Went to Uncle Joe’s Bar&Grill for lunch today and will never go back. I have always enjoyed their nachos, quick service, and outside seating(in the summertime). After our visit at lunch today, I have some major concerns and will never go back to Uncle Joes. Not only was the food horrible but the servers actions were not acceptable and break a number of health codes. First review, the food. We ordered the nachos as an appetizers. The chips were stale, the cheese was out of a can, and the meat had no flavor to them. Our sandwiches arrived hot, but the«Fried Chicken Sandwich» was 2 overcooked chicken tenders on a small bun from the Dollar Store. Service: At times during the summertime, service was sometimes slower because the restaurant was full. This visit, there were only two other tables at the bar… the server took it upon herself to enjoy her lunch in front of the rest of the patrons, play on her cell phone. To end our lunch we then watched the waitress FLATIRON her hair behind the bar in full view of all patrons… she then brushed out her hair and dropped the hair on the floor. We will not be back to this location! It is very disappointing to see a restaurant go down hill so fast. Management needs to step in and review policy and procedures with all employees… flat ironing your hair behind the bar is never acceptable.

Stopped in to have a cold beer and dinner while at a conference in St. Charles. Waitress was awesome, she was really busy, yet still found time to take care of us well. I had the chicken wings with cashew sauce and raviolis, neither was worth writing home about and I didn’t finish either. Friend had the waffle fries and said they were mediocre. If you’re stopping here for a beer and a view of the river it’s a go, but if you’re looking for a meal… I would find somewhere else.

Awesome place to sit on the deck, enjoy the view, and enjoy the food.

Food was OK — basic bar food. The food was expensive for the location, and I was not impressed. The service, however, was top notch. You hate to tell a great waiter that the food is bland. All in all, we probably won’t go back. There are too many better places on the block.

Stopped by this place after 2 other attempts to find a place to eat on Main Street(RT Weilers and Tony’s both suck). We were seated quickly, waitress was great. We ordered the special of the day, chicken gumbo and cajun chicken. The food was absolutely delicious. We really enjoyed it. And yes, they are allowed to smoke in there but I didn’t see anyone smoking during the day. Great food and great service!

Fun place. But they still allows smoking inside. Probably won’t go back because of it. Pretty discussing. It’s 2014 get with it.

It’s bar food so enough said. I was somewhat disappointed with my house chips. If you go to the trouble of making a chip, do it right. These were overcooked and oily and in broken bits like at the bottom of a chip bag. Be prepared to stay a while cause service is slow.

Had a big group of people in here; pizza, burgers, and wings were excellent! The patio was wonderful! Would recommend highly!

Thought we would get a good burger at this bar, boy were we wrong. Black and blue burger(blue cheese) was a burger with blue cheese salad dressing on it. Fries were room temp and burgers are obviously big box wholesale pre-packaged. Not sure why they ask how you want it they were only served well done. No wonder there were only two other tables in the place with people seated. We should have turned around when we almost lost our shoes due to the stickiness of the floor! Too many choices on Main Street to pick this one.

I have been here twice and has the daily lunch special each time. It was excellent both times. I highly suggest this place!

We found this place on a whim. We were looking for somewhere that wasn’t fast food but was fairly quick. Stumbled on Uncle Joe’s. we tried the turkey triple decker club and the french dip and homemade chips. The club was good, nothing to write home about. The chips were decent. The french dip was delicious! Service was pretty good. Average bar service. Overall pretty good place to eat and have a few drinks.

When visiting St. Charles I make it a habit to visit a new restaurant on Main Street each time. I can’t remember when this check-in was, but I do know that I watched a Cards vs. Brewers game so it wasn’t too long ago. For a shotgun restaurant/bar it was alright. I was a little turned off because they still allow smoking in there? Not a fan of smoking and eating. I don’t think there were any specials the night I went. I was in the mood for some wings and I saw that Uncle Joe had cashew teryaki wings on the menu… yes, cashew and teryaki for wings! Sold. I had to try them and I am so glad I did. They were like nothing I have ever had before. Hot, juicy, and delicious! Great concept Joe! I’ll be back for more. We also ordered the pretzels with cheese dip… also very good. Surprisingly good. I know we sat inside that night, but I heard others were sitting outside on the patio… it was too cold for me that night! On our way out the door after the game the waitress offered us some«cake balls» that she had made. How sweet! Great way to end the visit. I will make it back again, just not sure when. I’m glad I went and I’m glad I tried something new. Nothing negative to report…

Friendly shotgun bar & nice 2 level deck was the setting. Lindenwood University kids(over 21, but still young) on up to the white hair guy that gives ghost tours in St Chuck being the energetic Wednesday karaōke crowd. While this place seems to be more filled with WASP college crowd, I was still comfortable and had fun. The $ 4 domestic pitchers(Bud Select) and no cover helped. Weird thing… Men’s room is downstairs. Only 1 big guy in a security shirt was present, but when an argument started to happen 3 more guys stepped up and backed him with the problem(kicked both parties out). These other guys were in plain clothes, but all 4 worked as a team and seemed to know each other well(my guess– they worked there on the more crowded weekends).
