I wanted to like this place because we need a place to go that is close to the house. It’s a combination store/restaurant. We went on a early Saturday night. I had the enchiladas and my husband had a combo plate. The food was just barely edible. I’d venture to say most came from a can or freezer. I can do that at home. My husband carnitas were super dry and tasteless. The salsa was okay, but I think it was canned with some added fresh cilantro. Went to a party where they had ordered from here. One dish was Shrimp cerviche. No, people shrimp must be cooked with heat so it is therefore not cerviche. It didn’t have any flavor anyway. We won’t be going back.

This isn’t just a taqueria but a food market and I think it might have a meat counter too but it was empty when I was here. It’s opened about 2 months ago and is located at the corner of Folsom Blvd and Bradshaw in a crappy strip mall. You’ll see Hot Shots Billiiards first and the taqueria is in a separate building to the right– kind of hard to find. I heard about this place from my dog groomer Paw Pros located next to the Hot Shots. Walking in– one side has tables and the other has some Mexican groceries. They had a few fruits out and a variety of pan dulce(Mexican sweet bread). I was tempted to buy some– they looked good but didn’t. See photo. Food: I ordered 3 tacos which came with onions, cilantro and salsa and got one adobada, one carnitas, one chicken. They were your basic street tacos. I had just worked out and was pretty hungry– had to slow myself down so I can taste the food to leave a review. Flavor was good, a little spicy which I like. The best one was the adobada. The carnitas would be my second choice but I’m picky about my carnitas and this one didn’t wow my taste buds. I noticed that their menu had some Central American foods too– Pupusas, Tamal from Guatemala, Sope. I’m planning on stopping in again and trying some of these Central American foods. The prices are very reasonable. The tacos were $ 1.25 each. Service: Great Customer service! The young lady that waited on me was very nice. She gave me recommendations on what to order. The food came out pretty quickly too. I definitely have to come back here and update this review.
