Dragonfly has always been my go to bar. Regardless of the time of day /day of the week… Dragonfly was my number one choice. Tonight, however, they didn’t live up to their full potential. It was that awful moment when you haven’t had pizza in over a week so you’re extremely excited for the buffalo chicken pizza you order. &30ish minutes later when the pizza finally comes out(I’m a patient girl when I want to be) it’s not only the wrong pizza, but it’s so far beyond burnt that it’s barely edible. Anyone who knows me. knows my frustration level is currently through the roof. And the worst part is… When I asked the bartender about it, she goes«oh yeah *giggle* they are all so high up there in the kitchen» … Oh? Wrong answer.

This place is odd; maybe it was the time of day that I went, but I was getting some seriously strange vibes. The clientele was very mixed, I felt out of place. Stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon after this place was recommended by a friend of mine. The entrance was in the back and there were a couple of booths, circle high top tables and the bar. The bartender was friendly, beers were cheap. There is a game area a few steps up with two dart boards and another high top table in the window. There just wasn’t anything great about the place and again, as out of owners, we felt like we were invading. Their restrooms were down a creepy staircase into the basement and really needed to be cleaned. The place just grossed me out a bit.

Dragonfly is one of my favorite bars! Perfect spot for a Sunday afternoon hang out(build your own Bloody Mary) and a great place to head to on a Friday or a Saturday. The atmosphere is great as well. A little modern rustic twist. It’s a hot spot so you’ll probably run into someone that you know!

I received a gift card to Dragonfly and I finally had the opportunity to try it out on a recent Friday. We got there early, and by the time we left we noticed that it seemed to be picking up with a lot of local kick ball teams. Much to our surprise, Friday has half-price apps! Score! Our food took a little bit to come, but nothing unbearably long. It gave us an opportunity to relax and people watch. We tried a couple of different apps, including the Boursin cheese fries and the spicy buffalo dip. The cheese fries were good, but the buffalo dip was phenomenal! We’ll be back just for that.

Considering I had to wait about 20 minutes to get in here on a Friday night and it was super crowded, I think this is a decent bar. I like all the wood paneling and the tree trunk tables, and the service was great. I would probably only go back on a more chill night during the week, but I think it would be a good bar to go to watch a game with a big group.

Staff touched the pizza with their barehands. The pizza itself was old and disgusting. Slices were significantly smaller than they used to be. What happened to this place?

Quite a small bar with limited seating. Decent selection of beer. Small ante-room with a dart board if that’s your thing. Connected to the pizza place out front. Beer is cheap. The pizzas are huge and loaded with toppings but are really greasy. Went there for trivia which was, compared to trivia in other bars, pretty easy. You’d do well in a group of 3 – 4. It isn’t exactly challenging to get a high score. If you attend the trivia and sit through the announcement of results, you get your answer sheet back which can be exchanged with the pizzeria for $ 5 off! Not a bad deal. The pizza isn’t great but the beer is cheap and the trivia is fun.

It seems like they didn’t want any business when asking to view the menu or specials so we left, there are many better places on park anyways.

Don’t order hot food on a cold night(other than pizza). The food is brought outside from the front to the back, everything we ordered was unappetizingly cold except the pizza. Nice atmosphere, trivia is a kick in the pants. Other than cold, there is good food, zepoli were tender pillows with chocolate and caramel. Pesto five cheese tomato pizza was well topped with a tender chewy crust. Oh my the fries w boursin, bacon n siracha were awesome, even cold. Pittsburger with fried egg, coleslaw, cheese, fries n veg burger was fantastic. Garbage plate eggrolls with sides of meat hot sauce, ketchup and mustard were an amazing compliment to a beer. We over ordered and asked for a to go box, the guy came and went numerous times, actually ignoring my attempt to get his attention till someone in our party reached out and touched him. He was pretty curt with his reply and never came back with a box. If everything was hot the food would totally get 4 stars.

I’m a big fan of Dragonfly. My kickball team would go there after our kickball games in the summer, we all always enjoyed ourselves and thought the pizza and beer were always great! Dragonfly is also a park ave hot spot for the late night hours, it can get really busy which then can be hard to grab a drink. I also have been to Dragonfly for ‘dinner’ with family, which to my surprise their food was outstanding. The have a somewhat broad menu for being a bar, more appetizers and pizza. Overall, strongly recommend and hey maybe I’ll be there!

This is a cute little place. Went here for drinks once and it’s decorated like a bar in the adks, a lot of wood, animal heads. Expected there to be a lot of guys dressed in flannels haha. Drinks were good, and for it Being right next to my old apartment I’m sad I never went their sooner. I also ordered takeout there once as well, got a veggie pizza and some artichoke dip. The pizza was good, and while the artichoke dip was unconventional it was still good.

I came here with some girlfriends looking for a place to grab a few more drinks after we’d already had a few to start our evening. This is a bro-bar. So if you’re into that kind of thing, you’ll like it. I however, am not a fan.

A couple years ago, Dragonfly was one of my favorite bars to go to no matter what day of the week. The atmosphere has changed a lot in the last couple years(in almost every Park Ave bar). During the week it is a pretty low key place where you can go in, have a drink, get something to eat, and not feel like you are on campus at a local college. Weekends Dragonfly is rivaling Publik House(Old Prepps) for biggest flat brim hang out in the Rochester area. If you are 22, have a tank top, and a flat brim, this seems to be where you go on the weekends. The outside patio is one of the best in the city, you can stay out there all night, there is a decent amount of seating, often there is a cocktail waitress, and the people watching is highly entertaining(flat brim crowd stumbling in and out can be entertaining if you aren’t locked in a small room with them). Their food is above average, pizza is… meh.

My favorite place for late nite pizza… or get sober ‘za. Just my perfect stop. Its lovely to hang out in the front terrace in the warmer weather nights. It does tend to get really packed in the weekends and you can FORGET trying to get a spot during Park Ave Fest weekend.

Delicious food! Great pizza, fantastic wings and mannys favorite is the garbage plate Egg rolls! The bar is a little too Loud for my liking and a strange crowd at times… But I do enjoy their tavern theme, it’s very cozy looking just loud

Pizza is just ok here because the oven may not be hot enough to make the crust crispy. The cheese is good the toppings are good but the sauce is just ok as well. This is a matter of personal preference but I think the crust is the most important part of a pizza. However, the food items are actually pretty good. The salad used to be better when they made their own croutons, the owner switched about a year ago and before that they used to have the best chicken ceaser salad in the city. The chicken sandwich is good and the French fries are great. Great sponsor for a sports team too. It’s always packed inside with young 20s crowd. Great place for winter cause of the fireplace.

I prefer coming here for happy hour, enjoying drink specials and pizza on a Tues. or Weds. evening… cozying up to the fireplace(winter) or nabbing a patio seat(summer), sipping on some cider. It’s a win. The bar food is quite tasty — boursin fries, yes please. Always. Nachos are also a good one to share with a group. I like the pizza too — something simple like cheese and pepperoni or the meat lovers. I try to avoid the late night crowds on Fridays and Saturdays as it gets a little loud and rowdy for me. It’s mostly the recent grads/college-age kids who live on Park Ave at that time and not my scene. A couple years ago, Dragonfly sponsored our kickball team and we’d go there after our games to hang out on Thurs. and enjoy a few complimentary items, play some darts and relax after a long work week. They were awesome and really generous. Even after a few years, and less frequent visits on my part, it’s nice to see familiar faces behind the bar. Thurs. is also ladies night so 2 for 1 drinks(well drinks/domestics/draft). I usually opted for draft — they have a good variety, almost always serving a Dogfish Head, some type of cider(McKenzie’s is my preferred option), 3HB, or a stout. I also found out they are now serving some brunch items on Sunday. I haven’t tried it yet, but willing to give it a whirl. Who can pass up another brunch option?

Played trivia in the back part. I liked it. The crowd wasn’t quite nerdy enough, but I guess that could change night to night. Need to try the wings next time.

I go to Dragonfly on Tuesday for trivia, cheap beer and 50¢ wings. The wings are actually quite good though good wings are not hard to come by in Rochester. I wish I could say I like their pizza but it’s average. On weekends, the bar is quite lively. It’s a good place for patio drinking!

This place was a brief saunter down from my old Park Avenue apartment, so I did visit it a few times. In the beginning, there was quite a buzz surrounding this place, because it was said to be owned by the same people that run the Bug Jar. This notion proved promising… because this meant that Dragonfly would be more than just another bro bar… or so we thought. Housed in a house with a porch… this is not your average looking bar from the outside. The front is also dedicated to their pizzeria, which is quite cool and does in fact churn out pretty good pizzas(everything from build your own, to meat loaded, etc.). We tried a smörgåsbord of gourmet pizzas, starting with the Loaded Potato and Clams Casino pies, and then the Smoky Mountain. I liked the Loaded Potato and Clams Casino, but the tomato sauce on the Smoky Mountain was way too sweet, and neither of us cared for it. The crust on every pizza was airy, bubbly, but also crunchy and buttery. Two thumbs up. Russell also got an order of their«killer hot» dragon wings. They were almost too hot for me to enjoy, but Russell didn’t think that they were hot at all. I’d like to try more of their specialty pizzas, and the boursin fries sound like they have roots in Poutine! I liked the food of Dragonfly way better than the atmosphere. It was too loud for me, not enough seating, and it was bro-central. I’d like to see the place on their trivia night, though.
