The pupusas were huge! Nice stringy cheese. Flavorful curtido, great yuca, and light masa on the Salvadorean tamale

The chicken and cheese pupusa is awesome! The pupusas seem small yet they are quite filling surpringly. I have only had their chicken and cheese but there are quite a few options on the menu. This place is definitely worth a trip to the ‘burbs!

Another AMAZING place for great food. I had never tried El Salvadorian food and I definitely had never heard of a pupusa. Well let me tell you, you’re about to be HOOKED. A pupusa is a traditional Salvadoran dish made of a thick, handmade corn tortilla that is usually filled with meats, cheeses and/or beans. At La Flor, our favorite is the jalapeño and cheese. It’s simple, flavorful and yummy! They serve it with a pickled cabbage; that is surprisingly delicious! GIVETHISPLACE A TRY. You won’t be disappointed with the Pupusas or tamales!!!

I came in and ordered 3 tacos, which were great. Midway through my food I figured I’d a beer for my friend and I… When I checked my online bank statement a 50% gratuity had been added? I’m hoping this was all a mistake but until I hear back I will not come back to this place.

I’ve never been to this place before until a few days ago. The food was so good, I went back the next day! The pupusas were fresh and bigger than most places make too.

Went there for the first time and I will go back — many times! Had the jalapeño and cheese papusas and the pork and cheese — couldn’t eat them both but sure wanted to — for the grand total of $ 5 and some change! Give it a go, super good! Also, I am Celiac and the papusas were perfect for me and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything!

After the disaster of finding La Hacienda totally gone, we drove all the way to La Flor off of Fulton(I didn’t realize there was another one on Northgate). It’s hidden between all the car dealerships and is quite small, but everyone who works there were super friendly and the inside was clean. You order at the counter and there are several smaller menus that show the different pupusa choices. I got the chorizo and cheese as well as the bean and cheese. They had other choices like zuccini and cheese, and they even give you the choice of rice flour or corn pupusas. They have fried yucca, plantains, chicharones, and they also have regular Mexican dishes. The pupusas are made fresh, so you have to allow for 10 – 15 minutes. They are well worth the wait! They are quite large so don’t over order unless you plan to take them home! Really flavorful and great texture! The Fried Yucca is so yummy! I would totally replace potatoes with yucca and be happy forever, haha! End Result — I would come here again for sure!

I preface this by saying I am from a Salvadoran family that grew up here in Sacramento. We would regularly(still do) go to San Francisco for pupusas. However, La Flor has really great pupusas. I am taking 2 stars off mostly for the salsa, the chip policy(I know, not a Salvadoran thing but still, I don’t like paying of chips and salsa), not having Pilsner/Suprema/Regia and two times that I had rice flour pupusas that had weird tastes. I added one star back as I wrote this for the curtido and for having empanadas de frijol which are not usually available. Platanos and crema are good too.

Affordable, Flavorful, Lunch For under $ 8 I had a very filling lunch with leftovers, ordering two cheese papusas(zucchini and pork) and a medium horchata. Everything also came with a side of chips and salsa, as I was dining inside. I kinda wished I just ordered the pork and cheese as I enjoyed that the most but they definitely don’t skimp as these are some big papusas! I’ve got to say that they were a tad on the greasy side though and some of the chips were a bit stale. Overall not in the best area and not the best papusas I’ve ever had, but if you’re in the area and looking to dine on a budget, La Flor is worth a try.

Love this place. I have been here three times and every time I am full and happy. I have to admit lunch time is packed so go after 1pm. The restaurant is clean, the staff is polite and again the pupusases are wonderful. I have not tried any of the other dishes except the tamales and those are great.

I don’t see what y’all see. All I see is a greasy, oily, pupusa with crappy salsa and stale chips. It’s cheap though! The area’s ghetto, and people are kinda sketch. Not really what I’m into.

Good value for your money. We were really happy we found this place and my Wife and I both agreed it was pretty authentic and delicious. One less star for the counter lady’s bad attitude and being short with us though. We will be returning with my Step-Father who is a native Salvadorian to see if he thinks the pupusas are as good as we thought they were and we’ll update.

I’ve only had pupusas in LA and thought I would never find good tasting pupusas here in sacramento. My search was on looking at people’s reviews and thinking if it was worth the drive. So I took my chances and came here to this cozy shop. Not putting my hopes up I ordered the most common thing pupusas; Some of cheese and few of Revuelta. My theory was if the pupusas I usually get are delicious I’m definitely ordering more lol It only took maybe a basket of chips and salsa once my order got to me. I was expecting small pupusas or maybe burn or under cooked ones. PERFECTION! ok ok I can’t judge something unless I taste. So far so good… I cut the cheese Pupusa… so cheesy! More cheesy than a pizza I might say. I love cheese and definitely is over loaded with cheeese. Now I try the revuelta one… omg so delicious! ! Both pupusas are filled with the ingredients. I ordered 3 but I personally got full with just two! That’s how big and filling they are. I have no complaints on that maybe if I don’t need to ask for more salsa from the cashier or extra curtido which is no extra charge. I’m definitely content and will return back to try other types.

I’ve always heard of this place from my friends and they talked about how amazing the pupusas are. I went to this place of the other day and I ordered 1 chicken & cheese 1 revuelta(pork, beans, cheese). They WERE amazing! The place is small, but clean, nice decoration. The staff were super nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this!!!

How great are papusas? They are the coffee of the food-world. They are magical. They actually possess magic. Magic is baked inside them. My life is one long eternal hunt for papusa. Ok, slight hyperboyle, but still… Anyway, my eternal hunt for Papusas brought me to La Flor, where I tried a few delightful papusas. Sampled the cheese, chicken and bean & cheese. They were excellent and fresh and went down just right. Just based on that, this place is solid in my book. Having said that, the friend who came with me had a whole other experience. Her food(not papusas!) came out kind of cold and underwhelming and, for some reason, in a to-go box. But seriously, the papusas are fantastic. Worth going just for that.

Awesome portions and cozy atmosphere in its own little way. I’ve inly had good pupusas in Los Angeles and they were from a family owned Salvadorian friend’s acquaintances. Pupusas in general will just massacre your hunger and their slaw and special sauce is so good that I wish I could as them if I could get a «salad» of just the slaw and sauce! The slaw is still nice and crunchy so it seems like they prepare the slaw on the spot once you order your pupusas(yay for non soggy cabbage!) The pupusas themselves are a decent size and thickness so you know all that dough is going to plug up any black hole(it’s technically a gluten bomb) mm Their nachos aren’t to be underestimated, bc 3 girls couldn’t finish all that meat, cheese, and chips in one sitting.

Alright I need to give this place the stellar review it deserves. My unit at work eats here maybe every 3 months and La Flor Pupusas Grill has been absolutely great to us. We have 7 people in my unit and each of us orders about 2 pupusas per person, but of course when we order for ourselves we have to order for a bunch of other people in our branch too. Today we had an order of approximately 38 pupusas and not a SINGLEORDER was wrong. We had varying orders too: pork, chicken, jalapeño, chorizo, basically every pupusa on their menu, someone ordered it. It blows my mind that our orders never come out wrong. They even label our orders with our names so we know who gets what, they provide enough curtido according to how many pupusas were ordered for that person, tons of salsa, AND they can provide you silverware! FREAKINGAWESOMECUSTOMERSERVICE! If you have a large order, call it in so they can be prepared. That’s what we do. The pupusas are just divine. I always order the jalapeño and cheese and the pork and cheese pupusas and omg they are so delicious. They’re super rich and when you cut it with the sourness of the curtido… divine! I’m so glad my coworkers introduced me to these because if it weren’t for them, I would never have experienced the joy that can come from a pupusa. They even said that these are the best pupusas in Sacramento. Try this place you will NOT be disappointed!

So I was hella craving some green enchiladas… looked on Unilocal and found this spot less than a mile away from my house… ended up getting the two enchilada combo plate with rice & beans. One chicken and one carnitas!!! Ohhhh my freakin’ gosh… by far some of the best enchiladas I’ve ever had!!! The flavor of the sauce and the meats are phenomenal!!! I have been here a handful of times for lunch and I am always happy with my meal. The owner is this cute little women with a big personality. She is your best friend until you have a complaint, then the woman can really rip you a new one! The handmade chicken and cheese pupusa is the best, but the zucchini and cheese is a close second. Topped with the cabbage salad really makes this a filling meal! And at $ 2.45 a piece, it’s so affordable! The wait can be on the longer side, but each pupusa is hand made when you order it, so it’s totally worth it. Also, they only accept cash and ATMs are hard to come by in the area, so come prepared.
