Al Havner & Sons Hardwood Floors

On the positive side the Havner crew was courteous and hard-​working. They willingly refinished one floor that was mutually agreed to be unsatisfactory.
However, the overall quality of the floors they refinished was deeply flawed. There are visible waves in both rooms. Stain was left on stair way carpeting as well as lime stone hearth. Havner crew broke the lime stone on the porch while loading equipment. Repair costs were reimbursed. Overall, it was an unsatisfactory job.

Al and his team recently completed sanding and refinishing hardwoods in my new home and did a wonderful job. The floors had faced years of neglect and had many scratches and cracks. Al’s team restored my floors and they look great!
Showed up on time and provided a quote, were able to start 1 week later and were able to complete the job in 3 days. On the first day they sanded the floors and put down stain so that I could see how the color would look on my floors before I had to make the choice.
They made it very easy for me to get back in the house and continue with my move-​in.

Floors look brand new!!! I recently bought a new home and needed to have the oak floors refinished. There were some time constraints with getting the floors done because I had to be out of my old house and in the new one within a month. I told them about the constraints and he was able to fit me in about 2 weeks after the estimate. However, an hour after he left he called me to say that he had a postponement of a job and he could start the next day. Havner told me over the phone that the usual price $ 3 a sq ft and I got charged $ 3.25 a sq ft because I requested an extra coat. I believe this to be a good price considering how many angles and little areas I have that had to be hand sanded. They get 4 out 5 stars because they were a little flakey on scheduling the estimate.
Bottom line… I would hire them again and I am recommending them to my friends.

Al and Sons just finished my wood floors and it was perfect. They were very professional and I am going to have them come back to finish the rest of my floors in my house. Before they worked on my floor, they put different types of finishing down to see which one I wanted to go with. This was great, because you got to see what the finish is actually going to be, instead of looking at it on the internet or in a store, (which might not turn out the same on your floor). We went with a darker one that they had and it was perfect!

Al and his sons are dynamite. They come in and create these amazing textures on just about any kind of wood — ash, oak, mesquite — and the results are incredible. The hand scraped floor technique they do is crazy — it adds a lot of richness into your home. I had this done in my den. Its made my office really earthy and inviting. I don’t want to leave it now !
