I actually liked L&L a lot. I prefer it over Aloha and most other Hawaiian BBQ places. However, with that being said this location is just average to me. The short ribs were quite tender and the flavoring was really good. Way better than Aloha. However the service here was super slow and the quality of everything else wasn’t up to par. I was very disappointed because I really wanted to like this place a lot. Its located inside the Puente Hills mall inside the food court. That right there should have been a warning sign to me but sometimes mall food isn’t too bad and realistically it wasn’t that bad, but not good either. My friend had something with spam and thought that too was just bland and super greasy. The prices weren’t too bad but at Aloha I paid the same amount for more portions so that was really a bummer for me. Maybe its just this location. The portions aren’t as big as I thought and usually its quite a lot. Overall its a nice place but I probably wouldn’t get L&L at a food court inside the mall ever again. It was a last minute thing.

Ive never been served so little from a hawaiian bbq place. I paid 13 dollars for a seafood combination plate(shrimp and bbq chicken) and got 3 small shrimp, a half serving of chicken(compared to other hawaiian l&l), and a poor tasting macaroni salad. Then when i asked for a bigger sauce container, the guy who took my order was upset and said he normally charges for them. What?

True Story. I had a ramen burger here. And it wasn’t horrible. The End.

The worst L&L Hawaiian BBQ I have ever been to. The MAC salad is not the same taste or color, teriyaki sauce is soooooo watered down, wait time for your food is too long and taste of the chicken was dry as if they cooked it several times. Just to order was a hassle, should have walked away at that point. Lady at the register was nice though.

Hands down LL is the best fast food Hawaiian chain. This place will not disappoint. Beware their portion size is huge. Might want to think of ordering the mini version of whatever plate you get unless you’re super hungry our sharing. Enjoy!

i usually stop by the food court before heading downstairs to watch a movie. cause only chumps buy $ 10 paper bags of popcorn(may not be actual price) when you can be munching on a spam masubi instead! what i ate: — spam masubi: how can you go wrong with spam masubi! oh, the glory of spam! oh wait, is my korean showing? yes, we korean love spam, and rice, and seaweed, so how could i not enjoy the perfection of spam masubi? i also like that the masubis here are individually wrapped in saran wrap. keeps everything nice and tight and easy to eat while i watch my movie. — sausage masubi: a nice alternative the the spam. salty, yummy, savory. — chicken katsu mini plate: small plate with one scoop of rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and chicken katsu. so, i wasnt a total fan. the chicken katsu was oily, with more breading than meat. the macaroni salad was watery. pros: — inside the food court at the puente hills mall. easy to stop by and grab a snack before watching a movie. — individually wrapped masubis! unlike ono across the street, the masubi are just single, so you don’t feel the fatty status of the double masubis from ono. — price is right. not expensive — made fresh right after ordering — sriracha available(which they don’t at ono’s) cons: — chicken katsu! i think i’ve been eating at ono(across the street from the mall) way too much and was disappointed by L&L’s version. too oily, and very little chicken meat! — wait time for food can be long. on the bright side they make it right when you order it would i come again? no, probably not. maybe for a spam masubi if i was peckish. i’d much rather go to ono’s across the street!

Usually L&L is sooo good, but for some reason, this one isn’t… Got hungry roaming the mall, so I went with L&L, a brand I know and trust to be great tasting Hawaiian food. Surprisingly and shockingly, this L&L is sub-par. I’m not used to L&L tasting like this or having this bad of food quality. Ramen Burger($ 5.95) The picture looks AMAZING. However, when you get it, the ramen is not only small, but it’s SOGGY. It welted away so that picking up the burger was nearly impossible. The ramen is supposed to be hard and dry, so you get that taste like you were eating raw ramen straight of the bag. Nope. Towards the end of the burger, I had to eat it with a fork because the noodles completely fell apart. BBQ Chicken Bowl($ 5.49) The Chicken Bowl was actually not bad. They do put a lot of teriyaki sauce(even when I asked for light sauce). Reasonably priced, and the Chicken Bowl is probably the only thing saving this from being rated one star. Katsu Musubi Dry. Small. Unsatisfying. Pass I’m not going to let this L&L stop me from going to the others that I’ve grown to love. I just won’t be coming back to THIS one. ever.

I ordered a snack so I thout l&l would b a perfect fit prior to watchin a movie. I ordered a single katsu musubi. Service was poor at 2pm. My musubi was sittin wrapped on the counter but the cashier wasnt payin attention. In fact, he even went to get change for the till without evn lookin to see if orders were up. I waited 20min for my musubi. That was 8min after the last order was picked up. Worse, I wasnt provided any tonkatsu sauce to dip my chicken musubi in. Dry as heck! Would I come again? No. I want to support a franchise, but with service lyk tday’s, sorry. Gluck stayin in biz. I’ll hit tacos mexico since service is friendly n faster

The guy that works here hates his job/life here. Don’t expect ANY type of service. Mcdonalds has friendlier employees. Besides that the food is OK. Nothing great. Other L&L locations are better.

Since I could remember ever coming to the mall, L&L has been my go to place. I usually order their BBQ mix or BBQ chicken mix. Although their prices can be a little high I am still content with my meal.

WORST L&L I’ve been to! The food wasn’t nearly as good as the other locations, the drinks fridge is filthy. BB ate the food without complaint(well, it’s Hawaiian BBQ, he doesn’t complain about that stuff) but mentioned the katsu was dry and the worst he’d had.(As this is coming from a mild-mannered guy who adores Hawaiian BBQ, it generally translates to steer clear for the rest of us.)

I’ve never liked L&L until I ordered something from this establishment. I’ve been addicted ever since and I refuse to go to any other L&L besides this one. JK, but this place is really cool and amazing. So it’s located in Puente Hills Mall and probably never get any business which I feel bad about and there’s only 2 reviews =(. I always, always get the chicken katsu plate. It’s amazing and their katsu sauce is never watered down which is a plus! I love the mac salad and when I ordered a side of mac salad, they gave me a whole mini box of it! That is DOPE!!! When I ordered a mac salad side at an L&L in Irvine, they only gave me a scoop on a tray and bagged it all ghettofied which sucked. Just writing this is killing me, I’m starving. If only they were open right now…

YUCKY!!! This is the worst L&L I have EVER eaten at. I’m from Hawaii and the food is not tasty. We had loco moco’s to boot and it was horrible. How can you mess up loco moco’s!!! Gravy was funky and mac salad was watery and taste-less. Won’t be eating at this location again.

Probably the only place I’d be willing to eat at the food court. GOOD: It’s L&L. I’m not sure whether the chicken portions are bigger here or if the box is just smaller. BAD: The price is about 50 cents higher than elsewhere. And there’s no Kalua Pork option. FAV: Mini Chicken Katsu $ 6.52 1-star: I’ve had hemorrhoids more pleasant than this. 2-star: I would rather avoid this place. 3-star: On par with other similar establishments. 4-star: Will return as often as possible. 5-star: I refuse to find a better place.
