We ordered Mack’s to feed 8 adults, had them deliver. They were right on time, everything arrived that was ordered, and they even help set out the containers. Excellent BBQ, will definitely order from them again.

These guys are literally smoking meat all day-​everyday! It’s inside the city of fate’s little gas station grocery store so not really the place you go to sit and eat but it’s Amazing! Take a sandwich in the go or order a few pounds of meat and sides to take home – either way it’s Fantastic BBQ and there is tons of BBQ out in the Rockwall-​Fate area so just know – Mack’s is the BEST

We give it a 3.9, Prompt service… BUT the baked potato (see my video) was cold. Like bone chilling. What made up for it was the RIBS AND BRISKET! OMG! Was very flavorful and tender, but also cold sadly. I’m going to say the temperature was due to the fact we came at 8. But they closed at 9:30 so that’s really not an excuse, will try them again earlier during the day and update the review.

The ribs were burnt and luke warm, the brisket not very flavorful, I needed the bbq sauce to give it some life. The beans and potato salad were the best part, but not enough to get me coming back.

OK, I had my doubts. This place is a back counter in a gas station. But we were hungry and this looked like the only place around. What a great surprise. We both ordered the brisket plate and we both brought half of it home. A lot to eat and it was genuinely good.
Not sure when I will be back in Fate but I will certainly stop here again!

AMAZING! Don’t get fooled that it’s in a gas station. Best BBQ I have ever had. I was visiting from Arizona so out of towners head HERE. Was with some locals and they loved it. Burrito and Ribs were perfect. Done from a real smoker.

Macks is a small little dive in the back of a gas station, but it’s the real deal. The brisket tacos are great and that damn loaded baked potato is rediculously delish !!! Homemade coleslaw is some of the best I’ve ever had as well. If you are in the area you gotta hit em’ up.

Killer spare ribs… only downside was you can’t drink beer because it’s in a gas station.
Do not cab it to this place, it’s in the middle of nowhere and getting a ride out proved to be impossible.

Customer service is amazing, you can’t get better southern comfort. Totally welcoming, happy to be there and excited to help you find your favorite! I loved the brisket sandwich with coleslaw, pickle, onions and a mouth watering bbq sauce. I will definitely be going back! And they deliver!

The food is really good and staff is always friendly. The chopped beef sandwich is delicious as well as the sausage and brisket.
My complaint is the Website! Needs to be updated. Coupon on website is 4 years old. Hours of operation are not as posted. I have called for delivery at least four times by the hours of delivery from website, but no one was available to deliver.

One star reflects the fact I never got to try their food. Why? Because they were not open during the hours posted on their own website. The website says they open at 9:30, so I went out of my way to stop on the way to DFW. When I arrived I was disappointed to find they were not going to open for hours. As a traveller, I count on and expect businesses to keep their websites current. If they don’t know when they are open, how can I? They may have great BBQ, but I will never know. In 2014 a business should know people find them online and expect accurate online information on their own website.

Love the brisket tacos here plain and simple! Don’t be scared that they are in the back of a gas station. I would give 5 stars if they started serving some awesome cobbler or something to go with. Also, depending on who is working my tacos are either perfect or a little too on the fatty side. I don’t like fat in my tacos at all. My husband normally makes the taco run and if the wrong person is working he just gets his diet coke and leaves now and we do something else. We have a system.

I want to give Mack’s 5 stars because we love their Bbq and get it about 2 – 3 times a month. We are from KC and have pretty high standards for bbq and think Mack’s is usually great! But the past few times we have ordered, the food was lukewarm or cold, as if it came out of the fridge. We will probably keep ordering bc the taste is great, but they need to adjust to be able to keep up with more customers or else they will lose loyal customers.

Bleh. All I can say is that people in fate need to get out more often if this is what they call 5 star BBQ. The BBQ was lukewarm and it had some flavor but not much. I’ve had stuff that was essentially roast beef with liquid smoke on it and it was better than that so I won’t give it one star but I’ve had better BBQ at Spring Creek.

Had Mack’s cater a party for my family and friends for the second time. As usual it was excellent. The food arrived on time and the guy who delivered it helped set everything up. The food was EXCELLENT. This is simply the best BBQ in this part of Texas. I would put their brisket up against the best joints from Central Texas. Just really good food. You cannot say you have had the best Q in the metroplex unless you have stopped by Mack’s.

Mack’s has the best barbecue in Rockwall County — hands down! First time I tried their pulled pork sandwich and it was incredible. I’ve been back repeatedly and everything — from the pulled pork to the ribs to the chopped beef brisket is absolutely great.
The service is fast and friendly. Don’t let the surroundings fool you — some of the best barbecue comes from places that don’t look so great, and the food at Mack’s qualifies as «some of the best» in my opinion.
I gotta get my Mack’s fix on a regular basis or my stomach’s just not happy.
