Nice place and atmosphere. For a wash and haircut (just a trim), it was $ 45 and took 15 minutes. A little more expensive than I was expecting. They offered beverages three times. The stylist and receptionist seemed cold; but then again, I’m awkward.
Also, you can schedule an appointment online through the link on the Unilocal page, but they still call you to confirm the appointment– kind of cancels out the point of booking online.

Relaxing experience from making the appointment a couple weeks ago to going to the appointment today. I had a pedicure, my daughter had a gel manicure Both were great experiences and I will definitely come back. If you are looking for an assembly line type pedicure, For a very cheap price, this would not be the place for you. But if you are looking for quality care and consistency, this would be the salon and spa for you.

Everyone at Maxim is welcoming and goes above and beyond to make the experience a great one. Definitely would recommend stopping in and finding it out for yourself. Accommodating, talented group of people that will make you want to come back.

What a great first experience! I was in desperate need for a haircut and a friend told me about their discount walk-​in cuts for $ 15 for students (only $ 18 for non-​students). I decided to try it out since it was such a great deal and there was nothing to loose really! I went on an afternoon during the week so I was immediately paired with Andrea. She was SUPER sweet and really listened to what I was looking for before getting started. I truly trusted her after our chat and felt 100% comfortable with whatever she suggested to make it look best.
The cut came out amazing and I opted to get a blowout for an extra $ 10. In my entire life, Andrea is the first stylist to actually blow out my hair in a way that I like! She finished it off with some texturing and a little bit of straightening — which I almost always go home and do myself after a cut. Besides the service itself, the ambiance of the salon is very welcoming. It’s quaint and relatively small, but this encourages all the employees and customers to chat together. I will definitely be back!

I think this place was great for the price! I got the student discount, which was a wash and a cut for $ 15. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday afternoon, but I only had to wait about five minutes. The service was great and I really liked the cut! I would definitely come back considering the great price!

I used to go to this salon back when I was in college, and on a recent trip to Rochester, I decided to stop in for an «emergency» manicure and pedicure. It had been a few years since my last visit, but I was pleasantly surprised when they still had my name in the system and they treated me with excellent service. They were pretty busy (it was a Friday afternoon), but they managed to help me out. I only had to wait in the seating area for a few minutes, but they offered me wine, water or coffee in the meantime.
The esthetician that took care of me was very friendly and gentle. One of my toenails recently fell of, but she didn’t act grossed out or anything. Instead she asked about it and was extra careful. Yay!
They don’t have nail dryers (that I’m aware of), but who’s in a rush to leave! I’ll definitely try to visit Maxim the next time I’m in town.

This is the TOP spot to not only get your hair done, but your feet and nails too! Yes, thats right guys I said feet and nails. These ladies make it look so easy, but they all do really complicated work. They have a huge shelf of Crew products for men, to tailor to your specific hair needs. Right when you come into the door, they always offer you either coffee or wine. I always go right for the coffee every-​time cause I am morning person when it comes to beauty. Hair Done, Nails Done, everything done done, you can be FANCY NOW, and this place will help you get there.
Stephanie is one of the BEST hair stylists there, and her availability is always booked. I have been going to her for almost ten years now. After hair, its off to the nail department. Stephanie does a great job of getting right down to the cubes, then finishes it off with the clear coat for men (love my finger nails super shiny and clean, and my dates do to). When it’s time for the Summer season, a pedicure there is worth every penny. They have these awesome HUGE comfy chairs that immediately relax you when getting your feet done. Plus the pedicures on the porch is a bonus with a glass of wine on a nice day.
Overall: Classy Place, Great for Men, Stephanie Rocks!, Shiny Manicures/​Pedicures, Coffee/​Wine Welcome, Top Notch Men’s Crew products. I WILL BE BACK… in fact… this Saturday!

My go-​to spot when my hands need attention! Stephanie is a magician with the gel polish. She always gets close to the cuticle, so there is minimal gap between the polish and the cuticle and you don’t leave with what looks like a week’s worth of growth. She helped me find my favorite nude combo shade, and turns my ragged cuticles into a thing of beauty. And for $ 20 for just the gel polish, it’s reasonable to go in every few weeks to have the color changed.
The space is pretty basic, but very comforting and welcoming. They’ve turned an old house on Park Ave into a salon I can walk to, and for that I am grateful (and so are my hands)!

When the ticket agents at the airline counter call you by name, that’s really not a good sign. You need to get a life. When the same thing happens at a Spa, you are starting to figure things out — life balance. No, I am not a Maxim Platinum Elite, but I visit pretty often (Shhhh,.).
I like the character of Maxim and Park Ave in general. There is nothing pretentious about it. No haute folks to stare, no marble floors and no sissy slippers and robes required. It’s kinda cozy and I like the old house feel.
Most importantly, I like the Maxim staff. All are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. And for services, one of the best massage professionals in the area works at Maxim. The Estheticians are also excellent.
Predictable, Repeatable, and No surprises is what I like. That’s what I get at Maxim’s.
Great place. But don’t tell my Poker and Golf Buddies. Shhhhh.

I really like Maxim for its Gelish nail manicures. Gelish is similar to Shellac, in that it’s «set» by a light (LED instead of Shellac’s UV), and the polish stays on your nails for 2 – 3 weeks. This isn’t a super regular pampering for me, but before a special event it’s a great way to treat yourself!
The salon itself is in a big ‘ol house on Park Ave and has a very Martha’s Vineyard style about it — large porch, hardwood floors, homey atmosphere. It’s not city-​chic and there’s something so appealing and comfortable about it. They even do pedicures out on the porch!
The girls are super friendly and the manicure is $ 35. When you want to swap out colors a few weeks on, it’s $ 20. If you’re thinking about nails this summer, Maxim is a great choice.

I have been coming here for some years now and I can say the service definitely feels rushed. When I first began coming the stylist and other employees were attentive and the customer service was great. However now, I can not justify spending nearly $ 200 on hair services here on just a cut and color. I am aware that is an average price in the area, but for the quality I would rather spend my money elsewhere where you do not feel like you are rushed. It is a shame too because this place was once my go-​to, but I have now brought my business elsewhere.

Went to get my hair cut there twice and loved it! Service was great and stylist were great. Jenny and Casandra are both good stylist that I had experience with. They cut it exactly how I wanted it. Maxim also has student walk in haircuts for only $ 15 and addition $ 10 if you want to blow dry. So cheap! Out of my 5yrs in Rochester this is the best place I’ve gone to so far. So happy I found this place and I will be back again

I bought the groupon for a series of 6 multivitamin facials. Right after I purchased I thought, well that was probably not a smart thing to do. I had never been to maxim or gotten a facial before. But after my first visit I’m sooooo happy I did! Katie did my facial and she was so wonderful. She spoke with me for a while first about my skin concerns and our plan of attack for my six sessions. The procedure itself was great and relaxing and my skin felt fantastic after and I really can’t wait for my next appointment!

My experience was half and half. I had a signature pedicure and a manicure. The pedicure was absolutely wonderful. The manicure, however, was a bit rushed and wasn’t done as well as it should have been. I would definitely go back for the pedicure, but I would skip their manicure services.

Amaaaazing pedicure from Liz. She took their time & did a really good job. It is WELL worth a little bit of extra money for the work done & care taken. I am so impressed. Staff is very friendly & helpful and the studio is totally clean, well-​decorated with a relaxing atmosphere. I have never had a better pedicure experience. Will DEFINITELY be back!

This place moved to Park Avenue awhile ago and wow is it great. Jennee does a great job when it comes to cut and color and the staff is always so personable and nice.
The interior design is fab too.
