Walked in and saw the special of the day was a steak sandwich and a side for $ 7.99. I was all over that and ordered 2 to go. Friendly guy at the counter. He gave me a postcard that provides me with a free drink every time I come in. Awesome! My order came up in no time. I was the only one in the restaurant at the time. I got home and devoured the sandwich and fries. Neither had a chance. The steak was cooked medium(although I ordered medium-well), and was tender and flavorful. My man(a steak and eggs kinda guy) loved it and was ready to go back the next day. Seems that they are only a lunch place, as they had abbreviated hours(but it was NYE), so it might be a little hard to make it for dinner. Other than that, I’m willing to try their burgers and other stuff ’cause they sure did do the steak sandwich justice!

My husband is a regular here and almost always gets the special which could be just about anything(spaghetti plate, french dip, cheesesteak, etc). He LOVES this place and after hearing so much about it I finally made an appearance. I ordered the CD Club and it was enormous. Piled high with meats and cheese. I could only finish half and took the rest with me. It was delicious! My husband’s french dip was also tasty as well, with chewy soft bread, tender meat and savory au jus sauce. They also make a mean chili(made from scratch every day) which I highly recommend trying. Overall CDs is a great place and the staff are exceptionally friendly. It’s a small joint mostly occupied by mechanics, but it is well worth a visit.

I don’t know what to order here. Tried the Philly cheese steak Id rather have Cheese-steak place(which is like the MC Donald’s of cheese steak) i also had the french dip ewh gristle so gross. I was so grossed out I couldnt even eat it. Again id rather have Arbys which sadly isn’t even real meant. and the chicken wings were fried to hard, so again id pass.

Was craving a cheesesteak and wow am i glad i came here! A freind and i had a BOGO from the coupon book so we splurged and each got a large cheesesteak. At $ 10 i would not normally pay that much for a sandwhich BUT i can see why it has that price tag. The sandwhich was HUGE and stuffed with meat! Could have used a bit more cheese, but that’s just me being picky, there was a good amount on there. I got the works with mushrooms, bells, & onions, definitly the best cheesesteak i’ve had in the Sac area, and i’ve had a lot. For the size of the large it will deffinitely be lunch tomorrow so i’d say it’s a good value. Or, just get the small which i’m guessing is plenty. Either way if you come here i highly recommend the regular cheesesteak w/whatever toppings you normally like. My freind got the NY style one which had pastrami on it with the steak, it was good but i personally just like the steak taste w/o pastrami in there. The staff was awesome, really nice and attentive, and was clean. Also they have a couple TVs, one had the Speed channel on which was nice :)

Louisiana Purchase burger was a 4+, i.e. a hot link on top of a flavorful and juicy cheeseburger. The French dip was just okay, barely a 2, as it had no flavor or was severely lacking salt.

Had their«hot» buffalo wings. OMG! best wings since leaving N.Y. .Yes, even better than Granites. They are cooked the way you like them(I prefer crispy wings) and TONS of sauce. Their fries are amazing also, not your plain frozen crinkle cut garbage, no… big cris cut fries.(ten piece wings and big order of fries was under $ 11.00) Establishment is clean, service was very friendly. can’t wait to try their famous sandwiches next! For a quick delicious and reasonabley priced dinner,(or late lunch & take the rest home) on these warm nights when you don’t want to cook. go here, but they close at 6:00 !!:( maybe they will have better summer hours coming up.

First came to CD’s about a year and a half ago, because I was fascinated by «doggery» on their sign… I love me some dogs! They serve a mean hot dog, decorated dozens of different ways. Their burgers, wings and fries are also pretty decent. One thing that throws me is their hours shuffling. It seemed like they were mainly a lunch place when we first went there. Later the manager was enthusiastically telling us about how they’re going to start doing dinner. A month later, they hung up a large sign outside advertising their dinner. I *loved* their big spaghetti plate dinner. Then just a short time later, they were dark by 6(I drive by every day after work so I noticed). And now I think they’re doing breakfast instead? Weird.

Real friendly service. The New York Grinder with steak, pastrami, grilled onions and swiss on a roll is phenomenal. Only 4.99 to boot.

I have tried every spot in town and these guys are by far the best in town for a cheesesteak. Go with a friend and split a large because they are too big for a normal human stomach. I order mine with jalapenos and extra cheese because they go a little light on the cheese normally.

My hubby turned my on to CD’s and they have a pretty darn good philly cheesesteak! The menu is very extensive and prices are really reasonable. I’ve had the spaghetti dinner and it’s very tasty. They make a lot of stuff from scratch — like the spaghetti sauce, beef stroganoff, and a bevy of specials. Apparently it’s very busy at lunch time due to all of the businesses in the area. Good spot for a quick, cheap dinner or lunch. You will not leave hungry. Mark, the owner and his staff are all really nice, too.

I was near CDs when I smelled steak on a grill. My buddy and I looked around and found CDs. We went in and both had a Large New York Grinder, frie, and soda. It was well priced and hella good. Great customer service too. We both we really stuffed and almost didnt return to work. Few days later I had to take my wife and duaghter there to try the food. My wife eat a large New York Grinder and coud not eat any more. Now almost every friday Me and the Family(Wife, daughter, father and cousin) go there and eat. It is worth the drive from North Laguna to Fulton and El Camino for good food, great portions, and good prices. (Family and I have been there a total of 3 time as of tonight) We recommend it to everyone and if you get a large expect left overs if you dont cram yourself. See ya’ll next Friday, Spud

Went there today looking for Granite’s and found CD’s I was informed they took over last March. I give a big plus for the young man who was taking my order(yes I am getting old a lot of people seem to be young these days!) he was patient and answered my questions. I got the Italian steak Philly and it was hot, fresh and juicy. Could have used more cheese and the New York Sauce which I figured was a good tomatoe sauce was spicy and lacked sweetness. I grew up in Philly and spent many a day(and night) in New York carousing bars and pizza places and eateries but I have never heard of «New York Sauce» and on a Philly Steak? I dunno but I have to say I enjoyed it and would try again with extra cheese. Also got the Italian Salami Sub which was good but no true Italian Hoagie on the menu, I miss having a good Italian Hoagie! The Large sandwich will take me 2 days to eat. It’s a good size sandwich! Grandson got a fruit punch dring from a plastic drum and a bag of chips and he was happy as all get out! He’s three and it’s a family friendly place. I will try again and bring my better half next time

While I was driving by one day, I noticed that this place replaced Back on the Block(which was owned by members of Sam’s family). First a little history, Sam is the guy who first brought Buffalo Chicken wings to Sacramento. He, along w/his sons, have opened & sold many joints: Times Square Deli, Sam’s Sub Shop, Granite’s, etc. So I noticed the new sign and advertisement and since I’m always in search of a really good burger(still can’t find one to replace Jasper’s) in the Arden area, I stopped in. The menu looks almost identical to the other places, but w/some additions, like a small dinner menu. They also have spaghetti all day. The day I was in, they had specials of: Chicken tacos, Stew and Salisbury Steak w/mashed potatoes. They’ve upgraded the place a little bit — new paint, colored blinds, some art work, but it’s still basically a small burger joint. Since I was in search of a burger, that’s what I ordered — just the regular Ground Sirloin w/Cheese. The burger was grilled and way overdone. It was very dry. The burger comes w/“house sauce” but I asked for mayo and mustard. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough Mayo on it to make up for the dry burger. The bun and veggies on it were good. The french fries were thick cut, which I like, but lacked flavor. The cost for the burger and fries was $ 8.00. Not worth it. I will give the place another try, but will order something else. While I was in line, I saw a guy w/a philly cheesesteak sandwich that looked good. And I may want to try a special. Service was okay and friendly.

Good fries, mediocre veggie burger. Staff was friendly and the prices were good. Husband’s burger was not seasoned at all, and I think overall he was less impressed than I was. The only reason we went there was it was 100 degrees and Flaming Grill doesn’t have anywhere to sit indoors. Given the choice between the two, there’s no contest.
