China Station Restaurant

Came in for dinner take out last week, and I went against my better judgment. There wasn’t anyone in the restaurant and yet I still placed an order. I ordered a combination plate with almond chicken. It came with an egg roll and a cream cheese fried wonton both were soggy as if they were previously cooked then reheated in the microwave. Gross but not that’s not it. I ordered salt and pepper chicken it was awful. It was so bad that it had a chemical taste. Sort of like it was cooked in bleach, or something. Lastly of ordered some pot stickers, they took a while so my food came out a little later than I had planned, which was fine since I was thinking I’d be getting fresh, hot, and delicious food. I will never go back, like EVER. It was so nasty, un-​edible, so sadly I had to throw away $ 33. I would recommend going elsewhere if you are hungry and are I’m the mood for Chinese food.

Came here for lunch, I was the only person there. Food is just okay a bit greasy for my liking. I got the sweet and sour shrimp lunch plate with chicken chow mein, it came with a cup of soup and soggy fried won tons. With a drink and tip it came to around $ 10 I will say for that price it was much better than fast food!

Been going to this place for a really long time but this is my first Unilocal review on this place. Just order chicken chow mein, orange chicken, salt n pepper pork and honey walnut shrimp. Everything was really good. It wasn’t greasy or salty like most Chinese food. The salt and pepper pork was my favorite. Will definitely go back.

Been coming to this place since I was a kid. I’ll try to be short and simple with this. New owners suck, food taste has changed. I ordered a chicken chop suey, and chow mien to go, when I arrived at my house all I could smell is a fishy odor coming from the food. So I went ahead and opened the boxes and almost puked. All i ordered was chicken! Did they cook the food in fish oil? Or was the chicken and ingredients stale? Who knows, but I’m not eating here again!

My bf ordered a few different thing to go and when I started eating the food it was gross! It was cold and seemed old! I don’t even remember what we got, but all of them was nasty and soggy. I came here before and liked it, but after buying food to go I don’t think I would come back here! What a waste of money… I hate giving 2 stars, but I don’t want to pay for something not worth eating

Came here for lunch today. Food was very tasty. The fact that it came out so quickly is kind of concerning tho. The prices seemed very reasonable. There’s a lunch menu available that starts when they open at 11 AM. I thought it looked very clean inside. Service was fine. Nothing above or below average. I ordered a combo plate with beef/​broccoli, chicken chow mein, pork fried rice. It also came with an egg flower soup. I asked if they could NOT put crab in my cheese wonton. The waitress said they could not make it without. She said if I like, she could give me 2 egg rolls instead of 1 with a cheese Rangoon. I asked her to do that and she agreed-​but I still got served both. Lucky for me there was like barely any crab inside it. I opened it up and picked it out. I usually believe the case is the cook not paying attention to the order. but in this case, I saw when the waitress brought my check, she never indicated on it NOT to make it with the cream cheese rangoon. oh well, life goes on. I think I’d come back anyway!

The best chinese food in my opinion is the small mom and pop joints (authentic) just like this one. i have been coming here since i moved into the neighborhood. and ive never been let down! Good food and Good service. is a win win situation. Their wait time on takeout orders is impressive. next to nothing! Ambiance and décor of the resturant is nice and Clean too.
All in all. Great place to eat when your craving Chinese!

I used to eat here every week. I loved their combo plate. The food used to be very very delicious with great portion and affordable price. They used to have the best general chicken, BBQ pork fried rice and BBQ pork chow mein.
Ever since the owner changed I stopped going because the price went up, the quality and quantity of food went down.

I love this place, food is always good and they have great service. Not only that… they’re cheap! If you’re looking for good chinese food in Sacramento these guys are awesome every time!

wow what a let down this time I’ve eaten here before couple times and this last visit finally did it for me went in around 8 pm ordered take out cashew chicken and sweet and sour pork, with order or steam rice .
the order took less than 5 minutes literally. so im assuming it wasnt made to order, becausr the sweet and sour pork tasted old and like the batter wasnt cooked all the way, the cashew chicken had raw zucchini and didnt really taste fresh.
i didnt even eat it made me want to gag when i tasted the pork!!! sorry but lost my business

Very good service affordable and anything that I have ordered has always been delicious

I have been coming here since i was about three years old (over 20 years now). This restaurant has a really delicious house egg foo and broccoli beef.
The ownership of the restaurant has changed recently :(i especially miss the old fortune cookies, now they give the fake tasting ones that come individually wrapped. Anyway the food is good. Its regularly priced for a Chinese restaurant.

Very quiet atmosphere, the food and service is excellent. We like to go when Becky is working there on Sundays, she’s super friendly like everyone else that works there… the Mu Shu Pork and sizzling shrimp are great.

Real good lunch special. Plenty of food and friendly staff. Unilocal offers a 10% off cu-​pen accepted with out any issues.
Have to try dinner next.

I’ve been coming here with my family since we’ve moved here in 1997! The original owners and waitresses knew who we were and what we wanted to order, even by phone orders! Our favorites we’re crab rangoon, house special egg foo young, beef and broccoli, we did love the potstickers but they changed the taste of the sauce, so we don’t order that anymore. I find it a good place to eat because its not as busy dining in since a lot of people do take out orders.

My family has been coming here since I was a young girl. The food has ask ways been great.
We we ate at China Station last night with some friends from out of town. Our party totaled 11 people including 3 children. The wireless was very accommodating with all of the chaos. The food arrived very quickly and was delicious. I really recommend this place.

Ehh it was ok. I wasn’t a fan of the salt and pepper ribs. Looks like they deep fry it only. No flavor, nothing. The Mongolian beef was yummy tho. Not a big portion and I wouldn’t come back.

Meal was good. I got combination plate with almond chicken, rice, chow main noodles, egg roll, crab thing. I received 2 meals about the same things. About 15.00 with a tip. It was good, not bad for what I paid. Will come back one day.

I have been to this place about 2 times now, when my coworkers wanted to come here for lunch. We always order to go due to our short lunches, but if I had the time I wouldn’t mind one day trying to eat there for a change. Their service that they offer is always welcoming to their customers and they make sure to get your order right the first time around, but if it is wrong, they don’t mind changing it up and correcting the order.
The prices are not that bad, especially their lunch specials that they offer. I haven’t tried this establishment during dinner time, which I could assume would most likely be the same quality in food. There has been a few events where a coworker complained about their food being too greasy, and from what I saw it was pretty evident that the food was coated with a little to much oil.
I wouldn’t mind coming back to this location for lunch again, but I don’t think I would be coming any for a dinner, unless someone wanted to and invited to me to come along. If their quality boosted up and prices stayed fair or even lowered then definitely I see myself coming back here again more frequently. Especially since they offer great service to their customers.

Situation: Brother needed food catered for his son’s red egg and ginger party at his home. We placed the order a week ahead of time for 50+ people. They had the food hot and ready at 11 a.m. when it opened.
Best: Broccoli with Schezuan sauce and the Spicy Fried Chicken Wings.
Price: Reasonable.
Pluses: Good quality food and service.
