Airports are, in my definition, purely a conglomerate mess of confusion, poor design and paranoia-obsessed officials. It would be a tough argument to say that they didn’t serve a purpose, even a good one, but an airport is never a destination; instead it is simply a means of conveyance from Point A to Point B. In normal life experiences, the truth of «The joy is in the journey» can be practiced and believed, but only on the departure or complete omission of one of these hubs of dread. Now to illustrate a polar opposite of the aforementioned subject, we shall attempt to express the qualities and distinctions that are the defining components of a specialty coffee house. First and foremost, it is an environment that generates love and friendship. Not quite true. Before that, it is a place that has drink quality and selection far beyond comparison to what the water fountains and Coke machines lining the halls of said airport have to offer. It is an environment that incubates the needed and existing chemical elements to the flourishment and hatchation of groundbreaking ideas and plans. It is a place that soothes the soul and calms the mind. And it is a place that invigorates mind and spirit when such treatment is needed. The world’s problems are solved behind a good cup of coffee. Synesso Cyncra. Mazzer grinders. V60 pour-over gear. Spyhouse Coffee. Caffe Vita coffee. In other words, the coffee(2016 Good Food Award winner Spyhouse Ethiopia Suke Quto) that is vying for a place in the top five Most Enjoyable Coffees I’ve Brewed at Home, should not have been obtained at an airport.

this is the worst coffee i’ve ever payed for, we asked for cold coffee, no ice, got all ice and shi! Ty coffee maybe 4 oz., of coffee, we ordered a 20oz. Coffee! Well at least there wasn’t a lot of the crappy coffee to drink! What a waste of 7.00 + tip.

Really decent cup of coffee can be had right here at Terminal 1MSP Airport. Woke up at Zero Dark Thirty this morning in San Diego and flew into Minneapolis on serious caffeine withdraw. Rolling through the terminal on auto pilot, i figured i’d hat one of the familiar spots(Caribou, Starbucks, Dunn Bros, etc.), but this place just popped right in front of me and figured i’d take a chance(after all in my condition, a primo double shot of espresso and correctly steamed milk was absolute paramount to kicking off my visit successfully). Yes, the kind bro behind the counter, and the bright and cheery woman operating the espresso machine, took damn good care of the situation. Thank You World Bean, i’ll be back…

For all the hype, the coffee disappoints. The cappuccinos are large, the coffee is slightly burnt.

Best espresso ever. Can really taste the quality of the beans. I wish there was a World Bean on the west coast :/

World Bean… where do I begin? They’re tucked away at the far end of the G terminal and it’s well worth the walk down there if you have some time between flights. There’s usually a wait no matter when you go because they are just that good. I had a delightful almond milk latte and their breakfast pastries are superb. Highly recommend it you don’t mind a walk down to the end of the G gates and want an excellent cup of coffee! It’s well worth it!

I’m pampered by having no fewer than three Starbucks stores within a block of my office and consider myself a big fan. That said I do like to try different coffee places from time to time. While at the airport today I grabbed a half syrup Carmel latte at World Bean. It was rich and satisfying without being too sweet. I’d come back here again and thoroughly enjoyed my Carmel latte at a reasonable price!

Perfect espresso drinks, black coffee that’s swoon worthy, and fresh pastries. WHAT?! in an airport?! ZOMG. World Bean gets me excited for early morning Delta Flights. Pastries are warm in the morning(try the apple fritter — I dare you) and very reasonably priced. Yes, it’s all the way at the end of a REALLY long hallway. It’s worth the trip!

Far and away the best espresso in any airport I’ve ever had. They offer a choice of roasts/beans and have tallented baristas behind semiautomatic machines. If you appreciate good coffee it’s worth the walk.

Helpful travel tip and a great way to save money– World Bean gives free refills on coffee! If you are going to be in an airport for awhile and love/need your coffee, I highly recommend getting it from them. The staff is always friendly and the coffee is always fresh!

Best latte at the airport that I had. Not the greatest in the state, but it was worth going from terminal E toward the far end of terminal G, i.e. a very long trip!

Very good coffee, especially for an airport. It is unfortunately also the only place to get a decent cup, so I had to walk all across the airport, but still totally worth it. On top of that I got friendly and quick service. Great!

I had some time, so I walked and rode moving walkways far away from my gate to try this place. It seemed normal. I got a mocha. I took a sip. What happened next you may not believe, but I swear every word is true. Something in my head told me to look up when someone shouted to look up. A small, glowing fairy descended from the heavens/ceiling panels with a cassette boom box on its shoulder playing Take On Me. It hung there in the concourse for what felt like minutes but upon checking later discovered was just minute. The fairy opened its mouth wide and rays of golden light at flashlight intensity poured out, washing my soul in a warm, moist cinnamon breath smell which was okay I guess. It slowly spun two spins to the right, then two spins to the left, then one to the right, then one left. Maybe another to the right but at this point it isn’t consequential. You get that there was spinning involved. Then the fairy ascended, squeezed its wrist and started emitting a white sort of smoke out of what can only be described as a «magic mouth stick» while it bumped its head on the ceiling and climbed awkwardly through a ceiling panel. There was a series of bumps and panel bits falling down as the mystical being moved about up there for a bit. But then, yes, you guessed it, with a plasticky click and abrupt stop to music – stillness, and it was gone – poof, just like that in about two minutes, and everything went back to normal airport feel. Sometimes in life we are blessed by something so magical, so unexplainable, that all we can do is write about it in a Unilocal review. If this same thing happens to you at Taste Of World Bean in Concourse G, please, let me know. Let us all know.

There is no reason to settle for Starbucks or Caribou when there is a coffee shop, World Bean, at the MSP Airport that actually knows how to make a proper espresso drink. Trust me it’s worth the walk to the end of the G– Concourse. I plan a few extra minutes every time I fly out to ensure I can enjoy a perfectly made Café Miel.

Out of all the coffee places(Carribou included) Taste of World Bean is by far the best coffee in the Midwest. I come from a land of coffee snobs, Williamsburg Brooklyn. By me there is at least fifty hipster coffee shops in my area. I am pretty sure I’ve had decent coffee. Trekking off the plane in MSP airport with a whole day of travel ahead of me, I was really needing a pick me up. The latte art on their Unilocal business page really drew me into trying this spot. The man who helped me knew his beans, although all I really went for was an iced latte. A small squeeze of simple syrup made it just right. My second trip here was my return flight. It never fails that my flight is delayed back to JFK, so I followed the modern G path back over to Taste of World Bean and was welcomed by the same man, and ordered an Iced Green Tea Latte. It was good, but not as great as the Iced Coffee Latte which I plan on sticking with next time I’m around.

I wish there was more than one in the airport! When I am in G concourse this is my spot to go to get my morning addiction. If you like designs in your latte, they do it! Great tasting coffee for a decent price(for and airport). They also offer a bunch of options for breakfast and snacks. They have a wall of pastries and I noticed they added oatmeal and dessert options(too early in the morning or I would have indulged).

Absolutely surprised to find such great coffee in the MSP airport. Definitely worth the walk from wherever you arrive to get to World Bean near the end of the G Concourse. They grind fresh for each cup, offer two varieties of beans and had Cortado on the menu.

Flying out of Bismarck means I usually arrive and depart from the C concourse but make the trek to the World Bean every time. One one hand I understand the size complaint, but need to point out that no matter where you go, most people only get two, maybe three shots of espresso so what you get at Starbucks or Caribou is just a whole lot more milk and no fantastic coffee or any of the care that goes into each pour. When you order a drink with an extra shot the World Bean doesn’t skimp, they will offer you four as that is what they extract. Try getting that from the big boys. If you actually enjoy your coffee, this is the place to go. Never burnt and always an experience. As for their pace, now that they are in their new location and have stopped offering their smoothies(too bad), the serving pace is quite speedy now, so don’t let that stop you.

Okay place down on the G Concourse. A large coffee is more like a medium other places. Regular brew is good & smooth.
