Haven’t had a drink here that I didn’t like. The espresso and drip coffee are both excellent. I’m generally not a chai person, but I love theirs because it isn’t too sweet. The staff are friendly, and it’s a comfortable place to sit for a while. It can get pretty busy in the summer, but it’s never off-putting.

Excellent coffee, crankily served. Pros: Free bathroom access. Cute cold cups. Giant Scrabble game mounted to one wall. Inventive menu. Cons: $ 4.00 for a large iced coffee. OUCH. There are signs everywhere telling patrons what not to do(i.e., «Don’t arrange the chairs», «Don’t slam the door», «Don’t help yourself to a to-go cup(we charge for those)». UGH. Cranky, cranky servers. Me: «Hi, how are you?» Server: «Good.» Me: «I’ll have a medium iced coffee.» Server: «We have small and large.» Me(after paying): «Thanks! Have a great day!» Server: «Yup. Coffee will be on the bar.» UMM. Jaho, you nailed the coffee. Please focus on service. And maybe, on cleaning the bathrooms, stocking the retail shelves, and putting away all those fixtures you’re not using.

Great coffee shop with awesome desserts and other edibles. Stopped by with family for iced coffee which are delicious. Plenty of pastries and desserts were on display. My favorites are the six layer chocolate cake, red velvet cake and Boston cream pie. They have pizza selection as well.

I really want to like this place. I even waited until I went three times before writing a review… Twice(Both Saturdays) I could not find a place to sit, the majority of people seemed to be camped out with the laptop, notebooks out, really settling in for the season. Most with empty cups or cups that had been 15% full for what seemed like ages. One person even used a free chair as an ottoman. If only the espresso were so bold. Almost inexplicably there are no prices. On anything. I say«almost» because when my two turkey sandwiches and two drinks rang up for $ 30 I fully understood the gameplan. This is one of the times there was no place to sit. The staff seemed less than thrilled that they had to take my sandwiches back and wrap them to go. I think a polite sign about setting up mobile office space, and some honesty about prices would go a long way in this establishment. Maybe charge for wifi after 30 minutes? That’s not unreasonable at all. I gave them 2 stars because I enjoyed the bread while I ate my lunch in the car.

— Free wifi — Great décor — Good coffee — Staff is friendly — Great place to people watch We were here from NYC and needed some afternoon fuel! In other words, Caffeine and sugar! I’m so glad we went in here. It’s cute and looks like a great place to hangout on a lazy afternoon or early morning. Even a good place for a date. The pastries were decent. Try out the zodiac tea, really good. The female taking our order recommended the vanilla latte. It was surprisingly good! I am really looking forward to going back!

When I am in new cities for the first time I love to try out local coffee shops. This coffeeshop had a charm all of its own and I would recommend it to anybody. I had the chocolate croissant as well as a chai tea latte with coconut it was delicious and affordable. If you are in the Salem Massachusetts area looking for a copy shop you must try this place.

Food and drinks: 4 Stars Atmosphere: 5 Stars Cleanliness: 4 Stars Customer service: 3 Stars Lattes and bubble teas are delish! I also love there gelato! –But The older white haired gentleman that is charge of the place can be very very rude at times. I once sent back the gelato that I had only took one bit out and the guy threw A FIT. He literally started stabbing my gelato with the spoon saying«why do you order stuff you do not like»?! After that he made a remark about«Americans». After that I didn’t go back there for at least a year. Once I decided to give this place another chance I never had another issue with the customer service again.

This place used to be decent. Now the coffee is below mediocre and the staff isn’t welcoming. At least they changed the paneling on the walls? It’s busy on a Saturday morning, which is good. I hope it stays that way, but I won’t be coming back for a while.

I stopped in here and got an Iced Macchiato and got a Turtle Cheesecake slice as well, as it looked really good. It was NOT a mistake to get the turtle cheesecake as that was deliciously creamy and the caramel was delightful as well. The coffee was okay, but not outstanding for me personally. And the coffee was more than $ 4, so that’s a bit steep for me unless it’s Starbucks or Starbucks worthy.

Jaho is a nice hang out place my husband and I go to with relatives or friends who come visit. Great stop near Pickering Wharf! Sometimes just the two of us walk the neighborhood after a long day and end up here because it is one of the few places in Salem that’s open later hours during the week. We often wish there were more restaurants or coffee shops and businesses open after 6:00pm on week days… Other than just the month of October, when just about every business has longer hours into the evening. Jaho has some great little desserts that are always fresh. We tried another restaurant, I will leave nameless, and found some of the desserts to be well beyond two days old. Stale cookies that are impossible to chew. That won’t happen at Jaho! This is one of the reasons Jaho will stay in business for years to come. Fresh food! We love their coffee! If we’ve come late in the day, they will make fresh pots of regular and decaf and ask us to wait a few minutes. Worth the wait! I like the cinnamon and/or chocolate to sprinkle on my coffee. They offer soy milk, but you need to ask at the register and pour it there. Employees are gracious. Btw, they have fresh bananas by the register. Outside seating is nice!

The line moved sloooow. And the layout didn’t facilitate movement well which is bummer because it’s a large coffee shop. On the other hand the handmade cider was good.

I had a French toast latte which tasted like eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It was amazing! My husband had a pumpkin spice latte which I don’t care for but he kept raving how good it was with every drink! I also had a apples in a blanket which was okay and kinda lacked flavor. My husband had some peach turnover looking thing that we didn’t get the name of but was the BEST breakfast thing we’ve eaten in Salem.

Pros: Large space. Nice design. Lots of deserts. It’s definitely appealing space and good choice of what to eat :-). Cons: — coffee is overpriced. I tried their special Red Velvet coffee(hot) — small cup $ 5! And it was ok not to say below average. Disappointing. Especially for the price! Starbucks is cheap in comparison. So my recommendation: do not get any speciality coffee. Just regular black would do.

If there’s one word I would use to describe Jaho Coffee & Tea in Salem: pure, unparalleled serenity. Seriously, folks. It’s THAT good. My friends like to describe me as a coffee FREAK xD ! And I feel right at home in my natural habitat while I’m cozied up in the big easy chairs, sipping on a quad-shot maple pecan soy latte(bold, I know ;-}) The espresso here is simply sublime! I’m not afraid to admit that I can be a real stickler when it comes to my coffee drink being made right, and in the past I’ve had to berate a few dopey baristas, sometimes on a pretty personal level, just to get my drink made right at other coffee shops. NEVER at Jaho! These baristas are true espresso all-stars. Always kind and perfectly accommodating. I have a friendly rivalry going with one of the baristas who happens to be a Blackhawks fan(BOOOOOO!!! :p) Our witty banter is always a hoot and he makes delightful drinks. I give him a hard time but he knows it’s all in good fun. He’s sweet to me. The only one think that stink about Jaho(pronounced ya-ho! Btw) is that for whatever reasons there’s an old foreign man idk if he’s manager or wut but he seems to like yelling gobbledegook at the employees throwing them off. Not pleasant from a customer pov! They seem much more chill when he not there. Keep it up Jaho! My fav spot xD !!!

Quaint little coffee shop with a decent amount of seating and free wifi(not super great though). Jaho offers many unique drinks on the regular with seasonal specials written below on the counter. Lots of coffee, chai, tea, smoothie choices. They even have frozen hot chocolate! I wanted to be on the«healthier» side so I got the coconut chai latte($ 4). It was delicious, but a little on the sweet side before the ice melted a bit. The maple soy chai latte and seasonal specials also sounded good! My friend tried the mango green tea with honey($ 3+). This was perfect refreshing drink on a hot summer day. Plus: they have agave and honey for you to add to your drinks :]

We were here during Halloween so the streets were extremely busy! I was looking up different places to get red velvet hot chocolate because I had a craving for something sweet! For being at halloween in Salem it was not as super crazy as you would think it was. It was pretty organized. It was a the fluffiest hot chocolate I have ever had, so light. It didn’t even feel like there was anything in the cup. I like my hot chocolate a bit more heavier. On the plus side we were walking a lot that day and it didn’t give you that sugary drink belly. I think this place would be a good place to try especially if you like a light, silky drink that taste nice and sweet.

I could literary throw a quarter and hit a Dunkin Doughnuts here in Salem. Wish I could say the same for finding a coffee shop. Been sluggish lately. Came here because they advertised a white chocolate mocha with coconut on top. Sounded good, but it was rather sweet. I think it has to do with their white chocolate sauce. Just overpowers the coffee with sugar. I should have gotten their fresh lemonade instead.

I’m just obsessed with Jaho! I don’t like getting coffee anywhere else. My husband and I will drive out of our way to Salem to get a well crafted beverage instead of hitting up a more«convenient» option… where you run the risk of a drink being made poorly. I don’t care. It’s worth it. Also their selection of snacks make it a great place for quick bite… whether you want a BLT on a bagel, a Spanakopita or a seven layer bar… Jaho does not disappoint! My recent drink of choice has been the girl scout inspired Caramel Delight… mmmmmmmmm…yummy!!!
