The Blimpies best is a wonderful Italian style sub sandwich that has an amazing assortment of flavors. The owner provides WiFi indoor and outdoor seating and a great atmoshere to relax and enjoy your meal. I highly recommend this location if your looking to enjoy delicious, healthy food.

Not much to write about for this place… it is your run-of-the-mill sandwich shop. A little bit better than Subway in most everything from service to quality of food. I think the staff here is good and they clearly cater to the hospital lunch crowd. They used to have a private parking lot, but that is no longer, so parking sucks. Though I’ve never had a problem getting in and out of there quickly. The sandwiches are ok, but I always get the same turkey cheese, so I’m not the best judge of that. There is a juice bar at one side of the shop, but I’ve never seen it up and running… must be for the morning hospital worker crowd. I would recomend this to anyone who is in need of a quick lunch while at Sutter Fort or the Hospital.

Depending on who is working, determines what they charge you. DON’T GOHERE. I was a long time customer until I figured out they were over taxing me every time my friends and I would go in. When I confronted the owner, he said there was a soda tax, and got mad. When I told him there was no soda tax, he told the girl at the register, «just give her the regular price,» and give me an evil stare. What’s the«regular price??» Our whole office has boycotted this location, and if you check your math, you should too.

Bread was stale and hard. They charge extra for spinach. I asked the young lady if they baked the bread today, she stuttered and didn’t want to answer. Her mngr came over and looked like he was lying when he said yes. My sister is a chef and said there’s no way this bread was baked today. There was a hair in her sandwich. It’s overpriced– 19 $ for 26in combos.

First time here. I was looking for something fresh and that’s exactly what I got. I got great customer service and they were really fast on making my sandwich. Small place but great for breaks or lunch while in downtown sac. Definitely a place that can substitute subway

I had the chicken sandwich with Ciabatta bread. The chicken was hand sliced there. It was marinated and tasted ridiculously good. A steal for 8 dollars and some change. Keep up the good work.

Came in for the first time after a Dr’s appt across the street! Great service from both the owner Mike and the girl behind the counter Lincoln! The food was tasty, and I also enjoyed a nice express chocolate which the other chains like Subway do not offer! I will be coming back for sure!

Ordered lunch today for work. They’re lucky i work right across the street… There were flies in the building and i almost saw one land on my sandwich meet. Luckily it didn’t! But the workers made it seem like they didn’t care. The subs are really not terrible just slopped together. Which doesn’t make them ‘look’ very appetizing. Overall just go in for a snack, they do have ice cream:) yum

Bad customer service. They didn’t have anything I wanted. No 12oz available and instead of a 16oz with 12oz of liquid they charge for 16oz. No non dairy and blatantly lied how their pos system and espresso machine worked. Puh-lease!

Went in to order Lunch, and Ordered a Ham & Cheese on Sourdough everything was fine until I pulled out My American Express. It seam you have to pay more money if you use that card, personally I think that’s BS … If your in business to do business and you take credit cards then take credit cards no excuses… no reason to charge more money So Blimpie Shame on you… Now I’m gonna tell all the people I deal with to do business with Subway And I drive a lot of schools

I used to eat at Blimpie all the time as a kid back East and the manager was more than willing to hook me up with my childhood favorite(which is off the menu) Great Food, Great Service, and overall great experience!

Not the best tasting subs. The younger ladies working here are very nice though.

Horrible Experience! The food itself was fine. My girls and I were doing a River trip laying out and tanning for the day. we wanted some sandwiches and a smoothie to snack on. we go in here and the service is horrible, so bad I dont think I can ever come back I think its a husband and wife that run the establishment. The husband is a little nicer then the wife. The wife has no idea what common courtesy is or good manners. She rudely threw my sandwich together, no smile, just angry look on her face like she hated her life. Attitudes are contagious and hers was horrible ! She barked at me asking what I want on the sandwich and i was polite the whole time even smiled at her thinking she would reciprocate it but no such thing occurred. Never coming back here again !!!

I had a good time eating here. The owner was a very nice man. He said this shop has been around for about 18 years. He’s personally took over about 3. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the thing about the Blimpie’s that make them stand out from the other sandwiches is how they toast them in a toaster that squeezes the bread together. It might seem annoying to squish a perfectly good sandwich, but it actually makes it easier to handle when you add all the extra veggies and toppings. It also makes the sandwich nice and warm, which is a lot nicer than just have a cold sandwich for lunch. Large variety of chips and drinks to choose from. I just wish they had some Snapple drinks without being Diet. And they offer all kinds of yummy ice cream bars for dessert. We grabbed a couple of Mexican ice cream bars for our after lunch treat, and headed to the beautiful grassy park area in front of Sutter’s Fort. It was a delightful afternoon.

This place makes a really great sub. The owners/workers are always really friendly. Much better than subway or safeway subs.

I would love to write a review about how great their food is, or one where I proclaim to my fellow Unilocalers that they have excellent service. Sadly, I can provide no such reassurances, only an account of my sad little visit. I walk by here several times a day and finally had a hankering for a sandwich so I stopped in. I walked in and stood in line, perusing their menu for something that sounded tasty. I considered several options as I approached the register to order. And then I saw it, the sign that tells me that their greed takes precedent over my business. The sign I’m referring to is somewhat common among«mom & pop» type places and is the top reason why I’ve come to prefer the consistency of corporate owned businesses(which is sad). The sign I refer to is the one that tells you that if you aren’t paying with cash, that you’ll be paying an extra fee for their products. I refuse to play that game and don’t give my business to anyplace that uses this practice. So I walked out of this place and went a few doors down to Alejandro’s Tacqueria… my old standby.

I used to eat at Blimpie’s alot as a kid growing up in SoCal, but since living in NorCal, i’ve been stuck eating at Subway of Quiznos. I’m TIRED of Subway and Quiznos. I stumbled upon this Blimpie while searching Unilocal for sandwich places in Sacramento. This is a good location, but you have to pay a quarter for parking during the week– like anywhere downtown. The employees are always friendly and make you feel welcome no matter how busy it is. THEFOOD… what a nice change from the others. Bread fresh, meat tasty(subway is tasteless. blah). I like all their subs, but the meatball is my favorite. They toast the bread, cheese is melted on top… yumma yumma! The location has plenty of indoor seating and and outdoor patio with views of Historic Sutter’s Fort. Their is a TV inside that plays sports. There is also a Java City coffee bar, but I’ve never been in the morning to check it out.

I haven’t been to a Blimpie in years… maybe I was just reeeeally hungry… but I thought Id write another review for a chain… why not? It wasn’t bad at all… Mr L had(had it stolen more like) the turkey avocado goodness yum on wheat thing– it was LOADED with fresh veggies and a few kinds of meat. I was in a bfast burrito mood, so had the ham and cheddar… nothing in comparison to that sandwich.(damn!) I appreciated the wide variety of baked chips… which sounds silly when writing this… but they really ARE amazing-I love sour cream and onion, and rarely have chips(I know!)They also gave my kid a free cookie… apparently she’s pretty cute(score) I dig the location. I suggest you see the fort(Sutter’s) grab a sack of sandwiches, and tune into some Pearl Jam… but that’s just me;)

I love Blimpie’s sandwiches. This is a nice older restaurant with lots of tables and a nice view of Sutter’s Fort. I’ve eaten here a dozen times — I think they are the best franchise sandwich in SacTown with Togo’s a close second, Quizno’s third and Subway a distant fourth. They have really good hot pastrami and really good hot roast beef — they are big and served dripping with juices. It is usually quiet so you can get in and out without a lot of waiting. They also seem to attract a more mellow crowd — less grumpy people who always seem to form endless lines at cramped little Subways. Not quite up to the same level as Dad’s or Capital Deli — but very good if you are nearby.
