**THISREVIEWISPURELYFORTHEKARAOKE** I have been to 5 other karaōke places and this place, by far, has been the best. Here are some problems I have run into at OTHER karaōke places: –Exorbitant rates, especially at night time –Getting charged a rate based on how many people are supposed to fit in the room –Music selection not updated or not enough English songs to choose from –Flipping through different music books to try and find the song you want and then having to memorize the number and punch them into a remote control –Remote controls in other languages(I can’t read Korean!) –Typical nature scenes in the background, or, better yet, a blue screen. Let me tell you, Oishii’s karaōke experience is NONE of these. The rates are pretty affordable even in the evening, the rooms look nice, and I love the touch screen and how they have the actual music videos playing in the background. In addition, you can order alcohol, water, and sushi to be brought to you(at an additional cost). For a small room that can fit up to 8 people, the rate is $ 30/hr plus a 15% gratuity fee. Ended up paying $ 20 for 3 hours of karaōke. Worth it. This is now my new favorite karaōke place. Until next time!

The Sushi here is AMAZING! Everything tasted so fresh and the portions were very reasonable. I got the spicy tuna roll and my friends got the salmon sashimi and shrimp tempura and they had nothing but great things to say about their food! I give it a four out of five because the service could have been a little better, but defiantly worth a trip if you are looking for some great food and an awesome atmosphere!

It was really cute and cool vibes. Nice that you can bring the whole family but still feel like your out on the town with friends.

I gave this place few too many tries. I ordered sashimi Dinner n the sashimi was a lazy cut n it was thick. When I say lazy, I mean it looks like someone didn’t put any effort into cutting it thin n nice. It was a straight cut. It makes a difference in taste wise. I didn’t even get to enjoy it. Waste of money. We also had the deep fried squid. Badder was soggy n squid was so hard to chew. Especially when it was cut into big pieces. Felt like I was chewing on rubber. Other dishes was not flavorful either. As for the service, we had this new server girl, which it was understandable that she doesn’t know much about sushi but when you’re frustrated n try to hide it, we can see it in your eyes n body language. She came by couple times to take order but we weren’t ready. Without saying anything, she just walked away. It wasn’t like it was busy. We were the only group seated at that time. Karaōke wait was awful. They said our room was ready but made us waited 20 mins. The girl in the front who was in charge of the karaōke rooms left somewhere n she never came back. The security guard was nice enough to find someone to help us then a different girl came by n said, «oh, you’re the group». What was that suppose to mean… I tried not to come here. Only if someone holds their bday here. With that said, we had another horrible experience here again.

F*ck. if I could give them a damn zero, I would. The servers are effing HORRIBLE. I ALREADYGAVETHEM A BADREVIEW. how much more of a negative comment can I give this place. They need better management skills and servers. The server we had knew absolutely nothing about the damn sushi. I’ve given this place more than 2 tries & tonight was enough for me. I am DONE with this bullshit place. All the servers have fake ass attitudes and smiles. Nonsense of customer service what so ever. I’ve never written this bad of a review. But I think they deserve this.

No one should ever come here. Our waitress was incredibly awkward and clueless. The food took around an hour to arrive and there were multiple items missing. Then on top of that the food was bad. Sushi was bad. Sauces were bad. It was all just so bad.

Came here with a group of 13 on a Saturday evening for karaōke. My cousin had reserved the medium room a week ahead of time and had no problems with availability. We started the festivities at 5 pm and had booked the room for 3 hours during happy hour(half off room rental yay!), but ended up having such a great time that we stayed until 9 pm. They also serve food inside the karaōke room and allowed us to have separate tabs, which is very convenient. The food was decent, but I’m not sure if I would come here just for the food. The service was nice, although there were several times that other people in my party wanted to order food/drinks and the wait staff wasn’t around. They missed out on some more food sales! Overall a nice place to go for karaōke in a private room. Nice song selection with lots of current songs as well. Will definitely come back the next time I feel like singing my heart out with friends and family. Tip: There’s a Unilocal Check-In for validated parking, although I’m not sure which parking garage this applies to.

Came here with my cousins and some of his friends as a way to send him off before he left home! I had a BLAST and happy hour made for super affordable karaōke time(even though my sister actually spotted me this time, thanks sis!) I like the fact that you get your own karaōke room with your group and it’s not an open bar/you-have-to-sing-in-front-of-the-whole-world kind of deal. Only reason why it’s not 5 stars is because the waitress got our order confused and we never got something we ordered :(we weren’t charged for it, but it’s still sad. Perhaps their order taking system can be improved, or the fact that it’s a karaōke room and we had a large party contributed to the confusion of the ordering.

Here I am 1029pm at night… I came in at 9pm asked about a booth for my family for karaōke and food. I was told the kitchen closed at 10pm. Some say down in the restaurant area to get some food before it closes. The waitress didn’t know ANYTHING about the menu. I asked about a item On the menu she said it’s just a picture we don’t really make that. The alcoholic drinks tasted like a powder sweet tea mix. The food was TERRIBLE!!! So when me and my family are some eating we asked about a room. The guy said we have no small rooms but we have medium rooms available for the small room price. My sister asked if they could accommodate for us, they said no you will be charged for the medium room. WASTEOFTIME! FOODSUCKS! CUSTOMERSERVICESUCKS! Save your money and go somewhere else. Hopefully this place closes before the new arena opens so more people aren’t ripped off

Oishii is a solid karaōke bar with an updated Taiwanese touch screen system and also offers average Japanese dishes. While the song system is pretty good and also is good at featuring recent songs, the service is average and the food isn’t too great– not warranting the prices and also 29.99 price per room for small rooms. Pros: The touch screen system is easy to navigate, making it especially easy to find popular Asian artists. The rooms each have personality with their decorations and cool glowing table. I like the service button and that the waiters usually bring water. Cons: Everytime I’ve gone the mic system is always off with one mic not working or one mic being too quiet, etc. While most of the recent songs also have music videos, older songs will have the background of European countries and a random lady. The food is subpar for Japanese, and drinks are just ok here. Overall, its a fun stop in downtown Sac, but I think it’s pretty overpriced. I recommend coming at happy hour before 8PM if you don’t mind singing your heart out earlier in the day!

I love KARAOKE(in a private room)! The prices are a bit high, but with a group of four or more, you’ll be good. The happy hours are SUPER~ the food was surprisingly good for what I expect. Whenever there are a bar and karaōke, I expect bad food, but it tasted good. No, not great, but good. **The karaōke price at happy hour is half off as well! The technology is super, but quite confusing, when you use it for the first time. Once you came a couple of times, it gets easier. There are lots of functions, such as the lighting of the room, the volume to the music and speakers, the table’s(that has lights within it) color patterns and flashing rhymes, randoms noises that gets shirked over the giant speakers, etc. Song choices are bundle, but not every song is available. The newer songs have the actual music videos included. It’s kinds of nice. Service is slow and inattentive for the most part. IT is a hit or miss with your sever.

How do you give no stars? This is the worst experience I’ve ever had on my birthday!!! Check my other reviews. I very rarely give bad reviews. The thought someone else would experience the same thing as me forced me to do this. I decided to have a little get together for my birthday and called Oishii to book a room. After hearing that the smaller rooms fit about 15 people I requested the VIP room. They told me I had to pay a $ 50 deposit and I could have the room 8:00pm until closing. I knew I would need this because all my people like to sing. I booked this room 21 days before the event day. An hour before I was suppose to arrive I had a weird feeling so I called Oishii to make sure they had my reservation. The person I talked to on the phone confirmed I had the reservation and told me she would see soon. My party all arrived at the same time. Around 20 people. I gave them my name and they said they didn’t have my reservation. The manger and hosts were obviously putting on a show. They were all acting like they had no idea what I was talking about. I then showed the guy who claimed he was the manager my credit card statement showing the charge. They overbooked the room and decided to give the room to a party that had not went into the room. Then the manger called security and asked for our party to leave. I asked him directly what are we doing that you are requesting security to have us leave? He said I never told them to come. The only thing they could do was offer me a room that fits 8 – 10 people. My party had now grown to 30 people. They showed us to the room and didn’t even say sorry. I hated the thought of leaving when all of my friends were there. Half of them were from out of town. None of the employees apologized or offered any discounts, drinks, or food. If you decide to book a room at this place please confirm in person ahead of time and bring a copy of your receipt. Then you will need to camp out for 4 hours before your reservation to make sure the staff don’t give your room to someone else. Good luck!

I’ve come to this place multiple times for Karaōke, and most recently for the Sushi Showdown event. As for Sushi Showdown, it was a very interesting event which consisted of two chef’s battling to decide which one has better dishes. It started off with samples of multiple sashimi. But then both chefs competed in dishes such as(2x appetizers, 2x sashimi, 2x sushi, 2x dessert). Each dish consisted of a small sample, in which participants got to try 1 piece of each. During the event, there were also a couple of sake-bomb challenges which were offered to a few participants join in on. This was very interesting! The event was overall fun, as we were able to try different things from both chefs. Sadly, as I was hoping to leave full, I was actually still pretty hungry, as samples weren’t enough to be considered a dinner course. The Karaōke on the other hand, is pretty fun, with a relatively large selection of songs to choose from. It’s great to come in with a group of friends for songs & drinks. I recommend going during happy hour since they offer a pretty good deal on drinks and the room. Parking is on the street, and can be difficult to get good parking during busy times on weekdays/week-ends.

Continuing A Legacy Of Sushii & Karokee Insanityy! SITREP I’ve had so much fun at Oishii with friends — and become familiar with it’s offerings & protocols — that this time I was willing to take the step: DOITWITHCOWORKERS! THESETUP I have newbies up from all over the state(SoCal, Bay Area, Chico, Fresno, etc.) who are at our 4-week Investigation academy(…poor kids… the hell we put ‘em thru…). SO… it is totally appropro to have them let off some steam in a fun way: enter Karaōke! Oshii has proven to be a fun karaōke establishment located on «The Kay»(The K Street Mall, along K Street @ 10th St) in Downtown Sacramento. SUSHI First off, though, Oishii is a sushi restaurant(Sushi!) and sports bar(Chicken Wings!), so there are many yummy offerings and delicious drinks to partake of. We enjoyed: * Spider Rolls * Shrimp Tempura Rolls * Spicy Tuna Rolls * Salmon Rolls * Chicken Rings * Onion Rings * Etc. Etc. Etc. And the boys did some sake bombs to boot! HAPPYHOURS Oishii also has a great happy hour! None of this«stop-at-5pm”-crap either. The menu says the happy hour goes til 7pm. Special Note: HOWEVER, the website says the happy hour goes til 8PM! Mention that to the server and she will honor the Happy Hour pricing on rolls & appetizers & drinks until 8PM. KARAOKE Now this is actually a separate set-up, and the food & drinks are done separately from the rooms. So there will be 2 separate bills(or how many separate food bills there are too, since they allowed us to split our table of 6 into 6 different food & drink checks. The rooms are all different sizes! On prior occasions, I’ve been in the big rooms that can fit 20 people. On this occasion, there were 6 of us, and the small room we got was nice & cozy, but big enough for us to get up and head-bang or country line-dance to our heart’s desires. Special Note #2: We COULD have gotten the room earlier and had our food and drinks inside it while doing Karaōke, but we had not gotten THAT«memo.» In any event, with the jumping & jostling we were doing in the room, it was probably best that there were no food dishes on the tables anyways. SONGTRACKS — VERYDIVERSE! And then comes the Karaōke! Great selection! Top 40! Classics! I was even partial to the foreign language offerings of Korean & Japanese!(But I decided to save everyone’s ears from my attempts to sing in those languages(since I don’t know them anyways) and had fun with the English catalogue — in fact, my rendition of «My Milkshake» brought everyone to the yard. ;) LATE! You can sing and get munchies til late! It’s open til 3am most nights(though the alcohol drinks generally cut off at 1:40am as per local municipal codes). THELOWDOWN Karaōke fun on The Kay!

I’ll admit Oishii is a schmancy place on the Kay for some karaōke and eats. From the elevator entry-method to the modern interior, it does make a statement. Made reservations for a small group(4) and the room was a decent size. Didn’t order any food, but did avail of a pitcher of Blue Moon to get us going. They don’t take same-day reservations, so do call ahead if you want to go. Not my first time at a private karaōke session(Tokyo, Manila, SF), the system was definitely very high-tetch(yes, I misspelled that on purpose, imagine a Filipino accent) for my liking. The default language of the menus is Chinese or Japanese, and figuring out the touchscreen was a little challenging. The thing also froze on us multiple times, requiring us to summon a worker to physically unlock the cabinet and reset it every time… annoying! Call me old-school, but I’m a fan of keeping it simple, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Not that I’m asking for laserdiscs back or anything, but I’d rather have a more reliable lower-tech system. Whether that’s chips in the actual microphone with song choices(Magic Microphone), or a remote system, give me a book/binder anyday with the song list instead of a silly touchscreen menu in a foreign language! Restrooms convenient down the hall, clean. Was fun, but never really came back after that first visit. For greater Sacramento, I prefer RuRuLaLa on Folsom Blvd(Korean-run).

Was satisfied with the lunch menu. Typical rolls offered. As with many new sushi startups, not much differences in flavor. This place steps it up with a fun atmosphere and stylish dish presentation. Returned for a birthday celebration and took advantage of the karaōke room. Fried desserts were interesting. All gone! Needless to say, drank my courage, enough to get up and sing. Good value for the karaōke.

Scrawled somewhere in a dining-out handbook is a hard-and-fast rule discouraging visits to places that serve two purposes, especially when it comes to sushi and karaōke. Clearly I overlooked this rule as I found myself wearily downing lukewarm, unappealing cuts of salmon paired with greased, hastily fried noodles. If not for the dim room and canopy of nauseating florescents, one might be able to spot the package of pre-cooked, definitely frozen salmon undoubtedly sourced from the local warehouse club. I guess I should count myself fortunate that everything was at least edible, and that I am not heaving. The bar was acceptable and the karaōke room/system passable. There are, however, far better places in Sacramento for karaōke, and most definitely for sushi. But if personal dignity and standards are suspended, then I recommend coming in already sloshed. It’ll save you a few dollars at the bar, at least.

I’ve been to Oishii once before a long, long time ago when they first opened. I remembered happy hour was cool and they were super busy. What happened? Oishii appeared on groupon not too long ago so I decided to check them out again. My husband and I stopped in last week Wednesday around 7:00PM. The place was EMPTY. There was maybe 1 other person at the bar and another table of 2 came in later. We had our choice of seats and the server brought our menus and water. We decided to go simple with the Ton Katsu, Oishi Jumbo Roll and Volcano Roll. We found the food to be just okay. The Ton Katsu came with just rice and didn’t have much flavor. The Jumbo Roll was really JUMBO and tasted pretty good. The Volcano roll didn’t have anything special about it. I think service could have been a little faster since they weren’t busy. One thing I did notice was Oishii is pretty«clubbish» even earlier in the evening. I wonder if this is one of the factors that might be keeping the dinner crowd away. I hope Oishi survives but if you ask me, for now I’d skip Oishii and walk a little farther down to Osaka for a nicer dinner environment and quality food.

Via the best toilet a person can have(just got charged up) On Thursday night, I ordered one agedashi tofu, pink lady, two orders of tuna tataki. Few days later I just made my toilet #1 on my speed dial, it safe to call it food poisoning I been eating sushi for while. Even the vast amount of ginger couldn’t help me. I rarely write reviews but this is something I need to share so nobody goes through this. ZEROSTARSIF applicable

We rented out the vip room. For the first 20 minutes their mic didnt work so we kept telling them to not charge us for the time. They assured us they did not. So we ordered a bottle of patron($ 150). The vip room was $ 80/hour we were in there for 1 and a half hour. So one bottle and 1.5 hours and the tab came out to 408 $… There is a hidden«cleaning fee and gratuity fee» because if my math is correct it should have been 120 $ for the room plus $ 150 for a bottle with taxes and fees at most is $ 320 so we got charged an extra $ 90 worth of hidden fees. Their food here isn’t even all that they need to be flat out more blunt with their prices. No security or anything and they are known for having fights.
