Update time! Gold Star Market is now under new ownership. Which for this place is a good thing! They have cleared out the old food items and to my surprise they even got rid of the «Jungle Juice» (LOL, $ 1 wine that looked so old it was probably vinegar!)!
Overall they have made some great improvements with the addition of no ATM fee and some actual desirable wines like Boogle. Now do not get me wrong, this is no great market but as a convenient store I can handle coming here for my Jumbo Ranch Sunflower seeds and Slim Jim’s (A must need as a state employee!).
Side note: they have kept all the various items one would need to smoke on that kinda illegal but for medical purposes green stuff but eh it would not be a corner store without it, Right???

It’s right across the street from Old Ironsides so when you’ve had a few you can buy the cigarettes that only sound good when you’re drinking in a great dive bar :-)

The staff here are very personable and kind. The variety of items you can get in this small place is great. I can buy Kona Red here (Hawaiian Coffee Fruit energy drink) and the only other place that has it in Sacramento is Nugget. They pulled it off the shelf and I asked them why. They told me if I want it they will renew their order. Now they have cases of it!
They also have a coffee area and a great variety of ice creams that will get you through many hot Sactown days. This place is very clean, which is always important for me to frequent a place. I know my co-workers are here on breaks everyday and I’m there at least twice a week. So glad this place is here.
