Hank’s Riverwalk Grill

The reviews don’t lie. This place has horrible food. Service was good but food was awful. Save your money and eat elsewhere. Place was nearly empty and for good reason.

I had eaten here awhile back and it was great. Went back last Saturday to try it again and so sorry we did. I had a rib-​eye which was under cooked and had probably been thawed and refrozen 3 times… It was soft mush and rare. Hmmm, I have many times in the past eaten rare i don’t mind it just prefer medium rare. This steak wasn’t close, and a very bad steak. My wife had the salmon… Wow same cook apparently, very under cooked. We cut off the ends and sent the rest back. It was ok after that. The salad was completely drenched in dressing, which was good, but who needs a cup left in the bowl when your done.
I will not ever be back or recommend this place again.

It’s not everyday you can come to a restaurant and be greeted by three servers as good friends as well as customers. This restaurant has that feel of coming back to a friendly place, not fancy but good surroundings, with linen napkins and fine flatware. The menu is solid ranging from simple hamburgers (done just right) to prime rib fillet! Not only is the food excellent with delicious salads and sides but the entire meal is very ample. Plan on taking home some food that will taste as good the next day as an appetizer or full meal. The view from the patio is stunning with Pine Valley Mountain in clear view. When you combine the quality food, the amount of the food, the ambiance of warm folks, great view and fine service, this place is… ‘as good as it gets!“

There is something to be said for an establishment that compels one to sign up with Unilocal for the sole purpose of leaving a review. That being said, I was excited to try this restaurant after reading the reviews. My wife and I have now tried it twice, I can say we will not be going back. The food tastes like the pre frozen, bulk packaged, slop that so many resign themselves to cooking when they lack creativity. The adorable young bartender had no idea how to make my wife’s drink, i wonder how they qualify their help. But the food and drinks, unfortunately not the worst of it. Throughout the dinner we had to listen to the manager yelling at and degrading her poor servers. This is not an environment in which I would recommend spending money.

Customer service is just as important as the food.

We went for lunch there today. We decided to eat in the bar/​lounge. After being shown to a table and given menus, we were ignored.
The servers were busy talking to each other including the bartender.
A couple of ladies came into the lounge and were immediately asked what they wanted to drink.
We were treated as if we were invisible.
We got up and announced we were leaving.
Events like this stick with you for a long time.
Not sure if we will come back.
The staff needs more training. The customer comes first!

The scene at Hank’s Riverwalk is spacious, country club dinning-​like, with dark wood décor and windows giving views to the golf course. The staff is attentive, friendly, and professional. The menu is similar, close to exact as Oscars, but the flavor does not compare.
Hank’s fish tacos, overall are ok — do not expect to have the same, «wow these are delicious» experience you may savor at Oscars. Oscar’s fish taco marinade is tangy and tacos filled with fresher greens, pico, and cheese and this is missing at Hanks. The greens at Hanks, whether in salads or topping the tacos, had the «salad out of a bag smell».
I will definitely go back to Hanks, but will get the Chile Verde burrito or one of burgers off the giant burger menu.

Really good food, especially the twice-​baked southwestern potatoes. Pleasant weather and view from the patio. Friendly, helpful server.

Always a treat to eat at Hanks. Service is good food is plentiful. Value is excellent at this Restaurant at a golf course.

I can’t speak for the food, sadly, because I left after having the misfortune of meeting our server. He had no name tag and did not give his name, but he was probably in his 20s and had black-​framed hipster glasses. He took over 15 minutes to get to our table and did not apologize, but that’s minor here. After I ordered a vegan menu item, he tried to get into an argument with me about my diet. He actually placed both of his hands on the table, leaned in toward my face and said, «I loooooove steak.» He also insisted that I needed to eat cheese and repeatedly asked for our (I was with my mom, a vegetarian) opinions on the nutritional value of fish after we said we didn’t want to talk about it. My mom had to insist that he just take our order and go before he finally stopped. We briefly discussed how appalled we were before deciding to leave. As we grabbed our bags and jackets, he came back to ask me if honey is vegan because it’s in the sauce. So not only does this place hire horrible servers, they also falsely advertise vegan menu items.
I’m overall pretty bummed, I was really looking forward to eating here.

YUCK! The worst service I have ever experienced. Half of our party never got their drinks, the ones that did never got refills, our plates were never cleared and it took forever to get our bills. I’m not coming back for a long while…

Read so many great reviews about Chef Imi. We were so excited to go to this restaurent after reading wonderful things about this Chef …

Huge disappointment…

Maybe I was like Bud, a previous reviewer, and came on an off night. I had the fish tacos which the waitress recommended. The fish was unseasoned and dry and the tortillas were hard and stale. The salsa and the limes were dried out… I could barely finished one. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? The view is great and I loved the atmosphere but I wouldn’t come back for the over priced «gourmet» food.

Relaxing atmosphere and great service. Me and my family came in on Veterans Day and just a great time. The food was nothing short of delicious. I had the green pork tamales. Very tasty and fresh. Also enjoyed the nice view. Our server was very attentive and offered quick and Great service. My wife and sisters are very picky when it comes to how they preferred their meals, I was impressed on how she got all the orders Correct without any meals being returned.

Went there with our family and had a amazing dinner… Everything we had was top notch including the service. Can’t wait to go back and eat on the patio!

My husband and I took my parents to dinner at their favorite restaurant, Riverwalk Grill, located within their community. I have to say I was a little skeptical, but it was their choice and our treat. The location is lovely with a nice atmosphere, not award winning design, but nice. The hostess was very accommodating and seated us at a table that was easy for my Dad to navigate to with a walker. Service was very pleasant, but a little bit like a coffee shop rather then a nice restaurant. The food was prepared and cooked to perfection. The Chilean sea bass was delicious and the châteaubriand was perfectly cooked. The food is prepared in a simple, but very well executed manner. Chef Ini also came to the table to insure our meals met our expectations and made my parents feel like special guests. Lovely dinner.

Based on the other reviews I almost feel bad writing my review and I wonder if they just had an off night — but the food was just not that good. I had the lamb shank, which was supposedly braised for hours, but it was dry and hard and just not that good. The rice pilaf on the side was dry and tasteless. If as much care went into preparing the food as presenting the food I find it hard to believe the food wouldn’t taste better.
I also found it odd that as groups of people entered or exited the main dining area the floor bounced and shook. It was weird. It made me question the quality of the entire development. And the décor of the place is straight up awful. To be fair, the service was quite good, but I just don’t see myself ever wanting to go back.

My wife and i have eaten here several times. The food is always excellent, the presentation beautiful, and the taste is great.
A very good meal for the cost, we consider it a real bargain. The golf course around the building is beautiful. The chef is available and always ready to answer any question. We highly recommend this fine dining experience.

We found this place on Unilocal… With no reservation, the Chef met us at the the door and made us feel right at home. Not even knowing we were on our way to get married, he instantly agreed to give us his best wine by glass (usually bottle only) and personally explained the menu. Once he found out about our engagement, he gave me a rose and a BEAUTIFUL dessert. On the house, with «congratulations» written in chocolate on the plate!!!
He made our visit so special even before he found out about our wedding!!! And by the way… The food was TOP NOTCH!!!

Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. The evening had a great start when our waitress made me a very tasty Manhattan. Gotta love a girl who knows her whiskey. The Alaskan salmon could not have been fresher. It was easily one of the best meals I have ever had at a restaurant. I really enjoyed the chef’s visiting with us and the other tables. He and our waitress really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meals.
When I first looked at the menu, I thought the prices were a little on the high side for St. George. However, when I finished my meal, I thought it was worth every penny. Delicious!
