Omg!!! Four dishes for less than $ 20!!! It was so delicious :) I am definitely going back!

I love this restaurant because the service is good and food is good! I always get the banh xeo and the do it yourself spring rolls. And wow are they yummy! The banh xeo is flaky and goes so well with the nuoc mam aka fishy/sweet sauce. And the do it yourself spring rolls are delicious! So many fresh greens to add into your rolls and you also get a choice of meat. I usually get the pork fried. Definitely check out this place, it will not disappoint you!

One of my dad’s favorite restaurant for banh xeo. He’s been taking all of his buddies here. Served crispy and is HUGE. Plenty to share with one other and they’re not stingy with the veggies either. Their apps are standard for Sac quality Viet food… which is a good thing. Limited menu, but we’re just really here for their star entrée. Décor is minimal, so don’t expect to have goo-goo eyes with your first date here. Just come, eat and enjoy the food.

I came here several times and the banh xeo never fails. It is huge, tasty and cheap, along with the other items they have on their simple menu. Some dishes that you won’t find in your average Vietnamese restaurant quite often is the baby clam vermicelli or the chao tom, shrimp on sugarcane, which is good as well and comes in a reasonable portion. The banh chuoi nuong, grilled sticky rice with banana is a great way to end this meal for it is not too sweet and is nice and hot, drowning in warm coconut milk, topped with chopped peanuts when it is brought out to you. Service is not quite impeccable but with the prices and the uncommon Vietnamese dishes, I will be back when I’m craving a banh xeo or banh chuoi nuong.

MAN! this place has been on my to-try list ever since I ran into it a month ago from — what else — a Unilocal search! I’ve had MANY opportunities to have banh xeo in my lifetime… most(large) Vietnamese Phở places will likely have these on their menu but I don’t ever bite… know why… because the majority of them put smashed, yellow Mung-bean in the center of them(it’s a regional thing — don’t get me started). To put it mildly, I don’t like their version. The other was the fact that I didn’t feel right buying ONE crêpe for $ 7-$ 8 when I typically eat 8 or 10 when my mom and sisters cook them. Granted they come with all the accoutrement to make spring rolls but still it’s not nearly the same portion. So anyways I had a gut feeling that this place, being NAMED«banh xeo,» would probably make it the RIGHT way(imo anyways). And sure enough they were… not a damn Mung-bean in site! OK and about the portion size… my eyes must have been bigger than my stomach because a 12in diameter crepes is like 2 – 3 of my mom’s version. And although it doesn’t add up to the 8 – 10 that I’m used to eating, I’m not going into the usual food coma either. And here’s my advice on the matter of portion… at home(don’t know about other households) we usually also have rice-noodle to roll up inside with the crepes… so what I did(merely by coincidence this last time — because my kids didn’t want to eat banh xeo) was to add the kid’s noodle to my crêpe spring roles. So what I’ll probably do from now on when I go with the wife(who F’n LOVES this stuff by the way) is to order one order of crêpe and one order of a dry rice-noodle dish(with all the meat and veggies etc — an added plus!!) and do spring rolls using both dishes! Combined, the price will be like any lunch for two, but MAN will you be stuffed. OK… most Vietnamese in the-know about banh xeo who’s reading this are probably asking, «yeah BUTISITCRUNCHY?» and the answer is … not as crunch as homemade(and I’m guessing yours is the same way). But I’ve since accepted the fact that there’s just NO-WAY it could be(for those who don’t know, it’s EXTREMELY important that this dish be crunchy; it’s in the name for crying-out-loud! — and incidentally the whole reason people don’t make it much at home, even though ingredient-wise, it’s not that hard. Xeo means«sizzle,» and as such when it sizzles there’s oil splash all over the kitchen, simultaneously making an oily mess of the floors and cabinets while making the crêpe SOOOOO irresistibly crunchy. This is why no one in my family volunteers anymore to cook this stuff which makes my earlier cost argument moot). So back to my «crunch epiphany…» At home, someone is ALWAYS tending the fire making fresh ones about every minute. In the beginning it’s hard to keep up with demand; I mean, come-on 3 skillets going for 20 people? But as the rest of us are grubbing — the first few are SUPPERCRUNCHY that is until the cook catches up with the eaters and the crepes sit around for a while, soggifying them more and more as the meal goes on. So NO, there’s just no way that it CAN be as crunch as you’re used to but imo, it’s plenty damn crunchy enough; they bring it out fresh off the grill so that really helps. So all-in-all, the crunch is perfectly acceptable, for the price the portion is perfectly sized for two — when added to a noodle dish($ 7.50 each, with all the stuff to make sping rolls including veggies), and the flavor… well the flavor was JUSTPERFECT(no Mung-beens ;-). So for a restaurant… I stand by my «as good as it gets» assessment of this place. And now that my family has gone into a hiatus from cooking these things which my wife and I absolutely crave, we’ll be making regular trips here I bet.

This place has the most amazing Banh Xeo ever! I have always passed this place and just never had the time to walk in until the other day… Besides the girl in the front that looked like she hated her job, I enjoyed the food very much! my friend and I ordered the Banh Xeo, some kind of clam noodle?, and Banh Bot Loc? Lol I am not Vietnamese but I think you know what I am talking about! I was satisfied with everything except one little thing and it was the Banh Bot Loc. I think the batter was a little thick and very chewy, but the taste of it was still good. But if you like Banh Xeo, I would consider this the best in town! So come and get yours because it is worth it to try! Overall, I gave this place 4 stars for the food and for a clean nice tidy little restaurant! 1 star off for the little girl in the front who didn’t say anything after I told her«Thank you» — TWICE lol.

The restaurant is small but clean. The food was okay. I prefer my momma’s banh xeo but when she’s not around to make them for me — I’d stop by here for cheap eats. lol

Been here a couple times already, pretty consistent. Lackluster customer service, with large portions at decent prices. The Banh Xeo is huge, and very share-able. Please don’t stray away from places that specialize in certain things, in this case just stick to the Banh Xeo. They have perfected the batter down to a «T». Just the right amount of crunch and chew. Again, I insist… try not to order appetizers and etc. Stay away from nem nuong, chicken wings, egg rolls and etc. Stick to the Banh Xeo and wrap it your own way into delicious spring rolls filled with veggies and lettuce to your content. The place is relatively clean and not too much to complain about. Their service definitely needs work. Check in on Unilocal for a discount!

What a great food adventure! I have read about«Banh Xeo» and wanted to taste it and came here after getting a recommendation from a friend. I asked several people sitting nearby who were ordering the same thing to show me how to do it. I love the ritual of wetting the rice paper and rolling it all up. The flavor is great and I will be back for the flavor, texture and the experience.

DEFINITELY enjoy this spot! It’s quaint, but very clean. Wish they had umbrellas outside for their outdoor seating, but I can’t say Stockton Blvd. at that intersection would be the best al fresco dining option. lol Started off with the eggrolls, which were fresh out of the fryer. They were a decent size, but not huge. The skin had the perfect crunch and the filling was okay. Not an amazing eggroll, but I enjoyed it. It also comes with a sweet fish sauce dip. My friend and I both had the Banh Xeo Tom Thit(Vietnamese crêpe w/shrimp and pork meat) and we added mushrooms and an egg(my first time having an egg in it!). It was quite large and perfectly crispy. I’m not a banh xeo snob, so I can’t tell if it was perfect, but I’ve had it on many occasions and can say you won’t be disappointed. I could have used more meat, but I always can. It came with a healthy portion of lettuce and herbs as well as rice paper for wrapping. It was my first time eating ban xeo as a cuon(roll), but it was clean and actually made the experience far more enjoyable! Oh yea, it’s only $ 6.50 – tell me that’s not an awesome price. Chili note: there are two chili sauces provided on the table. The darker one is the typical one found in many restaurants, but if you’re looking for a real kick, go with the lighter one with a lot of seeds in it. I eat very spicy and this is SPICY. Don’t get ahead of yourself and spoon a large helping on your food or in your fish sauce unless you’re crazy!

I’ve come here multiple times with my hubby and find this place to be mediocre. I’ve tried their nem nuong with grilled shrimp and pork. I would recommend the shrimp(with shell) because it’s a lot more flavorful compared to the grilled pork that tastes a bit bland. This order is more than enough for one person — great for two to share. They provide an ample amount of vegetables for wrapping. My hubby likes their banh xeo; he thinks it’s better than most places on the blvd. I personally don’t like banh xeo period — so I can’t tell yah whether or not it’s good here! The past couple times I was here, this place was pretty vacant. Parking is not a problem; plenty available on the community plaza lot. They always have loud vietnamese music videos playing! The staff here are very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back for more nem nuong if I’m too lazy to make them myself at home! :)

3.5STARS I’ve been here a couple of times now, and it’s nice to see it finally pick up. You almost have to order the banh xeo here, I mean, come on now. The name of this place speaks for itself. I was also in the mood for spring rolls, so I’ve gotten that, too, almost on all my visits. I was pleasantly surprised that the spring rolls come out«unprepared». The noodles, shrimp, meat, pickled daikon, cucumbers and lettuce were neatly arranged on a plate for you to «roll it yourself». The dipping sauce for the spring rolls could use a little twerk. It’s a little too rich tasting, IMO. At last, the banh xeo arrives and it’s a generous size for the price. You can also roll this up, too. Overall, very tasty and cheap!

I been waiting to come here, since they opened and finally got a chance to drop by. I was surprise how the restaurant was modernly decorated. Plus, they have three TV and the restaurant play American music. At least, the music was super loud and I can’t hear myself think. Their menu is small, but at least people don’t take too long to figure out what they want to eat. We end up ordering Banh Xeo Tom Thit(Vietnamese Shrimp & Pork Crêpe) $ 6.50 and Bun Thit Nuong(noodles with grilled pork) $ 6.50 and Fried Chicken Wings $ 4. I was surprise how big the Crêpe was because I usually eat like 2 – 3 of them when my parents make it. This place actually serve the crêpe with rice paper, so you can make spring rolls with it(this is the first time the crêpe was serve to me in this way) the crêpe spring rolls actually filled me up, but that’s basically me eating the crêpe and lettuce. I think all the chewing from the spring roll wrapper made me full. The crêpe itself was crispy and delicious, but the pork was too fatty and the shrimp needed to be peeled. The other problem was this restaurant is CASH only. I was lucky that I had 20 bucks on me that day. The grilled pork from the Bun Thit Nuong was good, but the egg rolls was not. Half the bowl was filled with veggies and to me it wasn’t worth $ 6.50. If I went to another restaurant and pay $ 0.75 to $ 1 more, the bowl would be bigger and the egg rolls are delicious.

Cash only! So beware of this before you dine here. Their banh xeo was okay. A large portion and made crispy. They give you rice paper to make it into a spring roll. Definitely something I’ve never heard of before. The chicken wings and nuoc mam(fish sauce) were good. Other than that nothing else was that great. The banh bot loc was way too oily and a lot of the food was just lacking in flavor. I got the bun thit nuong cha gio. The noodles tasted like they had been soaking in water for a few hours. Very mushy and slimey. Service wasn’t the best. Even though I never really expect excellent service from a Vietnamese restaurant I was really annoyed by how condescending the waitress seemed to be. Don’t know if I’ll be back.

It’s ALWAYS a HYPE to know there’s a new place opening on Stockton Blvd. Looks pretty fancy from the outside! For Those who doesn’t know what it is: Banh Xeo– Vietnamese Crêpe filled with meat and shrimp and bean spouts and onions. Walked in just about 6pm «dinner time» just one table and then us. When I go eat Vietnamese food, I don’t usually order the BANHXEO because it is kind of like a appetizer but hey the restaurant is name after it mind as make it a meal! No pictures, typical Vietnamese R. looks nice has two big screen TV playing some Vietnamese video. The server didn’t seem like she wanted to be there, but it is what it is. SERVICECOULDHAVEBEENBETTER. We ordered: APP: Fried Chicken: had some chicken hair left on it kinda gross. Could have it been better. Egg Rolls: came out kinda burnt on one side and was plain. Banh Xeo: eh i tasted better. BUT it came with A LOTOF shelled shrimp and meat that’s always a plus. The Banh Xeo came out kind of burnt though. The cool thing about this place is that they let you make your own Banh Xeo spring rolls which is the clear rice noddle wrap and you add lettuce and mint leaf and roll it all together. YUMMY! Veggies was nice fresh and clean and A WHOLEOFIT! If there was a half button i would give it a 3.5 star because the services could have been better like I said before and the food could be a little more tasty. Price: 6.50 for each banh xeo LASTBUTNOTLEAST: I didn’t like the fact I smelled like BANHXEO when I left the restaurant! BESTOFLUCKTOTHISNEWBUSINESS!

If you have never had banh xeo before then you are in for a treat. First they bring you a plate of large leaves of lettuce, fresh mint, and sprigs of various other herbs. Then they bring you a small bowl of nuoc cham which is a garlic, chili, fish sauce. Next they bring you two long thin pitchers that are bowl shaped. One contains rice paper wrappers and the other contains warm water to dip the wrappers in. Finally the banh xeo comes. It is a large crispy delicious Vietnamese crêpe that is made with eggs, coconut milk, rice flour, bean sprouts, shrimp, pieces of pork, amongst other things. I have finally got a system down as far as how to put these banh xeo rolls together. It may not be the perfect system but it works for me. I flatten a large leave of lettuce on my plate. Than I tear a piece of crêpe off and put it on my lettuce topping it off with mint and sprigs of whatever else they give me on my vegetable plate. Now it is time to wet a rice paper wrapper and slide it under my lettuce. I roll the veggies and crêpe in the lettuce as tight as I can and then I roll that up in the rice paper. When I am finished I have a humongous, thick, long stiff roll of lettuce that looks like it has a condom stretched over it. I then stick that massive missile shaped roll of deliciousness into the nuoc cham sauce before sliding my mouth over it and taking a large bite. I continue dipping and biting until it is completely devoured and then I roll another one. I consider it Vietnamese cuisine at its finest and I hear Banh Xeo now serves beer and wine. You have to check it out. Can someone please tell me what the number 46 is about?

When this place took over the previous«Simply Teryiaki», I was a little skeptical that another Vietnamese restaurant along Stockton Blvd. would be successful. But my boyfriend and I still looked forward to trying it out, since Banh Xeo is one of our favorite dishes. It seemed like it took a long time before it finally opened. Then, after giving it some more time for the«newness» to calm down a bit, we eventually stopped in for dinner. It turned out to be worth the wait! Their small menu contains a limited selection of Vietnamese food items. But we were there for the Banh Xeo anyway. We both got an order for each of us. It typically contains shrimp and pork with mung beans, bean sprouts, mushrooms, and green scallions. I was allowed to get my Banh Xeo without the pork. A large plate of assorted greens are placed on the table to accompany the meal along with a flavorful dipping sauce. The unique feature they offer is, that you also get rice paper as part of the preparation for eating the crêpe. An upright, round, flat, clear plastic container, filled with water, is placed on the table where you then insert a sheet of rice paper into it for a ~10 seconds. This softens it enough for you to then place it on your plate, add some large lettuce leaves, slices of crêpe, and top with more greens. Proceed to roll it up like a burrito and wha-la! You now have a much neater way to eat Banh Xeo! The crêpe itself was very tasty. Fluffy on the inside and a light crispness on the outside. All the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. We only had a few drawbacks here. They barely gave us a few sprigs of mint and the shrimp still had the shells on them. It was annoyingly inconvenient to have to take the time to peel shrimps and place them back into the mixture before eating. Other than that, the restaurant was pleasant, clean and there was TV to watch while you eat. The service was friendly and helpful in instructing us on how to assemble our food. The Banh Xeo hit the spot, and for only $ 6.00, we’ll be eating here again!

Yum on steriods!!! The banh xeo is all I tried here and its very VERY good! Very crispy on the outside with great texture in the inside. And the price was very Inexpensive… Each order of Banh Xeo is a whopping [OMG!] Coming here around 4PM on a saturday, there was no crowd. Basically empty. The service was really nice and friendly. Definitely a spot to try out! Pros: Banh Xeo, Service Cons: Décor: P Stars: 4.5!!!

I was driving by this area and I noticed this restaurant. It had not opened up yet but I couldn’t wait to try it. I was finally able to make time to check this place out. My bf and i ordered 2 orders of Banh Xeo and fried chicken wings. It was $ 6 for an order of banh Xeo and $ 4 for 6 chicken wings. If you order the chicken wings to go its $ 6 for 12 wings. Such a better deal! Anyway they gave this sauce to dip with the chicken wings and it’s so delicious. It tastes like sweet and sour sauce mixed with lime and fish sauce. You’ve got to try it. The wings were ok… The sauce was what made it good! They offer hot tea for free! I would definitely come back! P. S. They accept CASH only.

5 stars for the Banh Xeo(Vietnamese pancake with shrimp, pork, and beansprouts)! Brand new restaurant for the brand new year! I tried the Banh Xeo here and i thought it was delicious! The pancake was fried to crisp and the flavor was tasty. Thanks to this restaurant, i learned a new way of eating Banh Xeo, which is eating it was spring roll wrap! It’s less messy, and is quite tastier. They give a load of greens and the fish sauce is right. My friends got the rice plate, which i thought was just okay. The meat portion was small. This restaurant has great service, great prices(everything is 6 dollars and less), and since it’s new, everything is clean. I really recommend the Banh Xeo here.
