Terrible. Abandon all hope ye who enter. Dinner is sub par at best and the dim sum menu is really, really sad. I hate to give this place a terrible review because the service was pretty good. But the food is just horrible. I really don’t understand the five star reviews other than non-picky eaters or restaurants trying to game the system.

After living in Natomas for a while we decided to give this place a try for dim sum one Sunday morning. Bleh… we won’t be back again. The dim sum menu was very short. We ordered 2 haw gow, 2 sui mai, 1 chueng fun and chives dumpling. The food was mediocre… maybe? Everything was just okay… it didn’t taste as good or as fresh as it should. The worst part was both orders of har gow tasted sour. I suspect they were previously froze and the inside wasn’t fully cooked or still seeping frozen water which made it taste bad. The staff was friendly. They compensated us for the poorly cooked har gow. There were only two other tables in there when we visited. If you want good chinese food and better dim sum I highly recommend C.F. Cheng in Natomas just a few blocks away.

The service was really friendly but the dim sum was just okay. Some of the dishes tasted kind of funny but no one in my party got sick as far as I know. If you’re looking for really good dim sum, I’d suggest just making the drive out to Stockton Blvd.

My bf and I usually come for the family dinner. For $ 35, it includes soup, fish, ½ fried chicken, clay pot & a veggie dish. I think its a pretty good deal. Lately, the quality of the food don’t seem to be as good and the portion of the dish got a little smaller… not sure why.(–1 star) However, the customer service is great. They usually come around to refill water, tea and our rice bucket. I would like to come during the weekend to try their dim sum though. I’m a dim sum fan.

I am always in search of the best Hot & Sour soup and right now, I think think place is 2nd only to Yeung City in Elk Grove. The hot & sour is always good here. I’ve also had the chow fun and fried rice and it seems like everything is pretty good here.

I’ve been to Full Moon twice already and both times its for their Dim Sum. I have to say they are the only restaurant so far that serve dim sum in Natomas that I know of without driving too far. Their restaurant decorations are similar to most Chinese restaurant. The traditional tables and chairs. Their dim sum is definitely not the best I have ever had but still good. I like their ha gow, shumai and BBQ pork buns. Can’t really go wrong with those dishes. What I don’t like is their cheong fun, doesn’t matter what flavor you get. Its pretty bad. The thickness of the cheong fun just makes the entire dish tasted really nasty. Don’t order that if I were you. It is a dish they definitely need to improve on. Besides that for those who are in the Natomas ready and wants to eat dim sum can give this place a try. But just an FYI :) they only have dim sum on the weekends.

My bf and I come here very often. The customer service is superb. Each time we’re there we would get a different server but service has been consistently excellent. We ate there on a Sunday night at 8:30pm(they close at 9:30 on Sundays) and I didn’t feel like they wanted to kick me out so they can go home on time. With the gift certificate we would spend at most $ 25(including tax and tips) each time. For $ 25, we got crab, seafood clay pot, soup, noodle dish, and rice! This price is really unbeatable. The food is also very quality. We ordered more than enough food for the both of us with some leftovers for him to bring to work the next day. The dish I would recommend is the Eight Treasure clay pot. For $ 8.95, the clay pot contains scallops, mushrooms, tofu, shrimps, squid, vegetables, chicken, and BBQ pork. For as long as the restaurant is there I think we will eat there periodically! The food and service is definitely better than most restaurants in Natomas.

Was a little skeptical because of previous reviews, but could not have been happier. We were quickly greeted upon entering, even though it was nearly closing. The staff was exceedingly friendly and told us to take all the time we needed. Due to the evening time, we did not eat dim sum, but chose the special dinners for 2 or more patrons. The portions were not gigantic, but more than enough for my spouse and I. The bbq pork fried rice was declicious, as was the sweet and sour chicken. The mongolian beef was excellent, and very spicy, which I loved. Throughout our meal, our waitress came by to see how everything was and refill our drinks while being very quaint and chatty. We could not have been more pleased with our experience here. We will definitely be back in the future to dry the Dim Sum.

Ate here a few days ago and it was DELICIOUS! we started with the crab and fishmaw soup which the boyfriend LOVED… he usually only eats one bowl of soup but he had two bowls of it! for entrees, we had beef chow fun, chicken with veggies and the salt and pepper crab. the chow fun and chicken with veggies were good and pretty standard– but what really made the meal was the fact that the salt and pepper crab was PHENOMENAL! It was battered perfectly and had the right amount of crispiness. The service here was also a reason for the 5 stars. Our waitress was very attentive and cheery. She made sure our glasses were filled and our needs were met. She made suggestions when we weren’t sure what to order and was patient with us. I definitely recommend this place.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. I’ve gone there a couple times and so far the foods been really good. We’ve tried the food on the normal menu as well as the dim sum and I have to say we were all very pleased. The dim sum prices are great, for only a couple bucks you could try a little bit of everything and the seafood taste really fresh. Although everytime we’ve tried this restaurant the place has been close to empty so hopefully we’ll be able to spread the word and keep this place in business.

I came here for lunch yesterday and tried Chinese food in Sac for the first time! I wasn’t too hungry so I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps. My friend ordered the dinner A combo but subbed the broccoli beef for sweet and sour pork. I tried some of the chow mein from his plate and it was alright, not very flavorful but not terrible either. My lettuce wraps were good except I had to ask for hoisin sauce twice, which was supposed to come with it. The servers are not very attentive and we frequently had to flag someone down to request something, including the bill. My waitress didn’t speak Chinese so it was hard to ask for something I didn’t know how to say in English ]: They should consider hiring people who know how to speak the language! Overall the food was decent and I would return again to try out some of their other dishes.

Ever since their sign went up that they were beginning to serve dim sum the boyfriend and I have been meaning to make a stop. Recently we were able to give it a shot. We were the only ones in there for about the first ½ or so but the place looked like it had more then enough seating. Our server was very nice and attentive during our entire meal. They don’t have the dim sum carts going around which has its pros and cons. Cons: I love the dim sum carts since I’m more of a visual person. Also it allows you to have only what you can finish at your table. Since it was made to order we ended up having about 2 large to-go boxes full of leftovers being that we knew we’d have to wait a longer amount of time before each order came out … as the place got a lot busier and busier during our visit. Pros: Because they are made to order the dim sum is a whole lot fresher then the other places. Also, not sure if it had to do with it being made to order, but the dim sum pieces were a lot larger then normal. In the end our bill came out to about $ 45. Normally in the Sacramento area our dim sum bills have come out to about $ 20-$ 30 tops. The dim sum, was good … but not worth it, in my opinion. I probably won’t be back — which saddens me since it was the closest dim sum place to my home.

Stopped by here for takeout — this is my first visit since it was Golden Palace. I ordered some dimsum(siu mai, har gow, potstickers), their appetizer plate, shrimp with lobster sauce, peking style spareribs, and chicken with snowpeas. The sui mai and har gow were okay — their potstickers were good, but expensive at $ 1, especially because they’re small(1⁄3 size of the heavier skinned potstickers one normally gets). The appetizer plate was okay — the foil-wrapped chicken was tasty(although messy to peel the foil off) as was the crab rangoon. The spring rolls were average. I was disappointed with the shrimp with lobster sauce — it wasn’t anything like I expected — not the usual shrimp with a lobster cantonese egg sauce — just shrimp sauteed with a few(very few) whole fermented black beans with onions and peppers. The chicken with snow peas was okay — a little bland. The peking style spareribs were good. I’ll probably try some of the other dishes before making a final determination of whether I like his restaurant — but nothing so far has stood out.

I’ve eaten here a number of times with my own family as well as my extended family in addition to ordering take out. I must say that ordering to go is fairly easy. Make sure you pick up one of their to go menus and then choose what you want before you order. When you order over the phone, the person answering is really nice and will be patient if you are torn between some dishes. Ask them for help if you need to decide. They will explain what’s good to them and what their recommendation is between your choices. The one time I ate here with my extended family the servers knew my aunt. I guess she had come there a few times before. They automatically remembered her order. She even remembered the kids and made small talk. She was really attentive and remembered that we had small kids so she kept the hot tea away from them but made sure it was easily accessible for the adults that wanted hot tea. I do wish they had kid friend cups for water instead of glasses because you don’t know how many times I had to keep my eye out for falling or near falling glasses. It’s a good thing that my reflexes are in tact these days. The other times I’ve come here with just my family I guess we didn’t stand out to the server because she couldn’t remember what we ordered. It’s okay though, there were only a few dishes that remained constant while we ordered a couple new dishes that we wanted to try out. Clams in black bean sauce… simply wonderful. There are no words to describe this dish. It’s expensive but so worth the price. I could eat these little morsels all day as long as I had some rice. Honey walnut prawns were just okay. It was a little to mayoy for me. It wasn’t bad though but I could live without it. The honk kong style beef chow mein was good. There was enough for three adults and three kids even though only one of those kids really likes noodles. The noodles were nice and crispy on arrival and remained crispy throughout our meal. There was a ton of meat and vegetables which is hard to believe because most places don’t have enough. The mongolian beef had the right amount of spice and meat although there was a ton of onions. I don’t mind it but the hubby sure took more meat and left the onions for me. The orange chicken is spicy if you don’t tell them not to make it spicy. My 7 yeard-old liked it but nearly burned his tongue and drowned himself in water just trying to finish his meal. I learned from that instance to make sure to order it not spicy. You can tell the marinade is fresh because the chicken is still pretty crispy but not too crispy and there are orange peels in the marinade. It wasn’t overpowering but you knew there was an orange in the ingredients somewhere. We also ordered the chinese broccoli in oyster sauce but when it came out it was chinese broccoli with oyster sauce on the side. The oyster sauce was overpowering and the broccoli was bland. I wished they sauteed it together or something. It was impossible for me to eat, even with rice and I love me some veggies. Overall the atmoshere is very chill. They have a couple to a few flat screen televisions on the wall so that you can enjoy a show, a broadcast or a game. The servers are extremely helpful and nice but sometimes you have to catch their attention to get some extra water filled. It’s not overly crowded on the weekdays. Some days are more busy than others but you wouldn’t have to wait long which is a plus. The price is a bit more expensive than most other chinese places in the area but you get better service. We definitely come back here from time to time. The food is pretty good and they are quick.

Oh Dear God… I knew something was terribly wrong when I stepped in and didnt see a single Chinese person in sight, nope, not even the servers. I have never in my life eaten anything so bland. We ordered shrimp fried rice and honeywalnut shrimp. The shrimp in the shrimp friend rice tasted as if the shrimp came straight out of a can, dumped into a pot of boiling water, then strained and dumped into the fried rice. It had literally no seasoning whatsoever. The shrimp of the honeywalnut shrimp faired no better. Though larger in size, the shrimp itself too was completely and utterly bland. It was encased in a large, way-too-crunchy, monstrosity of a fried shell coated with what I assumed was the honey glaze… but that too was also bland… WTF I thought Chinese food was supposedly laden with MSG(a fact I’m not proud of), but more importantly flavorful… what I’d give for an ounce of it here at Full Moon.

My husband and I ate here with friends a couple days ago. We are serious dim sum fans, so we ordered several types of dim sum while our friends chose the typical American-Chinese dishes. The two-stars is for the dim sum. We’ve definitely had better. The Radish Cake was close to 10-stars; moist, fresh and tasty. But pretty much everything else(shrimp cheung fun, cha siu bau, chive dumplings, siu mai) was OK. The sticky rice wrapped in lotus root(loh mai gaai) was bland. And the Taro Cake was so dry… very, very dry. The gal who served our table was very friendly and accomodating, though. She seemed to have good rapport with the guests. But as far as dim sum goes, we won’t be back. Perhaps the seafood dishes are more tasty.

It takes phenomenal force of will for me to not compare this place with its predecessor, Golden Palace. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill. I’m of course referring to the Golden Palace of 2004, prior to that ill-conceived notion to put in a mini-buffet bar(that likely lead to their demise). Ok, enough with the nostalgia… Full Moon(am I the only one who snickers like a schoolboy everytime he hears that name?) is a decent Chinese restaurant in its own right. Nothing spectacular, but nothing awful, either. It’s strength lies in having few weaknesses. The Seafood Sizzling Rice Soup isn’t as good as Golden Palace’s was(Bloody Hell, I promised not to do that…), but it was pleasant. The Seafood Pan Fried HK-Style Noodles were also light and adequately crispy. The sauce could use a bit more flavour, and perhaps they could obstain from putting imitation crabmeat in and use something else more palatable. Mini-Halibut chunks might be a better option just like how…(I won’t say it.) Note to the chef: Imitation Crab Meat is mostly Pollack and Alaskan Whitefish. Those are low quality JUNK fish that are heavily treated with corn syrup to give it some semblance of flavour to crab. It also infects your seafood chow mein sauce with that syrupy aftertaste. As another reviewer noticed, the Salt and Pepper spareribs could definitely use«a bit more kick». But compared to the overrated C.F. Cheng’s in the same parking lot, Full Moon executes this dish brilliantly. This place has potential. I hope Full Moon sees that potential realized.
