The go to spot in the Sacramento Airport for drinks in the A terminal. Depends on the bartender if it will be a good time. Drinks are good and they have a menu of mixed drinks as well. It seems that when I order my amaretto sour with a splash of Sprite they get the Scooby Doo look like huh? So this time I ordered from the drink menu. Had a few and they were ok. I was hungry so I had to order. Unfortunately I did not order well. Had the burger and it was a boxed special with a side of no meat. The bun was soft and grilled so it made the no meat burger palatable. The fries are standard variety thin and could not hold up. Too bad for me I was so hungry that I ate ¼ of it all. But hey when you are hungry and the game is on this spot will definitely do.

Not the best. Food was mediocre(greasy mac and cheese) and the service was just blah. Server was too busy trying to leave her shift(I get it). oh it was 3:36 pm on a Wednesday. I was paying for my food as soon as I stuck my fork in the food. I wouldn’t go again.

Great spot to sit and wait for your plane. The service was quick and friendly. Kyle was my bartender and took great care of me even though it was a busy morning and he was the only bartender working. Prices are as you would expect in an airport bar. Thanks Kyle!!!

Staff is great, and they have a great selection of drinks, must try for everyone. If you got kids they have a restaurant too.

Food was good — service was nothing to rave about. Bartender Kyle was more interested in women he could hit on. I had to ask for everything & others were greeted promptly if a good looking woman. He was even trying to have another woman connect him up with a friend.

It’s airport food, what do you expect? 9.99 for a 16oz of blue moon 8.99 for beer battered nuggets and fries. The portion was great the batter had a weird taste to it. 4 starts because the bartender Rogar(yes, spelt that way) is very outgoing and friendly. Services wins here.

Would not recommend any of the food at this place. Fly in and out of this airport frequently and have tried different foods on 5 different occasions. None have been worthwhile and the latest(steak sandwich with fries) is one of the worst. The fries are so bad they taste like cardboard and were brought out not even warm. Ridiculous to say the least. There are better choices to be had!(plus over 8 dollars for a beer… come on now)

Not for certain why this restaurant is only rated 3 stars. It serves good drinks and good food, especially for being inside of an airport. I ordered an Old Fashion and the Steak Sandwich. Both tasted very well. Yes, costs are high. But again this is an airport. Iron Horse is somewhat akin to Elway’s in Denver International. My service was good from both the hostess and the waiter. The steak was a good cut(no fat or gristel) and was not over done. The bun was just as good. No complaints. I will be back.

Let me start out by saying, I love Iron Horse on R &15th. That might be why I was so let down by the airport location. The beer brined wings at the Midtown/Downtown location are super tasty. The airport location, polar opposite. Sauce is bad. Wings aren’t juicy. The taste like bad Hooters wings. Mega disappointed. Saving grace — semi decent beer selection and the spectacular people watching.

Love this place. The 15th street location is a regular breakfast stop when I’m home. This location is my go to when I am on the road(or up in the air). It features much of the same menu — which is prepared fairly close to the way the dishes are done in midtown and the prices are only slightly higher for some plates. Tip: During the morning rush, sit inside. It’s self seating. I know the bar looks appealing but it can be a bit understaffed — taking up valuable pre-flight time. If you do sit at the bar, sit on the northwest side(The same side as United Airlines). That’s where the primary cash register seems to be located and where the bartenders seem to spend most of their time.

I had the green eggs and ham.(Pesto eggs with a huge slab of ham) They were delicious and too much for me to finish. Our bartender was Kyle and he made a fantastic Bloody Mary and provided some great conversation.

Food was satisfactory, chips were great. Service barely so-so. After waiting 5 mins to be told sit where we wanted, when the sign asked to wait to be seated. Really! We got our own menus and flatware and napkin. At the end of our meal I was given a machine, instructions and buttons to push, swipe my own credit card and it asked for a tip! What was I giving a tip for? Sheesh. I could have easily ordered it my self. Won’t be back and I will tell my traveling colleagues not to bother. Better off going to Fast food in the food court.

My cup is empty it’s just water. But my waitress is sitting eating a sandwich herself but didn’t say I’m going on break. Ha appeared irritated when she brought my sandwich out with tomatoes and I asked for no tomatoes. So now I’m eating my food with no drink… I understand it’s the airport but I still want customer service.

First off I’d like to say thank you for open at 6am. Michael your service was magical, I commend your bright eye early morning service. My only grip is that they don’t serve anything other than breakfast at 6am. But that’s my fault, what weirdo wants a fried chicken sandwich at 6am!!? Keep up the good work. The two egg breakfast was bomb. But seriously, best potatoes I’ve ever had.(And I eat a lot of potatoes.)

I ordered the Belgian waffle which was delicious. It was loaded with fresh fruits and had a nice crunch to the waffle but was soft enough to enjoy. The prices are a little steep but it was expected given that the location is inside an airport. I would have given it 4 stars but… I walked into the restroom to relieve my bladder before boarding my flight and I noticed one of the workers walking in with me. After washing my hands, I find the same worker walking out without washing his hands. This was quite disturbing and definitely made me question if I will be returning to dine here.

Bloody Mary’s and breakfast on my way out. Bloody Mary’s were pretty good, breakfast was delicious!!! The bacon… Drool… Prices are a bit steep($ 12 bloody Mary’s…), but it’s the airport, so that’s to be expected. Nice to see they have updated the A terminal a bit, and Iron Horse was a great addition.

This is a 5 star compared to other airport restaurants. It’s fairly expensive, though not that bad for airport prices, but honestly, it’s the best airport food I’ve had. First of all, the menu is amazing. I could not figure out what to order for like forever. Mac and cheese bar, pizza, burgers, epic breakfast items like pesto eggs and ham. Eventually, I ordered the rib eye sandwich, with house made chips, and a beer. I was thoroughly impressed. It had gruyère, my favorite cheese for sandwiches, and garlic butter. The bread was crisp on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside, from soaking up all the cheese and butter. The steak, while thin, was tender, easy to eat, and cooked well. The chips were crunchy, salty, and some of my favorite I’ve ever had. Not a big potato chip fan though, so my knowledge of good chips is limited. I had literally no complaints for my entire meal and I usually leave these places wanting more. I wish I could come back here and try the Mac and Cheese. Saw another table eating some and it looked sooooo good.

The Iron Horse Tavern at the Sacramento Airport was a nice option for beer and higher-end bar food. First off, the server was very nice(and handsome!); he was prompt, polite, introduced himself and made himself available to everyone. I started just with drinks. I would recommend only get beer or cocktails, as the wine selection is cheaper wine that I’ve seen at Trader Joe’s and there is a wine bar just a few steps away. The beer selection was decent and you had the option of two sizes. After a few drinks, I decided to get food. There was a lot of delicious sounding items, but I’m a mac and cheese girl and they had several types of mac to choose from including something like a «tasting-size» of three macs. I bought the jalapeño mac, which came out in a cute small skillet and was ooey, gooey, warm and delicious with the jalapeños offering a nice crunch. My only critique is that it could have used more salt. Overall, good option at the airport.

I had an excellent dinner here while waiting in Terminal A. I had the trio of Mac N’ cheese and an amber beer. Service was friendly, prices were about as expected for the airport. My tab was about $ 20. The atmosphere is very open and there is plenty of seating. The look is rather«modern pub». The menu had plenty of tempting gourmet fare. The draft list and cocktail selection was excellent. I only wish they had a small salad option. The mac n cheese was very rich, too much to call for an additional entrée sized salad as offered on the menu, but some sort of veg would have been nice.

Well, alright! It’s a bit expensive($ 8 for a micro pint) but pretty nice tasty food! better than standard airport fare – they have 7 different kinds of mac n cheese for pete’s sake. And very nice servers – my server was one of the kindest people presently on this here earth – plus a few TVs with sports and stuff. Seating is either around a neato little bar that’s shaped like a train car, or in a restaurant area… the restaurant seating is a bit close to one wall, so the server may have to squeeze behind you to get by or to drop off your order or bill. My order of lobster mac n cheese arrived piping hot soon after I ordered; they obviously understand that their customers are travelers on tight schedules. All in all, pretty good airport grub and good dranks.
