I don’t eat Chinese food very often, only when I really crave it. So was the case with going for Chinese today. I’m new to the area and decided to try Chang’s. I ordered to go and stopped in for a boba tea right next door. There was only one family there so pick up was quick and payment was easy. I ordered a combo plate of the sweet and sour chicken that came out to just under $ 12. I originally wanted to get the orange chicken but I guess because it was a Sunday they don’t have the combo for that. I was bummed about that. The combo comes with both fried rice and chow mein noodles which I really liked. The food itself was a great portion! I had enough for leftovers and have a full meal once I do eat them. I didn’t like the flavor of the fried rice; it almost had something similar to a cinnamon taste to it. I’m not sure if that’s the norm or if maybe it had mixed with something beforehand. It was not very good at all. The chow mein was pretty good though. My sweet and sour was edible but not great either. The sauce seemed like it was just thrown in there carelessly and they did include more on the side. I’ll probably try many other places before going back again.

Changs Chinese is pretty good. I really enjoy there orange chicken because it is quite different from other Chinese restaurants that I’ve been too. The breading is fresh and crispy and the orange glaze is sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. My husband ordered the crispy garlic shrimp and he didn’t like it too much, I give this place 3 stars because it’s convenient and for the most part fresh.

I’m a regular customer, every week I order food. The food is really good. I was very unhappy about the customer service I received today. The lady that helped me didn’t say thank you didn’t smile infact she made me feel like she was bothered to help me. Yuck makes me want to spend my money elsewhere.

I’m really picky with my food so finding the right place is always hard to do when you’re new to the area. I checked them out because they are close to my house, and ordered for pickup. The food was pretty good, I got the orange chicken and white rice for a side along with some won tons and was overall happy with my choices! WHYONLY4STARS: The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I felt the prices were a bit on the high side. Other than that, pretty good spot to check out and dine in as well!

The food here is inconsistent. Sometimes it’s delicious other times I feel like I wasted my money and enthusiasm. The main reason I am writing this review is because they do not seem to care about dietary restrictions. You ask for no pork and steamed rice and there’s bits and pieces of pork and egg in your food and when you bring it to their attention they simply slide your food on to a new plate despite it having already been mixed with the pork and hand it back to you. Not cool.

**NOTRELATEDTOTHEWONDERFUL P.F.** If possible I would give zero stars. If you have ever seen South Park — this place is THEREALSHITTYWOK! We wanted Chinese so we found a spot close by, went online like most people in the 21st century do and found a menu. They had a combo plate for $ 8.75 — came with your choice of one of 6 entrees, fried rice, chow mein and an egg roll. I substituted pork fried rice for more chow mein. When we got there we went to pay and the total was $ 11.50 she explained that the menu online is wrong and wasn’t posted by her — urban spoon, zomato both had same menu. We bought with hesitance, and as we were leaving interestingly enough we looked at the menu. Upon looking at it we saw a «lunch» special for the $ 8.75 that came with your choice of entrée but the lunch menu gave 30 items to choose from, egg roll, and your choice of steamed/fried rice with a $ 1.75 upgrade for chow mein… So even then it’s $ 10.50. I don’t give a shit about price it’s customer service. The manager blatantly looked at us like we were dumb when she could’ve been like«hey sorry about that take a menu for next time we will charge you lunch prices because you had no idea» — funny enough when we left I called them to asked about the difference between combo/lunch specials and the portion size — THEYCONFIRMEDPORTIONSIZEISTHESAME!!! I absolutely hate them and they’re restaurant smells like fish/oyster sauce so I advise getting order to go if you absolutely need to eat here. Oh not to mention after being hosed the total amount of chicken in my chow mein was despicable. I forbid this business from continuing to operate, this is a CEASE&DESIST!!!

Small but great! Their menu did not have a whole lot of selections. The restaurant itself not very big, the counter ran singlehandedly by one woman… she was the hostess, server, the busser, and cashier(she is probably the owner), the kitchen ran by two cooks on one busy evening… but they always put out great food! Delicious and tasty. I’ve experienced ordering to go and dining in at the restaurant. I’ve tried their Mongolian Beef(non-spicy), Sweet and Sour Shrimp, Hong Kong Style pan fried noodles, Orange Chicken, Chow Mein, and Pork Fried rice… enjoyed them all and had a great dinner. Each dish was a good sized portions. We were well accommodated last night, party of 8, even though the restaurant is not really equipped for a large number of people like our party. Nevertheless, we were taken care of along the other guests of the restaurant. Located in the Raley’s shopping center inside the Natomas Marketplace Shopping Center. The parking lot gets full because not only do people go there for grocery shopping but there are literally plenty of restaurants around to choose from!

Let me start by saying that about 90% of Chinese Cuisine restaurants in Sacramento all end up tasting the same to me. I’m not quite sure what I’m looking for that would bump it up a few stars, but this place was on par with my expectation. My expectation being a restaurant that is just a slower version of Panda Express. This place is not bad, by any means. However, it’s not out of this world either. The lunch special is pretty flippin’ sweet though. For about $ 7, you get a decent plate of various standard Chinese dishes(Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef… Etc) with a side of fried/steamed rice, egg drop soup and an egg roll. Also, the service was beyond quick and the server was on it with the refills. So ya, with all of that. It’s a pretty solid place.

10/23/2015 was my 1st experience with Changs and I must say I was very impressed!!! I ordered spicy orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, broccoli beef, chicken fried rice and pot stickers and I must say that everything was delicious!!! And might I add pipping hot and fresh! And it was ONLY $ 40. That is a great price coming from the places I came from in Vacaville and was nowhere near the quality. Thanks Chang’s for a delicious meal and I won’t hesitate to come back!

CF. Cheng is closed so the hubs and I decide to finally try out Chang’s. We walk in and seat ourselves(place isn’t too busy). I look at the menu and ask the waitress, «Can I please see your Chinese menu?» Waitress replies, «That’s the only menu we have.» I cringe, because I can already forsee our dining experience. This place is Americanized Chinese food. By Americaized, I mean: combo plate options galore and the basic bitch menu items that include: Sweet & Sour Pork, Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, etc. with nothing exciting to offer or any REAL Chinese food options(I mean… can I get a whole deep fried Sole though!!!). You can order family style– which is what the hubs and I did. Since the menu was limited, we had: 1. Beef Chow Fun: Flavorless noodles :(and Chewy beef pieces. 2. Salt and Pepper Pork: Too salty with a dash of MSG. The pork pieces were small and disappointing. 3. Sweet and Sour Fish: More breading than fish. UH! This place is more like a sit down and be served version of Panda Express. And I don’t even eat there! Service was good and fast but its just NOT the Chinese Restaurant for me BUT a really great place for people who haven’t had real Chinese food.

Four stars is a little generous if you are looking for an upscale experience. This is definitely for the casual Chinese food diner. The wor wonton soup is awesome. I highly recommend it esp when you’re not feeling well but anytime it’s good. Their combo plates have a generous amount of food. They cook in a visible area which is nice. Service is good but nothing to brag about. Food is hot and freshly cooked.

Decent place. It’s not expensive. Food is not exceptional but above average. Good place to have lunch as they have variety in their lunch menu. Staff is nice. The soup was good which comes free with the lunch special.

Went to a late lunch. Ordered the lunch special of broccoli beef and fried rice to go. Got to work two minutes later, and my rice and egg roll was room temperature. I called to ask why I got cold rice, and the lady said«oh we make a big pot and just spoon it out.» I said, you pre-fry your egg roll too? She said yeah. I said, well how do I make sure I have a hot egg roll and rice the next time I come in? She said, well«tell me you want hot, hot, hot, and I put it in microwave for you». I have tried both locations… both suck. Don’t waste your time or money.

It’s okay. $ 8.95 for the lunch special… entrée, chow mein and an egg roll. I chose my favorite entrée, kung pao chicken. The prices are higher than my favorite place in the Natomas area by $ 2. The portions are slightly larger, though. The chow mein is really good. The kung pao is alright. Just alright. The veggies and chicken were all cooked great, but the flavor wasn’t as good as I’ve had other places. The service was great and friendly and the place was really clean. Worth going back if I happen to be in that shopping center and short on time, but my favorite is still Mandarin Express.

I just moved to the Natomas area and I’m in search of my go to places. I loved this food. I got my food to go, so I gave it 4 stars as I didn’t see a lot of people dining in, however, a ton of people take it to go. I believe there are two other chungs in a 15−20mile radius. There are large portions. Not to greasy tasting. I had potstickers which were very tasty. Beef chow mien which tasted wonderful. Chicken and mushrooms which was good but I’d try something else next time with my two key items.

They have 3 locations in Natomas. They have two restaurants in the newer Natomas area; one in the Safeway plaza and one in the Raleys plaza. The original restaurant is location on west el camino and truxel rd, next to Long Drugs. Delicious authentic Chinese food, large portion for such a good price. Super friendly staff…
