I checked in early on Friday January 29 and my room was not ready but they offered me an alternative room. I did not like it and waited for the original room which was wonderful! Huge, 2 queen beds. loads of coffee(which I love). I am here for an event and the staff was helpful in showing me where everything was. Spacious room with large window. Heat that I can regulate. Love having free wi-fi, free breakfast, smoke-free residence and the price is way more reasonable. My only discomfort was being charged a $ 50 fee that will be refunded when I check out after the staff establishes that I did not smoke in the room. In all, I would choose Lexington again next time I need to stay in Sacramento.

I stayed at this hotel with my cousins(they are from SF need a place to stay with fair price) the night before, and we booked two rooms of total $ 158.01 for one night. when we approached to front desk for check-in, the front desk agents are so friendly. they tell us about the Breakfast hour and direction to our rooms after she handed us the room keys. and she also mentioned about that the hotel is under renovation, and all new rooms probably finished by summer(good to know, because my cousin will come for State Fair and get a nice new room). As we finished our check– in process, a gentle man asked if we need help with our belongings. Sure why not :) so he carried our bags to our room. What a great employee. And His name is Joseph. And we went to our room, it’s spacious but furniture is pretty old, later found out there’s only 2 bath towels on the rack, I called the front desk to get one more towel. I hanged up the phone like 3 minutes someone is knocking on my door to send me stuff I need .That’s super speedy !!! Around 10:30pm, my next door is too loud, and I can’t sleep, so I called the front desk again, they sent a security guard up twice to have them stop their crazy music. Finally I can sleep:) on the morning We went to have our free breakfast at 9ish. Believe it or not, they have yogurt and bacon, my favorite:) The reason I only gave 4 star is because the hall way smells kinda weird to me.(I don’t know how to describe it, just WEIRD) And the soda vending machine is out of soda ! Restock please !! However, I had a pretty good stay.

I called this hotel on advance because I was going to book it and reviews showed the pool wasn’t functional. I called a few times. The woman told me that the hot tub should be ready by tomorrow and was going to double check and call me back(this is after I was on hold for several minutes). Nobody called me back so, believing it would only be one day without a hot tub, I drove here from Roseville. When I arrived at try he hotel, a man was familiar with my calls and claimed he was getting ready to call me. It had already been a few hours of me waiting for a call when I got there. He said that neither the pool or hot tub would be functional for another 2 weeks. They could have told me this when I called or they could have called me back, saving me a trip. But they chose not to. No apology, just an excuse that they were too busy to deal with me. Bad service lost me as a guest for a few nights now and also for the future.

If you just need a basic place to crash this is it. Spartan but clean rooms, a decent bite to eat in the morning, and lot’s of security patrols to keep the car break ins at a minimum. Who could ask for more when you are in the Cal Expo neighborhood.

Had a reservation through Travelocity for 2 nights. Show up and find out they do no accept cash? Apparently it’s a policy they fail to state anywhere on their website or 3rd party sites. My itinerary mentioned nothing of this either. They have a sign at the desk but it’s not clear. It talks about the $ 100 deposit only(credit/debit card only) I tried to ask to speak to a manager as I had cash for the room and he refused to speak to me. Eric Ruiz, the 12 year old running the front desk was quite rude and very uninformed. He stuttered and didn’t know an answer to any of my questions. When I informed him I’d make a complaint, he laughed. I asked him over and over why is this not stated anywhere on your site or with Travelocity he said it was, I assured him it was not as I had read everything. I asked him to please show me on the website and he refused. He just kept saying it’s a company policy. I had 3 kids, 1 was an infant, and they would not make an exception. Eric says they take cash for the deposit only but not for the cost of the room… which their sign clearly states the opposite. He tried to make me look stupid and actually had to read the notice 2x and He still did not understand what he had read. I called Travelocity and they confirm it’s not stated anywhere on their site. I called their number from their website and could only speak to reservations at the time and she was appalled by their behavior, apologized many times, and said to call back in the morning to complain to guest relations. I will contact them and update this. If nothing else learn to be friendlier Eric Ruiz. I asked you several times to speak to your manager and you outright refused. ****** Mr.Herman…I tried to speak to you that night and your employee Eric Ruiz refused to get you. I was not upset about the $ 100 deposit… I was putting the deposit on my card and paying cash for the 2 night stay… I know cash is excepted because I had a friend who is currently staying there tell me that is how he paid. However he did not deal with Eric Ruiz, he dealt with someone who was professional.******** I was told this is an independently owned hotel and had they wanted to accept cash they could have. Their no cash policy is not a corporate thing, like Eric Ruiz and the Manger stated, when they said it wasn’t their choice. At night they block off a couple exits/entrances and their is security roaming around… this place has been known to have shady characters… When you walk into the lobby you see the big screen of the all the cameras. These people are watching everything.

My wife and I stayed here on a festival weekend. We may have gotten one of the last rooms available. Maybe it wasn’t completely renovated. First the positive: The staff is super friendly. Although the building is older it must have had a recent face lift. The pool area is nice as it is tucked away outdoors and has a private feel to it. Most important to the wife and I is the room we were in was super quiet! Our suite was spacious and pleasant. The hotel is a *short* walking distance to many desirable eateries and there is a Walgreens just down the road(we forgot a ½ dozen things). The unfortunate part: The breakfast area, although clean, was seriously lacking. The bagels were stale the first day and rock hard the next. The toaster doesn’t even toast the food. Our shower filled with a small amount of water and had a layer of soap scum at the top. We found a bug in the bathroom electrical socket. The linens weren’t clean. Unfortunately, we found the stains too late. Lastly, the room was very barebones. Yes it has a kitchenette but it had zero amenities. No silverware, no plates, glasses etc. So like I said, maybe we got the last room and it wasn’t quite ready to rent. I wouldn’t say our stay was terrible because we really appreciate a quiet convenient and hotel but it wasn’t worth $ 110 per night. Quite honestly, if they just put more attention into the breakfast area and put some basics in the kitchen I would stay there again.
