Super sad to see this place go. Was a good local area bar, a lot of individuals just walked to it from the apartments close by. Was not very loud and they closed at 11pm, so I can’t imagine it caused much trouble to the neighborhood surrounding, also it has a corner location. Good people worked here, really sad to see the closed. RIP Morgan’s bar and grill.

This is a must try! Great staff, amazing food, and the regulars seem to be good fun as well. We had the the ribs and the chicken and were thoroughly pleased with our meals. The bartender/owner, Carrie, is great. She knows how to pour a drink and was a lot of fun. Jennylynn was our server and was very attentive and funny. We will be back. There are so many more things on the menu to try. Thanks Unilocalers for letting us know about this place!

I have gone here a couple of times. It’s a good atmosphere if you want to catch a game or hang out with friends. They have a pool table, darts, and a fee arcade games. It’s nice to be able to do something while you hang out with friends besides just sit and drink. I haven’t had much of their food, but their chicken strip with the wing sauce is delicious. It would be nice if they still had food items on their happy hour menu – that’s the only thing holding back from 5 stars.

The food was delish! I had a pulled pork sandwich with garlic fries. I would have liked a little more garlic on the fries. The BBQ sauce was great, a little bite to it, and the coleslaw on the sandwich was creamy and perfect. I’m not a big fan of coleslaw either. The food was totally satisfying. It is definitely a bar with the embiance of a bar. The waitress was really nice, however, my boyfriend ordered onion rings and they gave him fries. When she asked if he would like the onion rings she made a stink face like she was trying to make him feel like it’s too much work for them to correct his order and he should just settle for their mistake. Instead, she should have gave him the option without making him feel guilty and like it was no trouble at all. I think we will go back because the food hit the spot… but fingers crossed they get our order correct next time.

If you’re looking for table service, read the signs, you have to go to the bar most of the time to get served, but if you do, you won’t be disappointed. Delish food, the drinks are … well let’s just say you get your money’s worth. This is my favorite go to for pool and dinner. They closer ay 11 every night, which keeps you out of trouble. This is the best«cheers» bar around.

Just ate a delicious hamburger here and it was delicious. The fries are salty, but yummy, if you are worried about that I would get them unsalted. Silly/ginger was a doll. I will be going back there for sure. Clean place, good food, good music, good people.

I like this place. It’s like a secret pub that I stumbled onto. What’s more — they have Pliny the Elder. I’m like WTF? That’s totally unexpected. Very pleased. Two pool tables. Two dart boards. Five screens. ATM machine. Juke. Two video games(«silver strike» [bowling] and«multicade» [pacman, mrs pacman, etc]). And did I mention Pliny?

Stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant on a recent trip through Sacramento. This is definitely a dive bar and at first look thought it might not be the place to eat with our kids. It has more of a bar vibe than of a restaurant. Glad we gave it a chance! The food was great and the staff were so friendly. Our group ordered the turkey club, tri-tip dip sandwich and hamburgers. Everyone in the group was very happy with their food. The meat smoked in-house was delicious and their fries were amazing!!! The fare was simple, but done top notch! Wish I had a walkable restaurant like this in my neighborhood.

Really great price on Well Drinks during Happy Hour(3−6pm), and decent pub food. This is a solid joint.

I met up with friends here and usually my opinion is not far off from the averaged Unilocal review. Unfortunately, the group’s expectation and the reviews were far off mark. I had to apologize to them since it was my choice for meeting there. The atmosphere was ho-hum but that was the only good thing I could find. The chairs were wobbly and the chairs with cushion had cuts through them. The service was understaffed and we had to go to the bartender since there were no staff walking around for a good 25 minutes. As for the food, it was the worst I’ve had in at least a year. The salad and sandwich was sickening and bland. I’m surprised I didn’t get sick. Maybe the food tasted old and unappealing because we weren’t intoxicated. Wrong! We’ve been to other bars that had tastier food. No one in my group will be going back. Go to Costco or McDonalds and save yourself money; at least there, you’ll be able to finish your food and marginally satisfy your hunger.

Stopped by here for lunch to grab a quick bite. This is definition dive bar, but don’t let that deter you. Inventive menu items with the gastropub feel should attract those with a healthy appetite. Come hungry because the portions are massive. If you’re looking for a quick bite and maybe a nice beer(which they have a solid varietal on tap and bottled), this is the place to be. I had the Reuben sandwich with fries on the side. Not too salty with a good amount of that pastrami goodness you’d love. Grease level was kept to a minimum which is usually a fear when eating at dive bars. Also had the humongous jalapeño poppers. Massive in size and bacon, this is a definite split plate dish.

I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume my experience is not typical of them. The only good thing I have to say is the ranch is delicious. But of the three dishes we got, we could stomach none of it. Particularly my salad had a terrible almost chemical taste that prevented me from even swallowing it. The staff was very friendly, however.

Pac-12 fan? looking for more screens than there are claps in the 8-clap? More pool tables than a Trojan frat house? A better veggie burger than even downtown Berkeley can rustle up? Boom. Go to Morgans. The burgers and ribs are insane. Get the Fries with Blue Cheese and Franks Red Hot. And yes, the veggie burger(I can’t believe I’m saying this) is actually good(of course, we like to add bacon) #denial. Great pool table, tons of parking, and the veteran staff/management/owners are hilarious. Literally on the«right» side of the tracks(but easy to spot, even without Waze or Google-nav). Just look for the railroad crossing.

This place is pretty great. Yeah you do have to order everything at the bar and when it’s packed it can be weird but worth it. Ordered some wings and my girlfriend got the California burger. Both were yummy. Crowd was a mix of old but mostly young people. There is also a pool table. Nice place to catch a football game. Will be coming back here again

I really like this place! It’s much more clean and friendly inside than you sometimes encounter for a local kind of dive bar and grill. There is always a small gathering of locals and others who have wandered in and discovered this neighborhood hidden gem. The chicken club is smokey and delicious, as well as the French dip my gf always scarfs. The red and white fries are a must!

We are clearly suckers for dive bars! And Morgan’s fits into that category. Hubby and I have been to Morgan’s a few times, and after our last visit we both wondered. .. Why don’t we go here more often? And all we can come up with is that we are always trying new places and new things but sometimes we need to just stick to what we know and love. Morgan’s sits on the corner of 33rd and S st. Easy parking and can’t miss the location. There is a pool table, dart boards and multiple TVs to entertain folks. Morgan’s menu is full of items such as burgers, fries multiple ways, bacon wrapped jalapeños, steak, BBQ on some days and a number of other bar friendly but also fancier bar treats. Overall Morgan’s is kicking out some upscale bar eats! And I agree with other Unilocalers, those dang jalapeños are to die for!!! But upscale Morgan’s s not. You have to order food and drinks at the bar, no waitress to wait on you and any refills needed also occurs at the bar. No complaint from us though, the bartender at Morgan’s has to be one of the hardest working bartenders in Sac. He works the bar and pays Everyone attention. We found out that Morgan’s is falling into to suite with the rest of Sacramento and serving up unlimited mimosas and Sunday brunch. Thought this past Sunday I was not in an egg meal mood, they kindly let us order off the lunch menu. The mimosa pour is not the normal 70/30, it’s more like 90/10, for those who don’t know that is 90% champagne and 10% OJ. Be careful though, you can get a nasty champagne headache! 4 Cheers to Morgan’s!

Let’s start with the good stuff: What everyone else has been saying is true. This is a very friendly, homey bar, with pool tables and televisions and extremely cheerful and comfortable staff. Our bartender shook hands with us and introduced herself when she found out that we are now settled in the neighborhood and might be visiting more often. The next good thing: Their sauces. The horseradish aioli, the house ranch, all good. Also everything here is homemade which is always a good thing nutrition wise. Lastly: the water. Our bartender asked if we wanted lemon in our water, and upon hearing our positive answer, she actually squeezed the lemon in the water a little too. Now why two stars: That’s because of the food. We had wings, bacon wrapped jalapenos, smoked jalapeño coleslaw, and the dip sandwich which is a tri-tip sandwich with jus.(the juices it cooked in plus some seasoning and water made into a thin sauce for dipping). The wings were really dry. the sauce was yummy, but the chicken itself fell short. The coleslaw tasted old. The jalapenos were filled with a bland cheese mix, and now we get to the sandwich. The worst bite of the night, the meat was overdone and dry, and the horseradish sauce while tasty on its own, did not really shine on this dish. The fried the sandwich came with were also too dark, and some tasted pretty burnt. The bread of the sandwich was nicely toasted, and that was the only liked about this sandwich. So will I come back here? Yes for just a beer or something if we have friends over, no for food.

I absolutely love this sports bar. It is small and tends to a crowd I am not entirely used to being around, but I like the ambiance overall. Do expect it to be quite packed during Sunday Football! I have been here quite a few times on lunch since I work down the street at the Med Center. I must say the appetizing bacon wrapped, cream cheese filled, jalapeño poppers are off the hook. They are dangerously delicious. The serving portions are huge that come with the sandwiches and I have never been let down since. Although, I am not a huge fan of turkey sandwiches(don’t judge me), their turkey club was so yummy! It was freaking huge, too! Definitely a plate you can share with another person. Also, the buffalo chicken wings and red, white, and blue fries are pretty good, too! The garlic fries could be more garlic-y, but not too shabby, nonetheless. The Mrs. Morgan is just a sweetheart and loves to introduce herself to newcomers and basically make you feel right at home. The service is really fast and the drinks are decent priced. They do have a $ 4 Jameson special along that you could never go wrong with along with a $ 4 Captain Morgan.
