So I’m visiting the area for a short while & I decided to get my natural hair twists redone so I walked in for an appointment & was told to come back later that day. When I got there I was told that she would have to stop my hair & split her time between me & another client coming in a bit later, ok whatever. I asked her what other protective styles I can get & it was like I was speaking another language to her, a fellow black naturalist. I turned down her suggestion to get cornrows, box braids, & starter dreads(her specialty) & decided to stick with 2 strand twists again(like I had a choice). Now to the hair process… The wash was horrible because she kept pulling at the back of my hair & it felt like she didn’t even touch the middle during the washing process. However, the deep conditioner she gave me was on point. Then the twisting process,(sigh)…She did an awesome job getting my twists to stretch out & not bounce back into the springy coils it loves so much but she did not allow my ends to curl. She pulled them straight! When I asked to have them curl she says she can’t do that & if I wanted them curly I could go across the street to buy flexy rods so she could do them since she had none… Really?! Now I have to finish the job for her at home… won’t be going back or recommending her, Adrienne Pore, to anyone.

It started when I decided to go natural in June when I hair off for a fresh start and to be relaxer free but fast forward 6 months and my hair has grown significantly but now what do I do with it??? My son’s barber’s sister came recommended. Sandy is a very talented, humble young lady. She’s quick and by appointment only which I absolutely love. Her brother, my son’s barber, also a gifted and talented young man. This spot is Farmers Blvd’s best kept secret… The price is right and near public transportation and plenty of street parking. I will definitely be going back there!!!
