When in town with family& friends that fly in, I always take them to Fanny Ann‘s for a great lunch and reminder of the stuff I use to have, its a great place to just visit with everyone that seem to be a friendly atmosphere with people that also enjoy the place to be anytime.

Four of us flew up from San Diego on business. Had heard that Fanny Ann’s had some good burgers. That is very true! Everything was perfect. The small Saloon atmosphere was funky. The crew was fun and very professional. We can’t wait for our next business trip in June.

So much character and the food and drink deals were delicious and spot on! Doubles for 5 $ during happy hour! And the portions are big for happy hour specials! The staff was really nice also!

The curly fries are the best but the most fun to be had is on the second floor near the bathroom doors. Lots of screams! Decorated with Americana that you could spend hours looking at. This place adds lots of fun and flavor to the old Sac town.

Here on NYE first time trying out this place. So I was ready to try out anything and I didn’t even care to read the whole description of what in it. I order humper hamburger haha sound funny forgot what it call something close to that. This hamburger signature have chili. Any kind of hambuger i eat it has to have lettus so luckily i got a salad instead and it was super delicious. I do have to say when I saw my order it looks disappointing like it wasn’t going to be a good one lol. *If you check-in on Unilocal you get a free garlic fries so that was a plus!

Great burgers! Unique layout, 5 floors of seating. Quite an old building and a must visit! Beer and a burger! Not a huge fan of the walk-up order style, but I can live with it. A bit slow too. I love burgers and beer, so I will be back!

What a Sacramento gem! It has been a tradition for me and my wife to come here for many years now and while there are some aspects that you may or may not like about this little spot, it is such a cool and different experience that I couldn’t give it less than 5 stars. I love their burgers… they are very tasty. I actually had a side salad with my «Bleu’s Burger» this time around instead of fries and it was super fresh and a nice change from the norm. I also love the fact that it is a little tucked away secret in the back of a bar where you can find some really good food… it’s out of the ordinary and different from your typical restaurant = fun! The building itself is very fun and different as well. You can go upstairs or downstairs and find a different experience on every floor. There are larger tables for larger parties and small intimate tables If that is what you’re looking for. So I really really enjoy coming here. It is a pretty affordable place to eat downtown too now that I think about it. Now for some possible cons that I can overlook in this situation because of the other aspects that make this place great. #1 the bar situation. The bar scene can make this possibly not the best place for families. I have seen families here, but the drinking crowd can be somewhat obnoxious at times. The bar crowd also makes it difficult to maneuver around the restaurant. This could be a positive if you are looking for that bar scene. The only other thing I could think of would be #2 their drink situation when eating. If you want a drink with your meal you have to fight through the 10,990 people at the bar drinking and you pay separately at the bar for drinks. This can get a little annoying because you wait to order your food then wait to order a drink, but the bar tenders are always very friendly and as I said before, the experience is worth waiting a little for your drink(it does discourage me from refills though which is maybe what they are hoping haha). I will continue to come here for as long as the way Fanny Ann’s operates does not change.

Fanny Ann’s is one of Sacramento’s oldest and divey-est tourist traps in Old Sac. It will probably be around longer than my time on Earth. It’s a 3 level bar that smells like beer and puke. Apparently, it’s family-friendly. I always see kids in there. WTF? Because there’s pinball machines and a foozball table, it makes this an appropriate setting for your kid, who can’t even figure out which bathroom they can use(regulars will understand what I mean)? This isn’t Joe’s Crab Shack or even Annabelle’s Pizza! It’s a DIVEBAR that serves burgers and fries through a window for God’s sake(go to In-N-Out and pick up a 6-pack of craft beer and go home)! OK… kids-at-a-bar rant over, but still shaking my head… Anyways, count on good times and decent burgers and wings to go with that draft beer or shot! And make sure you go into the right bathroom!!!

As my Unilocal buddies and I were continuing their Old Sacramento trip on 12÷6÷2015, we were heading to this vintage dive bar called, «Fanny Ann’s Saloon.» This local dive bar delivers some great burgers, sandwiches, fries, and of course, great drinks from beer to specialty mixers too! As we entered, this place’s atmosphere is totally small in a crampy way in the main first floor although they have more little space in the third floor. This place have three floors above especially the basement floor for more gathering visits! The concept is very vintage made filled with various of artifacts and collectibles that surrounds the whole interior room. The bartenders are doing a good job here although it’s very mixed bag here despite the fast commute. The customers orders are officially correct for ordering food and drinks which I have no problems at all. I’m sure they need to improve customer service here without leaving the remaining customers behind. Now onto the food and drinks! I ordered a Track 7’s Bee Line Blonde; a light beer, and it tasted so good for that beer as I drank it. Very bolder and elegant. For the food, we ordered curly fries and garlic fries for a muchier snack. Their fries are totally outstanding! The seasoning is flavorful as I can feel the minty garlic right through my mouth. What a great meal! Parking can be difficult to dine in Fanny Ann’s. You can park it at the nearest surface street parking or parking garages available. If not, you can ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Fanny Ann’s Saloon is the good, average vintage dive bar right in the Old Sacramento area. Perfect for friends gatherings! A worthy visit. My rating: 3 solid stars.

Ok, it’s been years since I’ve been here, but it was great to know they still have BURGERMADNESS. I believe 10 years ago it was $ 4.50 for a huge burger and curly fries. And 10 years later, it’s only $ 5.49 for the same meal. Are you kidding me? Yeah, yeah, I know the place looks like it’s falling apart, the table are sticky, the floors are dirty, but that’s the charm of this place. If you’ve never been in there, you gotta check it out. And don’t forget the BURGERMADNESS!!!

Have been here several times in the past and service has always been decent. This last go around, was not as impressed. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was not still fairly empty. The staff seemed to want to be anywhere but there. Food was way overcooked and ultimately left ME feeling as bummed out as the staff seemed to be. Used to love this place because it reminded of the Bear in Chico. The cool vibe, friendly staff and of course a decent burger. Not this go around. Hope this was a fluke and they pull it together! Will try them again in the future as previous visits always were a fun way to finish off showing our out of town family a good time.

The service is very friendly and very slow. My fries were cold and I waited 17 minutes to receive my order. The burgers are excellent! If you come here come for the burgers and the drinks.

Torn between 3 and 4 stars… I guess for me its a 3 for me but if you’re into divey spots maybe a 4? I hear this place has great burgers but the day we visited it was all about the WINGS! We decided to take a bike ride from home down to Old Sac for the day. For whatever reason it’s been years since I’ve been to Fanny Ann’s so it was like visiting for the first time again. That staff behind the kitchen and bar were really friendly. We decided to share 2lbs of buffalo wings(about 9 wings), a basket of curly fries and of course drinks! Who would have thought the wings at this random spot in Old Sac would be sooo good! They came out fresh, hot, spicy and crispy. I love when the skin is still a little crispy out the outside and the meat piping hot on the inside. They serve the the whole wing and joint so if your into that extra part of the wing… extra wing tips for you! There wasn’t much to the fries but I enjoyed them. I just love fries so with salt and pepper, seasoned or not… fries are always good to me. They stayed fairly warm and didn’t cold and unappealing like fries from McDonald’s. The décor is interesting and it’s a little old and rickety as you head upstairs but nothing to be worried about. We sat in the second level near a small TV. The AC was blasting so it was a little chilly where we were sitting. Upstairs there were a few arcade games, fooseball and pinball. I’m really interested in trying their burgers one day. They have a pretty extensive burger menu and they all sound fabulous. I’m going to have to make a mental note and try to visit during their special burger and wing days! Happy Hour anyone?

Came here on a Monday night because my friend and I wanted to check out Old Sac since we were out there for an over night trip. Hidden fact: I have a hidden soft spot for french fries! :) Fanny Ann’s came up on our app because they offered a FREEBASKETOFGARLICFRIES with your Unilocal check– in. Who would say no to that?!? The inner fattie in me just about devoured the basket, while washing it down with a double shot of gin and soda. We happened to be sitting next to a gentleman who happened to work at Fann Ann’s during the weekends as a bartender. He was giving us the low down on Old Sac as well as the changes Sacramento has faced within the last 20 ish years. I would definitely come back here again if I were in the area. This is definitely for those who are seeking a casual, laid back, super chill bar right in Old Sac.

Went for lunch in old sac. They opened at 11:30 and there were some regulars waiting at the door. The set up is confusing because there’s the bar when you walk in and you order food in the back at the kitchen window. You also seat yourself on one of their 3 levels and you pick up your own food at the window when they call your name. The lady at the bar is cool and friendly, but we had to wait at the bar to get our water separate from our food. Ordered the pastrami burger and it comes with curly fries. It was good, but it needed salt and pepper. They have a lot of options. Will be back to try out some more of their menu.

Interesting. That’s what I think of Fanny Ann’s. Very, uhm, interesting. I have to admit, I never have a great attitude about visiting Old Sac because I absolutely hate paying for parking. I hate it. As if some of these places don’t already price gauge, we have to pay for parking and if you don’t, you’re 100% guaranteed a ticket. All of the staff was friendly and the place was pretty busy. I think someone might have put a bug in their ear to chin up, smiles from everyone. The food was pretty good. The wings were definitely the best. They were crunchy, spicy, fresh and piping hot! $ 6.99 on Wednesdays and they come with fries. The fries were boring, just curly fries with salt. I’d rather pay $ 2.00 less and skip them all together. My husband had the Uncle Al burger and said it was okay. Nothing fancy on draft except Track 7. I was expecting a few other local drafts, especially after some of the reviews. I know many come here to drink and dine in the tchotchkes, not this lady. I didn’t get the charm from dusty deer heads and dirty tables. I was completely underwhelmed with mountains of dusty items everywhere. Perhaps if I were drinking it would have been better. Also, the tables were disgusting. We started on Floor 5 and worked our way down. The cleanest tables were in the lowest level. It’s just A-OK here. The staff was really nice and the wings were tasty but Fanny Ann’s needs to fire up the vacuum before I’ll return!

I love this place. I have to admit that for several years I didn’t even realize it was there! During all of my visits to Old Sac as a teenager at least. I suppose I would’ve found it had I been of drinking age ;) Fanny Ann’s looks rather small from the outside, as it is narrow from the street. But it is THREE levels once you are inside, and with three bars! I have never been here at night when any but the bar on the main floor are open, but I can imagine it is quite lively. The décor is super fun with old signage, license plates, customers’ carvings in the wood, etc. Plenty of arcade games/pinball too! Double cocktails are only $ 2 more than regular ones, and Bloody Marys come double standard(which is such a good idea… no one needs all the sodium in two bloodies, but anyone ordering a bloody probably needs two shots… haha!). Bartenders are super cool. The FOOD is awesome here! I am a huge burger fan and they have so many different kinds of burgers. Yes, I have tried the Jiffy Burger aka the one with peanut butter on it. Was not gross and I ate the whole thing but it’s not exactly my new favorite. I usually just get a Fanny’s Finest which is the most standard because that’s how I like my burgers. Do love the Sourdough Burger though. The fries are delish, as are the onion rings. Even the ranch is good! And for the best part… the CHICKENWINGS. These are some of if not THE best wings in Sac. They are the full wing with drummette, flat and wing tip all still attached. They are so fun to eat and downright delicious. There are different specials for each day of the week as well. I just love coming to Fanny Ann’s.
