This place is my favorite place for lunch or a transition snack and coffee to or from Class at Sierra. The sandwiches here are so bomb. They have a variety of fresh ingredients and breads and the size of everything is perfect. They just began selling homemade chicken curry and naan as well which I have been unable to resist getting since they began with it. Prices are low and affordable on my low income while in college. Very calm inside and relaxing for doing homework or reading a magazine. The couple who run the deli are super friendly and are a pleasure to talk to. I love this place. The bathroom is not the best but I think it’s shared for the entire complex. Can’t really blame them.

LOVE the Telera(sp?) rolls — great for a sandwich and they have smaller ones for nibbling as well! Air-pots filled with different coffees, but they also serve lattes, etc. Nice couple has bought JD’s and happy to report the quality remains! If you have a large to go order — call a day in advance, then the rest of us will still have a choice of tasty fresh-baked breakfast pastries! :) :)

This place is very much a mom and pop shop. It’s relaxing and regular locals exclaim nobody does it best. tried a little of both worlds. The sandwichs are fresh and full of that great flavor you’d expect. No runny nasty wet stuff here. The pastries are so sweet and crunchy. Probably best to get here as soon a they are made! The service is a two person job, so there’s no waitering. Do it yourself atmosphere! I like that. Price wise, I think for the taste you get a awesome deal, but I am a big guy so I’d probably need more to justify the meal. Overall, if you’re in the area, check it out here. There’s free WiFi and indoor outdoor experiences with tones to choose from.

Always a fan of supporting moms and pops places. First time here today and I really liked it. I’ll definitely be back when I’m going to be in this area. The food looks fresh and you can get a good meal under $ 10!

Not a coffee drinker so I just went with their house made cinnamon roll. The dough was light and fluffy, the frosting was not heavy-handed and the amount of cinnamon was just right. I was very happy with it.

I am always a fan of places that feature housemade items and this place delivers. I drive by this place on the way to work everyday but had not stopped in. Today was the day. First impression as you open the door is the fresh baked bread smell. They have multiple loaves of bread in the deli counter and also a nice selection of breakfast pastries. Cinnamon Roll was the choice. Fresh baked Cinnamon Rolls are hard to beat and their’s delivered. It was moist and had a good amount of seasoning. It was light on the frosting so that may be an issue for some but I enjoyed it because I prefer the cinnamon to frosting. They brew Java City coffee and I will happily add them to my rotation.

I liked the cookies and fresh baked bread. but sandwiches could use work.(About as much work as this place needs interior up-dating), lol. I came and ordered a ham sandwich, tuna, turkey, and pastrami for my family with some was not impressed with pastrami, turkey was okay and my kids wouldn’t eat the tuna(too dry;not flavorful enuff). And the other one refused the ham sandwich bc I asked for very lite mustard on it and it came saturated in mustard. My other kid took the ham out of it and ate the ham only. I asked to taste the egg salad prior to ordering a whole sandwich and got a very strange reaction by the worker and what seemed like female owner. The owner opened up a big Tupperware bowl and gave me a big spoon full. I liked the freshness of it, consistancy seemed alright but not enuff mustard or much of any other flavor in it. Also, I asked for all of our pickles ‘on the side,’ and only got one order with pickles on the side.(the other 3 sandwiches apparently were not given any).Anyway for $ 25+ I think ill pass on going there again. next time ill get us some $ 2 subs from subway for lunch at the park. P. S. watch what cheese you order here if you’re picky about cheese. it is not ‘sliced’ singles cheese here. but rather thin sliced cheese off a block it seemed.(which I don’t like;the consistancy and texture is not the same). Just my 2 cents.

JD’s is down the street from my house, has good reviews, and offers a free bag of chips and soda with Unilocal check-in, so I thought I’d cruise on over. After reading the reviews, I was expecting the«Best Sandwich in Rocklin». I haven’t been to that many sandwich places in Rocklin but I have to believe that this can’t be the best. I ordered the roast beef on a sweet roll and thought it was just okay. It kind of reminded me of the sandwiches that I used to eat as a kid; a couple pieces of meat and a small slice of tomato and lettuce hidden under a giant sweet roll so I would eat my veggies. I will say that the employees are friendly and the service was super fast. The woman making the sandwiches had already started on mine before I had even finished ordering.

I’m embarrassed to admit that, as a Rocklin native, I had never tried JD’s before yesterday! Growing up, my bestie always told me how great it was, but for some reason I never ended up going in. I needed a quick lunch before leaving town, so I decided to stop in. When I went to check in, I saw that they give a free small drink and chips with the Unilocal check in – score! Had to go with the egg salad(as it’s my friend’s fav). Got it on sourdough, and the sandwich was delicious! Pickle slices on the side really put it over the top! Super nice family working at the counter; they really seem to care about customer service. I’ll be back for sure!

I had the pastrami sandwich and it was awesome. At first I thought it had too little meat, but it was a perfectly balanced sandwich, on a freshly baked french roll. Their pastries are great also. I think they open from 5am to 3pm, so all you early birds have a great place to come to. It’s become one of my favorites, and I’ll be back.

Best Sandwich in Rocklin! Maybe even the whole Sacramento area. All they bread, cookies and pastries are handmade and so delicious. Definitely try the apple turnover it is amazing as well as the cookies. I always get my sandwiches on a french roll, they are so fluffy and fresh. I can’t rave enough about this place. The staff is so nice and remembers my order every time I come in even if it’s been months. I’ve been going there since I was a little kid and would love to see them do well!

I love this place! It’s not decorated fancy like Starbuck’s or other coffee shops but the quality is top notch compared to others. They serve Java City coffee which is hard to find in other coffee shops now a days. They also have great baked goods, bagels, and yummy sandwiches. this place is family owned and operated and I have always had a pleasant experiences with all of the people who work in the shop. Please please please patronize this business as it is a gem that I want to see stay around forever!
