Awesome, accommodating fun happy staff. AND the Chef WoW. House made seafood chowder and Mac n cheese that my son the Mac connoisseur was raving about. Oh and the bar drinks great. Wish we lived closer to come more often.

Nice Venue For Impromptu Musical Performances SITREP I have been here before for the Happy Hours in the main bar area, a crab feed fundraiser in the dining area, and most recently we came to enjoy the musical performance of the band«Dirty Work» in the 2nd Level Lounge. THESETUP Blue Prynt Restaurant & Bar(Blue Prynt) is a very versatile and eclectic venue that permits a number of different kinds of events. * With a very large dining area, seating is quite ample for diners at spacious tables and booths, and this also permits for some very large special events to be hosted here. * The bar is set at the beginning of the dining area and is, really, the very first area you come to as you enter the restaurant. Being central to the establishment, it makes it easy to go over to it from the dining area, or to come to it from above, and from the back side, when coming down from the 2nd level lounge(which is necessary if the 2nd level bar is not open) * And speaking of the 2nd level lounge, this is a wonderful multi-purpose room that can be set up with chairs & tables, or high top tables & stools, or a combination of both, while leaving the central dance area open for DJ dancing or for a band to perform on like we enjoyed with«Dirty Work» the last time we where. DRINKS&MUNCHIES Unfortunately, there was nothing really special about the«Happy Hour» — I still got charged $ 7 for mixed drinks that were advertised as $ 4, and the happy hour food was not accessible to many in our group, especially to the vegetarians in our crowd. In addition, the calamari was offered(peddled as an item) during Happy Hour by both servers, but was not discounted to the same happy hour price-discount. MISLEADING. [Definitely get more bang for your Happy Hour buck at Pizza Rock on «The Kay», or at Ten22 in Old Sac. Ce la vie.] THELOWDOWN A decent venue that could use a bit more work on it’s Happy Hour food and drink menus in terms of diversity and pricing.

Finally had the chance to check out this place to see some live music courtesy of Unilocal Sacramento’s unofficial official band. Happy Hour is pretty solid when it comes to drinks. As for nibbles, for my omnivorous stage, seem wonderful, but since Lent is in full swing, not good for this Lenten vegan. They were kind enough to serve my house fried chips with the blue cheese on the side. Other than that… I didn’t have a chance to eat anything else. Drink price is on par with other Sac HH spots, I like the $ 2 shot shelf(proceed with caution) and you can’t beat $ 12 Johnnie Walker Blue. Didn’t spend much time downstairs, but their upstairs area is surprisingly large and carries its own bar. I have to check this place out again, but for my first visit, I left happy and looking forward to more.

Personally, Blue Prynt has never steered me wrong. I see some pretty inconsistent reviews, but they all relate to a variety of experiences, from planning large scale banquets to midday eating to showing up and expecting top-notch service shortly after the Concert in the Park lets out on a Friday night. Take those reviews with a grain of salt. My favorite here is their happy hour. They have a great selection of flavorful bar eats, including a Margherita Flatbread, nachos and my personal favorite, their fish and chips. We’re talking about huge pieces of breaded fish and some of the tastier fries on the grid. The service can be inconsistent, but I’ve never encountered someone on staff who wasn’t friendly. Think of this as your best place to go for after-work drinks and eats!

I came to Blue Prynt with some friends to watch a friends band play upstairs. I had never been to Blue Prynt before, but had it bookmarked for awhile so I was excited to go. Parking mostly consists of parking on the street, but luckily it’s not in the heart of Midtown so it’s relatively easy. There is a small parking lot in front for about 8 – 10 cars, and I lucked out by finding a spot there. Score! The inside of the restaurant is nice and large, with a big almost wraparound bar right when you walk inside, and plenty of other tables scattered around the restaurant. To get upstairs you have to walk around the bar and up the stairs which there is no signage marking where it is or if there’s anything up there. The upstairs is large as well with tables, bathrooms and a small bar. It looked like a good place to rent out for parties! Unfortunately there weren’t many items on their Happy Hour Menu upstairs for Vegetarians(maybe one or two) so I ended up having their Margherita Flatbread which was pretty good. The crust was nice and crisp and flaky which was tasty. Nothing remarkable but OK. My friend had the Frito Misto which he enjoyed and my other friend liked the Bacon Mac and Cheese. I would come back again to hangout at the bar and try a few of their other menu items. Service was good and the bartender at the upstairs bar was friendly, but it was too loud with the band playing to speak with any of the servers.

Came here the other day to see some friends jam upstairs in the banquet room. I remember this place from the old Bull Market days when it was a steakhouse and bar. It now appears that this pace is more bar than restaurant. When you walk in, you are greeted by a huge bar area directly in front of you and it appears that the feel is more of a lounge than restaurant. We went upstairs to the banquet room, and there were several ten top tables, and a small wooden area for the band and a dance floor. To the left was a very small bar area where you would order drinks and food. We ordered the Frito Misto for $ 8 and the Steak Sandwich for $ 12. Suffice it to say I was not impressed with either. Also ordered a Moscow Mule and was over charged from the $ 5 on the menu. Nothing here was a deal breaker, and to be honest, the staff were working their butts off trying to serve such a large crowd and seemed overwhelmed. When the band started playing, the acoustics were horrible so it was very difficult to hear the music clearly as the sound was bouncing off of the walls in every direction. But that might have been the fault of the sound guy for the band as well. So to sum up, an average experience for me. But keeping in mind, I was not there for dinner, just a drink and some apps for happy hour.

I was really confused why the Blue Prynt was kinda empty, with good, seasonal and local food and stellar service, this place should be hopping. Come out and try it out, you should enjoy it! Server Nick was awesome, seating us and being attentive throughout the meal. He made suggestions that were helpful. Décor was a bit dated, but relaxing and easy to converse. They had quite the music mix going on, from rock to reggae to 80’s. There is a bar area where they have snacks and small meals available with TV and other bar stuff. Also went to a music event in their event space upstairs that also had a bar with light food service. Some things are pricier than they really support with the food, but others are very well priced for the quality. I was hosting my parents in area for the farm to fork fest and we liked their special menu for the event. We started with salad and gazpacho but I found out cold soup just isn’t my thing. They had also included some melon in it, so it was savory sweet and very light. Nick insisted on providing something additional since I wasn’t a fan, but I refused because I was trying something new and wasn’t there fault. I had the suvied chicken for my main, but it was a little rubbery due to the cooking technique I think. The sides were fantastic and perfectly cooked, including potatoes and green beans(with white green beans too). My mom’s albacore tuna steak was good, but way too spicy rice kinda killed it for her(and me after trying it) My dad really enjoyed his steak, I’m sorry I don’t know the cut but it was quite large. To finish off we had the pear cobbler that was simply delish. A seasonal dessert, it was lightly sweet, tender, and very fresh. Whether after work for a drink and a bit or for a nice dinner with attentive service and fresh, local ingredients, head over to Blue Prynt and get your food on.

My ma taught that if I couldn’t say anything nice then I shouldn’t say anything at all. Since this is a Unilocal review I guess I have to say something. The best part of this experience was the waiter making sound effects while pouring the water«sshhhhhhh».

3.5STARS! I came here for Sacramento’s Dine Downtown 2016 because their menu looked the best out of all the possible selections. What got me in was that they offered steak, salmon, and pork chops for entrée selections, crab cakes for appetizers, and a decent dessert selection(espresso crème brûlée)! Basically, they had something in each category that was appealing to me, whereas other restaurants did not. Even though Blue Prynt has been around for approximately five years, I’ve never been in before. The inside seemed a little strange. There is a wooden bar area and to the left side is the dining area, which seems fairly casual, yet a little bit trying to be more upscale. It almost felt like the place tried to be remodeled, but wasn’t quite finished. As I looked at the Dine Downtown menu, I noticed additional selections that were not on the online menu. Today, for the first time, they were offering prime rib as an entrée choice, in addition to all the ones listed online. Also, they offered brownie sundae as a dessert option. I ordered the crab cakes with spicy aioli for starter, prime rib with broccoli rabe and mashed potatoes for entrée, and espresso crème brûlée for dessert. The crab cakes were crispy, flavorful, and delicious! They were a nice size and came with a refreshing arugula salad. Our waitress did not ask us how we would like our prime rib cooked when we ordered. By the time we tried to tell her(medium rare), our prime rib was already being served and it was medium or a bit beyond. The prime rib was a little bit tough and dry, but still had a decent flavor. There was a bit of gravy, but it needed more because by itself, it was a bit bland. We asked for some horseradish, but their horseradish didn’t have much flavor and really lacked that spicy kick. Overall, it wasn’t the best prime rib, but fairly decent. The espresso crème brûlée was very good! The burnt sugar layer was nice and crisp, the crème filling was sweet and delightful, and the espresso flavor was very noticeable throughout. It was topped with whipped cream and a strawberry, which made it even nicer. Thumbs up for the espresso crème brûlée! The service was above average. Our waitress brought us very refreshing cucumber water. She gave good recommendations and brought us everything we asked for. Blue Prynt is not as famous as some of the other higher-end Dine Downtown restaurants, but it is a fairly good choice. The atmosphere is not very upscale, but the selections are a bit better than the upscale restaurants. I would try a different entrée next time, but the crab cake appetizer is a must, plus their desserts are pretty good.

While reminiscing about what a horrible debacle it was to host an event here, it was brought to my attention that the $ 400 in gift cards we purchased from them the night of our banquet to hand out as raffle prizes(4-$ 100 cards) were never programed correctly and not honored by the business or offered a replacement. I have heard that the banquet coordinator that we used for our event no longer works there, but the horrible service runs deeper than her and it stems from the owner himself. RUN! Do not subject yourself or your party to the utter embarrassment of this place.

Came here for a business meeting. My first reaction was, wow, this place needs to be updated. I waited at the front for about 3 – 4 minutes before the bartender asked if I needed anything: yea– how about somebody seat me for lunch. After being seated, our waiter greeted us. He was a pretty good waiter. The prices are a little on the high side but not crazy. I ordered a diet soda and chicken sandwich. The sandwich came on some kind of regular white bread. It wasn’t toasted and the chicken itself was decently seasoned. But all that was on my sandwich was meat and cheese and tomatoes which I thought was strange. Anyway– it tastes fine… Just wasn’t awesome. I’d definitely come back here for convenience sake– but I wouldn’t venture out to here.

Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and I’m(Blue) Prynt bound… No? Well once again, 6 fabulous girls took off walking after finding a dinner menu that could feed all of us(one who doesn’t eat seafood or much red meat, one who loves red meat and nothing asian, mexican or italian, one who wants pasta, a couple on a budget, and one without a budget etc). We showed up and the place seemed a little dead, I was worried(hence check in comment), but apparently they had a party of 20 inside. We were able to sit outside and our waitress, while friendly and efficient, also seemed to have a sort of, «Ugh, really» that she was really trying to keep hidden. I ordered a shirley temple, they made it with club soda… come on, I’m an American! I need sugar and 7up! I asked about the different pastas, there was a pasta cappellini($ 14), that looked promising, and I could add meat, so I added poached shrimp for $ 6. I had struggled between that and the Duck pappardelle($ 18), the server said the pappardelle is made in house, so another girl got that, of which I asked I could try. Two girls got the roast chicken meal($ 20?), then a ahi tuna nicoise and the burger($ 12?). I also added soup, their seafood chowder. The soup was really tasty, definitely homemade, it had fish in it for the seafood. And was good portion, the girls who like seafood, said it smelled really good. My pasta came out and was a also a really good portion, with chunks of meaty tomatoes. There were TONS of shrimp, I ended up sharing(which I NEVER do)… Overall really good flavor and light. I didn’t even end up trying the pappardelle, even though it looked amazing, but I was really content and busy with my choice. Afterwards, the salad didn’t look like it was amazing, as a lot of left on the plate, and I guess the chicken was just«ok» according to my friend. So while everything pasta wise was good, maybe not so on the other items. If in the area, I’d head back, but nothing would make me cross three lanes of traffic b/c I missed the exit, good. It had this vibe about it that just made it, seem past it’s prime, almost like Restaurant Impossible-ish as far as décor and stuff. If you are in the area, I think it’s worth checking out though.

All I have to say is… WOW! Came here with my significant other on a last minute decision for Restaurant Week. Reservation was easy to make. The setting was nice, perfect for a date night! Our host was super friendly and engaging. He gave a lot of recommendations that helped us narrow down what we wanted to order. We started the night off with crab bisque as the appetizer. It was my first time trying that and I thought it was delicious. For our main entrée, she had the salmon and I went with the filet mignon. That filet mignon though… medium rare, nice and tender, melt in your mouth… that au jus was on point! The host was also helpful in recommending what type of wine I should get to complement my steak. Ended the night with an amazing crème brulee. GOODEATS! I highly recommend!

I used to come here quite a bit for happy hour, but times change. The restaurant is on the outskirts of downtown near the Best Western and has done a nice job of keeping up the place. Somebody in the 70’s probably thought the design of the place was awesome with wood paneling and a weird layout, but it did not age well and is kind of disconcerting. The food is OK, although I love that they resurrected the old balsamic and blue cheese kettle chips from Brew It Up! The bar is great with nice bartenders and a decent selection. It is a good stop for a drink or a quick lunch, but I have never been impressed by the entrees. There are just so many other options in the area.

Came here for dine downtown with my boyyyfreiieendddd heh. Last minute, made a reservation the day of. The crab cake was good, kind of cold but the sauce was reallyy gooddd. I got the salmon, kind of bland but it was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend that got the steak OHMYGOODDDNESSS it was melt in your mouth good, I wish I got his order instead of mine. heh. Topped it off with the espresso crème brûlée, it was kind of too sweet but the sugar on top was perfect! 50⁄50 if I come back here or not, wait was kind of long since they were short a busboy that night but c’mon, shouldn’t you be a little more prepared for dine downtown? Server was super polite though and I started getting buzzed off the wine heh whoops.

We went here for our office holiday party and I have got to say, they were good hosts, but the food was kind of disgusting. I had the tri-tip which was cooked a little past well done. It was so overcooked and tough, that the entire table literally shook when I tried to cut it from all the elbow grease I had to put behind it. I had to slow my cutting motion down quite a bit to keep the table still. The mashed potatoes were actually pretty good, but they were also very lumpy and very cold. The asparagus was fine, I guess. Based on the food they served at our party, I dont think I will ever be back.

Went with the Downtown/Midtown meetup to the event they hosted. The front entrance is clearly marked and they have a cute patio that I’ll have to come back and enjoy. I was really excited when I first walked in: gorgeous bar and plenty of seating. I went upstairs and it lost a little of its glam but considering the size, its dance floor, and I couldn’t hear how loud we were when I came in it seems like a great place to host events. A well drink was included with the event and I had a whiskey on ice which surprisingly was good! The bartender(Kyle) definitely steered me in the right direction! He was a great sport and entertained a few of us, totally earning himself a tip! ;D I ended up meeting a friend downstairs at the bar which was a good sized wrap around which is when I discovered their EPICPICK3 for $ 10 Deal. My friend ordered their Bacon Mac & Cheese(which was DELICIOUS! with thick bits of bacon and a kick from the spicy BBQ sauce they put in it! I wish it was a LITTLE creamier but for the price… it was PERFECTION)…the SLIDERS(3JUICY mini burgers! YUM! Normally I hate sliders: too much bread to meat ratio. Overall, I’d come back if I was in the area for the happy hour and their 3 for $ 10 deal.
