We stumbled upon this place tonight by complete accident and we are so glad we did! What a hidden Sacramento-area jewel. I’d love to come back when we can do wine tasting someday, but we did have dinner at the restaurant. The ambiance is amazing, the restaurant is in an old wine cellar. The food is delish with an Italian flair. Large portions, and a good variety. Did not disappoint, and we plan on coming back!

Either the manager or owner was very rude to my and my cohorts when we did an event there. I now turn down any events in which a client chooses this place as their venue unfortunately.

Frasinetti’s is a hidden gem unlike any restaurant in the area. Great atmosphere, wonderful wine selections from the winery at modest prices for the quality, and a terrific restaurant with authentic Italian dishes. You can absorb the history of Frasinetti’s just enjoying a quality dinner. This family owned facility is so unlike the corporate Italian chains that try to pass off their food as authentic. The winery first opened in 1897 and the dining room is in one of the original wine cellars. Driving into the restaurant/winery area feels like you are entering a earlier time in the valley, very historic and quaint. Wine tasting is complimentary and can be a good start for choosing a new wine to go with your dinner. I especially enjoyed their seafood manicotti and the pot roast, but all of the dishes look great, with ample portions to guarantee you won’t go home hungry. A real treat for a special occasion, but also a great place to visit for the wine tasting or dessert. The atmosphere will bring you to the restaurant the first time, and the quality and taste of the food and great service will bring you back again.

This is a cute little winery. I accompanied my sister to her coworkers retirement dinner party. To get there you drive down a ling weird looking road and it looks like a road to get you killed and its by the train tracks too lol. Anywho as we pulled up we saw the winery sign. They have a dining banquet area for private parties. They also have a souvenir area i’m guessing you can purchase wines by the case or bottle from there. I didnt get a chance to check that out because when we got there it was almost 8pm. We went in and there was a bar and the bartender made us their new years eve special called a berry merry sparkler. It was very delicious and refreshing. The area we went to was quite small but other then that i know they do have dinners there and wine tasting. Maybe i’ll check it out next time for the food and sip on some bubbly wine.

FRASINETTI’S MADEOUR25THANNIVERSARYPARTYWONDERFUL! This place was perfect for our 25th Anniversary celebration. We had 100 guests. This review is on their wedding service and their food. Everything was wonderful! There was PLENTY of food. Our guests had seconds and thirds. They have great staff and they provided great service. WEHAVENOTHINGNEGATIVETOSAY. The complimentary Wine Tasting was a great treat for our guests, they loved it! And the wine tasting place is so beautiful, we had great pictures because of the lighting inside. A charming place! We looked at various venues in the internet, but all of them were missing something we were looking for. When we came across Frasinetti’s we got really interested. So we decided to go visit, and what a pleasant surprise. It is a gem hidden on Florin Road. As we drove inside we already liked the buildings from outside, and when we went inside we really liked the atmosphere, the rustic wood building. It has that old-world charm. We decided for the buffet style dinner. We met with the owner, Howard. We had couple of requests and Howard was very accommodating. We set up a date for food tasting and we were very pleased with the menu and the buffet food. All tasted delicious. It all tasted the same on the day of our party. We gave them a budget on the wine and beer. We made our own decorations in white and silver, our special centerpieces and candles, it went so well with their wood walls. It looked beautiful. The staff was perfect. Their service was wonderful, they were always checking on everyone, going table to table. We did not have to worry about anything, they took care of our guests. So, if you are looking for a historic, charming place for a party, this place is perfect. Our guests loved the food, the service and the wine tasting. We were very pleased with everything. this place rocks. I went here couple weeks ago for a friends retirement party. The catered food supplies by the restaraunt was delicious and didn’t that cheapened or mass produced. The drinks at the bar were well mixed and not stingy on the alcohol content. they have a gift shop/wine tasting room that’s free to taste. very rare these days I e found. my wife and I sampled about 5 different wines and ended up buying the pomegranate fruit wine. that stuff is amazing. I went back to get more but they were sold out temporarily. I went online instead to get some but it was actually more expensive online by about 5 dollars a bottle. so I’ll be heading back to this winery soon to restock.

The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. One on my pet peeves is my drink being empty for too long and my cup was never empty here. I would definitely come back and recommend anyone to try it. You won’t be disappointed.

This winery/restaurant/party venue is 100 times better then one could expect for the middle of South Sacramento(ghetto neighborhood/high crime/violence etc). They charge like they are in a high rent neighborhood and have all the kinks worked out. I have been there a couple different times for anniversary party and a normal dinner. Both times it was mediocre they are defiantly not capable of handling a venue party and the normal guest. As always I’m sure their other customers are happy with the wine and the full bar. Prices are high, food is lame, location is in the middle of no-where(none of the customers live in the neighborhood). So many other nice restaurants in Sacramento.

This is one of my favorite local places to visit! This hidden gem is tucked away from the busy streets near Florin Road and can be easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. It’s a quaint family-owned restaurant and winery. THERESTAURANT The restaurant has been around since the late 1800s and exhibits an old-world charm. The lighting is very dim and soft, creating a tranquil and romantic ambiance. Although they don’t seem to alter their menu much, all the foods I have tried there are extremely yummy! My favorites here include the creamy steamed clams, the salmon risotto(yum!), linguine and clams, and the pot roast. THEWINERY They offer free wine tasting! I always stop by the tasting room before heading into the restaurant for dinner. I especially like their Chianti and Chenin Blanc! I have never failed to buy at least a bottle of wine every time I stop by here Very reasonable prices! This place is definitely a local gem in Sacramento!

It’s funny that my reviews of this place seem to keep«disappearing» and so do the reviews of my friends. ‘Tis odd for sure. This review is on their wedding services as well as their food. I’ll keep it simple since there’s a chance it’ll just disappear again. The venue completely messed up the food for my wedding day. The error was not with any of the staff nor with my husband and I(whom the owner Howard insisted on blaming). We had altered the food menu and tasted our updated menu — we finalized our menu in person and over the phone multiple times in order to make sure it would be right. And despite our efforts, it was very wrong. We needed to have a mushroom free menu because a close family member is severely allergic to mushrooms. Let’s just say our food was full of mushrooms and hidden ones too. In the end, the owner insisted we were to blame and refused to take responsibility. He said essentially that the food was eaten and that was that. Of course we had to eat the food. 80 plus people aren’t going to starve themselves and wait for a selection that wasn’t coming. We tried coming back later with family for just a couple of dinner but the food was overpriced and not good. The service also wasn’t great. I will say though that in our wedding day one of the staff members was awesome. I believe his name was Danny. In the end, yes our wedding was lovely, but the day is still haunted by their BIG mistake and the way they handled it afterward.

If anyone is rating this place at less than 5 stars then they have NOT had the Salmon Risotto, We’ve been coming here for YEARS and that dish is SO awesome, we can never get ourselves to try something different. My Mom did once and spent the whole dinner looking«Longingly» at our plate of Salmon Risotto! We were there last night, brought a bottle of Kendal Jackson Chardonnay and everyone treated us like GOLD!

We have not been there since Valentine’s Day, but we were able to secure a reservation for Mother’s Day brunch. We arrived, only to do a free wine tasting with a lady that definitely was made for that job, then we walked over to the restaurant, and were greeted by the owner himself. We had to wait about 2 minutes for our table, we were seated, and then off to a magnificent brunch, full of everything you could possibly imagine, and MORE… There was a lot of staff running around serving drinks and what not, but the chef himself was at the carving station cutting and serving the meat. How classy and impressive. Sure wish you served brunch more often, but we will be back next year! Thanks

Oh wow, please PLEASE do NOT waste your money on a wedding at this place. The pictures are deceiving, as this was NOT anything like my experience at my brother’s wedding. It was a beautiful day in May, but they would not let them use the nicest area for the wedding because they claimed ‘we don’t have time to paint and clean it yet.’ However, even unprepared it was much nicer than the tiny spot they gave them next to the parking lot. Yes, that’s what I said, ‘next to the parking lot’. The bar nearby were we seeked refuge from the heat was dark and dreary and musty smelling. Now lets talk about the reception. The room was very small for 50 people and had horrible acoustics for the ‘DJ’. The ‘buffet’ was lame with very few selections and the buffet staging area was tiny and poorly lit. It was difficult for people to get to and from the area and very hard to see the food because it was so dimly lit. Also, the reception area was right next to the train tracks and I literally counted 7 trains that went by at high speed just a few yards from the window just within the 3 hours that we were there. Seriously, this was FAR from beautiful and comfortable, and definitely not high class. I can’t believe they paid $ 700 for the area and then $ 1,400 for the average tasting, poor variety buffet selection. Frasinetti’s should be ashamed of themselves, especially since the refused to let my brother and his fiancé use the bigger, more beautiful area that was allegedly ‘not ready’ for a wedding. The disallowed area was so much better than the area they were given(next to the parking lot), that the photographer opted to use that very area for photographs instead the the area they were given for the wedding ceremony.

Worst meal EVER. I was initially excited that my company Christmas dinner was going to be at Frasinetti’s. I have been to the establishment in the past(Summer) to look at a wedding venue and thought to myself, «how quaint». It has been around several years, so I figured they must be doing something right. Was I ever wrong. When we first arrived, everyone was shuffled into the«Wine Tasting Room.» That is another building with a bunch of nick-nack, dusty, CRAP they are trying to sell you, all while pouring samples of their even crappier wine. I tossed my Chardonnay out on the way back to the restaurant. And trust me… I am not a wine snob, but this was some hooch. Dinner finally comes for a party of 25… in odd segments. Yes, the bread was cold and the butter even colder. Ok, I am not the worlds best cook, but even I know that you don’t put Thompson grapes and Calamata Olives in a wine sauce with a barely HALF of a pounded out chicken breast and charge $ 30 a head. I didn’t order that, but I tried my table mates dish. My husband got the lasagna. It was a child’s portion at best. He and the rest of the men at the table mostly ate bread. I got the«Seafood Manicotti.» Ahhhh how I love seafood AND manicotti. How could I go wrong? ERRRRR!!! Try dated salmon manicotti. There was no shrimp, no crab, no fish other than salmon. And I like salmon! I ate 1⁄3 of the 2 and left the rest. It was disgusting. The whole meal was horrible. I am extremely disappointed in the menu offerings for $ 30 a head and the quality was even worse. Even $ 20 a head would have been a slap in the face for this abomination. Oh, and when I pointed out to the staff that there was a MAJOR water leak in a portion of the ceiling over another section of the restaurant pouring on the hardwood floors and causing a flood and slip hazard, the waitresses response was a dumbfound, «huh…oh…ok! We know» I’m not sure if the current owners are aware, or even CARE, but judging by the looks of the black and white 50’s pictures of the proud original owner, meez thinks that the generations present, aren’t «present.»

Nothing fancy. Just great food in a historic family winery. Plenty of wine tasting before your meal & no tasting fees!

Let me start off by saying that I was really pleasantly surprised by this place! I had always seen the old abandoned sign but never thought of going in, thought it wouldn’t be worth it… However we came here for an anniversary, and it was really nice! You totally forget that you’re in South Sac! We had dinner reservations for a Saturday night at 6, and there was a wedding going on, which I felt helped vamp up the atmosphere. The service was not lacking even though there was a wedding. The restaurant is dark, and has an antique look to it, giving it character and credibility as original. They have a huge barrel inside the building all the way up to the roof which is impressive. Started with a Greygoose neat with the Calamari apps, which are the best I’ve ever had! For a winery, their selection of wine isn’t very big, but it’s not bad. We had a 2009 Rodney Strong Cab which was smooth and very delicious! As for the meal, I will admit it was just ok. Since we were at an Italian place I went for a pasta, so my wife and I had the Pasta Diablo. The Filet Mignon was too chewy for me, the sauce was a bit too sweet and the mushrooms clouded the rest of the color and flavor of the sauce. I would recommend the 12 oz NY Steak. It’s about $ 5 more but totally worth it. Had the tiramisu for dessert and the waiter brought one on the house. Very nice touch. I would definitely come back!

Came here over the weekend for some wine tasting followed by dinner at their restaurant. The wine tasting experience here was awesome. The lady was super sweet and attentive. She suggested wines for us to taste based on what she knew about our preferences. My fave was the Cabernet, although she did mention that the Burgundy and Chianti were their most popular reds. The tasting room was super cute as well. However, the food at the restaurant was a major disappointment. We ordered the warm brie, crab & artichoke dip and the clam linguine with a side of chicken breasts. The dip barely had any crab in it and I’m pretty sure it was imitation crab as well. The clam linguine was way too salty and most of the clams were empty. The warm brie was pretty good, but I guess you can’t really mess up warming up brie. The servers were super nice as well. I had seen on their online menu that they offered $ 10/carafe during the lunch and had asked him if they offered it for dinner as well. I guess they don’t offer that special for dinner but he was kind enough to extend that offer to us for our dinner. Now that is great customer service :) My overall experience was great! And the staff here is super sweet and nice. I just wish the restaurant served better food.
