Very very friendly service. Run by a woman and she’s very nice. HOWEVER this place by far is the dirtiest place I’ve ever seen. I kno cuz I use to work there. There’s so many things she does that is so disgusting. She would keep a dog in her kitchen. Absolutly disgusting!

I love this place! It’s run by one woman and it’s like coming home and having your mom cook for you. My fave is the kimchee fried rice! It also comes with ban chan. This place is in a food court at the Galleria Korean market. Give it a try!

Just wow. I just ran across this place because I was looking for ddeokbbokki but it turned out to be a great experience. The wait was the only long part, but it came out deliciously. Besides that, the lady that was working by herself, I think, was just extremely the nicest person I came across dealing with customers. It was just a great experience overall, I really recommend this place. Definitely will come again!

Hanamdong is inside the Koreatown Galleria Rowland Heights location next to a Japanese restaurant. Together, they make up a little food court area. They carry typical Korean food court items of BBQ, soup, and basic Korean dishes. They have some food court style seatings for you. The food is reasonably priced and they give you a big portion, 4 sides and a soup. I ended up ordering the kimchi bokkuembap or kimchi fried rice. I couldn’t even finish half the plate and had to end up taking the rest home. It actually didn’t taste that amazing because it really lacked hot pepper paste. I did really enjoy the sides and their big bowl of soup. I’m not sure what kind of soup it is but it’s a brown broth is crispy rice on top. It’s amazing. The service is good. The ladies don’t speak English very well but they are really nice. They also have free hot tea and iced water available that you can help yourself to.

I haven’t wrote a review in so long… I guess I’ll start here and work my way through all my other check-ins. HONESTLY, there’s only like…3 reviews so it’s FREAKING biased by EVERYONE. SO here’s my two cents :) I’ve been here since they were some other restaurant so it might be a mixture of reviews but I was here PRETTY recently. I tried their«kong gook soo» which is soy bean noodles, on a hot summer day this is the BEST! For the first timers you may not agree because it’s REALLY thick and the«soybean» soup may surprise you but trust me once you get the feel of how to eat it it’s beyond AMAZING! :D Jolmyun I’m not a fan so I don’t even bother to order NOT a lot of Korean restaurants KNOW how to make it right and PLUS it’s not this restaurant’s SPECIALTY so I don’t know why people be trippen. ehh whatever floats there boat :) My mom also to-gos their soups, yes it’s like authentic Korean dishes but you know you HAVE to give it a try to say whether you like it or not but their Squid soup was pretty BOMB. *warning* it was pretty spicy. OH! a menu that I KNOW everyone can enjoy is their shrimp fried rice, it tastes HOME-MADE :) I love… mmm… I’ve tried so many other things but I’ll update when I remember. The place is VERY small it’s more like a kiosk than a RESTAURANT and usually it’s family owned. I love this place and I do have a soft spot for the small family owned restaurants. What is Unilocal about? HELPINGLOCALBUSINESSES. I was raised in rowland heights so I SORTA rep it. Give this place a try, it’s inside, what now is called… i have no clue but it’s a market… I can’t even say it’s workers that work there it’s more like family members that work there and they are so kind and friendly. It just has a warm feel when you go there to eat. I always get so skeptical when my fellow Unilocalers haven’t reviewed the place but you have to try it in order to know the place. :) I’d recommend it for some good ol korean food. It’s hard to find GOOD decent priced korean food in rowland!!!

What are these people thinking?! Usually, kitchen staff tend to pride themselves in cleanliness, promptness, and good home cooking. I got none of those three. First of all, when people go eat at a restaurant they trust that the kitchen staff is doing their best to create delicious food safely and sanitarily. Having a DOG in the kitchen is NOT sanitary. You could possibly get your restaurant shut down doing something like that. Just because you have it chained and hidden in the corner does not make it okay. Leave your dog at home while you’re working, please.(Especially if your dog isn’t supposed to be there.) The fact that the lady who was just preparing my food came out with the dog hidden behind a dog bed was appalling. Second, it does not take 35 minutes to serve jolmyun. And the noodles weren’t even cooked the way through. It shouldn’t take you 35 minutes to boil some noodles, slice up some cabbage, and drizzle the gotchujang sauce over it. Third, the jolmyun was extremely sour? She put way too much vinegar into the noodles. Normally, I just eat what is given to me as long as it’s edible, but this was beyond edible. I took all of three bites, paid, and left. Never again Hanamdong. I’m not down to consume anything with dog hair.

I love their deep friend pepper a lot. But most of their deep fried stuff is pretty good. I also like their beef bone soup. Very tasty and not too salty. I think the food is great and the price is reasonable.

If I’m grabbing food inside the Galleria Market, it’s usually the place next to this place where I’m getting abalone porridge. We were walking by after our nengmyun meal and not really sure what else to eat then we saw the soondae and tteokbokki combo for $ 8.95 sign. The picture looked really good so we decided to try it out. I asked the ajumma working there if she can hook me up with some liver along with our soondae. She was cool and said no problem! That made me really happy; I love liver. When the tteokbokki came out, it wasn’t as red as it looked in the picture and wasn’t very spicy. Missing was the hard boiled egg in the picture. However, since we got hooked up with liver, we decided to call it even. It wasn’t too bad. The soondae was average at best and the liver crumbled like cookie. At least we got to satisfy 3 of our Korean food needs with one order. A-OK seems just right.

Stopped here to eat a quick lunch after some grocery shopping. Nothing like an ice cold bowl of mool nyueng myun on a warm summer day. You order and pay at the counter, the water and mushroom tea are self serve. After a short wait, my noodles along with three banchaan were brought out to me. The owner asked if I knew how to eat it and then offered to cut the noodles for me. She warned me to taste the soup first before adding more vinegar. The soup was a touch salty, but overall still cold, tangy and refreshing. The meat was very tender due to its marbling and thin slicing. My only complaint would be the ice cubes used to cool the soup. I prefer finely crushed ice since it can absorb the broth better, but that’s is hard to find. Although none was brought to me, I think spicy mustard is available if you wanted some heat. The cook, later came to check on me and asked if I wanted more. I assume she meant the banchaan since I had finished all of them. I thanked her and told her I was full. Overall, very friendly service, average to above average food at great prices!
