This review is for the 37th and J Street location. In general, I do like Subway. This Subway is by far the most convenient and while I try to avoid if possible, sometime do go in there. Food is ok, but it is just not run well, at least from a customer perspective. Parking lot is large and supposedly dedicated to Subway only customers. But seems always patrons of other establishments park there seemingly without any attempt to stop the practice from the Subway. So good luck in finding a spot in busy times. If you go to this Subway towards closing time on weekends(especially Sunday), occasionally they close early, regardless of the posted closing time(happened last time I tried to go there and was there like 10 minutes prior to posted closing and not the only time). If you are lucky enough to have a 2 – 1 coupon for any sandwich, you likely will be given a choice of a handful of sandwiches to chose from(instead of all) by the employees who cite this is the direction from management they have. Inside dining area is small and cramped and not always policed to keep tables cleaned. Just not a good Subway and luckily there are three other Subways in the area maybe 2 – 3 miles away.

Of course it’s always busy between 11 – 1 because of the hospital and medical buildings around the place but the customer service is great! I go to this Subway at least once a week and see the same three ladies working there. They are all so friendly. They know my order and verify it with me the moment I get up to the counter. You can park in their parking lot or out on the street. I usually do not find any problems.

Aside from its convenient location to my home, it’s not the best subway by far.

I looked up this place to see what time they open(7am) and decided I’ll pick up a sandwich before work for my lunch later. I got there 7:10am and everything was dark! Door was locked… what the heck? I looked at my phone to confirm the time, I looked at their store hours posted on the door to make sure I’m not crazy. Nope, not crazy. What chain restaurant says they open at 7am and not actually open? I don’t have super high expectations from a chain like Subway — I even overlook the fact they seem to be skimpier with their portion of meat at this location… but I do expect them to open when they’re supposed to.

This Subway is a bit Subpar… They really skimp on the veggies and for the hot subs, they put less meat on the subs than the other Subways around Sacramento. The parking lot can be a bit atrocious during lunch time as well. The employees seem to be friendly, unless the owner/mgr is there, she keeps a strict eye on them and is overbearing and micromanaging… which makes me feel bad for these poor young sandwich artists…

«5…5 dollar…5 dollar foot longs…» Love that jingle. Anyway, I go to this Subway entirely too often. The employees are always nice enough and never mess up my order. The line can get pretty long during the lunch rush but they always move through pretty quickly. One time I realized, after I ordered, that I had left my wallet at home and the owner let me take my food and come back to pay. It is the little things like that that make me return to this location. My only complaint is that they close super early, like 6 or 7, far too early for me to ever get dinner there.

Subways in general are nice– fairly healthy, lots of variety, not bad. This one is… well, just like every other one. Guess that’s a good thing. I am a fan of their veggie patty, an oblong garden burger that is pretty darn tasty. Not too many fast food joints offer up a garden burger, so this is a big plus in my book. But they don’t always have it on the menu… not sure why, but I’ve never found one that didn’t have them. Good stuff. Also they should be commended for their new breakfast sandwiches. Tasty little bastards, and at $ 2.50 with coffee, they’re hard to argue with. Plus you can get a 6 inch version for only a tiny bit more, like $ 0.50. Nice.

So I swear there is a Subway here even though it doesn’t appear on any map or on Subway’s website. Weird. Anyway, it’s Subway right? I don’t expect too much. The lady working was nice enough. I mean she said friendly things and my food was correct but it just seemed like she didn’t give two shits about my sweet and delicious club sandwich. I know it sounds stupid but her acting that way made my sandwich not so good. I think it was the lack of toppings. It’s like she did the bare minimum. I’m like come on, can I get just one more strip of mustard? Pretty please?
