I been coming here for years man, after gettin swole at the gym, I go straight here for dat happy bowl with chow mayne and orange chicken. Sometimes the orange chicken is crunchy and I don’t like that man. It has its goods and bads. But I still love yall.

Honestly, ramen is good, really like the thin noodle(default), yummy! But good thing stops there… For the rest of the orders, sesame chicken had no sesame chicken taste at all, fresh fried tempura plate came out with soggy shrimp along with fried veggies(eggplant, sweet patato, bean, etc) not even cooked thru yet, were all super hard. Service was pretty bad, pretty much all the waiters are just in groups chatting away. While ordering, I asked if I could have my ramen a little bit spicy, I was rudely asked to refer to the menu… Makes me wonder if I was here for an quiz or something, geez. Although the ramen itself isn’t bad, but seems like other items on the menu customers need to take chances on(good luck guys!), along with poor customer service, not likely to revisit anytime soon.

Been coming here since I was a baby. You can’t beat their chow mein and tangerine chicken. It’s crazy good. So good that my dad who now lives in West Covina will drive all the way over here because this is the only Chinese food he will eat! Just be careful with the fried rice sometimes it’s too greasy. There’s a Hispanic woman who works there who serves the best portions. She will take care of you.

My guilty pleasure since high school. Gotta get the tangerine chicken. You have to ask for a fortune cookie otherwise they won’t give it to you.

Worst customer service, chow mien is dry and orange chicken was hard & chewy. Teriyaki chicken was decent. NOFLAVOR

I quit this place because: 1. the food is too oily 2. the place doesn’t look sanitary 3. limited vegetarian/vegan options. However they do serve big portions at a cheap rate if that is what you are looking for.

happy wok is the best comfort food. you get to lather your mouth with grease and still love yourself afterward. just got out of a bad relationship? happy wok. someone call you fat? happy wok. fail a midterm? happy wok. not enough money to pay your bills? happy wok. trust me. happy wok is your friend. prices are low. portions are big and generous. its not unhealthy food as they are constantly cooking fresh vegetables and meats. happy wok is one of the first chinese food restaurants to exist and survive in rowland heights. before all the asian folks came to rowland, happy wok was here. i hope to be able to bring my future kids here when they are able to enjoy fatty foods. i always get the potato chicken or broccoli beef [depends which is available], kung pao chicken, and chow mein. my tongue is very sensitive to MSG and i don’t have a reaction to their food, so i believe there isn’t too much MSG in or oversalt their food. its a family owned store with the restaurant owner pop in the back with the mom in the front. she might not speak english real well, but she knows the Chinese way of service. they always have siracha on the tables so thats just. so sweet of them. thank you for that, happy wok.

The food is so good and the portions are awesome! I love their chow mein and their tangerine chicken. Much better than Panda Express!

Worst place ever… Stop by on my way to work and ordered the shrimp chow mein to go. Opened it up and noticed it didn’t look right, still I went ahead and tried to eat it when I took the first bite I bit into a hard burnt what I think was chow mein.(Gross) so I decided to still give it one more shot. I took a bite of a shrimp that tasted weird and was rubbery/over cooked, after that I was completely grossed out and disappointed and threw the whole thing in the trash.(what a waste of my money) With being that I was at work already I couldn’t go back and complain… This is the first and the last time I will ever visit this place!

I discovered this place 4-years ago when i was living in the Rowland Heights area. 1) It’s one of the best fast-food Chinese restaurants out there. 2) 2-combo plate with a small soda is around $ 8.75 out the door… Not bad since they’re generous with their portions :) 3) They accept debit card but there’s a $ 1 charge last time i checked, silly business move, but still worth it. If you’re ever near Rowland Heights, this place is located off Colima rd(kind of hidden among other eateries) get of the Fairway exit & the 60 frwy, it’s next to Subway and in the same town center area as McDonald’s.

Ok I had to review a Chinese fast food place since I banged on Ootoro and their clientele on the last review. Food is fast always ready and consistent, I go there to get chow mein when i feel like eating sriracha hot sauce. They don’t water down the sauce.

Happy Wok has been my place for chicken bowls and orange chicken almost all my life. When I was little the Samurai House was right next door and their teriyaki chicken was slightly better, but they have been gone for years and Happy Wok is still going strong. Even though Happy Wok has been part of my life as long as I can remember they are by no means the best. It is often a hit or miss with the food. Sometimes it is awesome and fresh, sometimes its mushy and cold. Sometimes they over serve, other times they are more than stingy. Sometimes they are incredibly rude, other times they are super friendly. If I’m lazy and don’t feel like driving for my bowl I will go to Happy Wok, that is unless it is within an hour of closing than nothing would make me go there. That close to closing they don’t make fresh and you are stuck with whatever leftovers they have.

Chinese fast food. Enough said. Portions are big. I recommend sharing. I decided to get the 2 combo entrée. And kinda regret it. I was hungry when I walked in so my stomach clouded my judgment. This place compares to Panda Express but better. I like the chow mein and kung pao chicken is pretty good.

3 stars for: good food + horrible service! I’m Asian and have experienced this overall awful service in these type of restaurants for the last 21 years! This is definite comfort home food for me personally, but the awful service kills it! I’m all about customer service and bad service absolutely dampens the overall food experience– which totally sucks! Most of the servers are always in a rush, impatient and rude– whatever that gets the bucks! It’s a shame cuz it’s like this majority of all Rowland Heights restaurants and the people around. Is the culture?! Perhaps. It’s almost all of those that are older that are this way. Love the food, but deters me away from here due to the avoidance of such energy.

My gf’s favorite«guilty pleasure.» Although the place is not super clean and is lacking in «atmosphere,» the chow mein and tangerine chicken are FANTASTIC. This place blows all other«imitation Chinese» fast food restaurants out of the water. There is a reason why this place has stayed in business for so long — they give generous portions for a good price. Try to catch the«mini combo» special in the afternoon. In my experience, the fried rice can be on the dry side, so I ask for chow mein only. Also, parking near Yogurtland is usually better and less cramped.

Awesome place, great food and huge portions, which, for the price you pay is really good. Tangerine chicken is my favorite item on the menu and the BBQ pork is pretty darned good too. Parking can suck because it’s a shared lot with a ton of other establishments but it’s never too crowded and I’m in and out pretty quick. Esp if you call in your order.

Dirty tables, dirty grounds, tangerine chicken should be called tangerine chicken jerky. The chicken was extremely hard. I’m fine with it being over battered. The chicken was so hard that, my plastic fork wouldn’t get the darn chicken. One star for chow mein. Another for portion size.

I often come to Happy Wok when I want my quick fast food Chinese fix since I live less than 1 mile away from this location. This is located in a strip mall so it’s kind of hard to find if your not looking for it. The dining room has enough tables and seating, because most people take out. I cannot judge this place on other reviews, health code violations or unsanitary habits because I have yet to see or witness myself of any apparent misconduct. In my experiences they have just as good health regulations as anybody else you can’t see behind doors. Either way they are still up and running! If your in the area and want the best bang for your buck on fast food Chinese come here! It’s cheaper than panda express and they are overly gracious and generous in the serving size they give you. I love their chow mein ! Thick and soft but not mushy, the orange chicken can get overly breaded with few chicken in the middle sometimes but it’s seasoned well with a tiny kick to it! Service is always quick and friendly this place would have earned 2 stars. But the fact that it’s cheap +1 and they overload your takeout tray every time that’s another +1. Until they start being skimpy or raise there prices. I’ll still be a regular here :)
