Favorite place to grab a quick bite. The staff is always friendly and gives me a positive experience. The staff seems like they actually care which is hard to find these days.

Love the Pita Pit. I think some of the employees could use a little more people skills, but none the less, the food is delicious. The building and eating area is always clean(at least when I am there)

I love this place. I eat here everyday on my lunch break, and the staff is so friendly. There is only one person who works there that is not as friendly or cheerful as the rest, but its okay. I love the food, staff, and atmosphere. Great addition to the downtown area. The Gyro is delicious.

Quite a few different choices of Pita’s. The staff is always fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean and they have great breakfast pitas!

Please fill my pita with your apathy, man behind the counter. The other toppings are equally unappealing, and I sense that you need the the release. Fill that pita to the brim. Pour the sauce of apathy inside until you feel cleansed of this immobilizing lethargy. I probably won’t eat that pita, but I will consider it money well spent.

My co-workers and i recently ordered online from pita pit. Thinking«oh this is easy! then we can pick it up and enjoy a good pita» wrong. they literally messed up all 7 of our orders, i didn’t get sauce or cheese on mine, another got BBQ sauce on his BUFFALO chicken pita, and two others with no cheese and the wrong veggies. It’s ridiculous how messed up our online order was. Last time i went in there, they dropped my order slip on the ground and 5 people went in front of me because they didn’t have my order. Then finally they noticed i was waiting and ask me what i was waiting for… uhh my pita! I don’t think i will be coming back to the state street location.

Pita Pit? More like Poop Pit! The servers were moody and there is no real communication on how to order or what costs extra. I saw my server throw away probably 5 pitas because he was trying to split the pita in half with his man thumbs… get a knife and cut the pita with it!!! Will not be returning.

After reading the reviews for Pita Pit I was a little surprised at all the negative reviews. I have never had a bad experience here. I really like all the different choices of pitas you can get. My favorite is the turkey, bacon, avocado. I always get mine as a salad because of gluten issues. You get a very large portion of food for what you pay. Every time I have been there the veggies have been really fresh and tasty. I would recommend that you get your food to go. They don’t have very much seating and if it is busy it gets really loud inside. Some of the employees are really friendly, but others need to work on that. If you are offended or judgmental about people with tattoos and piercings then you probably shouldn’t frequent this restaurant. I don’t think I have seen an employee there that isn’t pierced and tattooed.

It is good food. However the woman who says that she is the manager is a disappointment. She is slow and not willing to help her employees when they are busy. She does not convey that she genuinely appreciates her customers. I have introduced tens of my co-workers to this specific location. My job site ordered lunch for over 100 employees, that was based on my supervisor’s suggestion. He had never heard of the place until I bought him a pita. That order would have not been placed unless it was for a patron passing along the word.(in this case, me) Lindsay had mentioned that on her request that I was no longer welcome there. I asked to speak to the owner and she said that he doesn’t like to be bothered. I would like to think that an owner would like to receive input from their patrons. I hadn’t passed along the word to my supervisor, really, well, because once I drive down the street, Lindsay isn’t worth another thought. However, when I do pass it downtown, I do feel what she is doing is wrong. Pita Pit is awesome. The management can be replaced.

We won’t be returning. Got the wrong order and when we went back they said, «look here no the receipt it says… «I don’t care what the receipt says, if its wrong its wrong. I hate humus… they claim I ordered a humus sandwich. The whole purpose of going there was to get a falafel pita. So then I ordered another one… eventually we went down the street to The Falafel King. A locally owned small business. Great customer service, we got what we ordered and we helped our own economy! Bye bye, corporation!

Overpriced. Staff looks like a freak show. Seating is almost nil. The staff needs to be replaced with humans.

I was pretty happy to see a Pita Pit opening up in Salem. I love the food! You have a lot of choices and the food can be more on the healthy side of fast food — but also on the not as healthy, giant portion side if you’re into that. The food is just as good as at any other Pita Pit, but the service at this location sucks. I was also unhappy about the seating(very little and the seats are right where the line to make your order is), but then recently noticed there’s upstairs seating. If you like a good alternative to a sandwich with more options than usual, this is a great place to go. If you’re looking for service with a smile, this isn’t your place.

Another reviewer said«Subway but with Pita’s» that true but they have fresh produce and meat. The staff are young and don’t really care about the customers but the food quality is wonderful. If you are looking for a place that is just another sandwich shop here it is. I would stay to take your order to go since the inside the place in small.

Went in there today and it was freezing in the restaurant. I think it was about the same temp in the place as it was outside. I couldn’t take my jacket off and I was shivering as I ate my Pita. As to the food, it’s like a Subway but with Pita’s rather than bread. If you like Subway and Pita’s then you will like this place.

Tried the Pita Pit yesterday with my Partner. We were shopping downtown and got hungry as we were leaving the downtown area so we popped in. I was a little surprised at the décor. As Chuck B. pointed out, it was very garish and a little on the juvenile side. There were two staff behind the counter, both young women who appeared to have much better things to do than work at the Pita Pit. I perused their menu and noticed on the door there was an advertisement for their Gyro, Dagwood and Souvlaki Pita’s. I opted for the Souvlaki, and topped it with a Berry smoothie. I sat down at a table that was too small for adults, and waited. My partner remained at the ‘fixin’ counter. The next thing I know, I am being asked what I want in my pita. «Whatever is supposed to be in a Souvlaki» was my response. I got an eye roll from the gal behind the counter as she said; «It has whatever you want in it.» This struck me as odd, because certain named sandwiches have certain ingredients in them… this is why I ordered the Souvlaki in the first place, I didn’t want to decide what to put in my meal. After making a few selections of vegies and cheeses, I watched incredulously as the gal flung the ingredients into the pita. The result was that I received a pita that was layered and worked my way through those layers. I think that the Pita Pit is probably more busy on the weekdays as it sits directly across the street from Marion County Courthouse, so perhaps the Saturday staff are not so bright. It will be a while before I go back, because frankly, I wasn’t that impressed.

Love love love the Pita Pit. I don’t know what gastrointestinal distress everyone else is talking about, as I’ve always been fine afterward. I’ve only every ordered the falafel though, so maybe that has something to do with it. When I’m in a hurry and don’t want greasy garbage or bland Subway, I head to the Pita Pit. I love falafel and love that there’s a place in this town to get it quickly(other than my own kitchen).

ZERO stars! Stay away at all costs! I completely agree with the other negative reviews but would also like to add this: the service sucks with a capital S! I have not seen attitudes like I saw here anywhere else, and I travel quite a lot in the US and overseas. This chic at the register might as well work at the state prison with all her charms. While the food may at times be passable(and only then if you tell them how to make it every step of the way and make sure they cook the meat — seriously!) however even in Salem you can find much better food at decent prices. If you don’t mind undercooked and possibly cross-contaminated food, screw-you customer service, and waiting way too long to get your sandwich, you may not mind eating here. If on the other hand you like to be treated like a human being and you don’t want bozos cooking your food, go somewhere else. Really.
