Came here for the breakfast buffet on a Sunday morning before 11 am. The price was $ 21. Food consisted of the following: scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, sausage and bacon, potatoes, blueberry french toast, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruit, yogurt, granola, muffins, few pastries, and breads for toast. Coffee, juice, and water are available to drink. Not sure about soda. This is all they had at the buffet. It was an «ok» meal… pretty much akin to something you’d get at a standard free breakfast if you are staying at most business hotels. Needless to say, it was not worth $ 21. I decided to add a mimosa($ 8.50) to my meal and was glad I did not order the bottomless version(which would have been $ 12) because the servers did not come around often. :(If you are looking for a good deal this really isn’t the place. Also, if you are driving in, valet parking is normally $ 5 the first hour and $ 6 each hour after that. When they saw I wasn’t even parked for an hour, they asked if I had just come I in quickly… I told them I had just came to eat at the buffet and they let me park free. On the upside, the hotel is nice and the dining area wasn’t like a crazy zoo(like most buffets are). All-in-all, it’s a solid buffet if you are staying at the hotel and it’s included, but if you are coming from the outside and want to pay for the buffet you will likely be disappointed considering the price.

I took my aunt and uncle here for lunch today and we were happy with our experience. After looking at the menu selections, we decided to go with their lunch buffet instead. The buffet consisted of all kinds of fresh veggies, grilled chicken cubes, some mixed salad(fruit, pasta, etc), some nuts and cheeses, some cold Italian deli meats, different bread rolls, one type of pizza, 4 types of soups, cookies, brownies and soft drink. I really liked the pumpkin seeds, artichoke hearts, and candied walnuts for my salad. The clam chowder and garbanzo bean tomato soup are both excellent. The taste of pizza unfortunately was a bit too strong for me. Although the servers forgot our requests for butter and tea and we had to flag them and repeated our requests, they were very apologetic. They were very friendly and smiled a lot which I liked. I’d recommend this place for people who want good atmosphere and good healthy food that’s located directly across from the beautiful California Capitol.

Description: We were staying at the hotel and had the opportunity to have breakfast at the Vines for the three days we were staying there. The restaurant is expansive, and has a clean spacious feel. The floor to ceiling windows gave the room a wonderful ambient lighting. If you are there during the spring and summer, sitting on the patio can be quite nice. There is plenty of seating and lots of space between each of the tables. Location: The restaurant is located on the first floor off the main lobby of the Hyatt Regency Sacramento to the left of the entrance. Décor: As is typical with many Hyatt restaurants, the furniture has a warm elegant expression. From the carpet to the high ceilings, the room was very inviting. I always appreciate the incorporation of the dark woods as it lends itself to a warmer mood to the room. Menu: The breakfast is a full buffet with an abundant selection. Also you have the choice to order off the menu. I ordered the egg white frittata, which was wonderful. My husband ordered a typical eggs and bacon dish and said good things about it. He really enjoys the Hyatt coffee and the Vines was no exception. The roasted potatoes and tomatoes from the buffet were done to perfection as well. Service: The service was exceptional. We were approached as soon as we were seated and offered drinks. Shortly thereafter, the server suggested we visit the buffet just after we ordered our egg dishes. She was very attentive and helpful as were all the staff. Final Thoughts: This restaurant is well managed with excellent service and great chefs in the kitchen. I would anticipate a superb breakfast on any visit.

Very good breakfast buffet. You have some nice healthy options as well as tasty eggs/omelets made to order/ I also had lunch here during my stay and had a terrific Crab Louis salad with lots of fresh Dungeness crab=a bargain at $ 16! Service is warm and efficient. I look forward to returning

This restaurant is great. They have healthy options. Cage free eggs. Milk free of hormones. They filter their tap water and serve it chilled in their pretty and tall GLASS bottles. That is very unique. Other restaurants just give you tap water with ice. The décor is very nice and elegant. The service was exceptional and very friendly. Vanessa and Selma were great! I ordered Crab Eggs Benedict — it was very good. They put brie with the crab which was very good. I never had it this way. My husband ordered eggs and fruit plate. They customized his fruit plate to his liking which was nice.

Fast friendly service Great for drinks Don’t get the fish tacos! Fish doesn’t taste too fresh, the slaw on it is great but it’s basically fish, tortilla and slaw. Could do with an acidic element like pico de gallo or salsa. On that note the salsa they serve on the side is unbelievable

The service was good and fast. The food was pretty good. We ate here twice and I had a wrap and sandwich which were both pretty tasty and came with good sides. I almost ate at the buffet, but both times there were flies, so I ordered off the menu. Hotel prices, so don’t be shocked when you get the bill.

Typical insanely overpriced hotel breakfast buffet. I am beginning to believe that hotels use the buffet to make up all their budget shortfalls! Food was not impressive. I had corned beef hash, slightly better than canned and nowhere near as good as any given roadhouse dive east of the Rockies.

Save yourself a headache and pass this overpriced mediocre dining experience by. The staff are very cavalier about your reservation and more than likely will lose your reservation. This has happened to me at least twice so this third time is the charm. We’ll be going elsewhere for Mother’s Day.

Exceptional service and food! My mom and best friend were in town for the weekend for my brother’s wedding staying at the Hyatt, so we ate here twice for breakfast and once for lunch. We had a few different waiters throughout our visit-all of whom were exceptional! I had a sinus infection during the weekend and one of the waitresses was so nice to recommend a holistic remedy of soda water and fresh squeezed lemon! The next morning she even asked how I was feeling and remembered all of our names/previous orders! If you are staying at the Hyatt or happen to be in the vicinity I definitely recommend eating here! You can order off the menu or off the buffet, both if which are delicious! I ordered the crab Louie salad for lunch without dressing(not needed) and the house made granola with almond milk and fresh fruit for breakfast. They were both so amazing-fresh and fulfilling! I will be back!

Ack… Terrible! I came here for the breakfast buffet and it was $ 20pp. Total waste of money. The spread was eggs(like mush), chicken sausage(dry), bacon was ok, biscuit and gravy(not good), potatoes(overcooked and bland). There were pastries, cereal, and fruit as well. The restaurant was nice and service was really good so 2 stars for that. The spread was nicely laid out and organized/clean. Still… stay away!

We had lunch there today. The trout entrée was delicious as was the quinoa salad. The Angus Hamburger was perfect. Our table by the windows was enjoyable because we could enjoy the pretty day. The service was quick, professional, and pleasant. We will return.

We bought the Awaken package at the hotel and the buffet was a good value for the family. Good service, although they forgot that the bill was part of the package, they quickly rectified.

Came here for a breakfast buffet($ 29.95/person). That’s way too much for a very limited selection of food. But 4 stars because it was free and included in my hotel rate. Otherwise, no way would I pay 30 bucks for some scrambled eggs, bacon, mini sausages and toast and jam. Yeah not worth it if you have to pay, but please go if it is free. Also 4 stars because the server was super awesome and gave me a to go container to bring some food up for my kid who was still sleeping.

For a luxury brand like the Hyatt, I was astonished with the quality of food presented. Each entrée and drink was overpriced for the quality presented. The Bloody Mary’s tasted like tomato juice and water and were way too costly. It was obvious they were not mixed by a bartender and someone more likely to have started that day. The corned beef hash was lackluster and the first try the eggs were burnt and scrambled and not poached as was requested. For two guests to spend $ 80 on breakfast for a small lox plate, 2 bloody mary’s and 2 sad breakfast entrees is outrageous. Poorly done in regards to food on all accounts. Our server, however, was amazing. Friendly, attentive and understanding. She was the best part of the experience! It is a shame that such a hospitality professional is subjected to serving such low quality items to vacationing guests.

We went to Vines for the Sunday Brunch to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend and another couple. Service was awesome, patio was very nice and while the brunch was more like a breakfast buffet rather than a true brunch, the food was very good. Eggs Benedict was rich and wonderful and the blintzes were also to die for. My boyfriend also reviewed Vines and only gave 2 stars, but I have to give them 3. The free flowing champagne for only $ 10.00 was a fantastic deal. We will return to Vines Café again, but while my boyfriend will probably order from the menu, I will enjoy the breakfast buffet and champagne again.

I went for the«award winning sunday brunch» and it was not very«award winning». Food was good but not much of a selection at all. No carving station with scrambled or eggs Benedict as the only options. Service was very good which was nice. $ 18.95 for buffet is not a bad price when you have a true buffet with options. I will definitely look elsewhere to try next time and we do Sunday Brunch quite often. The outdoor patio was quite nice the day we went but I would not recommend it during the hottest part of a Sacramento Summer. I originally gave it 2 stars because I thought we were going for Sunday Brunch but it was only a breakfast buffet. Within 1 hour the Restaurant Manager contacted me and apologized for the confusion because of the website. I thought that was very classy and customer relation oriented. She explained that they used to do a full brunch for 36.95 but it has been changed. I will go back because like I said, the patio is great and the food I tried was good. I did see a wonderful looking burger going to another table when I was there that I am trying next.

My family and I went here for my Dad’s birthday. When I called to make the reservation I was told they have an «award winning buffet» and a carving station for their Sunday brunch. Well, definitely not award winning & no carving station. The food was okay. We were expecting more than eggs, potatos, bacon & sausage and some fruits I also had a few pastries which weren’t that great. All for $ 18, which I don’t think is that much, but for only eggs, bacon & some pastries? I do have to say our waitress was very nice & we got a slice of cake for my dad. Oh yea, they do have a menu to order off of which looked good. If we do go back I will definitely order off the menu, the buffet is not worth it.

For a hotel restaurant or café, this place is pretty nice, as long as you don’t mind eating completely alone practically… My mom and I came here for lunch since her office is nearby, and this café you can tell is really set up for their brunch buffet and things of that sort, and after eating here, and being one of four people total, I really really wonder how they afford to pay the chef and the wait staff on a saturday during the day! You would think that would be a popular time to eat, but maybe the economy has hit the hotel café world too? Sad… But their food is good and the service is pretty quick, although with only one other table to wait on, how couldn’t it be! My mom got the thai beef salad with Marinated beef, hearts of romaine, shaved onion, cucumber, red bell peppers, lemon green vinaigrette… and I was pretty jealous of her salad, not gonna lie. It was fresh, and not too much dressing, just the right amount which I think is hard to do with big entrée salads sometimes. I mean nothing is worse than a soggy, gross piece of mixed greens, dripping all over your face… and the beef was fresh too! I got the albacore tuna melt with White Albacore tuna salad, cheddar cheese, sliced tomato on grilled sourdough and with a side of sweet potato fries which are a favorite of mine. Something about eating fries made out of sweet potatoes makes you feel like you are being healthier than eating regular fries! I love it! But these fries were only so so… I was really excited for them, but meh, just okay. My sandwich was pretty delicious though with TONS of tuna(aka the chicken of the sea, ms. jessica simpson!!!) and the perfect amount of cheese, but the outside of the bread was a little greasier or oilier than I wanted, but that didn’t stop me from finishing this massive sandwich! So know that if you are in the area you can get a pretty tasty and freshly made lunch at a hotel! Who would have thought? And you don’t have to eat at their main restaurant dawsons either!
