I’m a very picky eater and this place knocked it out of the park. Their bread is divine and baked fresh and they don’t skimp on ingredients. I was a first time customer and I was helped with suggestions and given a stamp card that will definitely be given some use. Good job Sandwich Spot!

The real standout of the sandwich was the fresh baked bread and the amicable service, but as far as a sandwich goes, it was A-OK. Not to brag, but I know sandwiches. And although these particular sammies were large and filling and not too pricy, I can’t quite get behind them. The turkey in the turkey sandwich wasn’t my forte: thicker cuts, a bit slimy, almost look prepackaged. No bueno. The sandwich special of the day was super unique, kudos for that. I can’t quite remember the combo, but it involved bacon and chicken and cheese and more. Although it was good, it was sadly far from memorable. The sandwiches lacked a certain je né sais quoi. A quick, cheap and filling option, for sure, but I’ve had a better sandwich in my lifetime.

So good! Got the 10-speed with cheddar and added jalapeños and olives on sourdough. The bread made this sandwich: hot, crusty, delicious goodness. Was going to only eat half, but it was so good I ate the whole thing. Will definitely be coming back!

One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. All the ingredients are extremely fresh and the bread is great. Plus the busy staff are really great and willing to make whatever adjustments you request. Nice little spot! A lot better than the Bread Company sandwiches…

Stopped through Sacramento on our way to San Francisco and found this little local sandwich shop through Unilocal. Location was in a nice eclectic neighborhood and the building looked original and historic for the area. We came in at lunch time so it was a little busy but the staff greeted us and were friendly. We ordered the Governor on crunch bread and the The Grid on regular sourdough. Both sandwiches came within about 5min and were brought outside to us by the staff. Both sandwiches were great! Everything seemed and tasted fresh; the bread was chewy and crusty(everything you want in a good sourdough) and the meat and veggies were on point. The Bomb Sauce as previous Unilocalers mentioned was crazy good and gave the sandwiches that extra something. The Sandwich Spot is highly recommended by us for people looking for a a casual lunch in a quaint and friendly neighborhood of Sacramento. Also if you have a sweet tooth grab one of their cookies, nom nom nom!

You can’t go wrong with this place! Sandwiches are good, especially with the bomb sauce. Yummmmmy! Their potato salad is called«bomb» which is true… So good! I had their hot blonde, I think that’s what it was called, and it was utterly delicious. Perfect amount of produce and enough chicken to satisfy my craving. The bomb sauce was just a plus! I was only able to eat half because the sandwiches are pretty big and satisfying, but best believe I finished the other half later! :) The customer service goes without saying is fantastic! They’re all friendly and laid back which is perfect for where it’s located. It’s a cozy little house restaurant. That’s awesome! The scenery sitting on the patio, especially during fall, is gorgeous! This was my first time ever being at any Sandwich Spot and the experience was great!

The sandwiches are AMAZING! Especially if you love a lot of flavor :) My favorite is The Rawhide. Service here is great every time I’ve come in-Kelley is a doll and makes the best!

I’m a vegetarian and the wife & I split their only vegetarian sandwich — it was fantastic, starting with that dreamy, flavor-packed dutch crunch! Whenever I have a sandwich craving, the decision is pretty easy. 1 sandwich is enough for two normal-sized human beings.

It was our first time at this particular location and let me tell you, we were quite impressed. The first thing we noticed was the eclectically cute vibe of the place. The shop was clean and comfortable. Although we came about 20 minutes before closing, we were warmly greeted by two young women. I was actually surprised by this greeting since, at least 90% of the time, we get the dirty evil eye from workers when we come around closing time. Our little group certainly had plenty of questions and a few requests, and these were met with pleasant smiles and helpful answers by both the young ladies behind the counter that night. Our group consisted of one young, small & highly selective eater; one middle-aged medium veggie person; and another middle-aged large picky person. We found something for everyone. We got one kids grilled turkey and cheese; one 10 Speed no cheese; and one Governor. These sandwiches were quality and quantity! No use in having quantity when quality is lacking, but there’s none of that going on here. I’m not going to go into the specifics of each sandwich; however, I will say there were no leftovers(even though the sandwiches are pretty hefty). The thing I loved most about this place(and hopefully this wasn’t just a one-time thing) was the customer service. Hey, we were just getting sandwiches and they roll out the red carpet for us!(Ok, I mean the two young ladies were just so exceptionally nice!) And who are we? We aren’t famous, or beautiful, or rich or anything like that. We’re just regular people trying to get a quality bite to eat for dinner. So, here’s to the two young ladies who made our night. You two should be rewarded by your boss with a night out at the movies, a gift card for coffee, your pictures on the wall or something to show all that a good attitude will lead to repeat business, grateful customers, and underneath it all, happy humans spreading love and kindness all over the world. Pass it on!

This is the definitely the best Sandwich Spot I have been to and possibly my favorite actual sandwich spot ever! A coworker told me about this place in 2009, before I ever used Unilocal, and my life changed when I took my first bite! Sorry to be dramatic, but these sandwiches are THAT good. I have probably gone through at least 3+ frequent cards(10 stamps each). I was SOOO excited to hear that a Sandwich Spot was opening near my house(Natomas), but it was not the same. There are now two locations in Natomas, but I will still drive downtown for this location! The sandwiches here are always consistently amazing and leave me craving more. The sandwiches are huge and they do not skimp on the ingredients. My two favorites are The Grid and The Governor. The Grid has hot roast beef, cream cheese, and bomb sauce. The Governor has hot turkey, cream cheese, avocado, and bomb sauce. You can decide what ingredients you want to add or subtract, in addition to picking your bread(pick Dutch Crunch!!) and type of cheese. The Dutch Crunch bread might cut the roof of your mouth, but it will be worth it. All their sandwiches have great combinations and their bomb sauce is seriously THEBOMB! The staff are always super friendly and quick and I like that they are in an adorable little house. I could definitely eat these sandwiches everyday for the rest of my life!

If I had to choose one food item to eat for the rest of my life I would choose a fresh deli sandwich. With that said, I tend to be a little more critical of my sandwich preparations. Today I decided to try out The Sandwich Spot and boy was I pleased. The building is pretty small, which I think is suitable for a sandwich spot. There is also a front porch with a couple of tables for outdoor seating. Super cute! I ordered the Fort Sutter Sandwich, which includes ham, prosciutto, salami, provolone cheese, and Italian vinegar. I also had a bite of the Grizzly, which includes hot pastrami, roast beef, salami and a choice of cheese. The Sandwich Shop is known for their bomb sauce, which is a ranch jalapeño sauce. I fell in love. Oh, and I forgot to mention: bread is such an important factor in a sandwich; it should be fresh and provide the right amount of texture. I chose the Dutch Crutch roll, which fit the criteria! Yum! The staff was extremely welcoming, and provided excellent customer service. My sandwich was made in no time! I look forward to coming again soon! Thanks Sandwich Shop staff!

Walked by here on friday and say wow such a cute exterior! must stop by at this location nd give it a try since i been to the other locations. Today i finally stopped in and grab and sandwich togo. i was on the run today, kind of schedule. Welp it was kind of embarrassing when i thought the back entrance was the front entrance. I walked in and say oops! its the kitchen haha… Anyways Vibe I was hungry and craving for some BOMBSAUCE! Layout The inside is kind of small with limited seating. The bathroom is right next to the line, where you order. The bathroom door have a blurred out clear window, where you can kind of see the shadow of the person sitting or standing lol… But yes it was sooo cool temperature inside, i wanted to sit inside, but felt uncomfortable wight he burred out window ha. Service Nice friendly staff who served me, asked what i like and how was my day. Also took the time to tell me what kind of bbq sauce they used such as homemade or just regular bbq sauce lol. Food bbq tri tip sandwich — First thing first, i asked what kind of bbq sauce? as soon she say its just regular sauce, i requested it on the side. i don’t like my sandwich drenched with bbq sauce. I did request bomb sauce and jalepenos to make it spicy and extra veggies inside. There was a generous portion of meat and not so much veggies inside, which i was kind of disappointed when i requested more. The bread was getting soggy by the time i got home which was maybe a 15 min ride. i do like to eat it on the spot, because nothing taste the same when its not eaten right away haha. on a time crunch and it is what it is haha…

I’m sure this place is madness every single day of the week during lunch time, so don’t think I don’t know that. That being said, the wait was really long and it looked like absolute insanity behind the counter. I was helped by a polite guy who kept calling me «sweetie», which I hate, but it seemed genuine, so whatever. The sandwich was pretty good– sourdough, marinated(super garlicky, saucy) chicken, bacon, avocado, and swiss cheese. I didn’t like the chicken. I should have asked what«marinated» meant. I’ve been wanting to try this Sandwich Spot for a long time, but I probably won’t come back because it was a loud and uncomfortable experience.

THEHIPSANDWICHEATERY! Went here once for lunch one day when I didn’t feel like having a nasty ass Subway sandwich. Needless to say, SS blows others out of the water. Let’s review! QUALITY/SELECTION: 4⁄5 I love the steak that they have here! It is juicy and tastes fresh, just how you want your steak. Bread is fresh but not amazing. The seasonings and sauces that they use are flavorful but not overpowering. They have a wide variety of house sandwiches that I will have to try eventually. I also got a side of potato salad, which was probably the best potato salad that I have ever had in my mouth! AMBIANCE: 3⁄5 This place is too small! It is built into an old victorian and the kitchen takes up almost half of the floor space. There is a smaller outside patio as well, but do not expect to get a table at this establishment during lunch on a weekday. I do like how the menu is handwritten on a big chalkboard attached to the wall. PRICE: 3⁄5 Sandwiches vary from 7 – 11 dollars. While that is not a terrible chunk of change, the portions per dollar are just too small. My sandwich left me hungry. 11 dollars for a small steak sandwich is not my idea of a budget meal. SERVICE: 4⁄5 They take your order on the right of the counter and you pay on the left. I guess that you are supposed to tell the cashier what you ordered, because I went pay only to have her staring at me. The girl directly to your left can’t take 1 second to tell you my order apparently. Oh well. The sandwiches are made fast and they bring them out to you fast. OVERALLIMPRESSION: The Sandwich Spot is a solid sandwich spot… Arrive during slow hours and avoid that lunch rush. There are tons of options as well as make it yourself style. If you love sandwiches, then this is your dig.

Looking for a good sandwich? Look no further. The Sandwich spot is thee spot. They have an array of items to choose from. #16 do it, just do it, you won’t regret it. The Governor which consists of turkey, avocado, bomb sauce and cream cheese. Don’t forget it to get Dutch Crunch bread! Nom Nom. The guy who served me was so awesome and we chatted it up while he made my sandwich. They also have outside seating which is great.

It has been a long time since my review of the Sandwich Spot on 18th, but the stellar food, reasonable prices and friendly staff deserve a five-star review for lunch. I came in for a late sando on a Sunday and it was moderately busy and well-lit as always. Promptly greeted with a smile and a note that they would be with me shortly. Another nice staffer finished up an order and came up to get mine. Grabbed some chips and paid, few minutes later and I had a meal. Love the sourdough here, extra tangy, just like I love it. Lots of bread, lots of toppings. I had lettuce, tomato, avocado and turkey and each was fresh and quality. They do great bacon too, so I added some on top. Wanted a better chip selection, too much weird flavors. Very reasonable pricing, I was out for under $ 10. The Sandwich Spot is a reliable destination for your lunchin’ munchin’.

The hungry mister was throwing a tantrum for having to walk two blocks to The Sandwich Spot — we were parked across the street from a Subway, which I vetoed.(God forbid a man have to wait an extra 5 minutes for his food *rolls eyes.*) Good thing I made that executive decision, though. Because lawd. Have. MEERRRCY. It was damned delicious. In all of his grumpy glory, the boyfriend reluctantly took a peeksee at what others had ordered for options and settled on just a half sandwich, as did I. Definitely affordable at 4.50 apiece with full sandwiches running between 6 – 7.49. One bite in, however, we looked at each other, and immediately regretted our choices. Not in sandwich selection, but in portion size. His«Downtowner,» a combination of marinated chicken, teriyaki, and pepperjack vanished in less than 4 minutes flat, leaving in its place an expression of yearning and sadness for a love long lost. My «Raw Hide» was nothing short of heavenly. Warm roast beef, bacon, and cheddar drizzled with barbecue and bomb sauce. Welp. It was bomb. And really, who wouldn’t love hot, ooey, gooey, messes between two slices of bread? N O B O D Y, Best sando I’ve had in a while… in fact, maybe ever. I gushed about it on my Instagram page and am happy to discover that there is a Sandwich Spot closer to home in Berkeley; in fact, its said to be equally as tasty. Score! Still, whenever I’m back in Sac, this location’s sandwiches will have a near and dear«spot» in my heart and guaranteed space in my stomach.

This is my 3rd time coming here and every time so far, I come out with a full belly and a smile on my face. :) This is how pleased I am with THIS sandwich spot… I live in Roseville, and there is a Sandwhich spot in Roseville… and for now on, when I am in the mood for a good Sandwich and on the road, I will drive my hungry ass all the way to downtown Sac to come here, rather than hitting the sandwich spot in Roseville on my way home. Yeah… Very simple, friendly customer service, warm bread, GOOD sandwiches, quick service, cool ambiance, and nice seating. Why this place over Roseville? The Roseville spot is always crowded, takes FOREVER to get ur food, the sandwiches are made half ass, and hella kids. And they have this loud ass bell they hit every now and then… wtf?! So yeah, I’m all for this place. This is my new go to sandwich spot. Highly recommended no reason to look anywhere else…
