Very disappointed! Food was blah, tasteless! I felt my dinner was made ahead of time & heated in the microwave. The prime rib had raw garlic not cooked in the roast. There was zero seasoning on ANYTHING! I asked the server if the chef tasted his food & I was told the regular chef wasn’t there. ??? Is that a value excuse? Even on Chopped & Jr Chopped & all chefs tell you to taste your food! NEVER going back!

This place is the Denny’s of steak houses. The food was horribly mediocre… Especially considering the price you pay for it. We had one appetizer and two entrees(no drinks!) and the bill came to $ 60. The only reason we stayed past the first bite of food was because we had a gift card. There is no way I would ever pay $ 60 for the food we were given. My pasta dish had water at the bottom because they didn’t even strain the noodles properly. Do yourself a favor and drive ten blocks to eat downtown for the same price and MUCH better food.

Food and service are great. Second time here and both visits have been superb. Today I had the salmon scrambler w/a biscuit & gravy. Food was awesome. My lady stuck to the traditional 2 eggs with sausage. Didn’t hear any complaints from my lady. The place is popular but both times there wasn’t a wait. I should have snapped a pic of my food but I ate it. :-(

First time here for dinner and Iron Grill was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is quite spacious, the food was impressive, and the service was superb! Called to see if a reservation was required and Chris was very personable. The layout of the eatery flowed nicely. A huge bar area and a bigger dining room. Server Jessica was extremely nice and attentive. She even loaned me an iPhone charger after my phone ended up dying. Overall, Iron Grill is a spot not to overlook. I will definitely try it again; especially their truffle Mac-n-cheese.

After coming to every Sacramento’s brunch restaurants(i.e. The Waffle Experience, Tower Café, Bacon & Butter etc.), I was heading to this local restaurant located at Broadway near Target and Asian Food Center called, «Iron Grill.» Iron Grill brings the customers to taste their sensational meals from brunch, lunch, dinner, and of course, happy hour too! As I entered, the atmosphere is quite relaxing, calming and elegant as I welcomed. The concept is much like visiting to a Japanese restaurant, but with more contemporary American feel of that place mixing vintage to night life all in one. The employees from servers to chefs especially bartenders are doing an amazing job for making the customers like me a sensational service. No cons at all. Now onto the food! Me and my dad ordered the California Scrambled(me) & the Smoked Salmon Scrambled(dad) with a side of fruits(me) and sauté potatoes(dad) plus wheat toasts & their signature dessert: the Beignets which it’s a European beagle with powered sugar on top. As we ate, their food was simply delicious! My California Scrambled tasted perfection as I can feel the bacon and shredded Swiss cheese perfectly. My dad’s order of Smoked Salmon Scrambled tasted remarkably good too which he did feel the flavors of the salmon. Both of my entrees cooked perfection without any errors behind! The fruit cup and the potatoes both tasted not bad and eatable especially the toasts and the Beignets. The Beignets was awesome! Sweet and irresistibly delicious! What a great brunch meal for us for spending the Memorial Day weekend Saturday morning. Parking at Iron Grill can be challenging to park. You can park at their smaller parking lot nor the surface street parking if it’s available. Otherwise, you can also ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Iron Grill is the most incredible local restaurant that I’ve ever experienced and tasted it the most after I brought a Groupon offer weeks ago! I haven’t tried their dinner menus, so I’ll be back next time to try it out. A well, worthy visit for all ages! My rating: 4 solid stars.

We had a party of 15 booked in advance for my daughters graduation. Unfortunately this was a bad choice. The food was bland and small portions. We ordered the beignet to try and all I could taste was the oil it was fried in. The service was ok. The worst part was when the expo brought our food out he was down right rude to my elderly mother when she asked a question and slammed plates down to the point that we were all looking at each other like.WOW. We will not be coming back.

This place is so underrated and undiscovered by most. I love taking new friends here and they always full of positives«wow– it’s gorgeous in here!» «Their menu looks great!» …always followed by «I never knew it was here.» The food is always incredible, the choices are varied and someone always finds something they are craving. Lately(last 4 months or so) the bartending has been humorous — the position filled by a cute untrained nice guy.(He asked me how to make a grapefruit juice & vodka and then poured Bombay) — we braved thru. The last visit(1 month ago) a new tall make bartender that was pushing«his creation drinks» talking too fast– jaw jacking– hitting on fellow employees rather than tending bar– kinda creepy. IRON please take this position seriously. A good bartender can really draw a crowd. If you are interested– please contact me– I can recommend a handful of knowledgable, charismatic, local bartenders looking for extra work! I have never(at least 30 visits in the past few years) been disappointed by the food. Try whatever peaks your interest.

Excellent breakfast and a great alternative when the lines are long at Tower Café. Great atmosphere and comfortable booths. Excellent prices. Have had dinner there are several times and tried it again recently. The waiter said the steaks were broiled which it probably explains why it had very little color or flavor. We added salt, pepper and A1 sauce to all 3 of our steaks. Good quality meat but bland. That and the ordinary sides. of twice stuffed potato and«vegetable hash» made it a meal my grandparents would have liked but we really didn’t enjoy. Come on iron steaks, get some cast iron heated up hot and grill those steaks correctly.

Low key without all the hustle and bustle. Yet this place is always a favorite of mine. Great for drinks and food. The steaks here are delicious especially if you pair it with a lobster tail. The jambalaya is a must try.

Let me just start by saying I’m a breakfast fanatic… so, I’m not easily impressed. But this is by far one of my favorite brunch spots in the Sacramento area. I thought long and hard about writing this review as I feel this is one of the Broadway area’s best — kept secrets. And, I like not having to wait forever like you do at Tower Café. Not to mention, I feel that the selection and quality of the menu at Iron is much better than Tower. The menu is not extensive, but they have some delicious, unique choices. The California Scramble is my go — to. I usually get it with the beignets. Top it off with $ 10 bottomless mimosas and you can’t go wrong! The staff are warm, inviting, and make you feel like family. My only complaint would be that it is a tad bit dark inside, but you can always opt for the patio if that bothers you. I’ve turned on many friends and family to Iron, and everyone loves it. I highly recommend this spot for a small gathering, or even a special event(they do take reservations). I guarantee it’ll be a hit with your guests :-).

This is currently one of my favorite restaurants. Everything about it is awesome. The vibe, the fooooood, the service. The fooooood. I’ve tried many different things here. Their steaks are mouthwatering. Their burgers are succulent. Their brunch is divine. If you’re sick of the hour wait at bacon and butter or tower café, give iron grill a try! The wait is usually pretty short and the food is great. My favorite is the BlackBerry cream cheese stuffed French toast. And the waiters and waitresses have always been pleasant, helpful and attentive. I give iron grill two big thumbs up! Give it a try! It’s fantastic.

To celebrate our friends birthday we all decided to meet up at Iron Grill for bunch. I’ve driven by this place numerous times because it’s near Target… djm lol We winded up parking on the side street that the business sits on. Parking is interesting in that little corner to say the least. Once in we were greeted by the hostess but we say our friends already in a booth and joined them. As soon as we sat down the waiter came over to greet us and asked us for our drink order. He was so nice and attentive. We got the bottomless mimosas(SCORE) and others got coffee. They have a great brunch menu. My boo got the chicken and waffles and I got the meat lovers omelette. My omelette was jammed packed with ham, chorizo, and of course bacon. It was delicious. I got fruit and a beignet!!! DELICIOUSNESS I tried my boo’s chicken and waffles and they were omg delicious. The chicken breast was seasoned perfect and came with a tasty gravy. The waffle was crisp and soft on the inside. It was an awesome meal and our waiter made sure that our glasses stayed full throughout the entire meal. The waiter brought our friends an ice cream Sunday with a candle on it and spoons for all of us. Great ending to ab awesome meal! We gave him an hefty well deserved tip. This will be a regular brunch spot for us.

We had a very good experience here! Service is very fast and attentive. Got a LivingSocial deal for brunch and it was a great deal! We ordered 2 entrees off the brunch menu. The egg benedict came with 2 eggs on muffins and tasted ok. The veggie omelette was alot better and I enjoyed that very much, and it also comes with a side of toast or beignets. Of course we opted for the 1 beignets and that was soooo good. The service was wonderful, drinks refilled constantly, coffees refilled without charging extra. Our waitress was very nice. Bathrooms are clean, parking is super easy. Overall a good experience.

First of all, and my main complaint, the food and service was incredibly slow. It took some time for us to have a waitress ask for our order, then once the order was put in, longest wait ever. It wasn’t just the wait either, but the fact that the table next to us, who were seated and had their orders taken much after we’d already ordered, actually received their food first… well that’s just rude. Don’t know if something happened in the kitchen or what, but there was no apology, no explanation, nothing. I ordered a breakfast burger, and it was decent, but my mood and experience was just spoiled by that crazy wait.

Crab Benedict Craving Satisfied! SITREP We had just finished hitting the California Automobile Museum for the Tube *Pop-Up* Festival and we were looking for something yummy nearby. As we were cruising down Broadway, our memories fired up as we realized we were in hood for Iron Grill! It was easy to find parking in a free lot across the street and it was nice to see how festive the outside décor and patio has gotten. THESETUP I don’t get in the Land Park Hood side of Sacramento all that often, but when I do, it’s usually for something elegant and fun(like Tower Theatre, or Tower Café). On prior occasions, the Iron Grill has always proved to be a very nice brunching spot when joining a group of friends or Unilocal buddies on a special outing. So since Iron Grill has always delivered delicious food in the past, it seemed like a great time to enjoy it again. The interior of the restaurant continues to get spruced up and always friendly with plenty of room for patrons in their dining environment. LEMENU Iron Grill has a delicious brunch menu, but I always seem to get cravings for items that are not on the menu. On this occasion, I spotted the Salmon Benedict. But I also spotted the lump Crab Cakes. My mind was whirling: why couldn’t I work out a combination? Upon talking with our very helpful server, she said she would arrange it for me! So I got the Crab Benedict that I was suddenly craving. It came with a side of Country potatoes that were delicious as well. My companion got the Apple Sausage Scramble which she really enjoyed & raved about. As a treat, we also each got an order of Beignets and these were absolutely scrumptious as a tasty dessert with powdered sugar, NOLA-style! THELOWDOWN A great brunch option on the Broadway drag of Sacramento.

Service that was quite attentive, if many-handed, brought our 2-star meal up a notch. My sister’s family, with two young ones in heel, headed here for an early Sunday dinner and the place had a handful of customers. Our server was there right as we were getting ready at the front and we sat outside in the late summer day. Seats could have used more cushioning. We started with an artichoke that had pesto over it, but it was only so so due to too much char. On the other hand, the tempura green beans were excellent and crispy. The bigness were outstanding as always and you should always order them here. My sister felt her surf and turf wasn’t well seasoned, having to add a ton of salt to her dish. Brother-in-law liked his jumbalaya, a different choice for him, but felt they were stingy with the sausage and put in a bit too much spice. For the kids, the pulled pork was too sweet. My chicken burger thing was OK with crispy pancetta, but the fries were all very undercooked and soggy. Kind of high prices for the quality, location and limited customer base. Hit or miss dishes, with some more memorable than others, with great service make Iron Grill an option, but not my first.

Beignet addict visiting Iron Grill for brunch, smart decision that’s we not ordering beignet by it self, because nobody going to eat it, had better one, this one kinda heavy and not fluffy and if you check in via Unilocal, you got 50% of beignet. When you get in from the door, there was today special written on the board. I had prime rib scramble today special, prime rib kinda taste like breakfast steaks, coming with the choice of fruits or hash browns or potatoes with beignet or English muffin or toast. Hubby had garlic chicken with waffle coming with 2 eggs of your style, garlic chicken really garlicky and good with gravy. Waffle was fluffy. Daughter order kids meal pancakes and getting regular order instead of kids meal, so a lot of left over. Are we going come back? Not sure, depend on the mood I guess.

Soooo… There were things I enjoyed & things I didn’t at this restaurant. Liked: The food! We ordered the shrimp cocktail to start & enjoyed the large meaty prawns that were placed in front of us! For our entrees I had the two lobster tails with mashed potatoes & vegetable hash & my husband had the filet mignon with wild mushrooms & a baked potato. My lobsters we’re cooked perfectly & were a good size. The mashed potatoes were creamy & rich, but the parsnips in the vegetable hash tasted like they were coated in celery salt(I should have ordered the wild mushrooms… They were delicious). My husband’s filet mignon was a bit over cooked, but he said everything was still really good. Dislikes: We were seated next to a large & loud party of eight. They were sooo loud we couldn’t hear each other talk… ATALL. There were several booths open(which eventually were filled w/other parties of two), but for whatever reason, we were sat at a small table in the back. Our waitress was very nice, but our interactions were brief & sporadic. Kind of gave us a cold representation of the restaurant & its staff(except for the hostess, she was very sweet). We definitely see the potential in the restaurant becoming a favorite of ours & will come back to try other items on the menu & see if our experience changes.

Delicious drinks for happy hour! I recommend the Kurant Cosmo and Sangria! The portions are happy hour price but not happy hour size. We had the shrimp cocktail, beignets, and grilled artichoke. All were to die for! My friend had the carnitas tacos and wanted another order! Will definitely be back!

Living social deal is what had me coming here to try it out. I always drove past it but never had the urge to try it. I wLked in and was immediately greeted by a young gentlemen and seated in a booth. There is a full bar right when you walk in, no beers on tap but lots of wine selections of course. Menu looked delicous. I ordered the prime rib, friday and Saturday special. It came exactly as I ordered it, medium rare. PERFECT! I did not care for my mashed potatoes, the gravy was cold and very thick gelatin like. Seasonal vegetable were sweet but not soft enough. My boyfriend ordered the surf and turf with the 4 oz filet and 6 oz lobster tail. His mash did not have gravy and vegetables were the same. Steak was served how it was ordered as well, medium rare. Lobster tail. was cooked perfect, had the perfect crunch to the bite of the tail and fresh tasting. We ordered a side of the mac n cheese, it wasn’t that great. It had tomatoe dices and too much bread crumbs. $ 6.

I’ve been down this street a hundred times but I’ve never noticed Iron Grill. If you stop by and take the time to check it out, it’s actually a really quaint little brunch spot. They have patio seating outside, which we would’ve chosen if we weren’t suffering so badly from allergies, but there’s plenty of indoor seating as well. We went at 11:30 on a Saturday for brunch, and I’m always worried about brunch places being crowded on the weekends so luckily I was able to make reservations the night before through Unilocal/OpenTable around 1am! Everything on the menu sounded delicious. But of course, I was stuck in the same usual brunch dilemma: sweet or savory? So I decided to just order both… even though our waitress laughed and made comments about how much I was ordering. Don’t judge me. We started off with a ½ dozen beignets, which we only ate half of. I didn’t know that there’s an option to get a beignet as your«bread» item with your meal(instead of english muffin, toast, bagel, etc). If I knew that, I would’ve just gotten the beignet that comes with the meal… But oh well. More snacks for us at home. For my meal, I ordered the lump crab cake & banana cream waffle. I’m normally eh about crab cakes because most of the ones that I’ve had are dry and bland. But this one on the menu stated it comes topped with hollandaise. and who doesn’t love hollandaise. AND two eggs! It was a very mushy and runny dish so it wasn’t aesthetically appealing but it was quite delicious, especially paired with the special hot sauce provided on the table(not your usual Tapatio or Tabasco). The banana cream waffle was good but I could’ve survived without it. I’d love to come back and try their other waffle options… strawberry cheesecake, cookies and cream, and apple cobbler. Yum! Even their Elvis French toast sounded great. You know a place is amazing when you want to go back the next day. If I didn’t have work at 9am tomorrow, I definitely would. So maybe we’ll save it for Monday…
