Unfortunately my first visit wasn’t my last, do the fact I let the«stylist» hack off all my hair. She burned me with the perm and cut my hair horribly. Her attitude was piss poor for someone running an establishment. I could barely ask the b%tch for a mirror to see the back part of the style. Thankfully I’m with a real stylist whom I love doing my hair. I gave her 3 strikes she failed each time.

I use to go to this individual back at impulse and never really experienced her negative attitude until she opened her own shop. It’s understandable to go through your struggles while opening a new shop all alone, but to bring them upon your LOYAL customers is unacceptable! She is extremely unprofessional, always on the phone while doing your hair and not actually starting your hair until 2 hours after your appointment! There’s no reason why I should hear about my hair stylist horrible love life while getting my hair done! It even got to the point where she had to excuse herself from doing my hair because she started crying because one of her so called friends brought her son to a man she was supposedly seeing shop for a hair haircut! Another thing is while she was doing my hair one day, my mom came in and was waiting for me, this lady had the nerve to walk up to my mom and ask her to stop watching her while she puts the tracks in my hair because she doesn’t like when people watches her do hair! That was completely immature and out of line Another time she supposedly forgot to charge a customer for a deep conditioner and didn’t remember until after the customer left. Can you believe she called the customer and told them they need to come back and pay her the $ 15! Sometimes you just have to take a lost miss Overall she’s rude and nasty. Let’s not forget she’s not consistent with her prices either! Every single time I went to her to get a weave, there’s a new girl braiding and washing my hair; I only went to her on Sundays! She can’t keep customers or employees!

I got a virgin perm last November from this hair salon and it came out nice. Tameika added a track to give my hair more body. I was pleased with the results. I mostly wear extenstions but wanted to see how my hair would look out. My sister’s friend referred me here. The prices are low to moderate. I found the ladies in here to be friendly. The décor and wood flooring is really nice. Tameika is stern which may come across as a bit«much» if you’re not the type to speak up for yourself in the moment. I do think though that its unnecessary to post a sign saying no cell phones in the stylist’s chair but hey it’s her place, not mine. I went here 3 – 4 times only stopping because I’ve since started to maintain my own hair. Good R&B music is often playing or the tv is on. I was able to catch up on Nikita one Friday night! I would say ingnore the bad reviews and see for yourself. Yes, I would recommend Passions.

I came here recently by recommendation from a close friend. After giving her chance after chance I was tired of feeling like my business was not appreciated. If you can look past her bad attitude she is very talented. Was never unsatisfied with my weave. I let her do my hair for only a few months because I had witnessed her bad mouth customers in the salon to her helper and other customers and her bad attitude one too many times. Makes me wonder what she says about me when I’m not there. There have been plenty of instances where she gave me attitude and I let it slide. In her defense, you cant please everybody and I think she is just not aware of how rude she comes off but when you are running a business you must realize people are sensitive to your mannerisms. When you stand there and talk about customers behind their back that only makes YOU look bad. I wish her the best because she is talented but there is way too much competition out there for her act the way she does. She isn’t the only one who can sew a weave. If she continues to be rude and talk about people behind their backs the business will suffer. People will stop coming.

My First visit to Passions n sat in Tameika’s chair. I told her the type of cut i wanted and gave her the freedom to style my hair as she liked. She didn’t believe this was possible since she had never done my hair b4? Customer service is lacking in that in addition to what I already stated, it seemed whatever I requested was ignored in some way. My cut was terribly uneven, my edges were left untouched and without curl or bump the cut looked amateur. Normally after my style wears out i can wear my short cut, flat. Due to the poor cut, this wasn’t possible. Review update: I rec’d a call from Tameika saying she read the comments. I would have to say, that by the call alone she at least raises her stars with me. She didn’t agree and still didn’t get what I meant, but this has to be a sign of someone who wants better for her business.

I went to Tameika’s salon a few times to get services and was pleased with the end result, but as previous Unilocaler’s have wrote her attitude is not pleasant at all and in order to run a business you MUST have a positive attitude for people to want to continue to support your business.

Wow!!! Didn’t even have to go to the actual salon for this woman’s rudeness! I call to arrange several services and not only am I told I would have to supply my OWN products but that since I’m questioning why a salon wouldn’t have said supplies I was told to «take my business elsewhere»!! Unbelievable!!! AVOIDAVOIDAVOID!!!

For years now, people keep asking me where I do my hair, how did it grow so long and healthy– and its been the same answer for over 5years now– I go to Tameika. When Tameika left Impulse I was initially worried– I was used to the shop, I was comfortable. But boy was I happy and surprised when i saw her new place. Its extra comfortable, no rowdiness you may get from a big shop, and cosy décor. There a nice flat screen to entertain while under the dryer and its a treat to go get my hair done than rather than a hassle. While décor and ambiance are all well and good, I’m sure whats most important is HAIRCARE. Tameika is an utmost professional, doesnt let anyone leave her chair without every hair being properly conditionned, treated, trimmed, cut or styled. Thats why I’ve been going to her for so long and will continue to do so. I just hope she never moves out of state, cos I really dont know what I’ll do then.

I’ve left Impulse Hair Salon behind and followed my stylist Tameika to her new shop right on Francis Lewis Blvd. It’s much better than being within a company because she now has full control over making appointments and spaces them out according to what you’re getting done. The result is a much shorter waiting time and a lot quieter atmosphere. There isn’t a wireless but there is a big tv and she has her ipod for music as well. She’s an awesome stylist and I almost don’t want to put this review up because I don’t want to share her. NOTE she does not take walkins and deals primarily with chemically processed(read; relaxed) hair and not natural. There isn’t a very good hair place near her establishment so you want to come already prepared if you are adding hair to your do. Check her out and you definitely won’t be disappointed. The one less star is simply because Francis Lewis Blvd is so busy that its nerve wracking to put your car there but there is lots of parking on the residential side streets.
