Came here based on the Unilocal reviews and so glad that I did! I am totally obsessed with Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwiches. I ordered to go because I live out of town and was going to hv it for lunch the nxt day. I reheated it in the toaster oven the day after purchase, and it was still absolutely delicious! The bread is the best I hv had out of about a dozen Viet places I hv tried. My 7yr old son loves eating just plain toasted bread with butter. He had their garlic bread dipped in homemade phở broth. He took a bite and declared«this is soooo good, it’s so light it could float on water!» It really was the perfect little size and was light, airy, and had a great crispy crust. The large size Banh Mi was huge and I cut it in half to share with the kiddos. Needless to say, we will definitely be returning when we are back in the area.

Duc Huong is my go to place for vietnamese sandwiches. #1 reason is because the bread is so amazing. This place is so much better then Huong Lan. Minus one star because they don’t serve any home made drinks or shakes, and the selection of hot food is limited.

I love their garlic bread sandwiches! The best I have had. Their pâté is perfect most banh mi sandwiches has an off taste because their pâté isn’t fresh or made right. Try their pâté pastry they are delish!

They have the best croissants, they are so buttery & delicious tasting, love them! Raisin, cinnamon and fruit croissants are really yummy too. Their ham and cheese croissants are scrumptious also, but wish they had other cheese in it other than American. Can’t forget their grilled pork banh mi sandwiches, so yummy plus their delicious garlic bread(3 for $ 1). Pricing for all is so reasonable! Always a long line, but goes really fast.

The sandwiches here are amazing!!! The pastries here are amazing!!! Everything here is amazing!!! Now that I got that out of my system, I have to say that the baguettes here are by far the best bread that I have ever eaten! Their bread is super fluffy in the inside and crisp on the outside with that nice chewy texture. I missed Vietnamese sandwiches ever since I became a vegetarian. This place made it so that I will never have to return to the meat version ever again! It’s filled with tofu skin, shiitake mushrooms, and the regular banh mi veggies and all I can say is yum! Side note: their plain baguette is really good with ice cream(literal ice cream sandwich) and the garlic loaves are a must have!

I really like their Banh mi! I always get the #1. It’s $ 2 for a small and $ 3.75 for a large. The place is cash only and there is almost always a line. If you’re going in for a #1 small, they usually have a bunch of them made already in a basket by the register. I always like mine to be made fresh so I’ll get a large, with extra jalapeños. If you haven’t figured already through most of my reviews, I love spicy food! 4 stars for bomb Banh mi, one star off for the long lines and cash only.

Okay so went here to check out the GRILLEDPORKBAHNMI. Let me preface by saying I lived in SF for a while and feel I’ve had my fair share of excellent bahn mi. The price clearly cannot be beat, $ 3.50 for a 7ish inch sandwhich, heck yes! The bread was fresh and soft, not the kind that cuts the roof of your mouth. The meat was well seasoned and the spice level was just enough heat. BUT there was not enough moisture on this sandwhich, it needed more sauce. If this had been the case 5 stars baby, alas, it twas not. Next time I’ll just ask for extra.

If there’s one complaint I have it’s they don’t put enough of their delicious pâté on their sandwiches. Other than that these sandwiches are as good as the ones in Vietnam. Even though the sandwiches are amazing, their hot chauds are mystical pastries that only unicorns could produce. I could eat a dozen of these flaky savory unicorn turds.

This is the place I like to go to when I’m making beef stew for dinner, I always come here to pick up some bread for my stew. I love their garlic bread and their sandwiches. I always get number 1 or the number 3! Large sandwiches are $ 3.75 and the small sandwiches are $ 2.75 The Vietnamese sandwich, sometimes called a «bánh mì sandwich», is a product of French colonialism in Indochina, combining ingredients from the French(baguettes, pâté, jalapeño, and mayonnaise). #1 Combination 4⁄5 Large sandwiches are $ 3.75 and the small sandwiches are $ 2.75 The number one is a combination of cold cuts such as sliced pork or pork bellies with liver pâté, head cheese, cilantro, jalapeño, cucumber, pickled daikon and carrots stuffed inside of a freshly baked bread(baguettes). Super tasty and filling. #3 Grilled Pork 5⁄4 Large sandwiches are $ 3.75 and the small sandwiches are $ 2.75 This sandwich is stuffed with grilled pork, liver pâté, cilantro, cucumber, jalapeño, pickled daikon and carrots. The bread(baguettes) is a little crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. I think I tend to like to order the number 3 more than the number one. Hands down the best place to get a Vietnamese sandwiches in Sacramento! They sell a lot of other Vietnamese side dishes, spring rolls, sticky rice with sausage, grilled chicken drumsticks, steam ham and etc. They have tons of pastry such as; garlic bread(my favorite), Cinnamon bun, Raisin coconut bun and croissant, **Cash Only* Overall if I’m craving for a Vietnamese Sandwich this is the first place that would pop into my head. The sandwiches here are fresh, tasty and cheap! How can you not be a fan?

A couple of friends live like just a few miles away from here so every couple of weeks or so I grab some sammiches here to surprise them with dinner. It is definitely busier during the lunch time hour but during the evenings I’ve never really had to wait that long for them. Service has been quick and expedient and they make their own bread in house. I’ve had practically all of the sammiches after buying a whole variety for a large gathering of friends, but my go to’s are #1 and #8. The veggies and jalapeño are always fresh, and the bread is delish. It always still has that slight crunch to it so you know it hasn’t been sitting out or anything like that. The vegetarian sammich is actually quite good with mushrooms as well as tofu. What I’ve noticed from other places is that you either get one or the other, but this place actually has both and it works extremely well together. The combination is just tasty overall and I sacrifice my diet to have one of those along with the #8. I’ve also had the pâté chard and one of the rolls of peppercorn pork. The pâté chard is tiny for my tastes since I eat a lot and I would have to get an enormous of amount of them to satisfy. Not the most cost effective for me, but definitely try them since they’re tasty nonetheless xD The peppercorn pork was tasty. I probably should have gotten it when I didn’t buy 16 sammiches so I could appreciate it wholly. It was good, but overshadowed by the rest of the food. That and alcohol kind of dulls the memory xD Definitely check this place out though, the price and quality of the food is legit.

I love seeing my old ratings from over 2 years ago! I was just here for I don’t know what time and it was amazing. And my review still holds true but I’ve definitely upgraded my thought from ‘I’m a fan’ to ‘as good as it gets’. I’ve got an appreciation for those mom&pop shops that you wouldn’t think twice about, but that line going out the door should let you know how good this place is. The BREADISAMAZING. Get a sandwich, get the pâté(my mom said it was the BEST – although I’m not a fan of chicken liver…) and get the garlic bread! AND A BAGUETTE. I mean honestly at this point just buy everything in the store. It’s so worth it. It’s an efficient system, it’s quick but can get busy. But I still love it. So glad that in the last 2 years I can still walk out thinking the bread is about as good as it gets. While you’re in the area might as well get a wonderful Bambu boba drink.

Dropped by here to pick up some banh mi sandwiches for my sister. Line wasn’t too long and it went fast. Ordered two #1s, one #6 and 6 garlic breads. Garlic bread were so yummy. Soft and chewy. 3 for $ 1, what a deal. Bang mi sandwiches are $ 3.50 for a large and $ 2 for a small. They also sell prepackaged foods and snacks.

From Vallejo so I don’t drive to Sac often, but when I do I stop by Duc Huong before I head back. I order a few mini sandwiches $ 2 each: grill pork, shredded chicken, combo, and bbq pork; they are good and cheap. Order the garlic bread; I try to wait and ask for the freshly baked ones that just come out of the oven; I think they are 3 loaf for $ 1 from what I remember. Me and my boyfriend finished 4 loafs in the car ride back; better to eat them while they are warm.

They get a 5 stars in my book. The bread is great. I love it better than the one across the street and they open at 7 am. Very Accommodating when I want to pick up a banh mi for lunch at work in the a.m. They also serve cinnamon bun. Pretty good too. I also get the mini pork meat buns(3 for 3 bucks?). If I’m cooking spaghetti, I’m here because they make a mean roll of garlic bread for cheap that i I like to make— spaghetti in a bread bowl concept.

I always stop here when I am craving a Vietnamese sandwich. There is always a line whenever I stop by. They are open super early and busy. They sell other items besides sandwiches so if you want springs rolls or the pork wrapped in leaves. I had the #3 with Extra jalapeños and freshly made. The bread is so good. There was a small wait but it’s worth it. The sandwich is warm when you get it… they make it when you order. You can also pick large or small for the bread size. The small is a good bite size for a quick lunch.

Yeah, this place rocks. Duc Huong Sandwiches is a Vietnamese bakery and restaurant in South Sacramento near the Florin Foodie Hub of 65th& Stockton. I was in the mood for a bánh mì, and of course Unilocal pointed me in the right direction. Their restaurant is clean and modern, but only has a few tables and is really more designed for to-go orders. On my trip, I opted for a pâté chaud and a #3 grilled pork bánh mì. A consequence of standing in line so long is being tempted by all the excellent options. The pâté chaud was an excellent appetizer while waiting for the sandwich. It is essentially a pastry filled with meat, but it was delicious and addictive. The bánh mì was the clear winner with an amazing combination of fresh bread, generous tasty meat, and a wonderful mix of vegetables and chilies to balance out the experience. Plus, the prices are surprisingly cheap — although it is cash only. This place is highly recommended. The staff spoke and understood English, so do not worry too much. However it is a good experience to be the foreigner to understand how other immigrants feel upon entering an In-N-Out! We are increasingly fortunate that Sacramento possesses a tremendous amount of excellent food.

I’m usually not a fan of Vietnamese sandwich but my girlfriend introduced me to this place and I have to say this is the only place I will eat a Vietnamese sandwich at. The flavor is really good and the bread is always soft and warm. They also have a half size that you can order which makes it easier to order a variety of sandwiches my They also have really good garlic bread. I would definitely recommend this place for Vietnamese sandwich lovers.

The sandwiches here are really good. I ordered a #1 and a #3 large for $ 3.75 each. The #1 had a combination of cold cuts with pâté and the #3 was grilled pork. The downside is that this place is really disorganized in regards to where to line up, some lady kept cutting me so I tried to cut her to go to the cashier and the cashier rejected me. Also I heard there is typically a long line for the baked goods in the morning. They also have prepackaged goods you can pick up and pay for, I ended up buying the piece of chicken for $ 3 and it was pretty good. Overall, this is my new go to spot for Vietnamese sandwiches.

Here’s a fun fact for you: If you pour a shot of milk into your eye after rubbing hot pepper in it, it takes away the sting. I know this fact because of Duc Huong Sandwiches. There I was, happily munching on my combination pork banh mi from Duc Huong, when my darn eye starts itching and I instinctively reach up to rub my eye. Bad move, Lillian, because I then spent the next few moments cursing my stupidity and trying to squint through my one non-painful eye to do a quick Google search for, «What to do after getting hot pepper in your eye.» Solution: Pour a shot of milk in your eye. Surprisingly, this worked very well. One of the lessons of this story is that there are hot peppers in the banh mi, so if you don’t like spicy food, make sure you pick out all the hot peppers AND all the seeds. Also, avoid touching your eye. But really, Duc Huong is my favorite Banh Mi place in Sac. The prices are cheap, though I guess, yes, they have gone up slightly in price. But come on, under $ 4 for a large Banh Mi? That’s still pretty good. The combination pork or grilled pork are my favorites. The shredded chicken is pretty good as well. The people who work here don’t have the best English, but it’s really not that difficult to order, since essentially you’re just telling them which number and which size you want. Cash only is kind of a bummer, and is one of the things keeping me from giving Duc Huong 5 stars. Besides the delicious Banh Mi, Duc Huong also offers other Vietnamese snacks and treats that are always fun to check out as you’re waiting for your banh mi. Located across the parking lot from TapEx and Vampire Penguin, Duc Huong is also a good food option if you’re planning to grab some boba or shaved snow later. tl;dr: Cheap and delicious banh mi. If all of my meals could cost me under $ 4, that would be a thing of beauty.

With the bad taste of the bahn mi from Hoa Viet on Broadway still in my mouth, I had to dust myself off and try again. I knew there was a bahn mi out there in the world for me; one that I didn’t have to make myself. This CASHONLY eatery is in a catastrophic parking lot where you will have a hard time avoiding several near fatalities. It’s smushed in the corner, but facing the street, it’s impossible to miss and yet, hard to find. I was one of the two non-Asian people in the joint. Bahn Mi $ 3.50 Large | A fucking religious experience. Grilled pork nestled with crunchy pickled carrots and daikon, thinly sliced jalapenos, ample citrusy cilantro and one long spear of crunchy cucumber that spans the entire length of the sandwich. So, while you get a piece of cucumber in every bite, it doesn’t dominate because of the way it’s cut. And it’s all wrapped up in this hyperfresh baguette, so fresh that it’s still warm. It’s so soft, light, and the crust just breaks into shards upon contact and pillowy on the inside. Holy crap! It took everything in me not to go back and buy another one after I was down to the last bite. The epitome of all Bahn Mi sandwiches.

Came in yesterday to get a sandwich and OMG I’m so glad I did. I got a large grilled pork sandwich for $ 3.75 and a pack of spring rolls also for $ 3.75 and all of that lasted me for 3 meals! The sandwich was oh so tasty. The pork was cooked perfectly, the bread was crisp but not so crisp it hurt my mouth, the vegetables were pickled perfectly OMGTODIEFOR. I’m not normally a fan of spring rolls but I wanted to try them and they were awesome. When spring rolls have a ton of mint in them I get grossed out but these spring rolls had the perfect amount of mint. I got the spring roll pack with the peanut sauce and I loved it because it had some chili flakes in it too which added some spice. I can’t WAIT to go back to get more food from this place and the cherry on top is the fact you can get a ton of food for not that much. Remember though CASHONLY here.

And round one in the Banh Mi battle of the Stockton Blvd grilled pork sandwich battle goes to … Duc Huong This tasty #3, which is a grilled pork has the usual condiments of daikon radish, cilantro, carrots, peppers and a wonderfully grilled pork. It measures a full 10 inches for the large and is only priced at $ 3.75! Very flavorful with a freshly baked bun, magnificent! Why would you ever go to one of those cra&$y Subways? Oh I get it, there are subways everywhere, and this place is way off the grid in Little Saigon. Well, if you are in this area, give it a try. Their garlic bread is 3 for $ 1, and they have some lovely hot fresh pastries all day long.

«To banh mi, or not to banh mi?» That’s the obvious question when it comes to better tasting Vietnamese sandwiches right in the South Sacramento neighborhood, and it’s right here for this secondary sandwich place called, «Duc Huong Sandwiches.» Duc Huong delivers the premium quality Vietnamese sandwiches every day with the freshest ingredients available all season long. As I entered, the atmosphere is very normally quiet and delicate filled with natural sunlight that shines from sunrise to sunset. The service has done a fine job here as I welcome there. No problems or issues at all. For the food ordering process, I ordered the #1 sandwich called, «Combination Pork.» This sandwich contains all types of pork like BBQ pork, steamed pork, and slices of ham added with chopped carrots, white carrots, jalapenos, fresh sliced cucumber, and cilantro. So far, this sandwich tasted remarkably good compared to Huong Lan’s Pork Vietnamese sandwich! The baguette is easily crisp and eatable. The rest of the ingredients are excellent as I feel the flavors of pork, and the Vietnamese made butter too. Not a bad sandwich at all! There’s plenty of parking spaces available, so you don’t have to worry to find the best parking spots available at anytime. All in all, Duc Huong Sandwiches is the best, and the finest Vietnamese sandwich shop I’ve ever visited for the entire life! Don’t miss this secondary fan favorite place right in the Little Saigon strip in South Sac! You won’t regret it! Highly recommend!

How have I not written a review for this little pie if heaven yet? Really? Fail. This place is amaze-balls. The bread is what really keeps me coming back for more and more. Carbs are proof that God loves me enough to not give me a gluten intolerance. Crust with that perfect crunch, soft and fragrant interior. Oh baby, I don’t care if you’re going straight to my belly pooch. Stuffing that bread with grilled pork and veggies takes it up to another level. My favorite is the grilled pork and the vegetarian banh mi. The veggie one is incredible. You don’t even miss the grilled pork, the marinate on the mushrooms is…*drools*. My fiancé seems to enjoy the #1, but I’m not the hugest fan of head cheese. Besides some of best baguettes you could find in Sacramento and delicious banh mi, they have plenty of other tasty looking Vietnamese treats and goodies. I haven’t the faintest idea what most these are, but hey, if you know what they are let me know how they are. And do I really need to say how insanely good the garlic rolls are? I’m sure you already know, but really, those things need to just go away before I can’t fit into my skinny jeans. Three garlicky pieces of carb love for a buck, taking them home, spreading butter, layering with cheese and salami, and shoving it in my mouth. Yum. Cash only!!!

Decent sandwich place… Smells great when you walk in… Not as big or popular than HL sandwich across the street! They have other snacks and beverages but they are slow in service! Oh Duc Huong, you are by far my favorite place to go to in Sac for Banh Mi. Some people like Huong Lan better which is right across the street but I have to say, Duc Huong tops it. I usually get either the #1 or the #2 from here. I absolutely love it here. For starters, under $ 4 for 1 for a regular size definitely hits the spot for me. Their bread is soft and even eating the the next day for lunch is still delish: D They also sell Garlic Bread here and if you haven’t tried it yet, you need to go try it. Last I brought some which was a while ago it was $ 1 each I believe… but I could be wrong on price. Either way, if you haven’t had it, get some! They also sell other things besides vietnamese sandwiches, I have’t gotten around to trying some of it yet because most of the time I don’t know what it is. I have gotten their«Banh bot loc» once here and I thought it was pretty good but I haven’t had it before at other places. BTW Cash only! If you have $ 10 and don’t know where to go for lunch? I recommend coming here, definitely worth the 20 minute drive for a banh mi
