Arboleda’s is the best, most affordable Mexican food in Rockwall county! Literally pick anything off the menu, and it’s amazing!

Service is fast and polite. Restaurant is clean. Chips are pretty good, about what you’d expect from a Mexican Restaurant. I had 3 fajita beef tacos on corn tortillas and they were awesome! Good portions of food as well. I definitely did not leave hungry!

This was a welcome surprise; tucked away in downtown Royse City, away from the clutter, traffic, and pretentiousness of urban establishments. The experience was casual, comfortable, and professional. The staff were friendly and thoughtful. The establishment was not flocked with unnecessary decoration, and the trappings were not unnecessarily flashy. This is a small town venue with character. But the food! What I ate is what one would expect watching a Food Network show. It was like Alton Brown and Gordon Ramsay were judging them in the kitchen. The salsa is made in-house. While it is the soupier variety that I don’t usually prefer, it was packed with flavor and had a gentle bite that even a novice can enjoy. The chile con queso may have been made with processed cheese(I didn’t ask, and didn’t see it prepared), but it tasted like they had melded and melted artisanal cheeses. I ordered a couple of house specialty enchiladas, since I couldn’t decide on just one. I had a chicken fajita enchilada with cilantro sauce, and a beef fajita, poblano enchilada. The chicken was smoky, and the seasoning didn’t overwhelm its natural flavor. The beef was well-seasoned, and retained its signature flavor as well. Both were cubed, making the enchiladas easier to consume. The cilantro sauce(a cream sauce) was sweet, but enhanced the flavors of the meats, and didn’t distract. The poblano flavor in the beef enchilada was a member of the band, rather than a ham-fisted solo artist. Overall, the flavors were well-orchestrated and amazing. The refried beans were well-flavored and had the right consistency. The rice was just what one expects from, «Mexican», rice, and lent itself to individual enjoyment as well as making a good foundation for other items on my plate. A spoonful of queso on the rice, and mixing it with the leftover cilantro sauce almost made its own dish. Jaquelyn – the manager on-duty – was thrilled to hear it was my first visit. She was kind and considerate, and friendly. She recommended their skillet apple pie. Alas, it was not to be this evening. However, I will be returning, and with friends.

I have been coming for years and it has been great but for some reason it has fell off. The food is not as good as it used to be. Kinda disappointed because this was one of our favorite places.

little town. pickens are slim in the dining out department… ritas were good. service was good. the bartender was actually pretty cool & friendly. queso was good. nachos were good. as far as I can tell, this place is kinda decent! I will likely go back on another night when I don’t feel like cooking, i want a margarita, and I want to stay close to home. if their bar sat more than 2 people, and was more comfortable, i would definitely go back more often…

We ordered dinner to go Thursday night. We got the Queso Flameado, Cascabel Tacos and Fish Tacos. Everything was delicious. Even the chips and salsa were yummy. The salsa was less tomato salsa and more of a deeper flavor. The food reheated well, which is great, because the portion sizes were good. The price was reasonable considering the portion size. This is the best authentic Mexican food on this side of I 30!

This is what I came to Texas for besides good bbq. Luckily have a friend who took me here and stayed away from the franchises. I ordered the special dish entrée and it took up half the table. I couldn’t scarf that down fast enough. I’m from new york, the Mexican food in new York looks like diarrhea and comes out as diarrhea. But the food here is out of this world that very few places can replicate. The beef in my dish was juicy as it can get. Even the side beans is on par with home cooked meals made with love.

Best Mexican place west of Greenville. Even Dallas. The servers are beyond friendly. The food is great. It is not you average chain food.

This location is by far the best of the 3 Arboledas! Great service and perfect food, every time. Their salsa is the best around, and they have the best cheese enchiladas you’ll find.

I’ve been craving beef enchiladas. These were alright, but not quite the level I was looking for. 3 stars. Chips were good and especially the warm salsa. Excellent. 4 stars. My son got the shrimp enchiladas and said they were great. I tried a bite and yes, the shrimp was near perfect. 4 stars. Service was very good. No complaints at all. 4 stars. Located in a store front on Main St in 100 year old style building. Long and narrow. I love these type spaces. This one is actually a double wide space, maybe 30×70 dining area separated by a partial wall. The left side has office style drop ceilings. Not attractive. The other side has the original 16 – 18 foot high ceilings with old painted tiles. Nice. Nice, except all the lighting is older long tube white fluorescents. One side was super bright. Walls are painted yellow, OK in a Tex-Mex space. So much more could be done with this space with some investment and good design. 2 stars. .

My favorite is the Wednesday special: Cheese enchiladas with queso sauce. It always hits the spot.

Arboledas is pretty great! We ordered some food to go from here on Sunday, but we decided to stay and eat some chips and salsa and have a margarita before we headed out. The salsa is great — there are two different kinds: a smoky, chipotle kind and a hot kind. By hot, I mean they serve it to you warmed up. I liked both of them, but the warm one was my favorite. You don’t see a lot of places serving warm salsa, so I was happy to find it here. The chips were nice and fresh and looked as though they had just been cooked. The margarita was served in a pint glass, which I thought was amusing. The man who made them asked us how they were because he doesn’t really drink liquor and he wanted to ensure he’d made them correctly. Since the margarita was good and strong, I’d say he did a pretty good job for not being much of a liquor person. I’d certainly have another one in the future. I got the tamale dinner and it was really tasty. Yay for places that have good tamales! The rice and beans were good and the chile con carne was also really good. I would definitely order this again, but I pretty much only order tamales at restaurants where I can find them. You can never have too many tamales. The service was fantastic! They made sure we were always taken care of without being over the top or seeming insincere. The guys were incredibly friendly and definitely on top of things — basically how you would want service to be anywhere you went. You’re probably not expecting much because you’re in Royse City, but definitely give Arboledas a try if you’re in the area. Solid food, excellent service, and strong drinks. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Stopped by here on Sunday and wanted to love this place. Sadly its a disappointment! The waiter was distracted and kept forgetting things. He even forgot my daughters food! We had to remind him she still had no food infront of her. My tostadas were soggy and my street taco was cold and soggy as well. My daughters enchiladas were tex mex and not authentic mexican food. The chips and salsa were the best part of the meal. Will not return.

Good experience! Everybody liked their food. We ordered shrimp fajitas, chicken enchiladas, beef fajitas and carne asada. Chicken fajitas was the best with the carne asada being just okay. Rice was very good! Service was quick and he came by often to check on us. Not too far off 30 in quaint downtown Royse City. Nice change from chains on the highway.

We have lived in this area for several years and only allowed ourselves to discover this place a couple of months ago, and now we are there about once a week. Authentic Mexican dishes with Tex-Mex, and everything I’ve had has been great. Only place that serves dishes with mole, and the best salmon salad I have ever eaten. The brisket tacos are out of this world. They have several good dishes I’ve never seen at a Mexican restaurant. The service is wonderful. We always get treated well, like family, and we usually bring several people with us.(Our usual party is five or six large.) Arboledas in Royse City is the first restaurant we have been proud to become regulars for. Love, love, love it.
