There are very few places that are so good that you keep raving about it to your friends! I come to Harry’s specifically for their delcious pancakes! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Amazing! I always tell myself I’m going to try more of their menu but I can never not get these pancakes and by the time I’m done with them I’m pretty full. My boyfriend loves it here too. He loves getting the oxtail stew but I believe that’s only offered on certain days. When it’s not offered he’s satisfied with just about anything else. Their Chinese food is also good. It’s a pretty small place so I wouldn’t recommend large groups. Maybe a nice spot for a group of 2 – 4 during brunch hours. Definitely stop here for some Asian comfort food! A couple of my friends who I recommended this place to have already been back 3 or 4 times!

I’ve been dying to try this place and finally had a chance today. I took my son out for lunch and we landed here, Harry’s Café. It’s a small restaurant and of course my fav, a «hole in the wall.» Funny thing is I’ve driven by this place a million times and never knew such a gem existed. We walked in and was greeted by an older gentleman(it might have been Harry, lol). We sat down and he gave us menus for lunch. Then he comes back and asked us if we wanted the breakfast menu. We said yes, and low and behold, there it was LOCOMOCO. Did I mention I’m an expert when it comes to Loco Moco? We shut the menu cuz that’s all we needed to see. We both ordered the same thing, but my son wanted fried rice with it… No worries, a little deviation won’t hurt. On a bed of rice was this thick portion of ground steak Patty, dowsed in brown gravy and smothered with two fried eggs. It was heaven. I took my first bite and I can tell you now, there was a party in my mouth. The next thing you know my plate was empty. I wanted more but didn’t want to blow the button off my shorts. Overall, I’m impressed and highly recommend this place. Other food dishes looked good as well.

This place is the bomb everytime. Always consistent and curteous. I don’t even like pancakes, but Harry’s has hands down the best pancakes I have ever had. Love this place!

Harry’s Café is the BEST place I have ever found near Davis(I attend UC Davis). Although it is a bit of a drive, it is absolutely worth it. I was craving pancakes and after a quick Unilocal search ;) I found this place!!! The pancakes are worth every mile I drove to get here. My boyfriend prefers Asian breakfast though, and luckily he was able to get some too! Whenever I feel like having something other than pancakes, I order their short rib stew. Literally way better than my moms(sorry mama!). I would HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone! Service is fast, although the servers can be cold sometimes, but its worth enduring an unsmiling server for good food. It does get a little crowded on the weekends, but that is expected considering how good this place is. Reasonably priced too!

Wow, this is my comfort food for the short ribs with rice weekend special only, short ribs are tender and you definitely can taste Chinese five spice seasoning on it, will comeback for more for sure. They burned the top bun of my daughter cheese burger and burger meat taste like Philly cheese steak according daughter. Needed more meat for Harry chow main that’s only had a couple chicken pieces. Will comeback and try their weekday special oxtail.

I decided to try out this place after reading an article about it a few months ago. It’s a small café but they have seating outside. We went after lunch hour so they were not busy and seated us right away. I had the short rib stew with rice and it was delicious. Mix the rice in with the sauce and it’s so good. They only serve this dish on the weekend. They have a big menu of American breakfast, Asian breakfast(going again to try the loco moco) Vietnamese and Chinese. They have such a big variety of items then will have to go back to try. This is a great place to go with you’re looking for a variety of food and it’s not too expensive.

I just had breakfast for the second time at Harry’s… Asian breakfast… Who knew??? I certainly didn’t! Now I can’t think of a better way to have breakfast! The first time I had breakfast I ordered the Asian fried chicken, with two eggs and Fried Rice… It was soooooo good! The batter makes me happy! Now fried rice for breakfast, lets discuss this… Why have I never thought of this idea? I feel as though a whole new world has opened up to me, there is a certain freedom in changing the rules when it comes to breakfast! Yesterday morning’s breakfast was chicken fried steak, 2 eggs, and fried rice… Plus I went crazy and ordered 2 pancakes! My Sterling ordered the waffle, 2 eggs, and hashbrowns. First let me just say the steak made me so happy, lucky for Sterling, I love her so she got a bite, albeit a very small bite(barely a taste). Hey I love food, if it is good food, I rarely share, but you better!(Hey, stop judging me!) The gravy on top was so delicous, I really think that if they filled a donut with it and topped it with maple glaze and bacon, it would be the new rage!(Just saying Harry, think about it!!) Next time I think I will order extra gravy so I can put it on my fried rice!!! So freaking delicious!!! The pancakes… I never order pancakes at a restaurant, why? Because my homemade pancakes are the best I’ve ever had. Harry’s pancakes are top 3(mine are still better) they are definitely not from a box, they are fluffy and chewy and have a very good flavor! Delicious! I probably won’t order them again, but only because I want more gravy!!! The downside is that the place is super small! Maybe 6 tables. There are signs saying please respect the time of people waiting. I like that, a lot! I recommend getting there before 9 unless you like waiting for 30+ minutes to eat… I am an early riser so I don’t have to wait. Just remember when you see the line out the door and down the street, I told you to go early!!! I recommend you wait though, it will be worth it!!!

The pancakes are out of this world! Light and fluffy, butter and with crispy edges. Melt in your mouth! They have many different choices for breakfast; Asian breakfast, Hawaiian breakfast(loco moco is insanely good and filling) and the classic griddle favorites and omelettes. *i highly recommend and stand by #45 with linguica, the loco moco, many of the pancake breakfasts, the chicken and waffles, and off of the lunch menu, the short rib stew over steamed rice. Best little gem in Sacramento

You will not be disappointed. Came here on a mellow Sunday an hour an a half before closing. Wasn’t particularly in the mood for Asian but because I had heard so much about this place, we decided to try. I was a little leery because it is a whole in the wall. Right away I noticed the prices were reasonable. I was also worried that we would get subpar service because we were close to closing. I ordered the Harry’s short ribs stew(only served on certain days) with white rice and my husband ordered the kungpao chicken with fried rice. Oh. My. Word. The stew was flavorful! Picture your mama’s pot roast with carrots and potatoes but with a hoisin flavoring. The short ribs were tender, they supplied just enough gravy, and best of all the carrots and potatoes were cooked to perfection. I tried my hubby’s dish and it also delivered on flavor. The meat was REAL chicken and there was REAL produce in the kungpao and fried rice. The fried rice was FRESH, with fluffy eggs in the rice. PERFECTION! We left feeling satisfied. It was as if we went to a homecooked dinner. We didn’t feel weighed down in our bellies or our wallets. If you are looking for your local hole in the wall, this is the place. Can’t wait to try their breakfast!

I went in to get oxtail and got short ribs instead. This place seem to be the local diner for everyone so the food is not too shabby. I recommend their stew meats such as the short ribs which come in hearty size and knife tender. I love this place.

Good food, great prices, HUGE portions. My Dad and I come by Harry’s Café before he took me to the airport. Every table was taken so we put our name on the list and waited. Because the service is so fast, we were seated within 10 – 15 minutes. There were so many tempting things I wanted to try — from classic breakfast items to the Chinese and Vietnamese options. I decided to try the fried rice with two eggs on top. Ordered my eggs over-easy and they came out perfectly. The portion was HUGE! The fried rice was delicious — and with the egg yolk from my eggs, a strange new love affair was born for me. Who would have thought fried rice and over-easy eggs would be such a great breakfast item? Anyways, the service was fast and friendly. The food is great — worth the wait and small space. Give Harry’s Café a try!

I came here on a Sunday at around noon and the place was packed! The restaurant isn’t that big so it can fill up fast. There were several tables outside of the restaurant but it was windy and cold so I decided to wait for a table to be seated inside. We waited for about 20 minutes before we were seated which wasn’t too bad. I was told to try the Short Ribs Stew so that was what I ordered. The server asked if I wanted to add two eggs to the meal so I did that too! The Short Ribs in the Short Ribs Stew were delicious! The meat was soft and the meat just fell off the bones. The sauce was good also! The eggs came out just the way I ordered it and was a great compliment to the meal. The service was good also. My coffee and water were never empty and the server made sure we were taken care of. I would definitely come back and try a different dish to explore the menu!

Came here on a Friday morning with my sister and our friend. Luckily there was street parking so we lucked out! At first glance, the place is quite small but we were seated right away. At first they gave us lunch menus but at our request, they provided us with breakfast menus. There were so many good choices to choose from but we all got something from the Asian breakfast section. I ordered the country fried steak with with eggs over rice. I also requested that my rice be replaced with fried rice(they offer that with an extra fee). Let me tell you, that fee was worth it. That fried rice was delicious! I literally could eat a whole bowl if I wanted to. The country fried steak was smackin! The gravy alone was so good! Definitely flavorful. The country fried steak was super juicy and tender! They give you such great portions and you will leave satisfied. It was definitely my first time having country fried steak with rice but it was definitely a memorable one. This place does get busy over the weekend, so be sure to come early

#yaas I’m a fan of breakfast but not usually a fan of eating a big breakfast. I guess Harry’s asian breakfast can be an exception. My girlfriend and I were convinced by the appealing photos we saw here, and c’mon how can I pass up on spam and eggs from a place with 4-stars on Unilocal? So clearly I ordered Hawaiian Breakfast #1 w/over easy eggs. It was a lot and didn’t think I could eat it all, but the flavors of each component mixed together was something I couldn’t pass up on. The spam was cooked to a perfect crisp and wasn’t salty. The rice was divine when drenched with the egg yolk or combined with the Portuguese sausage and veggies. To top it off, the coffee wasn’t bad. Definitely a fan.

I’m sorry, I don’t understand the hype. I’ve been here twice now. This is a tiny little place that serves Asian and breakfast food. So you can have fried rice… Or pancakes ha. Anyway, you walk in and stand awkwardly at the door while the workers ignore you. They don’t greet you or ask how many in your party. In fact, they’ll walk by you to bring food to the customers sitting outside, and not say excuse me. Cool… Eventually you’ll get seated. I’ve had their pancakes, and they are different than any I’ve had before. Very fluffy, but also VERY greasy. They top them with lots of butter too. Their eggs are usually pretty undercooked as well. I like a runny yolk, but not a slimy one. Both times after eating here I’ve felt sick. I think it’s the grease… And maybe MSG. IDK… People really like it so I’d say to try it for yourself. I, however, won’t be back.

Small little spot. You can barely fit a party of five but they’ll accommodate you to the best of their ability. They’ll even bring out chairs and tables outside if you care to enjoy the sun or if you need to fit a party for 8. They hustle here. Small family owned business. There’s plenty of street parking but then again I came on a Sunday where there are no parking restrictions. The plates are pretty big and fulfilling. I got the fried rice and my friends got the fried rice and loco moco. I think I liked the loco moco more. My friend liked my fried rice more. We swapped dishes. It was good until I got too much of it. So it went from good to okay. The food is good if you’re a local. I wouldn’t drive more than 20 miles just to come eat here. I do like the mix of the Americanized food along with Chinese food so if my Chinese parents wanted Chinese food and I wanted an omelette, this would be the perfect spot. Also I’m vegetarian and there are options but not the most flexible. It seemed like substitutions were not okay. That’s a tough one for me. I’m picky and I like my substitutions.

I’ve passed by Harry’s Café numerous times and seen pictures of the food, but didn’t see what the big deal was. I’m so glad I decided to come here though. I had the Asian fried chicken breast with two eggs and steamed rice. I think I should’ve gone with the chicken fried steak instead, but I liked the gravy that was on the chicken. What I LOVED were the pancakes. I don’t usually find pancakes to be anything special but these were light, fluffy and sweet with crispy edges. THE best pancakes I’ve ever had. I NEED to return soon just to eat them again.

Couldn’t see it while driving down 16th but it’s across from Quicklys on the same side. To the left. If you’re driving towards the mix. Anyway. This place is tiny. Probably fits at most 18 – 20. It’s hot. Like 100 degrees and no ac is on in here. Dying! Or maybe it’s on but only in the kitchen. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Wheelchair friendly. Mirror walls to the right. Register/to go orders on the life. Bathroom in the back. Brown tables and chairs. It’s a normal restaurant what can I say. Chinese mixed with Vietnamese food. They offer phở, vermicelli bowls, fried rice plates, and combo plates. We honestly came in for the breakfast photos we’ve been seeing. Thinking that breakfast was offered all day, we came in at 2 pm. Sadly we were wrong. :And Unilocal was no help because most of the photos were photos of breakfast, so everything else, I didn’t know what was good. I didn’t want phở, it’s like 100 degrees outside. What we ordered: General chicken with vegetables sub white rice for fried rice. And spareribs with black bean sauce sub white rice for chow fun. I wanted the fried rice because everyone’s been eating their fried rice with everything on Unilocal photos What I thought: the portions were there, the visual appearances were there, however, the taste was bland. Fried rice was dry and bland. General chicken sauce was bland. Spare ribs were eh. And chow fun was eh. Like a watered down version of Chow fun. My soda was even flat. Would I come back?! Yes! Because I really want to try the breakfast. But for now 2 stars. On the plus side the food comes out pretty quickly and it’s hot.
