I have been seeing Dr Huey for my optometric needs for over five years now. I had a coworker who went to his practice before I did. I decided to make the change because I wanted to see an optometrist closer to home rather than closer to work. Dr Huey was a bit unorthodox as I had been wearing my glasses more so than contacts. He actually encouraged me to try soft contact lenses even though I had been wearing hard contact lenses for most of my life. I did try for a short while but went back to my hard lenses. They are actually gas permeable hard lenses. I do like seeing Dr Huey; his staff is very helpful and friendly. When I first saw Dr Huey his office was a smaller place but they recently moved to a larger office behind Walgreens on Laguna by Savory Fried Chicken. I had seen one other female optometrist there. His practice has grown now that he actually could use the help. I know he has another male optometrist there as well. I like that he’s opened every day except Sundays. They do take late appointments as I hated to take time off of work! One time my contact lens moved to the white part of my eye while I was at work. I didn’t want to leave work that I popped in another contact on my eye so I could see clearly! I snagged an appointment with the lady optometrist after work. She found my other contact lens too! I know that’s crazy, huh? I thought so too!!! Anyway if you need an optometrist in the Elk Grove area consider seeing Dr Huey or one of his associates. They will work with you especially if you don’t have great insurance. It’s funny now that I see Dr Huey with glasses now because I kid him as he was the one that encouraged me to wear contact lenses!
