Solid place for xiao long baos. We got the xlb, beef noodle soup, bok choy, and salted duck. Xiao long baos were good, beef noodle soup wasn’t bad, and the duck wasn’t great (to be fair it was my friend’s choice).
After reading about the «sewer» smell we were pleasantly surprised not to smell anything bad on entering the place. About halfway through our meal though, my friend was like «What is that smell?» The stinky tofu cooking had commenced.

Got their mini wonton soup, delicious! Aldo got their XLB, stinky tofu, scallion pancake, cold noodle and pan fried buns. So far so delicious! And affordable!
Want to try their shanghai zongzi and shanghai rice cake next.
No MSG headache which makes this our new favorite place! Located in the food court so it isn’t really a fancy resturant. Perfect for lunch or dinner though. They are open from 11:30am to 9:30pm.

I honestly don’t know why this place has some five or four stars. If I could give zero stars, I would. The food is so bland, and I know that shanghai food are not very flavorful… But it shouldn’t be bland. it can be light… Not flavorless. The Sheng Jian bao, doesn’t taste good neither. As if the dough was under cooked.

So regretting that chose this location to have my dinner. Not gonna lie it’s packed here. But they only have one cashier also as the waitress running around. It took forever to get my food, I’m still waiting as writing this review. Hopefully the food turns out good. Also they ran out so many stuffs.

This place is awesome. Stacy, the main worker, is super nice and helpful with newbies to authentic Chinese food. We’ve had the Xia Long Bao, Beef Stew, Dan Dan noodles, brown noodles with pork and bok Choi, Rice Cake with sauce, chive pancake, pot stickers, crispy rice squares and lots of other stuff that I never new existed. All of it is delicious and it always feels like a fun adventure eating here. Thank you Stacy for being patient and helpful with us. This is a new favorite.

This place is ok. The setting is not the greatest as its in a food court and more for a very casual lunch/​dinner out. I’ve only been here for dinner at around 6:30pm and there were plenty of tables to choose from. However, they do fill up quick as they only have a section of the food court. I’m not sure if they can use the other tables as well.
Food wise — the xiao long bao is ok. I could live without ordering it as its not as juicy as I would like. The pan fried shanghai buns are bomb though. Crispy and much more juicy than the xiao long bao which is strange. The wonton soups are also very good. The wonton is a good size with lots of filling and the soup has a nice broth to it. I don’t think they put msg in the soup as my throat was just fine after eating it. The other dumplings are decent as well. I really want to try the pork pan cake but they are always out by the time we get there which I feel like its not even that late yet! Crazy. The stuffed pancake and the green onion pancake are also very good. I liked the stuffed one better cuz it has egg but the green onion one is also good and very crispy. They also have frozen dumplings you can buy to take home!
Overall — the price is cheap, atmosphere is super casual, and food is good. I will definitely come back again for the food and frozen items.

Very delicious food! Local taste. Their noodles is very very yummy. We always buy some frozen food when we leave. I love their stinky tofu. So yummy! The price is reasonable cheaper than most restaurants. It is located in a food court.

Wanted to take my grandma to eat some Shanghainese food but unfortunately my usual place closes on Thursday. So i checked out Unilocal and found this place. Such high review for a food court spot… a def must try in my book! Plus with my grandma as a critic, I’ll know for sure whether this place is legit or not.
We ordered: XLB, shrimp w pork wonton, SH pork zhongzi, egg yolk w pork zhongzi, stewed goat noodle soup, gluten w mushroom soup, veggies pot stick.
Felt a bit disappointed lol maybe my expectation was a bit high but as my grandma put it, don’t have such high expectation for food court: P the skin for XLB was a bit thick, the fillings in the wonton taste a bit under cooked.
On the upside the noodles from the stew was really good and the flavor of the soup was good as well. I don’t eat goat so didn’t have too much of it but would imagine if it was beef noodle soup it would be much better!!! Plus the service was awesome!
My grandma’s right don’t have a high expectation for food court!

We tried this place for the first time last night… So impressed with their food and service, small but superb! It is located inside the food court, nice area for Asian food lovers!

It is a hole in the wall. But the most legit Shanghai food around the area. Everything is very cheap and huge portion.

Parking space is easy on a week night. Note that parking entrance is in the parking lot with lots of stores, not part of the supermarket.
When I exited my car, there was a pungent odor. It smelled like sewer.
On a week night, I decided to take a look at the food court. Most of the other restaurants are empty. On the left side of the food court is Little Shanghai Restaurant. This place had lots of pre-​made buns and wrapped food on display on the table.
I decided to try its steamed napa and pork dumpling. The giant menu has pictures.
The tables are clean but I took my order togo. It is in a foam container lined with aluminum foil.
The dumplings were quite good.
If you are not a fan of stinky tofu, please hold your nose. This is on the menu. I don’t eat stinky tofu but I know many Asians love it. If you don’t understand the stinky tofu smell, you may mistaken it for sewer and stinky smell.

It’s on E Colima Rd and Baston Ave in Rowland Heights.
Warning: It’s in the left side of corner in the big shopping center. Somehow parking on the left side and on the right/​supermarket side aren’t connected. They have 2 entrances on Colima — if you took the one in front of supermarket, you can’t get to the left side of stores, where this place is located. Why do they need to separate them? Why we can’t go through to both side without going back to Colima?! Dumb.
Ambiance: It’s very strange and weird. They don’t have a proper storefront/​window for the restaurant/​shop. See my pictures. It’s in the big yet empty food court. They have big picture menus, which are very helpful, and the register podium. That’s it. It’s a very vague storefront, so kinda hard to find the spot. Lots of seating for the entire food court.
Service: Enough except for the weird setting.
Parking: Plenty. Warning — it’s located in the big shopping center,

Green onion pancake: The texture was great! Very crispy outside, not greasy, inside is moist and mushy. Very well cooked. The best one I’ve ever had around this area. Taste wise, I wish they seasoned more. The taste was bland, so you probably need soy sauce or siracha. I had a bit more flavorful one somewhere else, so wish they put more seasoning in it.
Shrimp & pork won ton soup: The soup was lukewarm, which I didn’t like. However, it tasted good. Lots of won ton in the soup. It wasn’t bad at all. I think they give you very decent taste quality and portion for the very inexpensive price. Not bad.
XLB: $ 4.95 for 8 pieces aren’t bad. The taste wasn’t bad. The skin was a bit too thick for my liking, yet it protected the soup inside well. I wish they were a bit hotter (temp wise).

The food wasn’t bad at all — especially for the very inexpensive price.
They give you portions, too. Surprisingly not bad.

There are a lot of chinese eateries in the area and this stands out as one of the best ones for a quick, tasty, authentic meal. They have the best beef noodle soup in the area. The broth is super flavorful, meat is tender, and the texture of the noodles is perfect.
We also had rice cakes with «chi» vegetable, which they make from the fresh vegetable. I’ve never seen that vegetable fresh at any restaurant or market. Super tasty.
Their marinated pigs feet was delicious and less than $ 3 for a small plate.
Don’t mind that it’s in a food court. The food is great and very reasonably priced.

Soup dumplings (and everything here) is so cheap! $ 4.95 for 8 dumplings! We had a party of 6 and we were all satisfied and full in the end :)
The soup dumplings (xiao long bao) should be a little a little hotter and have more soup… Buttt for the small price you pay, you can’t really ask for perfection haha.
The pan fried buns were also amazing. We took Unilocal advice and ordered it and it did not disappoint. Very hot and delicious. If you’re broke and wanna feast with other broke friends — Little Shanghai Restaurant is the place to be haha
The waitress was very nice and our order came out pretty quickly too!

Been passing by this food court for years, never thought anything could be good inside, well I was wrong, not sure about the other places in this food court, but this Shanghai restaurant is going to be my default place for Shanghai food from now on.
Pan fried buns– ⁵⁄₅ they make everything on the spot after its ordered, these buns are tasty and juicy when you bit into them, juices actually squirt everywhere, and the bottom is just the right crispness, unlike the ones I got from kang kang xiau mei the bottom is hardened on the grill from sitting for a long time when they made batches of it to sell. The skin is not too thick and not too thin just right for you to take it all in. 8 pieces for less then $ 5.95, this is bomb and a steal, a must try .
Steamed stinky tofu– ⁵⁄₅ I am a stinky tofu fan, I get it and try it every where I go, I must say this is by far the best stinky tofu I have had, I love the steamed type, however it’s hard to find here in US and OMG was I glad when I saw this on their menu, it’s the stinkiest tofu I have had, my friend could not take the aroma and had to cover her nose, I was in heaven chowing this down with edmame and their own chopped fine pickled cabbage, the soup is also the best part of it. This item is less then $ 5 I also call it a steal and if you love stinky tofu you must try it, however this is not for the faint hearted .
XLB — ³⁄₅ this is not bad, but it’s not awesome like the other items, buns are also juicy, however I didn’t think it was tasty and the skin is a bit dry after a few minutes sitting on the table, but the price can’t be beat I believed it’s around $ 4.95 and for 8 pieces.
Marinated Bean Dough-​5/​5 this is a common cold dish, and has been my favorite since I was a kid, they make them warm here instead of a cold dish, the taste is good $ 4.95 for a good portion.
Marinated Pork Shank (topping size) — ⁵⁄₅ meat was tender and flavorful, for a topping size $ 3.50 you get plenty which was a good deal.
I am coming back to try all the other items on the menu, and they do have a lot to offer, I am glad I finally came and tried this place, definitely recommend it.

Nothing is too amazingly good or bad.
Parking: A large parking lot outside the restaurant. It is free of charge to park in the plaza. Don’t mistakenly park in the next door plaza for the supermarket!
Food: Steamed stinky tofu is soooo stinky! I could barely eat it because of the bad smell… It tasted ok. Wonton was delicous. I also ordered Fried buns which are average in taste.
Ambience: The restaurant is located inside a food court. There are several tables. One thing i have to mention is that while i was dining, a cockroach climbed onto my leg!
Price: $-$$. Not expensive.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!
I love it so much I almost didn’t want to Unilocal about it to keep it a secret. haha :) I come here for mainly ONE THING: PAN FRIED BUN (sheng jian bao). It is the best I’ve ever had– even better than Kang Kang IMO. The outside is fried to perfection with sesame seeds and is so crunchy! The inside is bursting with juice from the meat, so be careful– it may be hot inside and you may burn your lip like I did!
Other items are mediocre (dan dan noodle, beef noodle), so I had to dock a star.

Decided to give this place a try after reading the The Best Dumplings in Los Angeles by Serious Eats article stating that this was the runner up spot for best Xiao Long Baos (second to din tai fungi).
Well first and foremost, good luck finding this place. Little Shanghai is tucked away in the food court of a small plaza across the plaza of where Hong Kong Super Market is located at. Look for the big «food court» sign in a castle like building. Once you walk in, it’s right to your left.
Moving on, service wise… it’s okay. The ladies here are very busy and definitely not enough waitress to customer ratio. A bunch of older asian ladies are buying the buns/​bao/​dumplings and other delicacies in bulk, so it’s hard to order from the menu when they’re busy doing togo orders.
Anyhow, my bf and I each ordered the beef noodle soup (him with regular noodles/​me with vermicelli) and shared an order of the Xiao Long Baos.
The beef noodle soup was good… but the flavor lacked a bit. The broth had a nice delicate flavor, but I was craving for more. I also wished they gave a little more meat. My bf said his pieces were too tough, but I got tender pieces. Overall it was okay, I did enjoy the pickle radish/​greens that they served the noodle with.
As of the XLB. they were meh. For me the skin/​wrapper was just too think and the soup ratio was sad. HOWEVER, it is cheap so. if you’re craving for something quick, I would recommend those here.
they also have stinky tofu, which lots of patrons ordered. so if that is your thing, maybe check it out.

Great tasting food at low prices! Location wise it’s a little odd because it’s inside the food court but they come take your order and serve you.
Beef stew with vermicelli. Their broth is on point and very flavorful.
Green onion pancakes. Looks are deceiving but it was so frkin tasty, crispy and the thickness was perfect.
Shanghai rice cakes. Delish and texture of the rice cakes was chewy enough!
Shanghai pan fried noodles. Smelled and tasted soo good.
Service is excellent! They saw my dad spilled his tea and immediately came to give us extra napkins.
