Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop

As a vegetarian i am a big fan of the old menu item «very vegi» at this location which includes cucumber and avocado with everything on it (you can still order it). This location is THE BEST mr. Pickles in the area. Nicest staff who will go out of their way to make you happy, and i always get fresh avocados unlike some other locations. At this location they really make sure you are taken care of. If you’re a mr pickles lover COME TO THIS LOCATION!

I’ve had catered subs from here before, but this was the first time I actually went there. The free cookie was a nice dessert for my sub, however I do wish I had thought to order extra meat since I ordered the sub with only turkey and mustard and there wasn’t much inside the bun at that point. Still when our company got subs here I think they added the extra meat and I had cheese and it was always good. Staff was polite. Just have to remember to add extra meat! =)

Never lets me down delicious sammies, quick and easy. They are really generous with the proportions, my sandwhich is always layered evenly and nicely. If you want à hearty sandwich with fresh quality ingredients Mr. Pickles is where it’s at.

Great sandwiches and super staff. Always enjoy the food and a free chocolate chip cookie doesn’t hurt!

Really tasty sandwiches made really quickly. Friendly staff too. They ran out of cucumber and gave me ham when I asked for salami. Not that big of a deal because the sandwich was extremely tasty. I will definitely be coming here from now on instead of safeway or subway.

How could this mr pickles be so bad in comparison to the one down the street? My turkey sandwich was super salty; bread, meat and all! However service was good. The guys greeted me and were kind when taking my order. But not coming back here again because salty sandwich, sticking to the one with bad service down the street.

Stopped in again today at 1:30 pm to buy a couple sandwiches. Same as last time, the counter staff didn’t even look up (except for one guy that was gazing off in what appeared to be a trance). No greeting, no sense of urgency resulted in me leaving and going to Safeway to get a couple fresh made sandwiches in short order.
Foolishly, I thought they might be reading these posts but evidently, not.

8−1−14 This place sucks… Poor service, the only attendant was not courteous or friendly. Didn’t wear a name tag and had dirty clothes. We watched her make the sandwiches and noticed she didn’t put tomatoes on them. After we paid for the expensive sandwiches, we asked her about it and she said they were out. she would have given us the sandwiches without telling us she didn’t put tomatoes on them.
she had an attitude like it was our fault that we didn’t like that they didn’t have tomatoes and that she didn’t bother to tell us even while we paid.
We asked for something in place of the tomatoes and she said no.
Do not go to this Mr. pickle’s

Great sandwiches and very fresh produce. Over twenty specialty sandwiches, five specialty salads and a daily soup. Very supportive of the community — check out the many team pictures (club sports and local high schools). Great counter help!

I was so thrilled to see this location open. A lot of reviews are confusing this location with the one lower on Sunset, near Starbucks. That location is owned by someone who is not subject to the franchise regulations. And it’s horrible. THIS location is GREAT! The sandwiches are always fresh, the staff is always incredibly friendly and efficient and the owner/​manager is there almost every time I’m in. And they give out fresh cookies with your sandwich. It’s a completely different experience and I recommend this location!

I go here all the time and will let everyone know that this is a GREAT place to grab a sandwhich. I am specifically talking about the Mr Pickles next to California Family Fitness. Fantastic! The sandwhich makers are always super fast and extremely friendly. Its always the same people too (in the past year or so), so the owners must be treating them right! The reviews below HAVE TO be for the one down the street (which I will agree, sucks donkey balls)
Ive probably ordered 5 different sandwhichs and all came out well. PLUS they give you a free cookie with the sandwhich order, whaaaaatttt? :) The other Mr Pickles dont do that. Another huge thing for me is that everything is super clean! Ive been to maybe 5 different Mr Pickles in varying areas and they usually look worn and run down. This one looks fresh and clean and doesnt make me think twice about the people who are preparing what Im about to chow down on.
LOVE IT!

A couple of things people should know…
1) This location recently moved from basically another building same area.
2) There is another location down/​across the street (Starbucks parking lot)… that one doesnt appear to be a REAL Mr. Pickles. So the bad reviews are probably actually THAT one… not this one. Please check out Mr. Pickles website:

This one is excellent. you walk in and the guy knows your name if you’re a regular. they support local schools and seems to be pretty involved in the community.

This place is great!!! I order from this Mr. Pickles whenever I get a chance. I have been coming to this location for 6 months. I recommend this location to all of my family and friends. The staff is great and they support our local community.

Great sandwich shop! I’ve always enjoyed this place. Just moved down the road and this place will definitely be visited more often now that I am closer. I would eat here over a subway any day. Was even a hit with my daughter :).

There seems to be some confusion on location here and a lot of the negative reviews are for the store located about a mile up the road. This location has only been open a year and change. I’ve always had a good experience here and have nothing but good things to say. I go to this location about once a week and have never had an issue.

Most sandwich shops would not warrant the effort of writing a Unilocal review. However, this Mr. Pickles location was absolutely terrible for three reasons:
1. My bread was soaked. Soggy. Like it had been placed in a large puddle of water. Gross.
2. The contents of the sandwich lacked flavor and freshness. If it weren’t for other Mr. Pickles locations that I have been to I would think this was the norm. The contents of this sandwich must have been sitting out for at least a week. For a $ 9 sandwich that is not okay.
3. The employees… questionable…
4. (but not as important) the type of customers this location seems to attract. Again, questionable. I should have taken this as my cue to leave.
Overall, not worth your ~$ 10 for a sandwich. Even if you feel like Mr. Pickles, find somewhere else. This location should be avoided at all costs. I’d actually prefer the McDonald’s two minutes down the road.
(If this is the one right next to Starbucks, then this is the location I am reviewing.)

This Mr. Pickles only opened in mid-April…there is another shop down the road that’s not a real Mr. Pickles. The not-​real Mr. Pickles down the road sucks, which is why this Unilocal listing has a low rating!
Having made *that* clear, I had never been to a Mr. Pickles before this one opened, so I can’t compare it to other franchise locations. But THIS location is awesome! I’ve had 3 or 4 different sandwiches, and each is excellent. I bought a large order for a family event, and it was all ready on time, and everyone said their food was great.
The owners are polite, professional and fun. All the staff that I’ve talked to so far have kept up the family-​friendly, neighborhood sandwich shop atmosphere. It’s definitely one of my favorite places to eat!

From a vegetarian’s point of view, it was just OK. There weren’t a lot of vegetarian options — one to be exact and the menu was constructed in away that did not encourage one to build their own sandwich. I also found it to be kind of expensive for what it was. I got a sandwich and a small bag of chips — no drink and it was $ 11. The sandwich was on a standard 8″ roll. The décor was kind of interesting — old movie posters. The best part of that was the fact that while we waited for 15 minutes for our sandwiches (yes, 15 minutes for cold sandwiches), we had some interesting stuff to look at and reminisce about.
So, bottom line: if I were stuck for something for lunch, I would feel safe coming here, but I certainly would not seek them out.

I’ve been a fan of Mr. Pickles for years, but this location in Rocklin is TERRIBLE! The sandwiches are sloppy, their meat is tastes cheap and slimy, and it lacks the quality that defines Mr. Pickles.
It’s even more frustrating when you pay $ 7 for a sandwich, plus $ 1 for avocado and end up with a sandwich that tastes like it was made with the 85 cent meat you find at Winco, with only a hint of avocado.
Would not recommend this location…
