more information. I had the Traditional IPA not the American; that explained why I thought it was off. It was nice someone contacted me. Will go back and retry with the right Hops in mind.

Just I town for a few days and had to check out the new brewery. Casual friendly atmosphere. Tried their flight of beers for a good sample. I’m generally not a fan of wheat beers but their honey wheat is really good. Taste more like a ale than the normal wheat beers. There are also have several seasonal beers. They also have a couple pool tables and free popcorn.
