Just went here with my boyfriend to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. I must say the meal was very disappointing. He ordered the fettuccine with bolognese sauce and it tasted as the sauce was purchased from down the road. I had the chicken panini and they forgot some ingredients to it and it tasted like perdu chicken. My boyfriend and I would not go back.

Went here for an early dinner on a Wednesday night. The place was dead. I had noticed other nights that it was very quiet which acted as a warning sign. I know the restaurant had also had issues paying their taxes which is never a good sign. Despite this I was feeling bold and daring. The bread that was brought out was very stale. Even when I tried to moisturize it with olive oil it was still unbearable. I ordered tuna tartare which was decent but nothing to write home about. I also had an order of calamari which was probably the best item out of the three I had. The last item was their meatballs which they claim on the menu is their staple item. The meatballs were dry and lacked any flavor. The staff was very friendly and checked in on us regularly. This didn’t make up for the poor food quality. The food was exceptionally expensive even given the area. Going here made me miss paradise which use to occupy the location.

LOVE this place! Food is delicious. Came back twice in one weekend for the cavatelli pasta with sausage ragu. Meatballs are another CANNOT miss! All of the salads are huge and wonderful as well. Can’t wait to try more items here! Service, atmosphere, menu, and wine list are all very welcoming. Zero pretentiousness. The staff all work together, everyone seems very happy to be there. New Hamptons fave!

Came in late. At least we could get a table. The food was not very memorable. The waiter was weird. In our face, disappointed at our order then acted as if he wanted to be our friend as we left(like he was impressed and surprised by our tip). Over all no staying power here.

After receiving a bland tasteless dinner I was shocked when I received three day old bread. Will never return. They have a lot of nerve to do that. No pride in their restaurant!

Place was pretty barren when we pulled in on a Friday night which had me a little worried. I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have more traffic coming in, but I’m guessing the wait staff and very strange menu might be part of the problem. The bartender welcomed us in and also served us. Was a bit weird since the menu is definitely $$$. Not at all what I would have expected for the price points. I ordered the gnocchi which had the texture of fluffy little pillows that melted in your mouth. Sadly the pesto that came with it gave me the most awful indigestion — it’s never been an issue anywhere else. My sister ordered the bolognese and it ended up being on the sweet side(like pumpkin sweet — and not in a good way) so it was almost inedible. I’m not really sure what direction they were going in, but it wasn’t executed properly. The service was just fine, the chef was accommodating to my sister’s allergy and overall it was a fine experience, but for a glass of wine and 2 entrees, we were at nearly $ 75. It was a bit outrageous for what we ate — seriously 2 pasta dishes and a glass of Montipuliciano? This place needs to downgrade to it’s sister restaurant’s standards in Greenwich and just serve amazing food and stop trying to be so pretentious because it’s in Sag Harbor.

as someone who has eaten in the New Paradise Café, and the other places that preceded Doppio, I thought I would check it out. The reviews have been uniformily atrocious, and I expected a horrible experience, an expectation that was reinforced when I arrived by seeing an almost empty restaurant. We had dinner at the bar, along with a glass of wine, and both the food and wine were absolutely splendid. On top of that, the interior of the place is absolutely lovely. LASTBUTBYNOMEANSLEAST, THESERVICEWASUNIFORMLYEXCELLENT. Yes, the know about the scathing earlier reviews. Yes, the people we talked to who were working there felt genuinely bad that the place received the reviews, and are working hard to turn their ship around. Make that Succeeding! If you’ve been there before, I urge you to give it another chance. If you haven’t, when you read the earlier reviews, bear in mind that not only can places change for the worse — in this case at least, a place can change for the better, too! The copper toped bar and Edison style lighting paired with dark woods and hurricane candles provide the perfect setting for and upscale evening. Enjoy the indie electronic tunes as you choose from several beers on tap. The wine list will not leave you scratching your head nor will you be rolling your eyes. There’s something for everyone. Great ambiance and savory Italian flair in the dishes we’ve been surrounded by, even though we only came to drink.

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Doppio on Friday. The food was excellent! We tried a bunch of different items from the small plates menu… Fabulous burrata and the tuna tartare was to die for. I had the cavatelli with lamb sausage and broccolini, and my boyfriend had the salmon which were both awesome. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, and made great recommendations for cocktails/dishes. The drinks were also delicious and strong which is definitely a plus. Overall, great experience and we will definitely be going again.

The food was okay, but I would never come here again solely because the tall waiter with the grey hair was so rude. Rude may be an understatement– Belligerent is more like it.

I wish I could leave zero stars. We came for brunch on a Saturday morning. The restaurant was completely empty(1st red flag!). It took 20 minutes to seat us. It was a large group(20 ppl) with a reservation. The food was terrible! It was cold, took forever to come out. The service was slow, terrible. The breakfast cocktails were watered down(sitting in ice). I totally agree with a previous poster, the servers/chef/staff should consider a new career at the DMV. You have been warned!

Service is pretty bad, BUTCLAUDIO(BUSTRON?) SAVEDTHEDAY. He had personality, was attentive and had opinions on wine and food. Food was very good. Most of the other staff seemed depressed, no smiles or interest in their work. Very Weird. Waitress was looking around and avoided eye contact when taking orders. Not surprised she didn’t know who ordered what. The female bustron looked like she was on drugs, downers for sure. Oysters, filet mignon, Branzino and pasta dishes were all very good. So a mixed bag. With all the negative reviews on servers you’d think they’d clean house but keep CLAUDIO

Worst meal ever! Rick may be the worst server ever. Ran out of every dish, three hour wait for main courses and got angry when we asked for drinks. I would never go here again even for free, I suggest you go anywhere else! Do yourself a favor and skip this place! Rick needs to find a new line of work…the DMV may be hiring!

All of the stars I’m giving apply directly to the food. The food is outstanding… Absolutely exceptional. The salmon, bruschetta, tuna tartare, meatballs, all the pasta dishes, and the chicken were absolutely fantastic. The service sucks. It’s terrible. We had this guy walking around who we kept asking for drinks, and he kept putting his finger up at us to say«one moment…» We had a party of 20 in an empty restaurant. There’s just no excuse. I’m willing to overlook the service, though… The food was that good.

I’ve dined there twice. Both times I was delighted with the servers. They were friendly knowledgeable, and attentive. The food is delicious. Nice décor. The outdoor space in the back is my preferred seating location. Inside was a bit too loud. Prices are a little high, but in line with comparable restaurants in the Hamptons.

Excellent food! Small portions but huge flavor! The waiter was deceiving about wine list and prices so me and my guests were shocked when the bill came. The bartender was chatty, which was great at first, but then was difficult to converse with other guests after awhile. I would return if I am ever in Sag Harbor again!

What a disaster. Went with a large party and after 45 minutes, the only service provided was a drink order(no drinks yet). Tried to order raw bar and they were literally out of all sea food, except calamari. We went late so this type of thing happens, except it looked like they ran out of calamari while preparing it, but no worries, they filled the remainder of the basket with fried shrimp. I think there were 5 calamari total plus 16 shrimp. Ordered an average bottle of wine. It was literally hot. Not warm, hot. My honest estimate would be 78 degrees. I had to use my hands to cool it down. Manager came over and bought us a round and tried to accommodate. That was appreciated, but too little too late. I do have to say all the pastas ordered were cooked perfectly and pretty good. This is the reason for 2 stars instead of 1. Place has potential, but has a lot of service improvements to be made before I return.

My GF& I had drinks here the other night and we totally enjoyed it. The warm glow of the lighting at the copper-topped bar, combined with the open air setting, makes for a very cozy & romantic hang-out spot. Brian, the bar manager was most accommodating & friendly. As I haven’t dined here, I can’t comment on the food(yet), but I will say our neighbors at the bar looked like they were thoroughly enjoying their pasta dishes — which smelled heavenly. As a music aficionado, I very much appreciate the thought that went into the quality sound system here, and we felt the background electronica(maybe Sirius XM Chill?) was a perfect soundtrack for this cozy, hip establishment. We’ll definitely go back.

This place was promising except for when my plate came out. I ordered a Bouillabaisse which looked and tasted grate but when I took a bite it was cold. The server came but I had little time to react and when I was ready to say something the server had taken off. So, I didn’t really eat most of my plate. The place is promising though. Drinks are great and my friends had pasta and they all loved it. Overall, give it a try but be skeptical about the bouillabaisse. If you order it make sure to let the server know you want it warm, unless you like cold soup!

Great place if you love booming techno music and lots of LI gumbas. Our party had to shout at each other to carry on conversation. Fun. Luckily the food is pretty solid, especially the pastas. Rigatoni with eggplant was a surprising standout with a rich tomato sauce. Hopefully the scene improves the longer this place is open.
