Got the ribs this time. Great fall off the bone. Fried chicken was good. All the sides were good except maybe the fries. But what places really sell good fries?

Well, live and learn Was craving fried chicken and didn’t want to drive downtown. Mistake #1 Salad bar was looking like it had been under heat lamps, tasted like it too– Mistake averted Fried chicken wasn’t what we expected. Very bland, and obviously not made in house. - Very pleased we only stopped here because we were in the area and didn’t drive here just to have dinner.

The only place for miles that has a 4AM liquor license! Last call at 3:45, grab a drink and head into the restaurant that is attached but separated from the bar area. They actually have great food. I love their steak sandwich which has grilled onions and served on garlic bread. Grab the mozzarella sticks as a side and you’re GTG. Chicken fingers were really good too. They only have the sandwiches and appetizers portions on the menu available after 9PM, which was a bummer when I tried to get fried chicken at 3AM. Don’t come here expecting to be in and out for a late night meal though. It regularly takes about 20 minutes for them to prepare the food because its fresh and they only have one cook on duty and the place will be packed on late night weekends. All in all, you can’t go wrong here.

Awesome Fried Chicken!!! Very Crispy and Fresh… not soaked in Oil/Grease…you can tell that the oil is changed regularly and just for the Chicken!!! Breaded mushrooms, Gyros and Breakfast are very good here too!!!

The best fried chicken anywhere… bar none even better then Harold s chicken shack. For u South siders. lol. my gf. aka chicken finger queen… said the chicken fingers are the best too. If u don’t like a whole lot of breading they Other good eats. The ribs. The poppers too. like the other reviews said the sides are ok… And the beer is cheap too… which is nice… :)

We stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon. We were encouraged to try the buffet. The chicken was fantastic and so was the Cole slaw. Everything else was clearly sitting out awhile. The mashed potatoes and macaroni were not good at all. If I went back, I’d maybe just order chicken to go and get sides elsewhere.

Not the classiest place for sure, but man oh man the chicken is awesome. Their sides leave something to be desired but who cares… the chicken is awesome. The service in the restaurant is pretty attentive and very nice. Did I mention the chicken is awesome? They have a late night bar group but the customers don’t seem to like new people and kind of made us feel uncomfortable the one time we were in there. Check this place out for their chicken, and my gal likes the rib tips too.

I grew up in the area and used to go to Richard’s for the buffet. I am inclined to believe that the food has gone downhill and is not the best chicken you can get. The reason I write this review is that Richard’s is actually more recently known for its very late night bar hours in the sports bar. Richard’s is actually on the Round Lake Heights side of Rollins and good old Illinois lets every municipality choose its own alcohol serving hours. The Heights(being a micro town ala Park City) allows bars to serve until 3am Sun-Thurs and 4am Friday and Saturday. Between 3am-4am, the bar(being attached to the restaurant as an addition) is actually considered«outside» and everyone still there has to move inside the restaurant. Dunno if that’s still the case, but getting everyone inside for only one more hour of pounding drinks is definitely an interesting experience. I have been a few times over the last few years and it is an interesting crowd as the hours go on. This is obviously the last stop in the night for most and most people are pretty drunk by the end. They have a pool table and a few games. All in all, if you’re a late night bar chaser looking for that last stop, this place isn’t bad. Drinks are quite strong. Tip: Watch for the RLH po-po when you leave. They are exceptionally aggressive in pulling people over for suspected DUI.
