We ordered the chicken salad, dressing on the side, it came covered with dressing that we did not want, it was returned, when it came back it was half the size, apparently picked off and not remade. My wife ordered the open faced turkey sandwich, served with beef gravy and cold cornbread. we complained, the manager couldn’t be bothered, adjustment to the bill was, senior discount, which we got anyway. The next table over the woman had specifically asked the no red pepper flakes be on her food. Guess what? red pepper flake, she said that she was deathly allergic to red pepper flakes and if she hadn’t seen them the second time she would have had to have the EMTs take her to the ER, so she refused the order and would not order anything else. The manager never intervened to correct the mistakes or reassure costumers they would receive good food and service We will never eat there again

This review is based on the kindness and outstanding service given by Lucia. My mother-in-law has not been able to return to her life or home in several months due to health issues. One place she wanted to visit recently was a place that made her feel appreciated and where kindness has been served to her along with her breakfast. Kindness goes along way in the world of hipsters we see in Seattle and other big cities. The need to be cool over the need to be kind. We took my mom-in-law there and she was greeted with authentic warmness from Lucia. Service was excellent and my mom-in-law left a very happy woman. THANKYOU Lucia, you are appreciated!

It’s been years since I’ve ventured into Marie Callander’s. After coming in for a late lunch with my sister last weekend I’ve been back with the entire family. The food arrives marvelous warm and each bite size morsel decandance within the limitless array of taste. From the pasta to the hamburger entrees the experience is a foodie’s dream. Awah… and the pies make you wish to lean back and enjoy the moment.

the food is ok, but this is the only place where the cashier asked how much you put on the tip.

Worst fucken service ever. Ordered chicken pot pie and a side of tator tots to go. Pot pie was cold, and no tator tots were given. Went back to get a refund, and didnt even offer me anything.

I placed a phone order and the employee didn’t seem to want to allow me to order more than one item, trying to give me a total after each item was ordered. At the end he correctly repeated my order. He asked for my name and I told him JR. He asked me to spell it and I said J R. He then asked, «you mean like the letters J & R?» When I picked up my order one item was missing and had to be added to my check. They also wouldn’t accept a coupon that does NOT say«dine in only.» Other customers at the counter were also mad for the same reason. Not going back again.

Very crowded but it is a Friday night. Food is your typical American comfort foods. Chicken Pot Pie is their specialty and their pies are very good too. They ran out of the petite pot pie so I had to order the larger one but the hostess comped my cup of chowder. And we got a few piece of pie too!

I came here on December 30,2015. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and let’s just say it was not spicy. It was an ok chicken sandwich. I’m pretty disappointed with the waitress she didn’t check on my regularly and I needed a refill of my water. I also had asked her what the cost of the Chocolate Satin Pie was and she never told me after she said that she will go check. I can see why this place has horrible reviews. I do love the chocolate satin pie. Everything else not so much.

I don’t really come here too often, but the wife likes the down home comfy meals served here with a side of excellent customer service. They are running $ 6-$ 9 entrée specials right now, and I got the $ 6 Grilled cheese and bacon with a side of fries, and the wife got the $ 9 Open faced hot turkey sandwich. The portions were generous, and very flavorful, and the service was nice, pleasant and efficient. The crowd tends to lean to the older side, so the place is very quiet. Of course, the real reason people come here is for the PIE, and the add on price was $ 1.99 with the purchase of the entrée, so we had to get a few slices, Lemon Meringue for me and Lemon Cream Cheese for the wife! Both were excellent! No pretentiousness, just a simple meal, prepared simply, by nice people.

I have been a patron of this place forever, the past two times I have gone here the last time being yesterday the customer service has been terrible. There is a little Hispanic lady who is amazing however she is the only one I ever see working. The manager just trolls around here and there and there is another Caucasian women with blonde hair who has zero customer service. I sat at a table waiting to have my order taken or even acknowledged for at least 5 or more minutes, and then I heard her say she didn’t know she had customers or something of that nature, long story short she’s unprofessional. I continue to go back because I love this place and the one good waiter also because service has not always been like this they only recently started to become busy very busy, I just wish they would staff accordingly.

Met friends for breakfast this morning. The host gave us the«Value Menu» which offers your about a 7 items to select from — very affordable prices… From $ 3.99-$ 5.99. You can choose from 3 cheese omelet that includes hash browns, Short stack, Steel Oats, Bacon and eggs, and other Yummy Items that will fit any appetite. The service was excellent. The waitress brought a plate full of sliced Blueberry loaf that’s included at no charge with the meal. It went very well with the never ending coffee refill. Had the Steel Oats for breakfast. Cooked perfectly… came with cranberries, pecans, brown sugar, and fruit on the side. Very filling. I will definitely be back for breakfast to try Marie’s Magnificant Six!

Good food and a lovely waiter! I had the turkey burger and coconut cream pie for dessert. The pie wasn’t that great, but the burger and fries were good.

The food just isn’t as good as it used to be. No flavor and very high prices. The waitress was a bit rude to my husband after she got his order wrong, she even pulled out her book to «show» him that he was wrong. The only thing I would go here for in the future is the soup and the pie. There aren’t many Marie Callenders around anymore but definitely there are ones better than this one. The other time we have been here, there was a male server and he was the reason we came back. He was excellent.

Let me start by saying I worked at a Marie Callenders out of high school so I suppose I have some biases about what makes a «good» MC versus one that’s hanging by a thread… This location in South Sac is the latter. The salad bar is nothing more than what you’d expect to see at a low end pizza parlor. The fettucine was bland(at $ 15.99 or thereabout I had higher hopes) and despite the kids eating«free» on Saturday we racked up a $ 53 tab by the end. Mind you we agreed to the addition of the items but literally everything has gone way up in price! To add the salad bar to a meal is $ 4.99(not too bad I guess) but a bowl of soup is now $ 7 and to add a single scoop of vanilla ice cream to your pie is almost $ 3 each. In other words, if you want an entrée and some of their excellent soup(potato cheese is seriously awesome!) you’re looking at about $ 16 – 18 per person. Sorry but Marie Callenders(at least this location) just isn’t that nice or that good outside of the soup and pies for me to pay what I’d gladly pay at BJ’s or somewhere way cleaner and nicer. The service, I’ve been to this location twice, has been both excellent(first trip) and kind of insulting(second trip). Unfortunately the one that sticks with me in the insult, I don’t pay good money to have a waitress be rude to me and that’s exactly what happened. She immediately realized her misstep(I assume) b/c she brought up like three different times«my bad», «I’m sorry», etc… so I kind of let it go. Then her mistake stayed on my bill(higher cost) as she charged for me what she thought I ordered(a higher price item than what I actually asked for). At that point, I was annoyed and just wanted to leave. I’d go back to this location to get take-out of the soup and pies but that’s probably it.

Service was excellent but I was disappointed in the food. I’ve had their TV dinners that tasted better! This was more on the level of Denny’s. No Bueno… perhaps it was just this location. My stars were for service only

Before i came here, i google to see what time it closes at. i saw that it closes at 9:30pm so i was like sweet. i came here and picked up a coconut cream pie for my moms bday. i came here to get it because when she was younger she use to come here for them coconut cream pie with my dad. they say its excellent. so i thought that was a good idea to replace cake since she denied cake this time. i then walked in and got greeted and then i went ahead and picked out a pie and then they packed it to go. i also asked for a water cup and they were nice and gave me it in a foam cup. I was excited how the pies were on sale for 7.99 so it was a steal. but normally i think the price is about 13 bucks for a pie. so its a limited time deal for vday. the pie tasted ok. i am not a big fan of coconut cream pies, i much rather have key lime pie. but the pie wasn’t overly sweet but it was average. the cream was very smooth and creamy. as i was cutting the crust the crust wasn’t strong enough to hold the pie slice and instead it crumbled. overall they liked it especially my dad. if your a pie fan or craving for some pie i did recommend this place lots of choices to choose from.

Marie Callender’s seems to be really popular for some people. I’ve never eaten at one though. I’ve never even eaten the frozen foods I would see at the grocery stores. I came in for lunch and ordered off the Mid-Day Mix-Ups menu(entrée and two sides for $ 8.99). I had the four cheese ravioli. I didn’t care for the tomato cream sauce. I scraped some of it off the raviolis. As one of my sides, I had the wedge salad. My other side was a slice of pie, which it what they’re most known for. I had the banana cream. It wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it was the best part of the meal. I liked the custard and bananas. If you haven’t tried their pies before, now is a good opportunity. Whole pies are now on sale for $ 7.99!

One caveat — this review covers their breakfast only, and it focuses primarily on what I’ll refer to as the«value menu.» This menu is available except on Sunday, and within the menu are nine(I believe) items at almost anachronistic, affordable price points — $ 3.99, $ 4.99, and $ 5.99. At that mid price-point, you can, for example, order at three-cheese omelet that comes with hash browns, and they don’t cheat you on the quantity. There are also pancake, croissant sandwich, and other options that will fit the bill for just about any appetite. The service is friendly and efficient. The sun can shine directly on certain tables, so they’re sensitive to closing the blinds when needed. My iced tea was refreshed without hesitation, time after time. Beware the blueberry breakfast loaf that is also provided at no charge as a precursor to the meal itself. It’s just too sugary and buttery to ingest, unless you’re hungover or just so hungry that you need this to start your day. It’s a generous touch, but I kind of wish they had a lighter starter option, particularly since their portions are reasonably generous — very generous if you consider the value. I personally order the omelet — I’ve tried other options that taste good, but the execution on the omelet and hash browns is seamless every time. And at that price, you just can’t beat it.

A popular place on Sunday afternoon for the church crowd — today was no exception and the restaurant was jammed packed. Even with this being said the service was not affected and staff was friendly and very attentive especially Victor! I will say however I was disappointed with my sandwich — the chicken habanero. Sloppy to eat and the chicken was so tough I had a hard time cutting through it with my knife! I only ate half of it because it really wasn’t good. I’m not going to let this food experience stop me from returning. Normally the food quality at Marie Calendar’s is quite good.

$ 7.99 pie sale in the month of October! Get them while you can! They offer this promo 3 times a year. It’s only my second time at a Marie Callender’s, both times I tried the banana cream pie(delicious and not too sweet). I also got an Apple pie this time, which I thought was sweeter than the banana cream pie and not as good. It’s a restaurant too, never eaten here, don’t really plan to. If you bring the tin back, they will refund you the tin cost(~$ 0.50).
