This place has been here forever and is a true«dive bar» with a card room and a restaurant. Great food and a super beer selection. The Ruben sandwich gets five stars.

Rethinking this place. I like the place, but I do not like being pressured by the GM to buy shots for me and my girlfriends so as to improve the Limelights lagging profits. Poor taste and lacking in class, my friend.

My new home away from home. Great food. Friendly staff. Nice TV setups, multiple games. Kid friendly. Try the French toast or the crab sandwich special. Oh and you can play blackjack during halftime.

First off, I can’t say enough good things about the card room and it’s staff. It is a small venue, but a very nice place to play low ball, and on the weekends high stakes poker. Now, as to the café, good to excellent food, when you get the right chef. Sadly, several of the food preparers are very, very laid back. They lack supervision or maybe the desire to put out a good food product. They leave components off of even the signature dishes, meaning you have to send the food back to be prepared correctly. Very annoying. The food servers are ok, but seem easily overwhelmed. The new owners seem to care about building business. I think the café side would benefit by having a strong manager riding heard on what goes out of the kitchen. I don’t like to complain about the little things, but as I am paying a premium price for the food, why not get it right?

Slimelight. I actually haven’t been here in so many years. Limelight is your typical bar but they have a Cardroom. They serve food. Indoor/Outdoor seating. Smoking is allowed in the patio and they also have heaters hanging out there but they don’t all always work. They have a parking lot but you can also find metered parking on the street. Bottomless mimosas are an option during brunch on weekends. They didn’t have vegan options other than maybe a cup of fruit. My favorite part of Limelight is the memorabilia on the walls because I never knew about the existence of Sacramento Solons before. First of all, I didn’t know what the word Solons was. I know there’s a Solons Alley and that’s the first I had heard of the word but then I heard it again pertaining to this old Triple A baseball team. I learned a little Sacramento history here. and that’s cool.

I remember I came here one time for lunch when I had training for US Bank. I never knew they had a card room in the back. My girlfriend and I enjoy coming to this place because we get to enjoy happy hour and a little bit of entertainment(blackjack). The employees here at the bar and the dealers are very attentive and nice. Definitely would recommend this place if you want to just have a fun/chill night with friends or your significant other.

Limelight is definitely my favorite place for Sunday brunch! The food is great, the mimosas are bottomless, they have different TV’s showcasing all the football games and the staff is incredible. They are on top of everything and always there when you need something! I love the outdoor patio!

I could have sworn I already reviewed this spot, but that’s ok. This place is one of our favorite places to go. This place just recently went through new ownership and management changes. So things are a bit different than what we are used to. But havent stopped us from coming here. First off, it’s a dive bar. Good drinks. Friendly bartenders, and pretty good music most of the time. There is a card room in the back if that fits your fancy. Our favorite thing is they serve food pretty late. And the food is pretty good! I’m going to be honest, it’s not as amazing as it was with previous management. But you can still tell they are tweaking things. And yes, the food is still good enough we always order food. The food is flavorful and comes out hot. So I won’t be too picky. Looking for a friendly atmosphere, friendly service, good food, and good drinks… and wanna watch the game too? This is the spot.

Literally one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. I’ve only been here once with my coworkers during the evening, we work down the street and are regulars here. This morning was my second time here and let’s just start out with our waitress, who gave us all attitude from the get go, we overlooked it but unfortunately she continued to do it. She seemed to have no idea what she was talking about. A few of us had problems with our food, and then to top it all off one of us found a hair in our burger and at that point I put down my food and was ready to leave. Not how I wanted to spend my Sunday morning! Thankfully the manager came and did whatever he could to better our experience, which is why I’ll give three stars instead of 1.

I’ve been here several times before since we work down the street. Today however was one of the most horrible experiences to date. First the waitress completely was lost with the menu items and did not know what she was doing or even how to take an order. Her attitude was probably worse than getting the wrong food, missing items or hair in our burger. The manager tried his best to cover for the incompetent waitress but he could only do so much. He did a good job to fix her mistakes(giving credit where credit is due) I personally will never come back here again and would recommend anyone to avoid the waitress: Jackie!

You don’t have to play cards to eat at the Limelight… In fact, there are two distinct areas of this place. The back is a hard core casino, dimly lit and has a lot of activity going on at all times. The Bar area, at least at lunchtime, is super clean, open and serves a great lunch as well. We went for lunch on Wednesday(entrance on the left side) and the place was pretty open, sans a few sitting at the bar area. Ordered the daily special and it did not disappoint. Both the waitress and the bartender worked in tandem as they gave impeccable service, and were very accommodating, checking back several times to see if we needed anything and constantly refilling the water. There is a small electronic jukebox in the corner to play songs,(we didn’t partake) and about 10 tables on a hardwood floor in the bar room. Directly across is another dining area, for larger parties,(their happy hour is a good place to bring your office), and then the casino area. I’ve been to the happy hour(M-F from 4 – 7)previously and they also have a great value, small plates are $ 5(Tacos, Nachos, chicken wings, sliders, potato skins, and I believe that their beers are $ 3 at that time also. I once took my entire office there and had a good time for under $ 100!

I’ve always drove by Limelight but never thought to ever go in. I met some friends there for brunch one Sunday and i became a fan. Their brunch menu had lots of options which was nice because i can be very picky sometimes. Bottomless mimosas till 2pm is always a huge plus. We sat on the patio and it was so nice! There was no one back there so we basically had it to ourselves. Not too sunny which was perfect. There were grapes growing back there. We picked them and tried them. They were delicious. The waiter told us they use the grapes in some of their dishes which i thought was awesome. I got Eggs Benedict with potatoes. It was some of the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. I will definitely go back !

This place has some great appetizers. I came here after an ultimate frisbee practice and the NBA finals were still going on so of course it was crowded but we lucked out and grabbed a table. We ordered some appetizers to share and they were delicious. I especially love the wings at this place, honestly the best wings I’ve had from any restaurant. The nachos were also pretty good and a big portion perfect for sharing. I would come back here just to eat more wings no joke. The service was good and the waitress was attentive. Apparently they have hot mozzarella sticks that I will have to try.

My brunch visit here started out promising — the restaurant is designed nicely and my Bloody Mary, while weak, was nice and spicy. But it was all downhill from there. The service was inattentive(empty bloody glasses sat forever with no offer of a refill) and the huevos rancheros were almost inedible. My over easy eggs were rock solid and there were giant bay leaves throughout what I hope to god wasn’t supposed to be salsa. My fiancées medium-rare burger was also burned to a crisp. Insult to injury after the(rude) waiter dropped off the check, I said«thanks!» And he just blew past me. This place sucks.

Friends and I were in the mood for brunch. We also had in mind that we wanted a place that served bottomless mimosas. We had a few options in mind, but we mutually agreed on going to Limelight. I’ve never been here before, so I had no idea it is also a cardroom. Upon entering the bar side, we were told to take a seat anywhere. We picked a table in the center of the bar area. The space is a bit small but adequate for a bar café. Our server, Andrea(I just had to ask for her name. she was so wonderful to us.), came to our table and greeted us all with a warm smile as she handed us the menu. She gave us a brief moment to look over the menu before asking what we’d like to drink. 3 out of 4 of us decided on the bottomless mimosa, ironically the birthday boy was the only one who didn’t want any alcoholic beverage! I guess we can’t blame him from the heavy drinking he had the night before. But Andrea was quite convincing and eventually got the birthday boy to take a birthday shot(without hands! Well. it didn’t work all that well, but it sure was fun watching him attempt it! LOL) For food, I decided on the lighter plate and got the veggie omelet with wheat toasts on the side. I also shared some of the birthday boy’s eggs benedict with medium rare steak. The steak came out more medium well. slight disappointment but it’s not the server’s fault. I really enjoyed my omelet, although I was shocked I only ate half before getting too full to eat more. The service here was the most memorable. Andrea told us that she’d pay keep an extra eye on us. We felt special, until she mentioned it’s because we were the only one with bottomless mimosas in the entire bar. haha kidding, we still felt thankful that she even let us know. :) After a couple cups in, I kept saying this is my last drink. but nope, Andrea kept coming by with a jug of mimosa and topping off our cup to the brim! She absolutely made sure we got our money’s worth. I would have love to give this place a five star, but since the steak(and one poached egg) was cooked longer than it expected, I have to deduct a single star. I’m so willing to give this place another visit and hope for the same service and even more hopes that our food matches the level of the service we received.

Yay! I heard that the Limelight went through a remodel and it was true! The nasty carpet is gone and has been replaced with laminate hardwood and the whole bar looks like it has been refreshed. I came with my work ladies for a late afternoon lunch. Our salads and burgers were all good. The server was sweet but a little awkward but then again one of the ladies is a little harsh with servers. I am so glad this bar is stepping things up a bit! I’ll be back for brunch soon!

I’m tempted not to review this place because I don’t want people to find out about how GREATITIS!!! … but sharing is caring so here goes. To start, I’ve been here on 3 occasions. All for Brunch, and with everyone from My Girls for a Lady Brunch, My Parents for Fathers Day Brunch, and with friends after the ColorRun! This place truly deserves ALL5STARS all 3TIMES I’ve been here. The service is amazing(Thanks Jeff!). I’ve been waited on by 5 different people and all of them were social, upbeat, liked where they worked, and put up with our banter, custom orders, sarcasm, and indecisiveness. I order something different every time(French Toast, Benedict was AMAZING, Spinach Omelet, etc.) I come but I ALWAYS get the BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS, they are cheap, heavy on the champagne(I think it mostly because they know that’s how I like them. If you asked for more juice they would gladly accommodate you and remember to not give you a heavy poor for the remainder of you meal — I know, AWESOMERIGHT?!) and they let me substitute OJ for Cranberry juice without even a moment of hesitation! Our waiter, Jeff, the last two times… and part of the 1st time… is hands down the reason we keep coming back. Good food, and bottomless mimosas are a win, but the true magic comes from good service. Keep up the good work LIMELIGHT! ** ALSO I want to note… they do have 3VERYNEW and RATHERBIGFLATSCREENS! AND A 4THBIGGER one at the end of the bar. ;D Restrooms were clean and had multiple stalls. You are eating Brunch in a Bar area so you have to feel comfortable with that idea… I love it… but that’s just me!

HECKYES! What an awesome time– with friends AND with the serving staff at Limelight Bar & Café! So here’s the story of how I came upon Limelight: my friends and I were in desperate need of bottomless mimosas, a bountiful(and greasy) breakfast and some good ol’ fashioned girl time. Limelight was able to provide all of the above, so we hopped in my friend’s little blue Mazda and made our way downtown! Limelight’s layout is interesting, for sure. They have their own private parking lot – both to the side and behind the bar – which is an absolute treasure downtown. You walk in to the bar area(complete with a long wooden full bar, pub tables, flat screens, etc. You then make your way into the«brunch area and card room.» Yupp. There’s a cardroom! Feel like a little Black Jack or what?! There’s also a great covered porch area to accommodate those who prefer to eat outside, as well as the smokers. My friends and I were BLESSED enough to have Fabien as our service. Why use the word blessed? Because this guy was fanTASTIC! We were only seated for about 2 minutes before he came up to get our drink orders. Remember what I said about looking for bottomless mimosas? Funny story.. . only one of the three of us ended up getting them! Upon Fabien’s recommendation, I tried(and ADORED) the Bloody Mary. My other friend had asked to replace the OJ with Cran. Most places will not do this. Fabien didn’t skip a BEAT – «Of course!» Next on the agenda was the ordering of our food. I desperately wanted some Eggs Benedict up in my mouth business, but I strongly dislike Canadian Bacon. I mention this to Fabien, and what does he suggest? «Well? Why don’t you try it over our Applewood Smoked Bacon instead?» I LITERALLY replied with a giddy«WHAT? OH-kay! Twist MY arm!» The food that came out was FAR beyond what I expected for a bar-brunch. I mean.. . these were some of the best Eggs Ben I’ve HAD. I also got a side of sausage that was the perfect texture – not mushy, not too crunchy; and I don’t typically like sausage. I mean it.. . the food was GREAT. To the Chef of Limelight on Sundays: KU.. . DOS! Each of the servers we had the pleasure of interacting with were a riot. Fabien and the others had terrific banter between eachother, and with us as well. I will absolutely return. I’m craving that Bloody Mary and Eggs Ben already!
