Great place and great ice cream. Support the small businesses rather than the giant chains.

Great local ice cream and sandwiches! Always clean and nice staff. Love the thick fluffy sourdough bread and the fact that they have creamy-sweet fat-free yogurt! I love that whenever it’s slow, the staff will bring your food to the table. that’s just great customer service. Yum!

All I can say for now is… dollar scoop night is awesome! Every Tuesday is dollar scoop night until 8:00PM. What more could you want besides Gunther’s ice cream on a sweet delicious sugar cone? Last night my boyfriend and I finally finished dinner early enough to head over to SacTown Ice Cream and Sandwiches. I decided to try the birthday cake ice cream. WOW! This scoop had huge chunks of yummy cake surrounded by fresh sweet ice cream. My boyfriend noticed my scoop was almost half gone before he even got his. Stop by, have some ice cream and support your local business– you’ll have a good time. =)

Sac-Town was a pleasant surprise, serving the legendary Gunther’s Ice Cream of the 916. We strolled in on a nice Saturday night, after enduring a 92-degree relentlessly scorching day in the park. After declining to partake in the«Super-Bowl Sundae» challenge.(12 scoops in 20 minutes, lactose hell)… I opted to go with the«tried-n-true» Banana Split. Only to hear the dreaded words, after I already paid… «We ran out of bananas» Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! The equivalent of pouring a nice bowl and Cap’n Crunch into your bowl only to turn over the milk carton and get a measly sprinkle. After feeling like the modern day Rodney Dangerfield… My eardrums heard the lovely words of customer service bliss… «We’ll run out and buy some bananas for you» Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssss!!! Big Shout to «Matt» who ran out from the back room«bullpen» to save the night! All of the folks there were really nice! «Matt» gets the props, but it was definitely a team effort! Kudos to the Sac-Town crew!

This is a nice little ice cream shop located in the middle of Natomas Park. The ice cream is made by Gunthers so you know that it is great. Great classic Gunthers flavours as well as some new ones to try. Scoops are generous and the price is average for ice cream. Funny thing is that of all of the reviews that I have read, not one mentions having a sandwich, LOL! That night that I went was Tuesday, which is dollar scoop night, so expect long lines.

I just cannot get over how much I LOVE their Nutty Cones! And their ice cream is from Gunthers, so it’s creamy and delicious. Please frequent this fine establishment and keep it open… it’s is SOOO much better than Baskin Robbins, and DESERVES to stay in business. :)

Unilocal is so helpful when it comes to finding a local hole-in-the-wall/diamond in the rough! In this case, I was quite disappointed. Customer Service: a little negligent if you ask me! Upon walking in, two people looked at me and my mom. Didn’t even get a greeting! When sampling ice cream flavors, I like to make sure I made the right decision. They made me feel like a nuisance every time i asked for a sample. Well suck it up, you get paid to serve.(i work food too, so im allowed to say that :|) sandwiches: BLANDASFCK. the bread was probably just the local grocery brand. the pastrami was salty. the turkey tasted processed. the only good thing about my sandwich was the bacon… AND I HATEBACON !! ice cream: the only thing giving this place 3 stars. its pretty legit. I’ve never had Gunther’s ice cream, and it lives up to its’ hype. i got pistachio nut & jamocha almond fudge. $ 1 scoop tuesdays !! All in all, the only thing holding this place up for me is the ice cream.

Great Gunther’s ice cream aside… The service here is fabulous. We ordered BLT sandwiches, and they made them, we received them with the caveat, «Here are your sandwiches, but we really don’t like this new bacon we have. If you like it, great, if not, we can make you new ones, we’ll just have the owner bring in some of our regular bacon.» Wow. AND we got vouchers for sandwiches in the future. Yay, team. Another summer day, a woman brought her granddaughter in for an ice cream cone. She only had money for the little one. The owner?/manager? asked what flavor SHE would like, because it was too beautiful a day for someone to go without ice cream. How cool is that?

Great Gunthers’ Quality Ice Cream!!! Their sandwiches are kinda pricy, but if you are in the nearby area and happen to be hungry while out for desert treats, then Sac Town Ice Cream & Sandwiches is the place to be! They appear to have just opened, and I discovered them through their smart Groupon promotion– and I am so happy to have gone out of our way to this little shop. The staff was super DOOPER friendly, great customer service, and the ICECREAM represent themselves strong on their own! We must have taste tested the two hundred(I’m exaggerating on the number, but THEYHAD A TON!) flavors they had available– ALLFORFREE. And GUESSWHAT, this was encouraged because they want to see their customers happy! I liked how the Menu board breaks down for you which ones had nuts, etc… In the end, we settled on Coffee, Birthday Cake, Mango, and Bubblegum for the little one. I’m jealous that I don’t live close by for their $ 1 Scoop Night on Tuesdays. Maybe that’s a good thing for me– or I would be the size of a whale by the end of summer!

I stopped by last evening to see what all the raves were about. I must say the ice cream is SOOOCREAMY and GOOD! The only downfall is the price. Each scoop is $ 2.60(in a cup). For me it’s a bit expensive and don’t see myself frequenting the place all too often. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you shouldn’t go check it out. What I would recommend is to check out their $ 1/scoop Tuesdays.

Been to this(sorta) new spot more than a couple times. So far, I’ve tried their banana nut ice cream, black and white sundae, and the fudge brownie? Pretty good whenever I have a sweet tooth. I’d rather go here instead of Baskin Robins. Can’t beat Cold Stone though.

The ice cream was Gunther’s and of course great. This place however, wasn’t something I would go out of the way for. There were 3 high school kids working and it wasn’t even busy, but they looked like they were having the worst time of their lives… You scoop ice cream for heaven’s sake, lighten up. When I asked for water, the girl at the counter sighed like I was asking her to go above and beyond. Even if this place had the best damn ice cream I’ve ever had, I wouldn’t come back.

I can’t believe this place has been open over a year and I had never heard of it! This place is definitely a well kept secret! So I decide to go by and check this place out about 7:30 on a Saturday evening. It was pretty crowded when I arrived, but cleared out pretty quickly. They had several employee’s working, so the line went very quickly. Speaking of the employee’s, they were SUPER friendly, and genuine. So I decide to try a submarine sandwich, which comes with your choice of bread, ham, turkey, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. And let me tell you, they do not skimp on the ingredients! My sandwich was huge!(and delicious!!) I really wasn’t expecting much out of this place as far as the sandwich’s go, but I was blown away by how fresh, and yummy it was! I am definitely going to come back and try the tri-tip! As far as the ice cream, well, it’s Gunther’s, what else is there to say? I am so happy to discover I can now get it in North Sacramento! The place is very clean, and they even have a couple of table’s outside. I was going take my ice cream outside to eat, but I was having such a nice conversation with the employee’s, I never got around to it!

Simply said, it’s one of the top three BESTEST ice creams I’ve ever had in my three+ decades of life. Great friendly people work there and it’s very clean. Of course they happily offer samples. Please try their novelty desserts too, they’re quite delicious, especially the nutty cones. Next on my list to try are the fruit freezes.

I finally got a chance to stop by and try the place out. I have driven by this place for a couple months now but always just kept passing it by. I didn’t want to cheat my diet/exercise plan, and the winter weather definitely made stopping by less attractive. The name of the place pretty much speaks for itself. It is in Sac Town, it serves many different flavors of Ice Cream, and they have several kinds of sandwiches including pastrami. It’s a decent size place, much of what you could expect a sandwich or ice cream place to be. Not to big like a regular dine in restaurant, but no small stand in line store either. The staff were composed of primarily teenagers that were pretty friendly and seemed to work good together. I tried the mango ice cream as a sample but was a bit disappointed, so I ended up with some mocha almond fudge and cappuccino ice cream instead. It is located next to a Nail salon in the CVS and Fitness19 shopping center. Pretty good service over all, close to home, ice cream was decent, nice and clean establishment. I enjoy cold stone better, but I can definitely appreciate having this place near by.

First off, this is a local business to Natomas where the owner is a Natomas resident and it shows. Fantastic ice cream(provided by Gunther’s) with amazing prices and a phenomenal staff of college and high school students from the neighborhood. Add to the great ice cream, they have frozen chocolate covered treats including chocolate covered cherries. Only other place I’ve found these is in Old Sacramento(4.50 for a dozen!) This is absolutely a place my wife and I will visit much more often as its great to support a business we can walk to and that has a family atmosphere. We can only hope that more businesses like this open here in North Natomas.

OK, opening night at Sac Town. Since I live close by, I’ve been watching them prepare to open with much anticipation. The ice cream is from Gunther’s, and the location is great for this neighborhood, so I couldn’t wait to get a taste… So tonight I bought a tuna sandwich on wheat bread and a pint of espresso chip ice cream to go. The staff is young kids mostly, but I had very good service. My sandwich is tasty — a tuna sandwich isn’t complicated, but it was done right and was really good. And the ice cream. Yum. If you know Gunther’s, you know it’s good. If you don’t, try some. There’s about 30 flavors, and I wanted to try at least half of them. So I would say it’s a 4 – 4.5 star experience, but I’m giving them a bump since they were good enough to open in my neighborhood. And because I’ll be back often.
