Once again, cannot go wrong. The pizza is the real deal. And we love the salad. The crust is perfect. Eat in the restaurant to get the fresh taste and slight crunch of the crust. So glad to see Bella Marie’s holding strong and true to their good food!!! And I still love the inside of the restaurant, great place.

You simply cannot go wrong with the take-out chicken parm meal! This meal consists of a nicely seasoned/breaded chicken breast with generous amounts of their homemade marinara sauce, which I can’t get enough, and your choice of pasta, I prefer the penne while my wife usually gets the linguini or angel hair, It also includes a house salad with your choice of dressing and their fresh baked bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A very satisfying meal that we get several times a month!

The manager of Bella Maria sent me a less than cordial private message, which I included along with my response to it. I think it helps explain my negative experience. «Mr. Garlic Knot, thank you for coming in. It would be nice if you know you’d want to order 7 lunch specials, you should have called in advance especially if you want it fast. You see, we are not a chain restaurant and everything we do here is from-scratch. That’s why our food is very unique to the town and popular. Except for the lunch specials, we do several pies for lunch customers and for very good price. That’s why they run out fast. When you came and the slices weren’t enough for your order, the server asked if you could order whole pizzas because either way at that moment I needed to make more pizza pies for the slices. For that reason you were going to wait. And as far as garlic knots, since they’re each made by hand from scratch by our servers, once they’re out for lunch, another batch will be done sometime after serving customers for lunch. At that moment they where not even close to finished and the servers were still doing more important things helping and serving all customers. I understand that everything for you must be done NOW; but SAM, sometimes that’s not how the world works and maybe with a little understanding and patience this would of been different. As far as management, you should address your issue to the manager when you were in the restaurant instead of running back to your office writing this ridiculous review because obviously, all you cared was your need, not understanding how our restaurant works with all our employees working at the moment like crazy attending everyone’s and not just ONE’S person’s needs. My name is Richard,(THEMANAGER.) Ask for me next time instead of running away and writing this unfair review. Thank you.» Though I find your message condescending I think you made some good points. I was a bit harsh on you. I’ll give you a a bonus star as an act of good faith. You’re right I should have called ahead for a large order. Maybe ‘should’ is too strong a word as you can’t expect calls from all your big orders. Having worked in the industry, it’s a luxury when that happens. The server did not offer the option of buying whole pizzas, at least not at first. She said, «These are all the pizzas we make for lunch» That is the most worrisome part, I hope you bake according to need. It was after your server told me this that I ordered the pizzas, which is a fair compromise. It still didn’t satisfy the drink orders that come with the specials, but I digress. From your comment I assume this is not the way you actually handle lunch rushes but this is what I was told and the way it happened. You accused me of not knowing much about how the world or restaurants work, but I have worked in the restaurant industry. The added fact that I’m a food blogger doesn’t hurt either and I’ve lived in the world almost my whole life. Your remarks that I’m one of those guys that needs it all«NOW» is inaccurate. I was more than willing to wait, which is why I ended up ordering the whole pizzas. But after I was told no again, referring to the garlic knots, it was evident there was a disconnect and that’s when I asked for a refund for the specials I’d ordered. In your message you said that I should have brought my complaint to management rather than running away and writing this unfair review. I brought it up with management when I asked for my refund and that’s when you came over, gave me my refund, the 3rd degree, & walked away without saying a word. I honestly expected an interaction, maybe«How can I help you?» or «Sorry we couldn’t meet your needs, come see us again soon», but I could tell you weren’t in the mood. I eat at a pizza place in SLC that offers a similar lunch special. Sometimes they can’t keep up with the rush. They once told me, «we’re out of pepperoni right now, do you mind waiting while a pepperoni bakes?»(I always wait for my pepperoni) That is a great example of how to handle a lunch rush. I’ve also ordered garlic knots there before on several occasions and actually waited for them to be made. In researching of your restaurant I see that most people love your food and for that I commend you. Pizza is difficult to mess up yet many restaurants manage to find a way some how. Seriously, thank you for taking pride in pizza. The only bad reviews I saw were about wait time(which I agree is ridiculous for the quality you are trying to achieve. Within reason of course.) or are directed at your servers or you, sometimes by name. I know it’s hard to hear negative things about yourself and your restaurant, but perhaps rather than bullying your customers who give less than favorable reviews you can tack that it up as a learning experience and improve next time. Or even make it worth their while to return. Sincerely, Mr. Garlic Knot

We tried BellaMarie’s the night before the marathon. We had a great experience. The staff was great & attentive. The food is fresh & well executed. 2 of us had the Chicken Marsala & the third ordered the spaghetti with marinara. Of the dishes, I think the spaghetti was the best, but the Marsala was tasty as well. The Marsala flavor was great, but I think they thickened it with corn starch & used a touch too much? The owner was incredibly friendly & checked on all her customers. I would love to try the pizza next time. It’s so nice to see local eateries in St. George & I will definitely be back!

After two weeks out West we were looking for a pizza fix. Happy to say we found Bella Maria’s. Crust was fresh made and delicious. Just the right thickness and a bit crispy on the bottom but not burnt at all. We had the eggplant and roasted red pepper pizza. Vegetables nicely roasted and sauce was delicious. My husband also had an order of spicy buffalo wings which he said were perfect. Nice and spicy but not too hot as to overpower them. They were served as hot wings should be with celery and creamy blue cheese. Worth the trip. If you enjoy a drink with dinner be aware they do not serve alcohol.

Bella Marie’s is one of my favorite Italian places here in town. The food is consistently good, and I love their unique menu items. My favorite dishes are the chicken piccata and the harvest pizza.

My girl and I were visiting from out of town when we stopped by here. She got the seafood pasta and I ordered the spicy pig with pineapple pizza. She was really impressed with the NY-style crust, as she’s been looking for a Westcoast counterpart to Grimmaldi’s for forever. The owner came by to check on us and make sure we were happy with our food. She told us her partner was an Eastcoast import! No wonder the pizza was bomb. We’ll be back the next time we’re in St George.

We used Unilocal to choose this place for dinner. Nice atmosphere and the staff is friendly enough. We originally ordered the chicken wings as our appetizer, but they were out. So we reluctantly settled for Chicken Fingers. They ended up being pretty good — they are hand breaded with their own breading and it was obvious they were fresh. Our pizza order was the Spicy Pig. I think the jalapeños were a little too overpowering. They did something that I haven’t seen before; they put diced jalapeños on the pizza. Not a bad touch and spreads the jalapeños around the pie. What I didn’t care for is that the jalapeños seemed like pickled from a jar. I prefer fresh jalapenos, even if diced. Overall, a pretty good experience and pretty good food.

A+: Mussel and bacon appetizer — flavorful and steamed to perfection A: Margherita pizza — fresh and delicious A: Sweet sausage and green bell peppers over linguine — Just the right portion; the sauce was tasty and didn’t smother the other ingredients C: Calamari appetizer — overcooked and rubbery A: Service — friendly, prompt, and helpful

Stopped here with my wife and five kids(ages 12 and under) after spending the day at Mount Zion. We were all starving and couldn’t wait to eat something both healthy and filling. We ordered garlic bread, a cheese pizza, a pepperoni pizza, and a cheesesteak salad. MARIE spent a considerable amount of time hanging out with us. She was super sweet. She even brought the kids over an order of garlic knots. They devoured the knots and bread rather quickly. When the pizza and salad came, we figured that we would be taking home some leftovers. However, the entire meal was amazing and the group devoured both pizzas and the salad. Even our picky, light eating ten year old went to town on three pieces of pizza. Overall, I am not sure if we will ever get back to the area, but we certainly would visit again if the opportunity would arise.

The crust!!! Omg was the pizza delicious. Made my own pizza and the dough was supremely delicious. My friend got chicken piccata and so citrusy and delicious. This little place is so homey. Marie sometimes shows up to greet guest and talk to them, that was the cherry that top it off. Thank you such great food and information. This is a staple when you visit St. George Utah.

Visited Bella Marie’s after a great day of hiking in Zion National Park. We arrived around 730 on Monday night… both of us looking forward to some good Italian food. Unaware of the food options, we of course used trusty Unilocal to select this place based on the good reviews. I order traditional Spaghetti(chose Farfalla for my pasta option) with Meat Sauce while my friend had the same with Italian Sausage. Both were very flavorful… served with bread and a side salad. Prices were reasonable and the service was good… only downside is the place is bit dark and the driveway to enter is a bit difficult to find. Give this one a shot!
