I wasn’t super impressed by this cute little place. It’s cute, and local, and affordable. But I would have rather made a batch of cookies at home. The cookies here were good(except the chocolate crinkle, which didn’t even taste like chocolate), but how can you go horribly wrong with butter, sugar, and flour? I hate to say I could have made better cookies at home. The flavors were nothing special either. But! We did go on Finger Food Friday, so everything was half the size as they usually make(but 75% the price?). So maybe the recipes are a little off. I don’t really understand what’s extra fun about eating a cookie that’s half the size anyway. I hate how negative and harsh this review sounds. But it’s important that I’m honest…

I bet everyone says the same 3 words about this place. Cute Little Shop. I hadn’t had breakfast yet after my errands, and had a few minutes before my appt. at Brow Chic. I had a delicious CCC. I’m not really that adventurous when it comes to cookies either, but after checking the reviews I’ll branch out next time. I don’t plan on making a special trip, just when it’s time to get the brows done. Parking isn’t the greatest, but I got lucky today.

I was over in Merriam Park on my way to the gym and I didn’t want to work out on an empty stomach, so I popped in here. Because a cookie is the best thing to eat before the gym… right? The woman behind the counter was friendly as I asked her some questions about the cookies. After browsing I decided to go with one of their more popular flavors, chai latte. Each cookie is $ 1. While I liked the cookie itself, I didn’t taste the cardamom and cloves that I’d expect in a chai cookie. It basically tasted like a delicious cinnamon-sugar cookie. Next time you’re shopping in the area, this wouldn’t be a bad place to put something in your belly. Sugar rushes are great for shopping.

Notes: –The cookies are chewy and the ladies seem to like experimenting with new flavors. –My favorite is the chai latte. Each cookie is neither large nor small in size. They’re usually the size of a person’s palm with a lot of taste! –I usually buy them one at a time with a glass of milk or coffee as a Friday afternoon treat. Check the hours as they seem to be limited… –There is no seating. –Minimum purchase for credit cards. There’s an option to buy a cookie punch card, just in case you want a cookie in the future but don’t have a dollar handy.

Finally I found this place NEARLY open when I felt like dropping in(again) to try one of their cookies. Since it was so close to their opening time, I decided to wait for them to open their door. Once inside, I was warmly greeted and I asked which flavor would be more«crunchy» vs. soft. Chocolate chip was one of their more«crunchy» ones, so I bought one of those. It was good. A very nice treat. But a $ 1 for a cookie, I think, is a bit much. I’ guess I’ll just have to make myself a batch of homemade to satisfy the«crunchy» chocolate chip monster in me. (besides, I can freeze most of what I bake and then take out a few at a time to feed the monster…)

Two smart cookies is a CUTE little cookie shop with a great logo. I have loved every cookie I have tried. Delicious. You can pick them up or they have a cookie of the month thing you can set up for delivery. I love little independent shops like this. The cookies are more expensive than if you were to buy a pack of cookies from the grocery store($ 1 each or $ 10 a dozen), but to me it’s worth it knowing I’m supporting a small local neighborhood business. And they have several flavors you couldn’t find just anywhere. Worth checking out! It’s not open very late, so check the website for hours before you head over.

I live within a block from Two Smart Cookies, and this is a near daily visit for me. They have a daily menu of classics, like Snickerdoodles, Chocolate Chip(like mom used to make), Peanut Butter Hideaways(soft chocolate cookie with peanut butter in the center), etc. These are all certainly great, but the sweets really shine for the weekly specials. Red Velvet Cookies are my favorite. I could eat them until I looked like a beet. The Rhubarb Bars are insanity, the crust is particularly good. They really can’t do wrong. But beyond the goods, the service is the best of any establishment you’ll ever go. These two wacky broads should be on television. They are extremely nice and just as sweet as their baked goods. If you like sweets, support these awesome local businesswomen.

There is nothing better than walking up to the counter at Two Smart Cookies. All the choices are good; you can taste the real butter and general homemade-ness in the cookies. I’ve had the hermits, the chai latte, and the triple ginger. Service is fast and friendly. There’s no seating in the shop, fyi.

These are some damn good cookies! Flavors include Triple Ginger, Chai Latte(amazing!), Mexican Chocolate, Cardamom Tea Cakes, Frosted Malted, Pistachio Craisin and all the good ol’ standards like Chocolate Chip and Snickerdoodle to boot. At $ 12 per dozen these are worth every penny and would make a sweet(pun intended) birthday, hostess or just-because gift. Stop in to their darling little shop on Snelling or if you’re lucky catch the concession stand at the Ordway and various other theaters where their goodies typically show up.

Two Smart Cookies are run by the two nicest gals — always friendly and funny and working their butts off! Their St. Paul space is quaint, simple, but charming. Their cookies and bars are SOOO tasty and good and melt in your mouth. Hope you’re lucky enough to hit the shop right when they’ve taken a tray out of the oven. I’m a huge fan of their mocha brownie! They can handle big orders too as they often make batches for several theatres and other larger companies in town.

A co-worker of mine brought in treats today. She was smart enough to get a dozen cookies from Two Smart Cookies. Which reminds me that I have to get my ass over to the Snelby are and chow down! (oh, did I mention the cookies are excellent?)
