Arrived right when they opened on a Sunday. The restaurant quickly filled up, so get there early or expect to wait. The red spicy ramen was very good, but could be spicier. Extra spicy oils were provided. The staff were very attentive and fast. Was in and out under 30 minutes.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. However the Ramen, despite all the glowing reviews, was average at best. The noodles are not house made or fresh. The appetizers are obviously not made on premises and instead the frozen variety one buys at Costco or Ranch 99. The pork in several of the soups are not more than two deli thin slices of pork that are not lovingly seared prior and simply placed in the barely flavored miso broth with a soft boiled egg. I really wanted to love this place and was starving going in which should have given them a great chance to impress me. Instead the best thing I had there was my Kirin.

One of my favorite places to get ramen. I only order one thing here though. It’s the«spicy» red ramen soup(one of the top 4 soup pictures shown on the menu). It’s not very spicy to me so we order extra of the spicy sauce on the side. I add corn, bamboo, and sometimes extra stuff depending on my belly and tastebuds as well. I’ve tried most of the appetizers and they weren’t appealing or very great to me though

Some things never change. Kuro Tonkatsu, you are winter’s best feature. Flavorful, rich broth, perfectly marinated eggs… the only bowl that can tempt me away from Shoki’s tan-tan-men. The black garlic oil is sublime, just strong enough but not too much so. Ginger slices cut the garlic nicely, and the noodles are just right. So good, it’s worth eating no matter the season.

Pros Seating: This is the only ramen restaurant I’ve gone to that could accommodate large groups. There was plenty of seating inside so I was seated immediately during peak hours. Service: The workers here including the chefs are really friendly and attentive. Cons Broth: Ramen House Ryujin was subpar in comparison to the other ramen joints in the Bay Area, SoCal, and Vegas. I ordered the Kuro Tonkotsu Ramen and the broth was okay. The broth could have used more flavor and it was too runny. The garlic oil didn’t do it much justice since they were skimpy with the garlic oil. Noodles: My noodles were overcooked so it was slimy in every bite.

This is a place of ramen magic. I love in Elk Grove, and when I want ramen, I adventure all the way to this location! This place is ALWAYSPACKED– so be ready for a wait, but go into that wait knowing you’re going to be more than simply satisfied; nay, you are going to be satiated and overjoyed with how unbelievably this ramen rocks your socks off. Plus, the staff their always offer you a glass of water or other beverage while you wait. The edit is never more than 10 min or so. Why? Because people inhale this ramen instead of eating like a normal meal because it’s SOFREAKINGGOOD! The staff is nice, the place is clean, and the ramen is PHENOMENAL. This location is in the SAFEWAY parking lot. Don’t get it confused with the ramen house across the way.

Always on a ramen quest, and I decided to walk 1.5 miles each way to this place from my hotel. It was a nice walk through downtown to midtown, and around 6:30, this ramen shop was already packed. I was seated quickly and ordered fried calamari, the black tonkatsu, and a diet coke. Service was friendly and attentive from beginning to end, which put a good start to my meal. The calamari came piping hot, 5 big pieces, and I ate 2 to save my appetite for my ramen. The ramen came out perfectly with what I wanted, and wow, as much as I kept slurping my noodles down, I had so much noodles still left. Pork was good, a bit fatty, but I was most impressed with their egg that was so flavorful and so different from any other ramen shop. Noodles were cooked well, and the broth was oh so flavorful. Eating solo I wasn’t as hungry, and the manager or head waitress asked me if everything was okay seeing that I hadn’t done much damage on my bowl of noodles. I let her know that I was way too full. She asked me if I wanted to take anything to go, which I noticed others did, but since I was staying at a hotel, I knew I wouldn’t eat it again later. If I did live around the area, I totally would’ve. Kudos to great tasting ramen, that egg, and other appetizers, and most of all, the great service for an Asian restaurant! Should I ever be back in the area, I will so be back here!

I heart noodles. The ramen noodle is my favorite variety. Ryujin does ramen right. I crave the chewy texture of the noodles… the savory pork broth … the delightful soft boiled egg… ahhh… I’m dreaming of noodles right now. Their karaage is also very good, always served crispy and hot with lemon to squeeze on top ! Yum. I just wish ramen was calorie free…

This is not the first time I’ve been here but this is the first time I’m writing a review for this place. My husband and I went to Ramen House Ryujin for lunch. We got here exactly at 11:30(time that they open). The resto was already half-way packed. Service: There was no wait. They sat us down pretty quick. After the host gave us our menu, our server came to our table and greeted us. Mind you, we haven’t opened our menu and he was already asking what we wanted to eat. Luckily, we already know what we were going to order. The customer service was great. We weren’t ignored and was asked multiple times if we were ok and if we needed water. Food: We ordered the #3(Spicy Ramen). I asked to have mine extra spicy. I love the broth and the spice level was just right. The ramen consisted of noodle, 2 slices of pork, an egg, ginger, and seaweed. Overall, I would come back again.

Love this place! They might not have the best ramen… but it’s still very delicious and filling! Other places are not as filling and require you to spend more to get more food! Not here… one bowl and you leave a pretty satisfied customer. When I go there… I really don’t deal with the appetizers… nothing they have really appeal to me. I straight go for the ramen! They have a lot of different bowls of noodles… but the ones I usually get are on one page… it comes in red, white, or black soup. All very yummy! The noodles have a good consistency… not too soft. Some people would put some extra ingredients from the table(soy sauce, pepper, seasoning, etc.)…but I’m a happy camper to eat the bowl of goodness as is. I’ve been craving for ramen for about a week and half now… and after writing this review… I might have to stop by again some time soon! Only bad thing… or two actually. — when busy… it can be a wait… a long wait. — shares a parking lot with a few other stores… including Safeway.

FOUND and been getting my Ramen fix for couple of years now. Bowls of broth with nice and chewy noodles perfect add extra or even double noodles. This ramen shop packs ramen fans specially on cold or rainy days it’s wonderful and filling makes you go back for more. Aka Ramen Spicky or Kuro Ramen with black garlic oil best bowls add extras like corn or chasu, appetizers GESO fried squid legss, Gyoza and a cold glass of SAPPORO beer. If you are not into the RAMEN they also have Curry on the menu or Donburi like teriyaki chicken or beef over rice. They open for lunch around 11am and again for dinner around 5pm so check their hours before yougo. It’s reasonably priced and will fill you up(finishing up the broth to the last drop) YUMMY

Yum I love legit ramen! This place is almost always busy if you come at night. You’ll see people from all over Sac come here, including Davis students. Beware on weekends waits can be super long. Aka Tonkatsu Ramen: 4.5÷5 — I love this spicy ramen! I always ask for more spicy because I have a high tolerance. The egg is so good!!! Katsu Curry: 3.5÷5 — The curry here tastes like it was made from a cheap brand. It’s good, but I’ve had better. Tan tan Ramen: 3.5÷5 — I think it’s good but not as good as the spicy ramen! Prices are average for ramen! But you won’t find better ramen elsewhere in Sacramento ;) Ambience is chill especially during the winter when everyone comes for a warm bowl of ramen. Service here can be slow on weekends so be prepared to ask for your waters to be refilled.

Come for the ramen, stay for the egg! This is my favorite ramen spot and I always order the aka tonkotsu(red) with corn(.50 extra). It’s full of flavor and has the right spice if you like spicy food. The BBQ pork is soft and tender. I especially loveeeeee the seasoned egg that it comes with. It’s sweet and has the perfect gooeyness to it. Absolutely perfection! The noodles were a little hard this time around and not as soft, but it was still good. My BF always orders his favorite kind of ramen, which is the tsukemen and he has no complaints. We also ordered an appetizer, the shu mai. It’s deep fried crab dumplings and it was really good! I definitely recommend coming to Ryujin and trying out their ramen. They also have other selections to choose from if you don’t like ramen such as katsu don, chicken or beef curry & lots of appetizers to choose from.

I come here all the time and it’s definitely my favorite ramen house in Sacramento! My «go-to» is the tonkotsu black ramen, which has their black oil in the broth that makes it so good. It comes with your typical chashu pork, soft-boiled egg, and cabbage. If your wanting something more on the spicy side, try the tonkotsu red ramen. I also love how this place doesn’t just have ramen. They offer other dishes from curry, karaage chicken, to gyoza. Everything here is very good and flavorful. It reminds me of my days in Japan. If you come on a weekend, be prepared to stand in line, as the wait can be pretty long. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is nice and cozy. I can eat here everyday!

Ryujin is has the best tasting ramen I have had in a long time. I went on a Sunday afternoon and ended up waiting for about 15min before getting a table for 2. The portions were not too large but still filling and the price was very reasonable. I had their Aka ramen and it the broth was perfect w/just the right level of spice. It included an egg and tender slices of juicy pork. They were very accommodating to my gf who is a vegetarian. They allowed her to order a custom vegetarian version of mapo ramen with miso/veg broth instead of the traditional chicken/soy sauce broth. Hers was delicious also. And kudos for a ramen house also offering more than 1 vegetarian option.

Been here a few times so far. If I like the food, I usually like to at least stop by a place a few times before I write something up so I feel better recommending it xD but my memory to take care of things slips by the wayside so I’m revisiting my experience. In any case, the food was clean and well prepared. The broth was flavorful, the noodles had a good consistency to them. Malleable enough to keep me going back to them and didn’t turn to mush over the course of eating them. I got the tako appetizer(I love fried things despite them not loving me) and the kuro tonkatsu ramen. My only thing with sitting in would be that the broth wasn’t as hot as I’d like it a few times and one of the times the appetizer came out cold which made it rubbery and chewy. The flavor was still good though, and getting chili oil to spice things up on the side certainly helps. The service is always quick and attentive. This place gets packed during dinner so be wary if you’re hoping for a table. A single guy coming in by himself makes it super easy to find a place at the counter. I think the longest I’ve had to wait was 10 minutes even with the hustle and bustle. Bottom line: brought friends here, it’s yummy and legit for the area. Not the best I’ve had but will definitely cure a craving in fine fashion. Due to the possibility of long wait times for tables, if you live nearby getting it to go may be better if you’re hungry. I’m personally contemplating just bringing my own bowl and chopsticks and jamming out in my car while scarfing it all down.

This is probably the best ramen in town. There’s a good variety from traditional to a little more modern take on ramen. I usually go with red or black depending if I want earthy or spicy. Probably 90% of the time coming here is usually after a night of drinking and there’s nothing better than ending the night with warm hearty food. I’ve had lighter broth(eg Shoki) and here which is a little richer which I prefer. If you’re looking for more of stick to your lips type broth then this is the place. Also the broth and noodles always come out piping hot.

I love ramen. And so I found this place and there are two ramen restaurants right across the street from each other(same owner !). Had miso ramen and another spicy one(mildy spicey). Big serving and very flavorful. I though mine(spicey one) was a little salty but still yummy. Both came with a whole egg, cabbage and pork and they kindly obliged when I asked for tofu(and didn’t even charge extra!). Wow. The gyoza was delicious and the noodle wasn’t too thick which is always a plus. Definitely will come back and try another bowl when I’m in the area.

Man. Sometimes I wish I was still at Davis so Ramen Ryujin is a short 20 minute drive away rather than a 2 hour drive :( The ramen here is really good. I love how they add quite a bit of toppings in each bowl. My favorite part of it is the egg. If you love soft-boiled egg, this will be heaven for you. I don’t think there was ever a time when the egg was not freaking amazing. As with any ramen places, what really makes up the ramen is the noodles and broth. The noodles are good — not too firm but not too soft as well. It’s just right for my liking. The broths here are really good. My favorite is the Kuro Tonkotsu which has black garlic oil. The Shiro is also really good — think of it as the Kuro without the garlic oil. They have quite a bit of seating and parking in the Safeway plaza. Service here has always been spot on as well. Craving ramen? This is the place to be. Can’t wait to come back!

Perfect day for Ramen when your friends are having a hangover lol Unilocal to the rescue. Only half a mile from my location and stumbled onto a gem! Seated right away with many choices on the menu. MMmm garlic tonkotsu flavor? Yes I’ll take that… just within 10mins our ramen was brought out. As you can tell from my photo black truffle oil and steaming aroma of marinated pork belly, ramen and soft boiled egg which was flavorful. Results? Yummy to my tummy! The end.
